TOP 5 KENYAN EVENTS SO FAR!
There have been alot of events going on since the beginning of the year…
And with more than 6 months gone, i feel i can confidently spot a well organised and fun event from the onset. That means i know what makes an event a stellar affair. And trust me when i say that these events were nothing like Chaguo la Teenies!
The guests at these events actually enjoyed themselves and everything ran smoothly. Next time these chaps should look for Muthoni The Drummer Queen’s team and engage them!
With that said, let me delve right into the top events that have gone down thus far and the reasons why they came off tops:

#5 Blankets and Wine
This event is the smallest of those in the top ranks and it is a monthly affair but the thing is, it is well organised. The security is also ample but i had to dock a few points from it because of some drunk and disorderly incidents involving some youngins. A problem that none other than Muthoni vowed to tackle.
Oh well, i’ll get back to you on how successfully it was handled during next month’s edition.

#4 Beerfest
This event was by my estimations an awesome event. It was well organised and well attended. However, i docked points because i experienced a bit of a glitch getting tickets. That meant that i had to head out to Racecourse twice…
However in terms of security, they were friendly, the organiser we spoke to about the confusion (James) was helpful and rather understanding about our plight. A far cry from the arrogant douchebags i’ve encountered before.
#3 Sawa Sawa Fest
This event went on without a glitch in as far as i could tell. It was entertaining and the performers all reached out of their comfort zones to entertain and that sheer drive and hardwork meant that the day was a true pleasure.
They also celebrated African heritage and i am a sucker for the celebration of African heritage. The security was tight and friendly and for once, i was at an event with reggae lovers and “masafara” and i had nothing to fear… Except the trip back to the stage (I was javing on this particular night).
Other than that, this is an event you should wait for next year. You won’t regret it!
#2 Farenheit Party
These guys did everything right. The DJ sets were awesome and they DJs weren’t fl;apping their gums about irrelevant gossip or singing along to the tracks.
The performers were energetic and i dare say this was by far Camp Mulla’s best performance. I got utterly sloshed but i didn’t get relieved of my property and what more can you ask for? Security was uber friendly and polite and to my sheer glee, the V.I.P venue was rendered irrelevant as everyone mingled freely.
This was quite the event! If ever you want to experience a concert, you should hassle to experience a Farenheit Party!
And now drumroll please as we announce the shocker of the evening…
The number one slot goes to a Christian gig that utterly shut me up seeing as i was skeptical about such…
#1 Groove Awards
Everything flowed like water. When you think of Groove Awards, envision an ocean ebbing back and forth. Every drop of water is in perfect synchrony with the other and that was how Groove Awards were.
If they experienced any trouble, then MO Sound didn’t let on! That was one professionally done gig!
I salute the top 5 events. Now onto the rest of the events of the year!
