Here’s The 2nd Presidential Debate If You Missed It

Attacks and counter-attacks is what characterized the second and final round of the presidential debate for all the eight aspirants. With TNA’s Uhuru Kenyatta making a U-turn and confirming his participation after earlier on writing a letter withdrawing from the debate, it was sure going to be hot like coal.

And sweltering it was! With the belligerent land issue on the table, the debate saw finger-pointing and subsequent rejoinders reign in.  The unyielding moderators took to task the main contenders on issues corruption considering their names have been mentioned adversely in some grand graft cases.

Other than that, the presidential candidates engaged each other on matters regarding post-election violence and their role in reforms. With only six days left for Kenyans to go to the ballot, the eight candidates promised to improve the lives of Kenyans with much focus being on implementation of the Constitution, fighting poverty through job creation, education and a renewed war on graft.

The Despicable Robert Alai Toasts To The News Of Samuel Kivuitu’s Passing!

The news of someone’s passing is often met with sorrow and sombreness. It is a tragic occurrence and even though it is a surety even more so than death, the blow of death is not dulled on bit. The death of Samuel Kivuitu’s death rent the internets last night to alot of mixed reactions.

Some offered messages of condolence to his family. Others of Robert Alai’s ilk toasted the news. This is unAfrican and actually inhumane. Robert Alai chose to toast the death asthough he had been eagerly awaiting news of Kivuitu’s death with excitement. But what can you expect from the likes of Robert Alai who posts false stories and starts rumours in a juvenile attempt to get attention from people? Someone who prays for Kileleshwa residents to be violently robbed and the women raped?

I just realized i am guilty of giving him too much airtime…. Damn. I’m done. But before i go, here’s what Alai posted:

“So my sources were right that Kivuitu died? After Kihara Mutu, he needed to die so quickly. We couldn’t go for elections with Kivuitu alive.”

I’m impressed by the fact that most of the commentors sought to admonish the fool… Now brace yourselves for another picture of me at some event i didn’t go to to turn up on the internets. I’m quivering.

According to information we have received, Kivuitu was at the hospital for a routine check up before he collapsed and was then rushed to the ICU. His body will be transferred to the Lee Funeral home awaiting burial. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

PRESENTING: Madharau Mirfat, The First Tujuane Meme

So Friday’s edition of the dating show Tujuane has kicked up a right storm. There was a girl on there called Mirfat Musa, who was arrogant to say the least. She had standards that only a French prince could match.

A Tweep called droid254 came up with a few funny images of her, and I thought why not make this a meme and open it up to the whole public to make their own versions?

So here goes. Presenting MADHARAU MIRFAT: a meme representative of middle-class Kenyan girls who feel too good for their own good. Here is the meme template:

And you can create your own versions here: http://memegenerator.net/Madharau-Mirfat (no login needed)

Here are some examples of some ‘Madharau Mirfat’ memes created so far:

Kenyans Aren’t Finished With Mirfat Yet! They Are Now Making Her Dance The Ugly Dance!

Mirfat, hell hath no fury like a Kenyan scorned! Never ever talk about any of your fellow Kenyans with scorn! For those of you not in the know about what this article is about, i’m referring to Mirfat the lass from Friday’s episode of Tujuane. The lass with alot of “madharau”.

Kenyans have refused to forgive her obnoxious and douchebag statements and are still going H.A.M on her! Kratos would be so proud! But away from God Of War, i want to give you a link to what some creative Kenyan has created just to share the humour with my niblings! Here it is, from your dede Chim Tuna:

DEBATE: Ghetto Radio’s “Herbs Promotion.” Right or Wrong?

Ghetto Radio prides itself on being the official sheng station for the poor masses.

This makes it such that one of their staple music types is reggae music, which is closely affiliated to the rastafari culture. Key to this rasta culture is the smoking of weed, marijuana, bhangi, or any other fancy name you wish to ascribe to it. This association between weed and reggae has led to many songs about ‘di herb’ being written. These herbal songs receive massive airplay on Ghetto Radio, and the hosts of their various shows can be heard openly promoting the green stuff.

When you step back and think about it, there are two sides of this coin. There are the people, like myself, who say that weed is not really dangerous, and mostly causes people to have a free and easy time(AND finish all the food in the house!) while there are others who look at the strict letter of the law, as well as religious trains of thought that dictate that marijuana is illegal and shouldn’t be promoted.

What do you think of Ghetto Radio‘s pro-weed stance in this Kenya of ours? Are you for or against it? Uko na mbrr ama hauna mbrrcha yeyote? Leave your interesting or creative responses in the comment section below:

Flesh of my Flesh: Documentary Showing Women At The Coast Selling Their Daughters As Prostitutes For Less Than 100 Bob

KTN have done it again with another scathing documentary about the underworld of Kenyan life.

