For a few people its love at first sight for others it’s a working progress.

So was Lulu Hassan’s first meeting with her current husband love at first sight? Well it was actually love at first ‘sound’ as Rashid first came across Lulu Hassan’s voice in a Radio jingle and wanted to get introduced to the lady with the velvet-like voice.

That was in 2007 at Radio Salaam where Rashid was doing his internship. It was love at first sight when he met her but for Lulu it was a whole different scenario as she had just been bereaved.

Which was wrongly misread by Rashid who said “I thought she was a little proud. She didn’t pay me any mind totally ignored me. I had to really sweat to get the conversation going. I really wanted to know her. One day while doing a feature in Mtwapa, she was assigned to do it with me

Lulu on the other hand says “I used to wonder who this guy pestering me was. I thought he was a joker. My mum had just passed away and I was in a sad part in my life, I barely noticed him.”

His persistence however paid off and he got his first date and his second and two weekends later they were engaged! Yes that fast because Rashid knew from the word go, Lulu would be his wife.
