You Wont Believe The Trouble It Took Lupita To Get That 13 million Gown!

The dress didn’t come easy, The Vogue records: “…With a winning season that saw her glide across red carpets in Chanel and Dior Haute Couture, Oscar de la Renta, and Ralph Lauren Collection, actress Lupita Nyong’o elevated the red carpet last year with looks that displayed a return to elegance and a willingness to take bold, calculated risks..” she had slowly but surely made her mark in the fashion scene as the short haired, dark skinned girl from Africa who was nevertheless making a mark in a whites dominated field. 

 When it came to her dress, a custom Calvin Klein Collection pearl and ivory beaded gown, for this year’s awards, though, she returned to one of her favorite designers, Francisco Costa, women’s creative director of Calvin Klein Collection, who previously dressed Nyong’o in a custom creation for the 2014 Critics’ Choice Awards. “Lupita has become a close friend of the house over the last year,” says Costa. “From the onset, I wanted the dress to be graphic, yet warm and luxurious.” He achieved that sense of luxury by “creating a series of textures with intricate placements of a variety of different-sized pearls,” taking into consideration the distinct qualities of each, combined with the metallic tulle and silk lamé of the dress. “We looked at a variety of different pearls—South Sea, iridescent, and natural—and decided that the natural pearls looked the most beautiful.”-The Vogue

The actress prior to the event had to attend a series of fitttigs to make sure that the dress fitted her body and accentuated her frame, when it was all said and done she picked the dress. wore it and stole the show. But the dress that caused a stir on the fashion scene was stolen from her hotel  room last evening. 

The dress had cost her a staggering 13 million shillings, probably the most expensive look she has ever donned on the red carpet, It might not be such a staggering sum to a woman of her standing, but the actress had a connection with the dress.-We hope you get it back sweetheart. 

The police have made three arrests in connection with the stolen dress and are inching closer to solving the mystery.