KTN have forged a niche in the investigative journalism niche, with them being known for their Jicho Pevu series by award winning journalists John Allan-Namu and Mohammed Ali. Now there’s a brand new rising star named Angel Katusia who has thrown herself into the mix. Her name is and she has come out with a hard-hitting investigative piece on the family business that is prostitution in Kenya’s coastal region.

In this expose, we see coastal mothers selling their daughters off to various suitors for a night of pleasure. The price range is shocking. Offers were varying from 100 bob, 80 bob, 70 bob, and even the low, low price of 50 shillings!

To make matters worse, these were 7-8 year olds that were being auctioned off. As if these small girls are supposed to know di ting!

And that’s not the worst part! The worst part is that the venue for this senseless debauchery was not a room, not even an animal’s stable, but in the clear, open bush! This combination of sexploitation, child labour and human rights abuse was happening in front of the camera’s glare!

The reasons given for these acts of desperation were lack of money and dependency on drugs. Both being at epidemic proportions in the coast

For those of you interested in seeing the whole action for yourself, Angel Katusia captured it in the following video:

Uhuru Will Show Up for Tonight’s Debate After All

Looks like the Jubilee candidate will take the podium tonight at the debate.

Even today, the day of the final presidential debate, there were still doubts as to whether Uhuru Kenyatta would make an appearance on what promises to be one of the year’s biggest TV events.

Uhuru, through a statement, had earlier announced that he had dropped out of tonight’s debate after the first one, which took place two weeks ago, had turned out to be more of a roast for him.

He, together with his closest rival, Raila Odinga, also failed to show up for the church-organized presidential debate at the All Saints Cathedral last week. The debate, which is the last, comes a few days after Uhuru was said to be the leading presidential candidate after an opinion poll by Ipsos Synovate.

The debate will be shown across eight leading TV networks and 32 radio stations. This round of the debate will be moderated by Citizen TV’s Uduak Amimo and KTN‘s Joe Ageyo who take over from Citizen‘s Linus Kaikai and Julie Gichuru from the first ever presidential debate.

HBR’s Amina Viciously Attacked By Rapper Kimya

Ladies and gents, frogs and toads, Kimya -Bamboo’s baby bro- is a man on a mission! And he has Amina in his crosshairs! Thing about Kimya, he speaks his mind and damned be the consequences. If he thinks it, he’ll say it. If he feels it, you’ll know it.

And Kimya took to Facebook to get his point across to Amina. Kimya feels that Amina disrespects Kenya’s hiphop scene and specifically the rappers who participated in Kisima Awards ceremony’s cypher.

And Kimya wasn’t pulling his punches nor mincing his words. Here’s what he had to say:

“F*ck that b**ch named Amina from Homeboyz Entertainment. She can eat a d*ck. Tell her Kimya said it. Period.”

jay-a_amina.jpgjay-a_amina.jpg

And he’s also just posted this: “i cant believe that dumb*ss Amina tried to air my beef on homeboyz radio..
So unprofessional. not that i thought ya’ll were on point or anything. ya’ll suck so bad you couldnt even keep your frequency. Ghetto Radio 89.5 has more listeners than you.. Ima go air my problems over there.. how many people do you think i can reach? 5000? 10000? 15000? 30000? or even upo 50000? i bet i can get a few hundred people to boycott Homeboyz come to think of it.
Not that they even care about you all like that but, im just saying. then ima see about taking legal action.

I will be giving Amina a call later in the day to get her 2cents on what’s happening.

Goldie’s Husband Finally Allowed To Pay His Last Respects

They say every good thing must come to an end. And the story of the life of the beautiful and precious Goldie is no different. It’s sad that it was cut short but atleast we have the memories that will live on. Goldie’s husband was denied a visa late last week but it seems that he was able to solve those issues in time as he was by his wife’s side today saying his last goodbyes.

It is sad however that Andrew Leonard Harvey refused to allow Prezzo the same mercies but that na life-o! It was a sad and sombre affair as Goldie was finally laid to rest. Here are some photographs of her husband bidding her farewell. May she rest in eternal peace in the bossom of the Almighty!

Andrew pays last respect.

And The Tujuane Memes Begin! Kenyans Get Creative With Trolling Mirfat! This Is Funny!

Ladies and gentlemn, it has begun! Actually, it begun way earlier but the point is, Kenyans have begun to creatively troll Mirfat of the Tujuane dating show fiasco. And i’m going to share with you the funniest and the most creatively done meme. Why? Well, because nephews and neices, i am your Uncle Chim Tuna. Your Uncle cannot laugh alone can he?

