Larry Madowo Launches New Show ‘Eye On Kenya’

As Larry Madowo exited the local broadcast scene recently from NTV to the South African channel CNBC Africa, everyone knew there would be a clear void in the industry as the country potentially lost one of its arguably greatest presenters to an international firm.

But on the evening of Monday the 18th of June 2012, all these fears were allayed with ABN360’s official launch of an exciting new weekly programme produced in its Nairobi Bureau offices. Larry Madowo will be at the helm of a brand new programme called ‘Eye on Kenya’ which seeks to highlight the country’s business and investment potential.

At the cocktail launch which was hosted at the Sankara Hotel in Nairobi, leading officials from the government, particularly from Brand Kenya and the Kenya Tourism Board, and the private sector, companies such as Kenya Commercial Bank and the Nation Media Group were in attendance.

Kenya’s Vision 2030 is a national development blue-print aimed at creating a globally competitive and middle-income nation with a high quality of life by 2030. The new CNBC show ‘Eye on Kenya’ takes a look at how the country is developing in achieving this goal.

The show looks critically at issues affecting Kenya’s various sectors. These range from energy and infrastructure development to finance, tourism and agriculture and what we hope will include the rapidly developing entertainment industry.

“CNBC Africa is the continent’s first and only 24 hour international business channel that delivers real-time information and insightful analysis about global business and Africa’s financial markets support. Partnership by key organisations such as Brand Kenya and the Kenya Tourism Board is important to us so that we can continue being first in business worldwide and highlight the continent’s success to the global community,” says Ali Naka, Business Development Manager-Africa, ABN360.

Introducing the trending topic of #TembeaKenya on Twitter, Larry welcomed the Tourism Board Managing Director Mureithi Ndegwa to talk about tourism, a task which he pulled off quite well, highlighting the fact that Kenya has alot more to offer than both domestic and local tourists have had the chance to experience.

There was a comical moment when he asked all the guests how many of them had taken a vacation in the last 2 months. When one hand went up, he clarified that even a simple trip across regions in the country counts as a ‘mini-vacation’. Also of note was that Mr. Ndegwa mentioned Kenya was ranked the 3rd best destination for Meetings and Conferences on the continent in 2011.

Later on Madowo mentioned that he had recently conducted an interview with American President Obama’s sister Auma Obama and he got it on record that they indeed come from the same village. The seasoned journalist was professional and humorous in how he carried out the launch and it was refreshing to see the event run smoothly.

Brand Kenya CEO Mary Kimunya was rather passionate with her speech and it was clear that black, red, green and white blood ran through her veins in a stern show of patriotism as she highlighted the strengths of Kenya and her people.

Finally, the Permanent Secretary in the country’s Information Ministry Bitange Ndemo was concisely eloquent with his remarks on the launch of CNBC’s new show.

‘I’ve been throughout the continent and I can safely and surely say there’s no tribe or language in Africa that has a translation for the word ‘productivity”, said the PS, adding that Kenya and Africa as a whole had to change specific policies on issues such as food security to sustain the population and spur economic development.

The Kenya Tourism Board was awarded the title of ‘Best Tourist Board in Africa’ at The Good Safari Guide Awards 2009 in the ‘Best Tourist Board’ category because of its positive and tangible work for the country and its travel industry in 2008.

The Brand Kenya Board on the other hand is tasked with the responsibility of identifying and refining the key attribute in Kenya that contribute positively to the image and reputation of the nation. Its goal is create an authentic, credible brand for the country that establishes its uniqueness in the global arena.

Eye on Kenya broadcasts on Wednesdays 19:30 East African Time, CNBC Africa, DStv channel 410 (repeats on Saturday 12 noon and 19h00, and on Sundays at 13h30) You can follow the show on Twitter through the handle: @eyeonkenya

How Man Wazimu’s Code Guides His Music Career

Man Wazimu doesn’t get much airplay on mainstream media despite his numerous tracks, videos and being named in All FM’s list of artistes to watch in 2009. One of the most striking qualities about the reggae artiste is his code.

Man Wazimu started researching about music in 2001 and started recording in 2003. Between then and now, he has switched recording studios twice. Mostly because they didn’t fit into his timing schedule. The artiste prefers to record in the morning and doesn’t appreciate tardiness. “If we agree 7:30 and 10 minutes later you haven’t arrived, you won’t find me there,” he said during a recent interview with Ghafla!

