Behind the scenes pics to ‘Engineer Penja’ video shoot

Just a few more days to the launch of the much anticipated video to the realest and most soulful Kenyan neosoul music, ‘Engineer Penja’ from Aziza Muzik and Anto Neosoul. I am not just saying that because it is currently my favorite Kenyan song (apart from Owen’s Mbona), but simply because it is really that good (read related article).

It gets even better when Anto Neosoul himself tells us that he can’t wait for the video to be launched, confirming to us that it will be all that is expected from a work of art product and awesome collaboration.

Good wine takes time to mature. I’m guessing similar concept is applied in this video because it feels like I have been waiting forever for it. Just a few more days… a few more.

Meanwhile, check out the pics to the behind the scenes and have a taste of bliss from the music below.

Sing Along to Jackiwa’s ‘Life History’ With These Lyrics

Matasia Star’s Jackiwa came out early this year with her hit single ‘Life History’ which shot to to fame over Kenya’s social media networks, from a You Tube viewing of just under 1,000 to boast over 60,000 views to date. This is an amazing feat by any Kenyan standards, though the jury may be out on whether or not Kenyans and the world love that song.

Nevertheless, ‘Life History’ goes from strength to strength as the artiste, Jackiwa, has been interviewed by a number of media houses including the Star and the Standard Group’s ‘Pulse’ about her song and her style of music which she christens ‘Probox’. She even has a brand new song called ‘Trust’ out. CLICK HERE

Click here to find out why Jackiwa calls her music ‘Probox’

Now in a first ever move, Ghafla! brings you the lyrics to Jackiwa’s ‘Life History’ so that the next time you see or listen to the video, you can sing along!

Here’s the video to Jackiwa’s ‘Life History’…

Controversial Actor to Make a Cameo on Mali

NTV’s MALI has been having a lot of cameos lately. From bloggers to music artistes, the show has been regularly inviting stars to appear on Kenya’s first and increasingly popular soap opera.

It was recently reported that Patricia Kihoro would appear on the show and now we have in more great news for fans of the series. Ghafla has EXCLUSIVELY learnt that budding actor Edward Nyanaro will also star in Mali.

Edward is more prominently known for his debut role in MTV’s hit series Shuga: Love Sex &Money, and the  Actor/Model Nyanaro, who played the role of ‘Rayban’ in the highly acclaimed “Shuga II” TV series , has been tapped by Mali producers to make a cameo appearance in the hit soap opera.

Edward is however, not new to the television screen, having appeared in several TV commercials and a few pilot episodes to various local productions. In addition to that, he has also performed with Guadalupe and Kayamba Fiesta.

The artiste has proved that he is not afraid to tackle any role he is given but instead takes it up as a challenge: as he played—what some considered—a controversial character in Shuga. Rayban was gay but the actor, in a previous interview with Capital FM, has confirmed that he is not.

Expressing his excitement, the day-time Advertising Executive for Radio Africa group said, “ being on Mali was not just a role for me, it was very monumental because I love the show and the cast altogether”.
It’s not yet clear what character the seasoned thespian will play but sources indicate it’s a small role that may turn into a full-time recurrent one if the writers realize that audiences are pleased.

Moreover, “Shuga II” by the Bomb production{ South African} and “Mali” fall under the same local production company, Al Is On, so it should not come as surprise if he lands on the show permanently, considering his stellar performance as “Rayban”.

No word yet about when the particular episode will air, but it should be soon.

New Music Alert! Muthoni the DQ is ‘Feelin It’

Fresh from the release of her collaborative efforts with Octopizzo on the track ‘Vile Inafaa’, which happens to be doing some massive rotation on both radio and television stations, Muthoni the Drummer Queen has just released a the audio to her BRAND NEW TRACK titled ‘Feelin It’

‘First things first, call up the mortuary, tell them on this track, murder of the century’ is part of the opening lyrics to this tune that features some heavy beats, characteristic of its producer, Musyoka.

The song has a somewhat old school mix feel to it, coupled with the afro-eclectic tune and vocal that is MDQ: with abundance in lyrical flow and rhyme that pieced together makes the track an amazing production.

Have a listen to ‘Feelin It’ right here on Ghafla! first below, and tell us what you think… We give Muthoni two thumbs up and a close to perfect rating.

Prometheus Premieres at IMAX

Prometheus opened at the IMAX XX Century last Friday to a sold-out auditorium. Prometheus is a prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic, Alien, which also has numerous sequels, the last one being Alien vs. Predator.