 And i present to you:

Jay A releases a new hot video

Jay A blew up in the Kenyan music scene not so long ago. Infact, he’s been holding it down for the Kenyan music industry for just months now, yet, he has somehow managed to become one of the biggest stars right now.

When long time artistes seek collaboration with a new rapper, then you know this kid gotta be really good.

DJ Nruff just released his latest track titled ‘Doing it right’, featuring various rappers like Calvo Mistari, Petra, Nessa and ofcourse, Jay A. Don’t let his age fool you. This track has no innocent feel or lyrics at all. This is straight up ‘sex music’, the kind that will get many in the mood, especially when you check out the video.

The track is just a week old and is already receiving mad love.

Check out the video below.

Dating TV Show Tujuane Inadvertently Discovers Kenya’s Next Celebrity!

I watched this episode and couldn’t help but roll on the floor laughing like a madman! This has to be the best episode aired on Kenyan TVs this entire year! All 2 months of the year anyway! For those of you not in the know, Tujuane is a dating show that seeks to bring two individuals desperate enough to appear on telly together for a date and potentially a relationship thereafter.

https://www.ghafla.co.ke/components/com_jce/editor/tiny_mce/plugins/article/img/readmore.png); clear: both; color: red; font-family: Tahoma, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: auto; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-position: 50% 50%; background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat;”>

And good God this episode was one for the hall of shame! The show introduced George, a lad from Kasarani who was hooked up with Mirfat, a beautiful lass from the leafy surbubs of South C.

I shan’t go into too much details about that but what i will say is that the date was a disaster because of the lass’ behaviour. What a dreadful affair for the poor lad. But i got to thinking and i wondered which type of lass this girl would be if you met her at the club. Remember i did a piece about that last year? Read about it here.

Anyway, by my estimates, this Mirfat would be Ms. Gold Digger and Ms. Time Waster. Why? Well, she can clearly afford to drink what she orders for but she cannot pronounce it and thinks it’s posh to order nonetheless. She’ll order for Cognac and call it Konyagi! This lass on Tujuane was just off! How do you talk about the Australian Opening? Australia Opening what? A can of worms? Andy Mureithi shuddered when you confused him with Andy Murray!

And why was she so persistent about putting poor George down? And for the record, plastic money is the way to go. Uncle Chim Tuna only pays his bills with plastic cards! I smell a meme coming on… Madharau Mirfat!

Here is the Tujuane Episode That Trended Worldwide

Tujuane is probably the biggest show on TV right now, and Friday’s episode solidified that fact.

They recently unveiled a new host and had one of their biggest shows ever last Friday. The date was between George, a DOP and production shop owner and Mirfat, a high-class chips intolerant Julie Gichuru employee. The episode’s hashtag (#tujuane) trended not only locally but worldwide.

The debate about Mirfat’s conduct on the show and condolences to George are still pouring in today. If you missed the 8:00 p.m. KTN showing of the 12th episode, they have finally put it up online. You can check it out today.

Another top Nigerian rapper in Kenya to collaborate with Camp Mulla

Camp Mulla seems to be going all in on their new collaborations that they’ve been doing lately with West African artistes lately.

Ever since they were nominated for the BET Awards a while back, followed by other nominations by global awards, Camp Mulla gained respect and recognition through out Africa.

It is this recognition of greatness that has made it possible for them to collaborate with some of the biggest African artistes, among them, WizKid, Banky W, L-Tido, among others.

Just recently, they did a major collaboration with five huge African rappers. Among them were the above named artistes, in the song, ‘African Blood’ that was released just some few days ago.

Just last week, another top rated Nigerian artistes flew into the country. Wonda Boy jetted into the country on Wednesday, according to sources, to collaborate with Camp Mulla in a song titled ‘Overload’, as organised by producer, Black Man.

“The song is about being born to conquer and overlooking hardship.Overload is a fusion of Afro-beat and techno/house, a trend-setter not only in Nigeria but in Africa. The song is bound to be a success and will both increase Camp Mulla’s leverage in Nigeria as well as give audience to a new fusion sound that Blackman is confident the audiences will like. The arrangement to have the Nigerian artiste in Nairobi for the recording session was organised by “Blackman who works with many artistes and his manger got in touch with him. The rest is history,” Wonda Boy told sources.

The Nigerian rapper will also be working with other Kenyan artistes before his departure.

Top Actress Releases New Track

More than year after releasing her debut single, this actor is back with the remix.

After working as an actor for years, Janet Kirina made the plunge to music with this debut single under the stage name Nariki and followed it up with Niingize Box. The remix which was meant to come out on Friday has finally been released today.

Janet Kirina has appeared in various productions as an actress in such shows and films as Higher Learning, Benta, Block D and plays like Merchant of Venice and Disturbia. The entertainer who is currently in pre-production for the adaptation of John Kiriamiti’s series of novels with his wife is also a presenter on children’s TV show, Know Zone.