The artiste has had to turn down shows, even from abroad, either because they didn’t match his style or because he feared they would erode his street credibility. He turned down a concert in Costa Rica because it was a gospel song and he didn’t want to take the money at the expense of his street credibility. He also doesn’t want people confused into thinking that Emergency Pills is a gospel song, which is the reason he had been asked to perform in the Caribbean country in the first place.

The few non-community shows that he has agreed to take part in, he leaves immediately after his performance. “After I finish performing, five minutes, I’m out there. I don’t hang around.” He’s also had to turn down curtain raising for international artistes who are paid huge sums of money and he’s paid next to nothing. “Why perform for someone who’s ready to pay even half a million for an international artiste when they give you 30,000?” he asks.

He never breaks any of his codes, which have guided him to where he is today. He is currently promoting his first album, My Say, a 15-track effort which he recorded under Waunde Music.

It is now time to go all out on #teamprezzo

Okay, it’s about that time that we should really start worrying about our fellow Kenyan in the Big Brother Upville House. As most Upvillers have left the house, Prezzo gets more vulnerable by the day.

As Biggie just announced that the nominations for Upville are still on, I think it’s time you start voting if you haven’t been doing so. One thing I know for a fact is that #teamprezzo is currently trending in Angola right now. This doesn’t mean that we have to lay back.

I would suggest that you get to voting right now right here, for any other contestant that isn’t Kenyan in the Upville House (assuming of-course that you are a #teamprezzo supporter).

Prezzo will have to come home eventually, but let’s make him come back with the money and glory. #teamprezzo.

Don’t Stop this Artiste’s Music

The release of this fresh new kapuka track by an upcoming talented music artiste named HEZ is already increasing his fan base as Kenyans are largely positively receptive to the single.

The song is a fusion of both house music and Kenyan kapuka and was superbly blended by one of Kenya’s finest music producers, V-sita. The end product is the track USIKAZIE NGOMA.

The song is an upbeat and feel-good song that is meant to make everyone irrespective of age, gender or religion, get on their feet and move, make merry and dance.

Hez as an artist is a talented person with unique skills. Other than ‘Usikazie Ngoma’, he has done several songs which include ‘LYFSTYLE YA CAMPUS’ and ‘KAPUKA’. With each song he does, Hez grows more and more through the different genres.

The audience may no doubtly describe him as versatile as his music speaks volumes of his character and no words can better describe him than what he jots down with his pen and voices out in synchronised beats.

Press play, let the music fill the air and usikazie ngoma

Jimmy Gait: We can’t do music without money

It has been the talk of most critics and fans as well. Claims that the gospel artistes are doing their songs entirely for business and nothing to do with their faith. In short, every artist is after the gospel music industry to make money and not preach, so they say.

Many gospel artistes have fought against these claims. Jimmy Gait said his piece about this exclusively on a Ghafla! Interview, as real as it gets and not beating around the bush whatsoever.

“We can’t do music without money,” Jimmy said. “We also have to eat and make money. When you spend money, you have to make it in return.” Jimmy gait made it clear that his faith remains intact and that it doesn’t matter what other people think. Personally, I agree with every single word that Jimmy Gait says in this interview. Check it out.

MCSK Election Drama As Told Through Tweets

Happening right now. Following the #MCSKelections hashtag, it seems all is not going well at the voting venue of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya elections. Drama started when artistes were told they couldn’t pick the new MCSK leaders because voting had already taken place.

This year’s elections are being looked on as a revolution. Artists want to be the ones to occupy the top posts and rapper, Nonini is also in the running. The following tweets outline the genesis and resolution of the deadlock that pitted the artists and the current leaders of the MCSK.

Video: Final cut of the exclusive Jimmy Gait and Holy Dave inside story

As you have probably seen in some of our previous articles, we have been uploaded segments of the exclusive interview that we did with Gospel artistes Jimmy Gait and Holy Dave.

As much as we talked about their ‘Make it or Make it’ campaign, we also covered sensitive topics involving their lives and music.

The third part of the interview is now available. Check it out.