The film begins in 2089 in the Isle of Skye in Scotland where a group of scientists, led by Shaw and Holloway, may have just uncovered an important find. Fast-forward three years later and the spaceship, Prometheus, transports the scientists to a far off planet looking for clues that could unlock the secrets to the origin of mankind but find the unexpected. The android, David (Michael Fassbender), is Prometheus’ guardian and Vickers (Charlize Theron) represents the Weyland Corporation.

The film has stunning visuals, especially in the opening and ending scenes. The vista shots are expansive and immersive, which looks amazing on IMAX. The film works well as a horror or gore film with some of the scenes disturbing and even stomach-churning. There’s a surgery scene that you just can’t miss, definitely one of the best scenes of any film this year. There isn’t as much action as I expected but it is an enjoyable film nonetheless.
Other than Fassbender and Theron, the film stars Noomi Rapace (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Logan Marshall-Green (Devil), Idris Elba (Thor) and a heavily prostheticized Guy Pearce (Mildred Pierce). The film was written by Jon Spaihts (The Darkest Hour) and Damon Lindelof (LOST) and directed by Ridley Scott (Gladiator). The film was shot in 3-D and converted to IMAX.

Calif Record’s Ala-C Almost Arrested in Kitale

If you thought your weekend was long, then just ask Calif Record’s Ala C Genge what he went through over this past weekend at what was meant to be an autograph session with his fans in Kitale.

Ala C and Jimwat, together with their manager Tom, were at Kiririni Girls School Multipurpose Hall, which is a shared premises with the local church there, in a talent search which is part of their countrywide tour looking for the undiscovered musical talent Kenya has to offer.

Both the seasoned Kenyan genge artistes were dishing out fliers, posters and giving their autographs to the large crowd that was predominantly made up of the students of the girl’s school. Ala-C granted some photo opportunities to the girls who were more than excited to be with the star and descended on him with kisses and hugs.

All the commotion eventually attracted the attention of local police officers who thought the artiste was the inciter of what seemed to be a riot. Ala-C was then bundled into a police vehicle, but Jimwat intervened going ahead to call the school’s headmistress who came to explain the situation.

Official Trailer to ‘Nairobi Half Life’, A Film About A Life of Crime in The City

The official trailer to the Tosh Gitonga film ‘Nairobi Half Life’ was released just yesterday as the feature film production by One Day Fine Films, supported by the German Development Ministry.

One Day Fine Films are the very same creators who brought to us the award winning film ‘Soul Boy’ which was directed by Hawa Essuman.

Click here to checkout the trailer to ‘Soul Boy’

‘Nairobi Half Life’ is the story of a young and aspiring actor from upcountry Kenya who has the seemingly unstoppable dream of becoming a success in the big city. In pursuit of this and to the chagrin of his brother and parents, he makes his way to Nairobi: the city of opportunity.

The young man quickly understands why Nairobi is nicknamed Nairobbery as he is robbed of all his money and belongings and left alone in a city where he doesn’t know anybody. Luck, or the lack, of it brings him face to face with two groups of downtown crooks and he forms a friendship with a young small time gang leader who takes him in.

He is quickly drawn into a new world of theft and violence, even as he still tries to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. Keeping the two worlds separate proves to be a contest for him as he struggles to survive in this unknown world called Nairobi.

The set release date for the film is yet to be announced but should be sometime after the One Day Film Workshop is held, which runs from the 18th to the 29th of June 2012. Part of the cast include Wilfred Maina Olwenya, who has a regular role in NTV’s soap opera Mali (in addition to playing ‘Baby’s’ Uncle in Shuga: Love Sex Money) and Nancy Wanjiru Karanja, who played ‘Baby’ in Shuga: Love Sex Money as well as a regular feature on NTV’s ‘Beba Beba’.

UPDATE: More Details on Kaz’s Documentary

As we announced last week, Kaz is making a documentary on inspirational Kenyan women. The singer has clarified that Kenyan Woman will be a series of documentaries. Lorna Irungu, Mumbi Kaigwa, Wamaitha Mwangi and Valerie Kimani will appear in the first series and she will do more interviews with other notable women later.

The documentary and the song, also titled Kenyan Woman, which she wrote herself, will be released on the same day and the music video will follow soon after. The documentary which is being shot at EM Studios will be directed by the singer. Photographer Emmanuel Jambo will serve as the director of photography.

