Is Playing Golf The Latest Fad in Kenyan Music Videos?

It’s pretty much obvious that every artist wants their music videos to be the best in the game when they are doing it. And that’s why they go out of their way to hire the top video directors like the talented J. Blessing (read why he’s the best HERE) and camera crew just to make sure their videos come out just the way their fans anticipate.

However now, Kenyan artists seem to have noticed a new way to appeal to their fans in their music videos. In what may be a game changer, artists have shifted from boardrooms, flaunting in sleek cars, fronting highly energetic dance crews and sexy video vixens to playing the big boys’ game in their music videos.

Already, we’ve witnessed Jaguar taking to one of the best golf courses in town to shoot the upcoming video of his recently released single ‘Kipepeo’ (check out behind-the-scenes photos of that HERE). in the same breath, Gabu of P-Unit is seen playing golf with a model in the just released the video of their collabo with Alicios, ‘Mobimba’ (watch it HERE).

Gabu plays the “richman’s game”

So, is playing golf in music videos the newest trend for musicians? Or is it a sign of opulence on the artists’ part because, let’s face it, renting just a section of a golf course for a video shoot is quite expensive let alone playing the sport.

PHOTO GALLERY: Smirnoff Experience -Partying In Nakuru!

On Saturday, Jeff Omondi and I headed down to Nakuru to party hearty with the rest of the good folk at the Smirnoff Experience party and that was a decision I didn’t regret!

Yeah, Jeff Omondi was out -even I was shocked when he expressed interest in attending the event. For starters, Nakuru is a small town. But when it comes to partying, they know how to party till the small hours of the morning!

The event was well manned by the security staff who made sure that no misfits could pull off their ill intentions. They were all not just present, they were also helpful and friendly.

But this isn’t about that. this is about pictures of what you missed if you weren’t in Nakuru. Enjoy the photo gallery:

Unmasking DJ Joe Mfalme

DJ Joe Mfalme is arguably the top deejay right now and his success in entertainment speaks volumes about that. From his mad mixes on Capital FM to the numerous gigs he has played at, only goes to prove how good Joe is at what he does.

Last weekend, at the Smirnoff party in Naxvegas (#thenightnax), I had a chat with the talented deejay and wanted him to confirm something my interestingly spooky colleague, Uncle Chim Tuna had whispered to me earlier in the week. So after he was done working up the crowd with his crazy mix, I approached him.

DJ Joe at a past event

Chim had told me that DJ Joe, like Size 8, is saved and that’s why he doesn’t drink. Yes, Joe doesn’t drink, he’s a complete teetotaler. So I sought to find out why he doesn’t drink and that’s when he revealed that he has a heavy drinker for fours and got to a point and decided to just quit the bottle completely. He was even taking a Stoney soda at the event which he promptly flashed at me to substantiate his statement.

On whether he is saved, Joe pointed out that he is a devoted Christian who follows the teachings of the Bible. Just so you know, Joe never misses Church never mind that he has gigs every Saturday night that most times go into the wee hours of the morning. “Tomorrow, at 8 I will be at Church,” divulged DJ Joe.

Photo Of The Day: Mzazi Tuva Kicking It With Jose Chameleone!

You all know Mambo Mseto! Don’t even act like you don’t.

Well Mzazi Willy Tuva is like royalty in the musical streets, thanks to his uber popular show on both Citizen radio and television everyday. It was Tuva who first broke the Size 8 story, of her crossing over. Baba Ghafla happened to be on air that day. He also scored the first on air interview with Mr Nice! the picture was taken before a concert at Kampala International University.

Humbling: Grandpa Artists Ride in A Matatu To The Heart of Kibera For Charity (Photos)

Last Friday, head honchos from GrandPa Records DNA and Refigah led a host of other artists, guests, friends and fans of Grandpa among them Jaguar, Mr. Nice, Miss Kenya Shamim, Kibra MP Hon. Ken Okoth, Warda, Pizo Dizo to visit St. Cathrine’s Children Home in Soweto, Kibera slums.

The group donated food stuffs and clothes with ‘Urban Bites’ donating biting for the children. The programme to support orphans and children homes will be on every 2 months and has been dubbed “Grandpa for Children”.