Calvo Mistari comes back with ‘Private Wing’

It’s been quite a while since we last heard from the rapper Calvo Mistari. He is now back in the music scene and denies ever been lost with his first lyrics “mi bado niko, bado nipo, bado style yangu ni tai kwondo“.

Calvo Mistari introduces his new crew and sound with his new song, ‘Masela’ which has a party feeling to it. Full of rappers and diverse flows, this track does quite an introduction of artistes and I have to say that the video is also on point.

You can also download ‘masela’ through this link right here. Check out the video below.

Is Junia the next disqualification catalyst

I don’t mean or intend to bring up bad vibes, I am just merely stating the facts. Take a look at these turn of events that have coincidentally unfolded every time a member from Downville joins the Upville House.

Zainab came, saw, and was eventually conquered by DKB. Even before this, she was constantly at loggerheads with other housemates, especially DKB who wasn’t just going to sit and take it lightly.

Notice that it is only the female contestants (from Downville) that are bringing up all this mayhem. Maneta was fun at first, up until she started throwing herself to Keitta with little consideration of the guy’s interest. I have to admit though. I never saw her beef with Roki coming, but I guess it was bound to happen one time or another.

Now, Junia is the only female from Downville left in Upville, and Prezzo is the only originally Upville man left in the house. Let’s just cross our finger and hope that the two will get along, because if not, I’m seeing another disqualification from a mile away.

Upville Housemates come clean about their feelings for Maneta

You’d think that all the crying and sombre mood was all because Roki was kicked out of the house and nothing involving Maneta who was also disqualified from the game.

Seems almost everyone is happy she left the house as they discussed today morning, full of laughter. They were all taking turns talking about their experiences with her and what they really feel about her.

If only Maneta was there to hear all that they were discussing, “Young, dumb and full of …”

You just have to see this.

A sample of old school Kenyan music. Great!

There shall never be good music like the old jams, be it in rock, reggae, lingala, hiphop, or even Kenyan music. Old is always gold, and let’s just face it, some of the music today… [smh]. Whatever happened to lyrics composition? What’s up with all the scribbling?

Then again, I’m not the only listener around. Anyway, just like me, you might have been waiting and hoping for a mixtape containing only the best of old school Kenyan music. I’m talking about songs from artists like E-Sir, Hardstone, Kalamashaka, Mercy Myra (back in the days), just to mention a few.

Well, it is now the time to press play on this new mixtape done by K1 and uploaded just this month, titled ‘Old School Kenyan Music Sample‘. This is a chance to re-live the legendary times that created the Kenyan music backbone.

Here is the link to the mix which is also available for download.

Upvillers marvel at Prezzo’s music video

After all that the Upville housemates went through yesterday, Biggie had to do something to kill the sombre mood that had taken over the house.

Goldie was the first one to wake up (as usual) only to find Channel O playing their music videos. She immediately ran up-stares to give the 411 to the rest of the housemates, who wasted no time in getting down, unlike the rest of the mornings.

They all knew that Prezzo’s videos would be shown and they could not hide their excitement as they eargerly waited. Prezzo and Kaz’s song, ‘Nataka Tupendane’ played minutes later and they all enjoyed it. Even Barbs couldn’t hide it.

Goldie had to drop everything she was doing and just sat down, watching the video with a wide grin on her face you’d think Prezzo just proposed to her. It was a good feeling too, for Prezzo because he was even happier than the rest of the housemates.

It’s about time everyone in the house knew what Kenya’s Prezzo can do. That was indeed a proud moment for us.

Check out the video.

BBA UPDATE: MOST HATED CONTESTANT IS…

BBA is carrying out a survey that seeks to establish the most unpopular contestant in Upville.

No shocker about who the villian of the house is but when it comes to the second most hated contestant, i was truly surprised. Barbs really just isn’t a people person. She is the hated wicked witch of the west! Barbs has been unable to connect with the audience save for obnoxious nationalists from her home country and this is no shock. She has a superiority complex due to the simple fact that she is from the land down South: the land of Madiba.

While i understand her pride in being a citizen from Africa’s most developed country, i for one can’t see how that affects the rate of artificial insemination in Botswana ergo i don’t see why she should be as uppity as she is.

The shocker however is that Prezzo was second, albeit a distant second. The survey which sought to establish which gossiping housemate from Upville should go home this coming Sunday had Kenya’s King of Bling was ahead of Maneta (whose already gone) which means that he seriously needs top rethink his strategy. Problem is, no one is there to tell him that he needs to move on to a new gameplan.

