‘Tumechoka’, hip hop’s cry
From Audio Kusini comes this unique blend of artistes from Mombasa, Nairobi and one from New York who together hold up the ‘OKOA HIPHOP PROJECT’. An attempt to save Hiphop music is well received with Hiphop fans seeing as everyone is turning to techno/electric and house music.
These guys have released a track titled ‘tumechoka’ with features all the artistes in this project namely Kidis, Silver, Ekori, Skobo, Gas Fyatu, Doo Mambo, KeviExicon(Ney York) and Kaktus. With conscious lyrics, they deliver their message in rhythm and flow. They even have a Maasai rapper that raps in his native language and still manages to deliver perfectly.
The video of the track also speaks if you are keen on the surroundings/environment. Nas was dead wrong when he said Hiphop is dead, or if it was, it just came back to life. Check this out.