One does not have to be a Grandpa Records artist or affiliate to work with the stable on the charity mission just the way Wyre, Jaguar, Shamim and many others did. Grandpa invites artists, friends and fans to come together to make a difference in someone’s life. Here are some of the photos from the low-key event;

Gabby Of Tabasamu Tells In The Forest’s Gerald “You Suck In Bed!”

In the Forest is back this week, and the actress on set is Hellena Waithera. Most of you know her as Gabby, the anger-prone actress from Tabasamu.

HISTORIA_LOGO.jpg

She was being interviewd by Gerald, and he did not mince his words when it came to what he thought of her ‘anorexic’ frame. Very Caustic. She, no holds barred retorted by calling him fat, and told him he sucks in bed. Yes, it went there. Of-course Gerald being Gerald, threw a major mantrum at the end of the show. And what’s this thing of people walking around commando, is that even legal?

In_The_Forest_Helena_Waithera-1.jpg

In the forest’s Gerald is known for dangling on the periphery of crass, see what he asked Hellena’s supposed ex Alex Konstantaras here!

These Were The Movers And Shakers Last Week In Kenya’s Entertainment Industry!

I’d like to introduce a new segment which I will call movers and shakers. I will basically profile the previous week from the entertainment industry perspective. That being said, this segment is just taking form so bear with me as It evolves.

With that said and done, ladies and gentlemen, I wish to introduce last week’s movers and shakers:

Jaguar

The lad has been stunting like no one’s business! He had a video shoot and he pulled all the stops! Bringing out big boy toys like Bentley’s and even a plane! Kaboom! Read about that here.

Prezzo

Prezzo wasn’t going to be undone! He unleashed a fresh Chrysler Crossfire and the beauty of this is that we have the picture! And that coming hot on the heels of his new video “LiqHer”! Talk about moving and shaking the industry around!

Octopizzo

Lad has just released a new video titled “Stay So Fly” that has been overwhelmingly received and praised by critic and fan alike. You can watch that video here.

Juliani

He got to hobknob with Safaricom’s CEO and actually took him fish shopping deep in the bowel of Nairobi’s grittier side of town. Check out the pictures here.

Julie Gichuru

It was announced last week that Julie Gichuru was to be feted at an international forum. Julie will be among 60 women speakers who will be giving keynote speeches at the inaugural Women Inspiration & Enterprise (WIE) Africa in South Africa. Read about that here.

Smirnoff Experience

The folks at smirnoff decided to throw down a party and it was something sick! The photo gallery is coming up shortly. Keep it Ghafla!

Party People, This Is The Ultimate Plan For Tuesday Evening!

If you’re like me, a night prowler, then I know you’re looking for the most happening spot on Tuesday evening aye? Wednesday being a holiday has given us a good excuse to check out clubs on Tuesday.

And that being said, allow me to call attention to Santa Fe. This Tuesday, they are throwing down a sick party! And the irony of it all is that it’s called The Afterparty. But don’t get it twisted, it’s the only party worth noting down in your diary!

Then again, I have my own reasons for wanting to throw it down: someone on my team is going to be celebrating their birthday on Tuesday so you know I’ll be at Santa Fe throwing down in a major way!

The prices at Santa Fe are right and the music tight so act like you know where the party will be at!

Socialite Shee Waruinge Responds To Claims That She Is A Prostitute

So my TL was awash yesterday with conversations i didn’t quite understand. Until now.

Apparently blogger Y was at it again, this time with a supposed expose on Shee Waruinge. The accusations were rather unsavoury for want of better wording. You can read that here. Well Shee responded and this is what she said, verbatim. Remember last time I told you that the ‘old’ Shee is dead, may be that will explain her change of attitude in this response. Read about that here.

“Hey. I woke up to 30 missed calls and 8 texts and so many whats app messages from un known numbers.
After reading the blog, I don’t know whether to laugh or feel bad for the blogger.
1st I’ve never been to Aga Khan, just doctors plaza in Hurlingham.
2nd I gave birth in Avenue hospital 🙂 So aaaammm, the blogger must have seen another Shee.
3rd my baby daddy (X boyfriend) ain’t even in the country and most of my fb pals know him cause I was in a relationship with him on facebook.

http://ckk.me.ke/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/4994c1f3f416381087c27cc9273b229a.jpeg

4th The blogger says I chips fungad a guy at tribeka last week? Aaaammm . . . Wasn’t I at mingle all night? You tell me. 🙂
5th How he managed to make that screen shot of me inboxing him is beyond me. That facebook name with a woman’s name, how would I inbox a woman asking for sex? LOL. If that thread is genuine, why didn’t he post the link? 😀
6th I had sex with my cousin??!! LOL. Who would think of saying such a thing?
7th I own 2000 twitter accounts? Seriously? Is that even possible?