Here is are the results of the survey as of a couple of minutes ago:

‘Baby’ Got Involved in Shuga Because She Thought Idris Elba Would Feature

We all have those little or major things which push us the extra mile and celebrities are not that different when it comes to a defining and go-get moment.

The shining actress, Nancy Wanjiku, otherwise known as ‘Baby’ in the Shuga: Love Sex Money series or ‘Tasha’ in NTV’s Beba Beba, recently revealed what made her audition for a role in Shuga in the the first place. All this despite reservations she held about actually landing the role of a 16 year old girl with father issues in the hit drama.

Nancy (or Shico as she loves to be called) had heard of the possibility of American Actor Idris Elba staring in the series and all she could see was her landing the opportunity of featuring alongside such an established actor in the industry.

Idris Elba

BBA Update: Prezzo cries!

Didn’t know Prezzo could get this emotional about a game but then again, it only goes to show that you never know.

After Roki’s exit, Prezzo was gobsmacked for a minute probably from shock then as the reality of the whole unfortunate event surrounding his exit sunk in, Prezzo cried.

The two had a bromance going on between them which sort of looked like Batman and Robin’s. Prezzo took the time to mourn his erstwhile ally’s exit and Goldie consoled him like the proper African lass she is.

PREZZO

Talk about standing by your man! Kenyan lasses stand to learn alot from this Nigerian songstress! But moving on swiftly, it was gutting to watch Prezzo tear up about his boy but bromances are a deep affair between two friends!

Check out the video below:

Sanaipei Tande and Jua Cali collaborate on yet another track. Here’s the video.

There first collaboration took the Kenyan music scene by storm. It was the song that was frequently played on radio, TV and even matatus. The two did quite a number of performances for that one song accompanied by other individual works.

Seeing that the vocals and rap combination of the two did wonders, they couldn’t hold back on more. Thus came ‘Geti Kali’, their new collaborative track. Speaking of holding back, Sanaipei doesn’t do that at all in this new, just released video. Dressed in a tight black outfit, Sana frees herself in the streets of Nairobi in a kind of naughty and interesting way.

The song is more or less about the girl that you’ve always wanted but couldn’t get to because of her extravagant nature. Jua Cali on the other hand comes in on the third verse with his rebellious and ‘don’t care’ lyrics, referring to the same extravagant nature that Sana tries to portray.

All in all, you just have to see for yourself. I have a feeling we’ll all have different opinions over this one.

A Techno Mix In Memory of the Late Hon. Saitoti

As tributes and condolences to the families of Honorables Saitoti and Ojodeh, as well as the 4 other occupants of the helicopter, the pilot and his co as well as two bodyguards continue to flow in, Kenyan production guru Luther of SNL productions has pieced together a unique first.

The talented producer has come up with a techno/house themed song dedicated to the memory of the mathematics professor who passed on in the accident about two weeks ago.

Have a listen to the track ‘There Comes a Time’ below and tell us what you think about it…

A Mix-Tape in tribute to E-Sir Mmari

It’s about time we had an awesome mix-tape with songs only from the legendary, most favorite Kenyan rapper of all time, E-Sir Mmari. I am not just saying this because he is deceased, but because he was simply the most original and lyrical of the ‘uptown’ rappers till date.

If you owned E-Sir’s album, ‘NIMEFIKA‘, I don’t think you would disagree with anything I have just said about the rapper. DJ Crooks seems to be on the same page on this one. His latest mixtape is entirely dedicated to the nationally beloved rapper.

The mixtape titled ‘Tribute to Issah Mmari a.k.a E-Sir’ was just released this month and is already receiving good play and download, through mixcrate.com.

If you miss mature and meaningful Kenyan lyrics, click hear to listen and download the mixtape, courtesy of DJ Crooks.

Back to 1909: Kenya’s First Film Ever

Despite obvious gains made over the years, the Kenyan film industry hasn’t grown as much as it has potential to. It will come as a surprise to many when they learn that Kenya has a richer film history, and one that stretches further than most African countries.