The documentary is set to be released online with possible deals for further distribution.

BBA: Jannette Takes Rejection From Kenya’s Brothers In Stride and Moves To Her Next Kill

The jury is still out on whether or not Malonza is playing his cards (right?) as far as being non-commital in his affairs is concerned. Last week, he came out flirting with Namibia’s Junia and it even came out later that she was playing the temptress by trying to capture the guy who a number of the Downville housemates have failed to snag.

Click here to find out about Junia and Malonza’s flirtations

All this was of course after Junia and Malonza shared a somewhat steamy kiss on their first night in the BBA house, and of course after Uganda’s Janette tried her luck at getting Malonza’s attention… though she failed miserably in that regard.

A number of weeks down the line and she managed to get her revenge, albeit through his brother Alex. Janette made fun of Alex saying that he wasn’t her type of man and that he should stop trying to pursue her. Alex on the other hand firmly dismissed her words as calculated advances on him and flatly told her he wasn’t interested.

Click here to find out how Janette made fun of Alex

This past weekend however, it seems that Janette has shifted her focus in this endless web she is trying to spin around the house. In a drunken stupor, she went ahead and kissed Malawi’s Wati, who played along for quite awhile until the spell was broken by Talia who warned Janette that Wati was ‘unemotional’ and that she should set her sights elsewhere.

Kenya’s worst song? Was this really necessary?

This great artist took his sweet time and efforts to create this music that is obviously very dear to him.

After all that struggle and devotion, a someone can actually come across the video on YouTube, and upload it for the second time, but with a different title.

No! I am not catching feelings. i just don’t get how someone can upload an artiste’s song and title it ‘Kenya’s worst song?’. the song’s original title is ‘Searching’ and it is a blend of Reggae and genge.

We honestly need viewers’ opinion on this one, so take a look at it and tell us what you think.

If you will be in New Jersy at that time, make a point of attending this Dohty Family and Supremacy Sounds battle that will see revelers go crazy.

Kaz to Make a Documentary

Kenyan afro-fusion artiste and former Project Fame contestant, Kaz, is shooting a documentary. The artiste and TV show host will interview inspirational women in Kenya. She will interview former TV host, Lorna Irungu, Tusker Project Fame winner, Valerie Kimani, humanitarian, Wamaitha Mwangi and Mumbi Kaigwa, a celebrated actress.

Facebook Is A Pretty Good Place For An Artist To Get Noticed. Here’s Proof:

When looking for a guitarist, In Oath’s band leader Chris turned to Facebook.com for help. He found a guy called Greg, who says, “I read a post from Chris on a Facebook group, where he said he was looking for a guitarist, so I sent him a message saying: ‘Can you give me a sample of what you guys do?’

He sent me a video of Eulogy and I was like, ‘Whoa! I like what this sounds like. I like the direction this band has.'”

“I suggested that we meet for a loose practice session. There was a gig coming up at Dass Restaurant in Westlands. They gave me a week to learn my part and we did the gig, then I became an ‘Oather’… I was In Oath.”

Matasia Star is back again with a new track. A must see.

Remember the music video by Matasia Star’s Jackiwa that went viral on YouTube (Read the article)? Well, she has unleashed yet another track with its video that is also destined to go viral, especially after this.

Known for her ‘out of the box’ music, which by the way coincidentally comes from the new music genre ‘Probox’ that has caused quite a stir in the music industry for various reasons.

Jackiwa from Matasia Star has dropped a new one titled ‘Trust’ that is aimed at the sexual life of the youth and is somehow supposed to educate us about it.

With no more words to describe this song, check it out and tell us what you think.

This Daring Artist Opens Up About His Crappy First Show

The band In Oath is a pretty big deal. They are one of the first heavy metal bands in Kenya. In a recent interview, they were talking about how they started. Chris, the guy who started the band, had this to say:

“We had started playing rock tunes when we came across a video game called Burnout Dominator. That is the first time we heard really good metal music, so we decided: let’s try jam.” But that’s only the good part of the story. It gets deeper:

“We only had acoustic guitars, but we decided to get more members to form a band. Our first drummer, George was a friend of ours from high school. We got two more friends and started playing shows,” Chris said, “our first show was terrible, but that is what all bands go through. You have to start somewhere. We have been doing well since.”

Then comes the story of a break-up:

“It reached a point where the original members decided to part ways because of an incident, but more so because of differences in music.”