With the music career, came her rebranding for which you can check the photos here. And now you can listen to the electrofied remix, now named Love Mission (Nariki Ocio), below.

NEW SONG: Kizo B – Maisha

Coast artist Kizo B is out with a new one.

The crooner’s latest love song employs the audio skills of Pyrova and the video production of ‘Cream Vision'(I have to resist the strong urge to make a dirty joke out of that name). This is a certified banger. Perhaps we will start to hear it on rotation during Willy M. Tuva’s Mambo Mseto show, as he has been known to be the one radio presenter who actively promotes music from the coast.

PHOTO: Goldie’s Last Moment!

It is with a heavy heart that i right this article to report on the goings on at Ikoyi where Goldie is being laid to rest. The finality of death is such a terrifying reality. It has nothing to do with being confronted by my own mortality but rather the fact that death comes with such finality. You shan’t see your loved one on this Earth again.

And that is the problem confronting all those who loved Goldie either as the entertainer or as Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey the daughter, lover, friend, wife. and with that, here are some photos that have been leaked from the funeral ceremony:

Gospel artist Kambua talks about her near-death accident

Beautiful top Kenyan gospel artiste, Kambua, through her blog recently shared with her fans, what she terms as the most terrifying and life-threatening incident she has ever gone through.

Although her mind has managed to block out this terrible memory, she shares this story from what her family told her over the years.

“I thank God that my mind has up until this day blocked away the whole traumatic experience and even what I am sharing with you is a recount of what my family shared with me concerning that night.

For three months, I was admitted in hospital with third degree burns. The doctors despaired… there was little hope for me. But God still had a plan for my life. God saved me from the sting of death, and in spite of what the doctors feared, I began my slow but steady journey to recovery.

Due to the damage caused on my skin by the burns, the doctors suggested that my family take me for plastic surgery, but before a decision could be made, the great physician, Jehovah Rapha, continued to restore me. It got to a point where the doctors said there probably would be no use for plastic surgery because it seemed that I was recovering speedily and better than they had expected. I am now alive with only scars to show that I went through the valley of the shadow of death.

Sometimes we wonder whether God would love us even where we are flawed, and have gone through ordeals that have left us with scars- the answer is yes, He loves us, scars and all… Embrace your scars…let them act as reminders of what God has taken you through and always remember that He loves you…scars and all!”

Madtraxx gives HBR’s Freestyle Wednesdays a gudu one

Familiar with Homeboyz Radio‘s Freestyle Wednesdays? You should be if you are a dye hard Hip-Hop fan. Just two weeks ago, they hosted about six of the best rising Kenyan rappers in the studio and they delivered a really hot freestyle. Check it out here.

Shortly after that, HBR later hosted Kenya’s top hit maker, Madtraxx for a short freestyle session.

Madtraxx went in on The Game’s ‘Holy Water’ instrumental and gave a crazy freestyle that shows exactly why he is the ultimate hit maker. That magic touch has to be natural, you just can’t force it.

HBR’s Corine hosted Madtraxx on her Hip-Hop show, The Jump Off and this is basically how it went down (check out the audio below).

Prezzo joins Goldie’s friends and family for a candlelight prayer at her home (photos)

Most are still finding it hard to accept the terrible news that Africa received two weeks ago.

Family and friends of Goldie last Thursday gathered at her home, exactly a week after her death, to mourn and pray for the loved departed soul.

Prezzo was among the friends and family that gathered for the prayers, alongside Denrele, Karen Igho (from Big Brother Africa) and other celebrities.

Maina and King’ang’i Shed Light On Unique Voting Problems Between Couples

This morning, Maina and King’ang’i were concerned about women in the election process. He claimed that “it’s one week to elections and if you’ve noticed a strange thing, it’s that women haven’t been very active in campaigns and rallies. WHAT’S GOING ON?”

Maina today was interviewing middle-class women callers specifically, noting that there has been a voting pattern where women are reluctant to vote because their husbands expect the entire family to vote in one direction. However, today when women called in to the Classic 105 breakfast show, there was a seeming change in attitude. A lot of women were willing to go ahead and vote against their husband’s wishes for a unified family vote. One woman even called to say that her husband was in the running for an MP position, but he had caused her so many problems that she was going to vote against him!

Personally, I think that the discouragement of people from voting in unified patterns(e.g ‘six-piece’ voting) just goes to show how our political parties have no solid value proposition. The manifestos they present are simply for show, while each and every politician in the party eventually presents a different agenda on an individual level.

But what do YOU think? Should families vote in unison? Are you for or against ‘six-piece’ voting? Leave your interesting or creative responses in the comment section below:
