Epic! Documentary on South African singer Spoek Mathambo and Sauti Sol’s EP now available

Sauti Sol are undoubtedly the biggest band in Kenya right now. Having concerts all over the world and actually thrilling their audiences in each and every performance has made them some what of an international band. Even though their fans from abroad may not understand the Swahili language (which is used in most of their songs), their voices are just breathtaking and there is no turning back once you hear it. That much is evident.

Recently, South African celebrated singer and producer, Spoek Mathambo came to Kenya with one main agenda. To make an EP with our beloved Sauti Sol. The combination of these five sensational singers cannot fail to humble you down. Just like the wind, this EP will contain music that will blow/carry you  away.

A leading videographer known as Lebogang Rasethaba learnt about this epic collaboration and could just not miss it. Better yet, he was thoughtful enough to know that the rest of the world would also not want to miss this awesome creation. This is why he created this beautiful documentary titled ‘Voices Of The Sun‘ that was shot through the entire ten days that the EP was recorded. The documentary takes us through the entire sessions of the EP creation with these talented musicians.

Check out the documentary below.

MC Mwakenya to launch his own clothing line

He came out with his first track taking shots at Octopizzo mercilessly. Although Octo has never shot back, MC Mwakenya has continued with his music nevertheless, making a name for himself in the music industry.

He might be taking huge strides already as he is now set to launch his own clothing line this month. MC Mwakenya’s clothing line will include T-Shirts and pants, with the M#254 logo on them, after which some merchandise will follow.

Ther is no telling how the clothing line will do on the market at the moment, but I guess will just have to wait and see. I can’t help but notice though, that numerous artistes are now venturing into the fashion business. I wonder who’s next.

The track is aimed at the haters, the kind of people who try to derail their friends by negatively influencing them thus messing up their dreams and careers in the future.

On Stomp On Them, Raj features Kapella, one of the members of rap group, Coola Gang. Raj produced the track himself. Check out Stomp On Them below.

Check out this awesome hip hop party song

Kenyan youths are now going hard on this music stuff and it’s just so interesting and entertaining to see new artistes rise everyday with worthy music under their names.

These artistes are however not new at all. Mjeledi and Iannoh have actually been in the music industry for a minute but have unfortunately maintained their pose as underground artistes for reasons best known to themselves. Either way, their new music is definitely something to take note of and watch out for. The complete version is not out yet but they have just released a teaser of the video, which looks pretty awesome.

The song titled ‘Elimisha‘ will be launched soon and will be available on Ghafla as soon as it’s out. Meanwhile, check out the teaser.

Are You An Easy Lay? A Song For You

Are you an easy girl? Do you get with celebrities for fame and publicity? Then Bamra Lochaz has a song for you. His new track, Don B Eazy, talks about easy girls and also advices them to be wary and take  time before getting into relationships. The song is also an anthem for the “Gyallis” (players).

Inspiration for the song came during a freestyle session at their studio with another artiste, Liqweed. The producer then put on a beat and Bamra Lochaz went along with it, and the result is Don B Eazy. The song was later re-recorded, a cleaner version for airplay which was released this week.
Bamra Lochaz works with various studios but he mainly records at ATL Entertainment. He markets his music through Eastlandor Empire. Bamra Lochaz is currently working on a mixtape, Bay Badness, which means “bare badness.” Don B Easy was produced by Andrew of ATL Entertainment. He is promising that 2012 is a dancehall takeover and he won’t let the fans down. Check out Don B Easy below.

Lady May not impressed by Prezzo’s acts

Prezzo is at it again. Entertaining BBA viewers to the maximum but sadly, at the expense of one of the housemates. Good thing is that this time, it’s really not his fault, but just part of the week’s secret task that every housemate has been assigned to.

Prezzo’s task this week is to act like Lady May in every way possible. Like I said before, this is a really tough task to do, having in mind all the crazy stuff Lady May does. So, as we all know Prezzo, he’s gone H.A.M on his task, to the extent of even sleeping outside the house at night, as Lady May is so fond of.

This has not gone well with Lady May, according to Prezzo. Prezzo claims that she is very pissed off with him and that she cannot hide it anymore. He explained to Wati and he declared to go even harder on the task just to see what Lady May will eventually do. This should be interesting. Let’s wait and see.