Despite this, In Oath pressed on. They already have an album out. Click here to read about that album.

TRIBEKA SUED!

The popular nightspot is getting sued by a popular poet.

Yup! The happening nightspot is getting sued by Eudiah Kamonjo a popular poetess and freelance journalist because of *drum roll* the bouncer!
I once wrote a piece about how huge a liability certain bouncers are to their employers and it seems my warning have sadly come to fruition. This case is no different from the worn out tale over over-zealous bouncers amped on steroids going ape on a hapless reveller.
According to Kamonjo, she was dancing on the floor, just tearing it up with the boogey oblivious of all that was around her when she was ripped from her revelry and brutally savaged.
Well, she wasn’t about to take it lying down so she reported the matter to Central Police Station and has filed a case with a Human Rights lawyer. The reason for her filing the case is because apparently, some of the members of the merry-making gang she was with sought assistance from the clubs management but the did nothing.
Hmmmm… Sounds to me like a paragraph from the script i so vividly described in this article right here.
This is truly a sad incident. Pole goes out to Eudiah.

Churchill Live Starts Off Next Week, And Eric Omondi Is Out

Churchill live is one of, if not THE top rated shows in Kenya. The show rakes in major ad dollars from the biggest corporates around Kenya. The show makes millions of shillings every month for Churchill and his crew, but this time around, Eric Omondi is getting none of it.

The show will resume in its usual format. Churchill will do a one-hour comedy skit at the Carnivore on Tuesdays. He will use the show mainly as a platform for discussions with high profile individuals, as well as promoting the upcoming comedians like Eric Omondi’s brother Fred Omondi.

{youtube}dNpSgdbvePo{/youtube}

Churchill took a break from his highly rated show to re-energize and re-strategize the show’s future execution. “Doing that show is no joke and I have done every show since the beginning and I believe I deserve a break to go and rejuvenate,” he added. Now that he’s back, his fans can’t wait to see what has been cooking in the kitchen.

#TeamPrezzo update: Prezzo has Goldie cooking for him now?

You read right.

Goldie, Nigeria’s voluptuous lass has been showing Kenyan lasses how to not just get the lad but keep him. Unfortunately, it means using an advantage most Kenyan lasses can’t get an edge over: good old Nigerian dishes.
Nothing beats good old Nigerian hospitality and cooking. Coastal hospitality comes close but… And that’s how she seems to be turning tables around and has managed to have Kenya’s badboy dock his ship at her harbour.

PREZZO AND GOLDIE
And if you want to challenge her method of winning over the badboys, just look at how enthralled Prezzo is. He’s all starry eyed like a school boy staring at his first crush. Clearly though, women run this world. They merely allow the men to believe they’re incharge.
Check out the video below.

Debate of the day: Kati ya Octo na Abbas ni nani mnoma?

So Abbas has responded to Octopizzo’s diss.

And as the barbs keep being traded like fish at a monger’s parlour, it’s time for us the music lovers to decide whose hotter in an impromptu poll of sorts.
Both Octopizzo and Abbas have done alot for the Kenyan hiphop scene and both are talented lads but who do you think is the iller emcee? Octo has been releasing hit after hit consistently and Abbas has unfortunately been abit too quiet for my liking save for a recent missive sent courtesy of Pulse magazine couriers to Octo. But with that said, he has a slew of hits under his belt that should be able to go head to head against Octo’s.

So have your say but i beseech you to keep the convo progressive and postive. Don’t troll though.

PRESENTING: The First Heavy Metal Band In Kenya To Release An Album

In Oath, a heavy metal band, is the first of its kind to release an album in Kenya. Despite the widespread fear and prejudice the genre has suffered, the band has managed to amass fans while staying true to its heavy, aggressive and fast-paced sound.

The band is made up of five young musicians:

– Yung Mwanzia is the lead vocalist

– Christopher Lilako their rhythm guitarist and founder

– Greg rocks the second axe on lead guitar

– Steve Smalls plays bass

– and Larry Kimathi does the drums.

Their newly released EP album is called Eulogy. “About 90 percent of the EP consists mostly of the band’s early work, but we changed it to be more to our taste in the current In Oath line up,” said Chris, “we are going to extreme lengths to make our music better.”

Kush does ‘Baraka’ with Christine Apondi

More Divine music comes our way and we are only so glad to receive and embrace this sweet tunes that eventually change our lives.