Anyway, long story short, the only truth in that blog is that I had a son and he passed.
I will not insult blogger y, hell I don’t even know him personally, those days are behind me, he’s going through a phase,so I’ll let him be.
He’s a bitter young boy who obviously lacked a mothers love.
Let’s all wait for him to grow up, however that long will take, then life will go on.

Dear blogger y, Obviously your intention is to tarnish my name and turn everyone against me, but hunny guess what? I have a family and GENUINE friends who will always have my back. Oh and of course, my hubby Novay who doesn’t respond or believe gutter blogs. 🙂 🙂
Remember- If you ain’t participating with the 3F rule in my life, then you don’t matter.
Feeding me, financing me and F**king me! 🙂 :-)”

Well..

P-Unit And Alicios New Video Out! Watch It Here!

P-Unit enlisted the help of Alicios to make their new track in an attempt to go international. The track is a rather danceable tune and you can read about it here.

I don’t want to go into the track because it’s already been talked about and that would be a back track. My aim is to move forward.

And that being said this video was on a monumental scale. They got dancers and acrobats, cordoned off an entire street and the colours! Can someone, anyone say vibrant? The colours are an explosion! The type only found at African festivals and if you asked me it worked to enhance the video rather well.

DNG Releases Photo Of His Cute Daughter Dawn. Check It Out Here!

When a man becomes a father, everything in his world changes. You can make that change either a positive one or a negative one. Men of substance change for the better. Their aspirations become loftier. They realize their children are the only legacy worth writing home about.

And I am proud to say DNG is in that category. Today he made a simple statement about the change he’s undergone since the birth of his daughter Dawn.

Here’s what he said:

“This year, God gave me a new reason for living. #Dawn, my focus; my new agenda. Everything else can go take a back seat!”

19 Year old Bahati Is The Gospel Musician To Watch!

The thing about music, is that every musician has a story.

Meet Bahati Kevin, a 19 year old orphan brought up in A.B.C children’s home. He is saved, young, passionate about music with dreams of making it in music. He made his entry into the arts through reciting swahili poetry in school and church.

In 2010 he represented St. Teresa’s Boys Eastleigh, in the Music Festival National Level held in Nakuru where he performed a solo presentation playing the guitar.
He tells me that his musical journey, began nearly 9 months ago when he released his first single and video SIKU YA KWANZA. The song received considerable airplay.

Later Bahati did WANGU alongside Mr. Seed, with the video directed by Young Wallace. He is just about to release his 3rd video entitled MAMA audio produced by R. Kay. Some of the events Bahati has showcased include: 2012 Groove Party at the Nyayo Stadium , Pamoja Peace Concert in Nakuru, Mwafaka Tour Nakuru Edition, Make it or Make launch at P.C.E.A St. Andrews, System Rave hosted by the System Unit

Some of the interviews Bahati has appeared include:Crossover 101 NTV, Tukuza Show KTN, Morning Breakfast ONE Fm, Replay Show Truth Fm, Inuka Show Hot 96, Iz Vipi XL Radio Maisha. It is clear that this young man is set to take the scene by storm! listen to his duet below.

Juliani Takes Bob Collymore Downtown To The Fish Market (PHOTO)

Of late, Juliani and Bob Collymore have become bosom buddies. Looking at their exchanges on social media, it seems to have reached the point where the Safaricom CEO has been inviting Juliani and his girlfriend Brenda Wairimu to his digs for supper.

#BOSS.

It seems Bob is using Juliani as a guide to the ghetto life in Kenya, as the two went on a fish finding mission. What do you think of an esteemed CEO hanging out with local celebrities like this? A refreshing change, or too much for a man of his stature? Leave your interesting or creative responses in the comment section below:

Singer Tiera Gee Involved In A Road Accident

Mombasa singer Tiera Gee (Stephanie Khatiera) was recently involved in a serious road accident. At the time of the incident, the sassy singer was on her way home from a family function at South B in her Subaru Forester.

Apparently her car was involved in a collision with a truck that was moving in the same direction shoving her car out of the road. The accident took place near General Motors on Mombasa Road.