The first film in Kenya was shot in 1909, at a time when the medium was not only transition in the United States, they also hadn’t fully learned how to fully take advantage of the fairly new discovery. Theatres were just beginning to pop up and artistes were just learning how to use it to tell stories. At this time, film had only been discovered 16 years earlier.

A man who went on to be President of the United States was visiting the country when he commissioned a wildlife photographer to follow his adventures. Theodore Roosevelt’s trip across the country was also the first documentation of Kenya in moving pictures. There are a few inconsistencies, though, which might have been due to the editor’s ignorance: assuming all Africans are Zulus. The women are obviously Agikuyu. Nevertheless, the film is a fascinating look at “native” life in the early 1900s.

Young artists going H.A.M on the veterans!

The youngins are hungry and they aren’t willing to wait!

Kenrazy recently released a song in which he put all the veterans on alert. He basically declared open season on everyone. This is a ballsy move that i hope he can back up. He also claimed the throne of the best lyricist in the land.
Although this to some may be seen as a controversial move, it’s nothing new. Collo in the past declared himself king wa rap and he drew the ire of everyone in the industry.

Octopizzo is also taking shots at Abbas. Not too sure about where the beef originated from but all i know is that the cool kidz are telling the veterans that they will not be ignored!

COOLA GANG MIXTAPE

Coola Gang who talk about there struggles with getting airplay are also saying that they will not be ignored and the one thing that is clear is that these guys are tired of being out in the cold and they are tired of recieving slights from those already established.

The one thing that Kenyan heavyweights need to know is that unless they want to deal with a situation in which not just the leaders of the cool kidz and their fanbase turn away entirely from them, they need to embrace the new wave. Kenya’s entertainment industry is opening up but for the old guard to remain relevant they have to surf the new wave!

Collo has entirely embraced the cool kidz and is often in collabos with upstarts and doing songs that entertain this segment. He has a collabo with Camp Mulla and AJ (which he absolutely killed).

Check out Collo showing the cool kidz some musical love:

Kenrazy has begun and there doesn’t seem to be any stopping him. Let’s just wait to see whether this trend will have a snowball effect.

Kenrazy is Kenya’s Best Lyricist…Or So He Says

Kenrazy and DJ Gavnah have collaborated on Ghipuka Mixx Part 1. On it, he makes some rather boastful–if not confrontational–statements about his place on the Kenyan music totem. At the top. Right at the beginning, he claims to be the best Kenyan lyricist, then goes ahead to try and prove it on the 14-minute mix.

Kenrazy burst on to the Kenyan music scene with Ti Chi, a song that was already a huge at F2 where he used to perform as an upcoming artiste. None of his subsequent songs have dethroned Ti Chi in terms of popularity but they gain considerable play in clubs.

You can decide to block out his previous efforts and give him the benefit of a doubt and decide for yourself if he deserves the self-imposed title.

BBA: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!

It’s said that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned aye?

Well, Man (Maneta) rewrote that! Hell hath no fury like a Maneta scorned!

Did you catch the angry lass’ rant after being evicted from the BBA house due to her lack of proper strategy &/or anger management techniques? She tore into Prezzo, the lovely Nigerian nightingale Goldie and Keitta.

I do believe the lass is bilingual because the French she employed to drive the point about her hate for these contestants was kray! She went in on these contestants in such a foul mouthed rant that one can’t help but wonder how she will fare in her pursuit of a legal career.

Watch the video:

Maneta and Roki out but how does that affect Prezzo’s chances?

So Maneta and Roki have been booted from BBA after having an altercation.

What does that mean for Prezzo seeing as he was up for elimination before Goldie saved him? Well, for starters, his erstwhile ally has been eliminated in the form of Roki. They had established a voting bloc between the lads at the house but that seems to be of no consequence anymore.

Now Barbs has the upperhand unless Prezzo can find a way to be on the rest of the players’ good side. If he can’t then he may aswell begin packing his bags -that’s how bad Barbs agenda is! But fortunately, he has 2 weeks to get new team players on his side.
Conversely, Barbs has a fellow countryman in the shape of Keagan (which is kray unfair when you take the patriotic factor into perspective). Real sneaky of the BBA lads, they realised they didn’t stand a chance in Downville, they have now taken to pushing a South African agenda in Upville using simple numerical advantage.
But now we will all have some peace of mind since Man is finally out of our faces! Prezzo chances have just surged if he can navigate the cerberus that is Barbs.

