‘Yes We Bought Vibrators’ Ministry of Devolution Accepts Buying Sex Gadgets As They Explain Other Expenditure
Last week the Ministry of Devolution and its CS Anne Waiguru was on the receiving end of public wrath over misappropriation of public funds.
Aside from just alleged over pricing the ministry came under heavy criticism over the purchase of what appeared to be unnecessary and even dubious items including a 1.7 million television, a piano and sex toys. Well, the ministry has now come out offering clarification over the matter.
First, the ministry admits that there were serious mistakes with the first report submitted to the PAC. Through its PS, Peter Mangiti, the ministry said the alleged 1.7 million screen was actually an Integrated Monitoring System used for specialized monitoring during board meetings.
The ministry also says the piano cost 235,000 shillings and was procured for the NYS band. The most curious items were the sex toys which some even thought was a joke.
The PS however admitted that indeed the ministry bought vibrators and then went on to explain that these were used for HIV/AIDS administration. The PS has said a correct and comprehensive list is being finalized and will be handed to the PAC laiter.