In a message, Tiera Gee thanked God for her life as well as her fans for the get-well-messages. “Been reading ur mails lovely ones, it is true that i was involved in an accident with my little monster on Msa Rd. Thanks for ur concern and well wishes: i am doing fine. I had neither minor nor major injuries. I thank God above all that i am alive!”

Now that she’s confirmed she’s fine, we say “pole” for that misfortune.

High School Responsible For The Best Singers In Nairobi Releases Amazing Song!

Upperhill Secondary school, seems to be the eden of Nairobi’s musicians. It seems that all the best male vocalists in Nairobi had their genesis in this school.

From Anto Neosoul, to some of the guys in Sauti Sol, members of Pentamony, Andrew Wambua, and even Sco the violinist, the list keeps increasing. Well true to their roots, the school is still churning out stars, albeit in form of the school choir. They recently collaborated with the founding member Phllip Tuju and Scott to record this amazing song. Sco the violinist by the way shall be playing at suits and mics, read about that here. I suspect that the guys in Aziza and Chweya in Elani wa salso in Upper hill. I am not sure.

This is the first original song, done by the very talented EWFX CHORUS from the UPPER HILL SCHOOL CHOIR. They collaborated, with the choirs founder and director Philip Tuju and Scott the Violinist. So scared is a gospel song, simply seeking Gods help in a difficult situation. This song is featured in the ‘Every Dream’ album, by Pentamony and produced by Philip Tuju. It can be found online at Itunes.

Budding Actress Wins 7000 Kshs, Acting Lessons And Directing Casting In Lies That Bind!

I have made sure you know about the Actors monologue challenge. I even told you how to sign up.

Here's How To Apply For The Next Actors Monologue Challenge

Well the second one took an unexpected turn, when the reigning queen not only won, but got herself directing casting in Lies that bind! The immensely talented Sharlyn ‘Shi’ Mungai, defended her title with a brilliant performance infront of the packed house. Actors Monologue challenge is organized by Capital Fm’s Eddie Kimani.

Sharlyn battled it out against 16 other actors, to go back home with the title she clinched in the first edition in January. On top of that, she was feted with a 7,000 Ksh cash prize, a professional photo portrait shoot, acting lessons from a leading acting coach, a complimentary ticket to the movie of her choice at IMAX theatres and the bragging rights to boot! Yes!  The win also gave Sharlyn a direct casting into the TV hot series “LIES THAT BIND” which was confirmed by the shows producer Dorothy Ghettuba who was one of the judges. Shi who is also an amazing vozalist, has another talented sister who sings too. Read about Trina Mungai’s upcoming concert here.

Taking up the second and third place of the hotly contested main challenge was Veronica Waceke and Brian Ogolla. They both had been on the same stage in the inaugural edition, did not make any headway. They were voted for overwhelmingly, by the audience which determines the winner from 8 actors. The actors seeking to take part in this stage, register at the beginning of the show.

Congratulations to all of them, keep your eyes peeled for the next one in the near future. Read here on how to sign up

Free Film Festival Tomorrow At The Nest!

This April, The NEST goes silent for the fourth edition of our monthly Eye See festival. Guest curator and film-buff Kimani Waweru has compiled a selection of the best and most influential films of the silent era.

I just shared with you a movie that The Nest will be screening this evening. Read about Rust and bone here.

They have a festival titled ‘Eye See Silence.’Here’s the thing, you have to RSVP via eventsbrite on their site. Here is the link. These are the event details, I have shared them verbatim. Time is from 10.00 am to 8.30 pm.

‘Silent-era filmmakers produced numerous masterpieces and it is through these films that the world first came to love movies. In a remarkably short time after the birth of movies, these filmmakers developed all the techniques – except marrying sound to film print – that would make cinema its own art form. They have influenced every generation of filmmakers and continue to inspire audiences nearly a century after they were made.

Join us at the NEST on Saturday, April 27th for Eye See Silence – a tribute to some of the great silent-era filmmakers that gave birth to the language of film-making as we know it today.

Nai Ya Who? Festival To Take Nairobi By Storm!

That happens to be the question Juliani asks, in a very catchy song that he recently released. Did you watch that video?

His exact words are, “Na hii Nai ya nani ya who?” That video was produced by Dillie, and shot by Hatari on I-phone. Watch it here.

Well this is the just the tip of the iceberg for a campaign, that seeks to redefine the image we have of Nairobi. This is the information I have as of now concerning this laudable campaign.