Beerfest: the celebration that was

So you missed out on Beerfest huh? Then my good man, it sucks to be you! And ladies, if you weren’t at Beerfest, dump your boyfriend.

That’s simply because Beerfest rocked like a geologist! i have been accussed of being a sucker for good organization, friendly security staff that is actually competent and i make no apologies for that!
Arts and Beerfest was a true honest to goodness celebration of art and everything frothy. From murals and paintings to artefacts to beer from EABL, Brew Bistro’s signature brands to American brands.
The artwork was simply stellar and the tattooing done by the likes of Gathu the Madkid, Wayside tattoos et al was sick! Security was crazy organised and seemed to be prepared to stem any trouble including the exchange of Soviet era nuclear codes!
And they did so with a smile on their faces. If that isn’t the epitome of cool security, then i don’t know what is! And the lingerie show? That was a little uncomfortable seeing as i was standing next to lads with boners. I guess that goes to show just how good it was.
Everything ran like clockwork and the party kept going thanks to the deejays and the performers.
And ladies, i reiterate, next time get with a lad like me: i can go all night baby, i’m nocturnal! And i went all night and all day the next day just like the party. Check out some of the sights you missed as Arts and Beerfest gorritin!

True Blood Actress Coming to Kenya to Shoot Documentary

True Blood actress, Kristen Bauer van Stratten is expected in the country this month. The artiste is coming to Kenya to shoot a documentary on poaching. The documentary will specifically deal with rhino horn and elephant ivory poaching. She is expected to stay in the country for weeks during the course of the shoot.

She needs to raise funding for the project, though. She has raised $20,000 of the $30,000 she needs on Kickstarter. To entice people to sign up for the project, she is giving out True Blood castmates-signed merchandise to selected funders. An interesting item that is yet to be claimed is a Sookie bra. Although her Kickstarter target is $30,000, the project will cost about $90,000.

Kristen, who plays Pam on True Blood, is taking the project very personally. “The documentary world is a passionate world of people wanting to do something for their soul. Hopefully my soul will be very enriched, because my bank account is suffering,” she said.

This was the best condom advert that Kenya has ever done

This was way back around 2005-2006 when adverts were really shallow and poorly done. This Trust Condom advert however switched the game up with this very interesting and entertaining video that brought only one thing to mind.

When it aired on our televisions, it brought up that awkward moment that the ‘mpango wa kando‘ advert brings up this days, except, it put a smile on the face.

Check out this amazing advertisement… you only find condoms that huge in Africa.

From Mr. Bean to Churchill: What do the two have in common?

What do Churchill and Mr. Bean have in common?

Remember Mr. Bean’s iconic car the Mini Cooper? Well that’s what the two have in common. Last weekend, Churchill joined a team Mini Cooper enthusiasts and owners in a cross country race from Nairobi to Machakos that was flagged off by Standard Media Group at the Standard Group Centre.

all this was done to elevate the profile of the Masaku 7s Rugby Tournament set for it’s inaugural scrum-down this weekend at the Machakos Golf.

Meet The Guy Who Advocated For Caroline Mutoko’s Sacking

His name is Mohamed Shaiya.

He is the current chairman of KTDC. When he saw that Caroline Mutoko had been appointed as chairlady, he raised hell for the minister of Tourism, Dan Mwazo. He complained that the whole appointement had been conducted illegally.

Shaiya’s lawyer, Hassan Lakicha, told the High Court, “The first respondent is morally and legally obligated to uphold the rule of law which enjoins him to comply with and respect the Constitution, statues as interpreted by the courts. His action against the applicants is a gross transgression of the law. This non-disclosure is in breach of the cardinal rules of natural justice which provides that no person is to be condemned unheard”

That’s a pretty hard case to argue against. Damn.

The judge had to call it. Eventually, Justice Cecilia Githua suspended the gazette notice through which the Tourism minister had appointed Mutoko, and members Mr Vincent Watti, Ms Dorah Waruiru, Mr Vincent Mwalenga Mwakia and Mr Nassir Ali Said.