Overlooking the irony in the name of gospel artist KUSH KUSH, you can’t help but try to sing along to this new song he has done with singer Christine Apondi, even without familiarity of the lyrics. The voices of these two artistes and the simple and humble lyrics of the song make it the ‘replay’ kind.

The song ‘Baraka’ is a blend of gospel and love tune. The two artistes sing about their love for their spouses and how grateful they are to God for making it possible for them to share their mutual love.

You may remember Christine Apondi from Nonini’s song, ‘Colour Kwa Face‘ that was directed at bringing to light the rights of those with albinism.

Have a listen to ‘Baraka’ below.

Who’s Behind the Social Media Awards?

The Social Media Awards, which will take place on the 6th of October this year, are currently in the nomination stage. Other than the judges, there’s a team working behind the scenes to make sure the event is a success.

The awards were conceptualized by Martin Muli, MD at Eyeballs Marketing, a local marketing and events management company. He has previously worked for Zetu Deals and Grand Wedding Anniversary, which celebrates marriages that last. He has also worked Nation Media Group, SFU (Canada) and advertising firm, Scangroup.

The guy behind the SOMA Facebook page and campaign will be Kenny Kaburu, FunKenya co-founder and administrator of many popular Facebook pages. Like Mr. Muli, he has also worked for Nation Media Group and currently works as an illustrator for The Standard. He previously worked for Safaricom’s magazine, The Option, and is the director of the youth advocacy organization, Straight Talk.

Working on SOMA’s Twitter strategy is Philip Ogola, a social media consultant for Gina Din Corporate Communications and has worked in the same capacity for such brands as CIC Insurance, Gina Din, Nokia (EA), MTV’s Shuga, G4S among others. He is also the director of TimeOut Media.

It’s Time to Award Your Favourite Social Media Accounts

The upcoming Social Media Awards are holding nominations on their site. The awards look to establish a platform for product and consumer engagement and encourage companies to strengthen their presence online. With the awards, they also seek to encourage excellence on social media platforms.

The awards will focus on three platforms: Facebook, Twitter and blogs. Social media users are encouraged to nominate corporate and individual accounts on Facebook and Twitter for the following categories: News Channel, Personality, Corporate Awards, National Integration, Blogger and Facebook Page of the Year.

The nominations will be judged by columnist, James Murua, social media personality, Stephen Musyoka, Socialight CEO, Marvin Tumbo and Harriet Ocharo, a blogger. After the nomination period, judges will sift through the suggestions and pick five in each category. Those will be presented to the public for voting and the awards will be held on the 6th of October, 2012.

Kisima Awards’ stakes raised by a million

It is one of the biggest and most interesting awards that the Kenyan music industry has, and it is about to get way more interesting.

Kisima Awards makes legends, and from the legends comes extremely good and better music than they were already making. Last year, gospel artist Juliani took home Sh. 1 Million from the Kisima Awards.

juliani

Juliani with his awards and a million shillings richer.

The 10Th Kisima Awards 2012 has just become better than any other that has ever taken place. The stakes have now been raised to Sh. 2 Million with the award trophy itself of-course.

Albums are currently being dropped off for nominations at the KICC ground floor and all selected Nakumatt outlets. Artistes better get their albums there ASAP.

Pulse hates on Matasia Star’s ‘Life History’

I don’t think I have to remind you about the video that went viral after we wrote an article about it (read the article). The reasons for the video getting 65, 000 hits on YouTube may vary depending on an individual’s point of view, be it comic or curiosity. Either way, it was a huge hit.

I have to admit that both the music and video are a little bit off, but still, you have to give some credit to this lady (Jackiwa) for representing her area (Matasia) proudly with the song ‘Life history’.

Pulse Magazine went H.A.M on this song, directly attacking the new genre of music that Jackiwa has introduced to the Kenyan music industry, dubbed ‘BROBOX’ (read Probox’s article)… LOL!

Like I said, reasons for the video going viral are comic and at some extent, unexplainable. One thing is for sure though, this is one entertaining video. Check it out below.

‘Kadudu’ to be released next week

As more youth hiphop groups rise, more hard hitting tracks surface in the Kenyan music industry. They are all taking different approach, but who cares. As long as they give us good music, it’s all good.

Since Autopilots stepped into the music scene, they have been dropping a series of tracks as a group and also as individuals. Just two weeks ago, Losh, a member of the hiphop group debuted his single titled ‘Mrembo‘ that was well received in the social media circles.