Nai

‘Nai ni Who? promises to be a festival of it’s kind, redefining what was once known as ‘the city in the sun’. The 12 week festival will engage different communities within Nairobi, while encouraging them to have ‘identity talks’ about their communities, neighbourhood walking tours and pride parades to showcase their ‘hoods’ and their unique contributions to the city.

A festival of festivals, it will be celebrating the rich diversity of Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi. It will be an exploration of Nairobi, in a 3-month festival of 12 weeks covering 12 neighborhood zones. Celebrating the good, the bad & the possibilities. The Nairobi communities and ‘hoods’ each have a unique aspect about them; an identity that stands out while at the same time contributing to the character of Kenya’s major city, Nairobi. It’s a celebration and conversation about our beloved city.

This is what I got from their website Nai ni who.

‘From May 11th to August 3rd, Nairobi is in the spotlight, sharing who we are – the real Nairobians, warts and all! And celebrating our specialness! Send in your pictures, YouTube movies, and your words on why your ‘hood holds an important place in our unique capital city to help create our Nai Ni Who online wall. Get ready to party, and remember to keep logging in for more info!’ More Juliani news about mtaa challenge, read here

Jaguar’s Aircraft? (Photos)

It’s now clear that Jaguar is the most affluent entertainer in the game which just confirms what Mista Majani already told you HERE. Just three days after Kibali revealed to you his newly acquired machine, a convertible Bentley, complete with customized plates, the “Kigeugeu” singer has once again pulled another first.

According to credible sources, Jaguar recently acquired himself an aircraft! Yes, you read right, an aircraft! It is believed that the soft-spoken artist bought this plane during the campaigns and he has been using it especially over the weekends to fly to different places.

The source continues that Jaguar has used the light aircraft to fly down to Diani and Great Lake Resort in Naivasha. The 6-seater plane bears the name “Air Jaguar” and is expected in Jaguar’s upcoming video for his song “Kipepeo” (Check out behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot HERE).

Free Movie Friday: Rust And Bone By Muse KE At The Nest.

As is the norm every friday, The Nest screens a free movie. The offering of the week is Jacques Audiard ‘s ‘Rust and Bone’.

Read the synopsis below.

The Nest Screens Argo By Ben Affleck

‘A struggling single father helps a beautiful whale trainer recover her will to live following a terrible accident that leaves her confined to a wheelchair. Lonely and destitute, Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts) leaves the north of France for his sister’s house in Antibes after becoming the sole guardian of his estranged five-year-old son Sam. When Ali lands a job as a bouncer in a nearby nightclub, things quickly start to look up for the itinerant father and son. Then one night, after breaking up a fight in the club, Ali meets the radiant Stephanie (Marion Cotillard), and slips her his number after dropping her off safely at home.

Though Stephanie’s position on the high end of the social spectrum makes romance an unlikely prospect for the pair, a tragic accident at Marineland robs her of her legs, and finds her reaching out in desperation to Ali. Her spirit broken by the same tragedy that took her legs, Stephanie gradually finds the courage to go on living trough transcendent moments spent with Ali — a man with precious little pity, but an enormous love of life. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi’

Film Personalities Treated Horribly After Attending AMAA Awards Ceremony In Nigeria!

So you know the way you expect to be regaled with tales, when someone goes to a foreign country? You expect them to dish out on how the hospitality was out of this world, right?

Well, that wasn’t the case for our actors and Film makers at the recently concluded Africa Movie Academy awards! Infact, the accounts were so horrid they ellicited disdainful pity! First of all there were toiletries, no rooms, no water, no food, no transportation for some actors and yes, no flights for others! As in really, who invites you to an awards ceremony of continental proportions, then tells you we have no seats for you? The Kenyans were expected to share rooms, because hey, Africans do that!

This picture above, is one of the bathrooms in the hotel that the likes of Mugambi Nthiga were staying in. The timeline belonging to Ng’endo Mukii who I wrote about here, was a sordid affair. Her recounts of the whole experience are scary! The hotels were filthy, roach infested, squalid in appearance! Yikes! Don’t nobody send me an invite to that event, I shall not go. NO.

Oh Ngendo Mukii was offered a stolen ticket! See that below. So deplorable! It is said that Joseph Wairimu also known as Mwangi in Nairobi Half Life, was given an award, then disposed of it backstage! NO. NO.