Maneta and Roki Disqualified From Big Brother

Maneta and Roki have been disqualified from Big Brother Africa Stargame after the two contravened the violence rule.

Big Brother Rules state that violence in the House is strictly prohibited. Violence can refer to self-inflicted violence, or violence towards another. Violence includes provocation, goading, bullying and victimisation.

Big Brother, and its Producers, reserve the right to disqualify any Housemates whose actions are in direct contravention of the House Rules.

The disqualification of the two Zimbabwean Housemates comes shortly after Zainab and DKB were also disqualified from the show after DKB slapped Zainab.

Many of the other contestants were taken aback by the decision. Keita and Goldie were vocal in their displeasure. Goldie burst into tears, as Prezzo and the others were visibly distraught. Here is the video of the entire incident. Leave your interesting or creative responses in the comment section below:

An internationally acclaimed film that was released in the run-up to the 2010 World Cup will be screened in Kenya for the first time on the 21st of June at 7:00 p.m. Africa United will show at the Goethe Institute on Maendeleo House, Monrovia Street as part of the Film Aid Refugee Film Fesival

It is an uplifting film that tells the story of a mismatched group of kids who are trying to make their way to South Africa to witness the opening ceremony of the first Soccer World Cup to be hosted on African soil. A few mishappenings and they are taken on a cross-country journey across the continent. It is a coming-of-age story that fuses a road-trip movie with sports and comedy.

The film was nominated for a Douglas Hickox Award at the British Independent Film Awards and Best Feature at 2010 Los Angeles Pan-African Film Festival, neither of which it won. The film, however, won the Bronze Horse at the Stockholm Film Festival in 2011.

The film gained favourable reviews on Time Out, The Guardian and the online version of Empire Magazine. It has an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Debs Patterson’s directorial debut has been referred to by many reviewers as the African Slumdog Millionaire. The film also stars former child soldier, now musician, Emmanuel Jal.

Calif Records introduces ‘Pesa kwa Madem’

Calif Records has been known to introduce new artistes from time to time and they are usually successful later on. I can’t even begin to list the number of artistes that are products of calif Records who are now influential in the Kenyan music industry.

You should then know that it is a big deal when two new artistes (one of them not so new) bring us a song that is currently already receiving air play and controversies. Rapper TN and Saiz 2, both from Nakuru have taken over the Calif Records name by their new track, ‘Pesa kwa madem’ which is gaining popularity very fast among the youth, especially in Nakuru.

I took the time to listen to the track and I have to say that this time, calif Records have really outdone themselves. The track has a certain hype that is accompanied by humour from the lyrics which are available here.

Have a listen to the track right here.

These are Kenya’s hardest working artists!

Ever wondered who Kenya’s hardest working artists are?

Well, wonder no more. I have compiled a list of 2 emcees whose workrate is simply astounding! These guys aren’t like the established lads and lasses who do a track bi-annually (if we are only so lucky!).

These two are lads who though haven’t recieved mainstream love of late are actually quite gifted and it’s honestly just a matter of time!

I’m talking about Kenrazy and Man Wazimu. Kenrazy has been on his grizzy both in the mainstream and on the underground. Man Wazimu however has been doing his thing and has been going H.A.M on an alternative outlet: YouTube!

And all this is despite the fact that both have alternate lives and responsibilities. Kenrazy is a student at a local university and Man Wazimu has a day job as a radio deejay at Ghetto FM.

I think their work ethic is commendable. They are truly hardworking. hats off to the duo and hopefully they will continue to give us good music and eventually supernova!

Kenrazy drops a hot new track!

One of Kenya’s most hardworking emcees is back with a brand new track featuring his girlfriend and partner Sosuun.

The pair are reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde have been consistent on their hassle and they have come up with this track.
The uptempo and high octane track is sure to resonate with everyone who loved Kenrazy’s first track “Tichi”. ‘Razy starts by declaring himself the best lyricist in Kenya at the moment then declares open season on the game’s veterans. Pretty brave move by any means.
The track features some sick instrumentals and by my estimations is more hiphop than ghipuka but que sera sera i guess. Sosuun does well to keep up with ‘Razy as he goes in on it and i dare say she is Kenya’s best female lyricist and if not the best, then she’s pretty close to the top!