Two weeks later, the group is already set to release their brand new track, ‘Kadudu’. In their own words, ‘Kadudu’ is a track full of deep and hard hitting lyrics and reflects to the society, as hiphop should. The track was produced by HB’s (Home Boyz Records) Zuze.

Release date is set on the 15Th of June, 2012 from 7PM and will immediately be available on Ghafla!

Watch this space. Meanwhile, have a look at one of my favorite tracks from them below.

This artist just dissed Jimmy Gait

We are not yet sure if he wants to use Jimmy Gait as a means to acquire fame and publicity, or if he actually has this feeling for Jimmy’s latest song, ‘Ole’ which happens to be very very awesome.

Rapper Skippa Mistari who is a new comer and currently has two songs under his name, ‘White Revolution‘ and ‘Mkenya Daima‘ has just aired his first diss on-line.

His facebook profile today read,

diss

We are still yet to hear what Jimmy Gait has to say about this.

Hardstone making a possible comeback?

He is one of the pioneers of Kenyan hiphop music, making it possible for other artists to actually see a career in music.

He blew up the Kenyan music industry with the hit track ‘Uhiki’ back in the 90s before flying off to the States. Having laid back from music for a while, Hardstone might now be preparing for a huge comeback.

He is currently recording tracks with other artists abroad, very different from what he was doing back here, but still good.

Here, have a taste of his new flavour of music and tell us what you think.

Under-fire promoter Hassan Waziri just made a comeback. See how it went.

For two consecutive days, Tanzanian rapper and singer, Mr. Blue performed at the new Dubai club ‘Deja Vu’ which is run by our very own Hassan Mwadzaya.

The performance kicked off from 1St to the 2Nd of June and as Hassan says, the show was a major turning point for the business as it was their first show at the venue.

‘Raila Dance’ to be launched this Saturday

It is the latest dance in town (read related article) and I have to say, also the weirdest and most interesting of all. Created by Cartel of Katenga Entertainment, the dance style is about to be launched for the first time on stage.

At the Radio Maisha Concert titled ‘Swagga Balaa’ that will be held in Machakos this Saturday, Cartel and Radio Maisha’s Peter Adams will be holding it down alongside DJ Kinyash at Club Wizard.

The event will kick off from 6PM till dawn and the entrance will go for Sh. 200.

If you are not already familiar with the ‘Raila Dance’, here is it’s official video. Check it out.

JAGUAR BUYS A BRAND NEW RANGE!

After all the back and forth talking about who jaguar may or may not have dissed, looks like he’s gotten even to the responses.

Jaguar seems to hold the adage that “money talks, bull *defecate* walks” close to heart and while people were busy wondering what he meant and (admitedly even i was) wondering about who had been dissed, he went and bought himself a brand new toy: a Range Rover Sport.
The car is silver metallic and he was spotted driving it earlier today along Uhuru Highway cruising in it and the beautiful car has no license plate as of yet.

RANGE SPORT
Talk about trolling like a boss! This is one sharp individual. Clearly, he has more than just business acumen, he has the Machiavellian je ne sais quoi! Think about it, he drops a diss about how certain artists are broke then a certain magazine publishes about how a gospel artist has taken offence and in the midst of all this hullabaloo, he get’s himself a new toy!
Boom shaka laka! In the words of Kanye, “Who gon’ stop us huh?!”

Texas residents woke up to Sauti Sol’s latest single… in the streets!

Sauti Sol are both original and unique in what they do and they never run out of ideas of juicing up their music and performances. The lengths that they actually go to, to ensure their fans’ pleasure is just breath taking.

Early last week, the quartet was at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge in Austin, Texas, armed with a guitar and awesome vocals to perform a version of their latest song ‘Love or Leave’. Chords were struck, harmonic voices raised and hearts touched as they sang their souls out to the morning joggers and walkers.

Sauti Sol are slowly emerging as the favorite band for most people, worldwide, due to their global tours.

Check out this video recorded at the park performance in Pfulger.

Win free tickets to Tusker Project Fame

In a bid to rope in more fans, TPF 5 decided to give away free tickets through facebook.

The idea was simple, get as many people involved in Tusker Project fame as posible. The system used was simple: the first four facebook fans to post a witty comment on a picture that the TPF page administrators had posted would win.

And they posted a picture of two contestants lounging as they chat. Here is the picture below:

Question is, what would you have come with? The ploy was a success as the TPF page has been inundated with comments. Clearly the idea was a success.
