Who knew forwarding a message could cause such a huge mess?
Veteran journalist Elijah Kinyanjui found himself in piping-hot soup after forwarding an unflattering screenshot of a girl said to be Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua’s daughter.
The girl said to be one Brenda Mutanu was painted as reckless shisha smoker in a post by the Kenya Daily Post, a post which Kinyanjui forwarded 3 months ago.
He was recently arrested causing outrage on social media with Kenyans calling for his release under the hashtag #ReleaseKinyanjui.
Dennis Itumbi@OleItumbi: #ReleaseKinyanjui Bloggers should be arrested if they commit crime like murder, extortion etc.But not for their opinion however flawed
Cyprian, Is Nyakundi @C_NyaKundiH: No Blogger should be arrested 4 Retweeting Something. This has now become the precedent . Soon it will be a crime to Tweet #ReleaseKinyanjui
