Wig Snatching 101: Nation’s Njoki Chege Launches A Scathing Attack On Kenyan Female News Anchors. They Won’t Be Pleased!

It’s always interesting to read a Njoki Chege column, unless you are in the line of fire. It’s even more interesting to watch the aftermath of a Njoki Chege article.

It generates a few ha-has, attracts a lot of boohoos and controversy as demonstrated by the endless slew of salty articles penned for one Njoki Chege. But I think Njoki Chege’s articles should be taken in a tongue-in-cheek way, as they say it’s never that serious.

After giving Subaru owners a breather, Njoki Chege recently launched a scathing attack on female news anchors that will definitely ruffle plenty of sensitive feathers.

The resident provocateur calls out Kenyan female news anchors in sternly worded article called:
“Four-point guide to being the finest female TV presenter.”
But trust me this is not your usual ‘how to be a presenter 101 ‘kind of article, here is an excerpt:
“ A female TV anchor is not complete unless she hogs the blogs.
The idea here is to keep people talking about you. Lead a controversial life. Date a small-time car thief.

Have a baby with a Nigerian or Congolese conman who will rip you off your little money. Marry a spoilt brat from a rich family.

Hang around footballers and football club managers. Have babies with married politicians. Marry men of questionable character and ensure you change the wedding venue several times to keep your fans in suspense.

Date your bosses and have their babies. Steal people’s husbands. A female TV anchor’s biggest challenge is not scaling the corporate ladder, but coming up with innovative ways to keep the rumour mill grinding.”

If you are privy to the ongoings of the media industry, it will not be hard to decipher who these shots are being fired at.