Top Kenyan Films To Be Feted At Regional Film Festival

Kenyan films are finally getting the international break that seemed a pipe dream for so many years. With the great success of Nairobi Half Life, more films are bound to go down the same route if producers uphold the standards of this great masterpiece.

And the results are already showing because the much celebrated film ‘The return of Lazarus’, a feature film shot in Greece, is among the submitted films in the upcoming Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) to be held in June this year.

The Kenyan/Greek film directed by Alexandros Konstantaras and featuring Alexandros Koch and Lizz Njagah is among 14 Kenyan films hoping to receive an award at the East Africa’s largest film, music and arts festival.
East Africa’s Pay TV Zuku is sponsoring ZIFF this year and has signed a 10 year agreement (2012-2022) to sponsor the annual event at a cost of $USD 1,000,000. Zuku CEO Richard Bell expressed commitment and excitement at the presence of East Africa in the celebrated festival.

He said, ‘The film industry in East Africa and across Africa is at an exciting time and we are privileged to support ZIFF as it empowers African films, directors and actors.” He further stated that Zuku, especially through the Zuku Africa, channel 100, will continue to celebrate African productions and air local programmes.

The festival has received 23 films from Tanzania and several from Uganda out of the total 257 films submitted early this year.Additional submissions have been received from the rest of the continent- Nigeria, Cameroon, Trinidad, Angola as well as the from outside Africa including the US, UK and Asian countries.

The exciting Kenyan film Nairobi Half Life directed by “Tosh’ Gitonga, Kenya will be among films the festival will showcase.

Ya’ll Not Gonna Believe This But Huddah Monroe is One of The Three Sexiest Women in East Africa

Let’s face it; Huddah Monroe is by all means hot, at least to an average Kenyan guy on the street (read Twitter). She has even been touted to represent the country in the upcoming BBA8 (read that HERE).

Well, it seems somebody else has recognized her striking looks and thought she can make it into the list of the top three sexiest women in the region! According to Chicamod, Huddah plays in same league as Uganda’s Zarina Hassan Tlale commonly referred to as Zari and Tanzania’s Jackie Clifford. What’s interesting though is that all the three have the tag “bosslady” in their Twitter handles.

As you all know now, Huddah claims she owns a cloths shop in Westlands, has a Mercedes Benz C200 and owns several houses in Nairobi. She also appears at events for pay. It’s also said that she dropped from a Computer Programming course.

Here are the rest of the hotties;

Uganda’s Zari

TZ’s Jackie Cliff

What do you guys? Does Huddah deserve to be in this list?

Bobby Mapesa Back! And He Has A New Song!

A couple of years back, Bobby Mapesa was ruling the airwaves. He was the hottest artist out and for good reason. He was releasing hit after hit and wherever he went, his name rang! he was constantly being appreciated and applauded by fans. Then he pulled a Mase.

For the uninitiated, that means that he disappeared. He just vanished. The next time he surfaced, an upcoming artist was accusing him of swindling him. Read about it here.

But he’s back on the right track! No more scandals, just good music. His latest musical submission is called, “Ringa” and rather than give you any hint as to what to expect, I’d rather let you sample it for yourself and appreciate it. Then you can let us know what you think about the track. Enjoy:

“Apostle of Marriage” Now Blames Journalists For Low Turnout

Ya’ll remember the frenzy Nigerian Pastor Chris Ojigbani caused in 2010 when he came to Kenya armed with the ‘right knowledge’ for unmarried ladies. Thousands of single and married women alike flocked the KICC to get a taste of the promised blessings; ‘marriage proposal after proposal.’

In 2011, he was back again, this time with a message to the singles. He had the ‘right knowledge for singles’. It is that year that he says the media attacked him with the ‘wrong publicity.’ Little did journalists know that they would bear the brunt of the pastor’s anger two years later.

Well, this year (actually last weekend), Pastor Ojigbani was back in the country again. This time however, the turnout was so low compared to the previous two years and of course there had to be someone to take the blame for that; and who else would it be if not the journalists?

According to the Daily Nation, He accused them of misreporting his previous find-a-husband day of prayer which took place at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi last year. His aides and guards barred Kenyan journalists from attending the sessions at KICC’s main auditorium.

Pastor Ojigbani at Nyayo Stadium last year

“We are in charge of this conference and we will do what we have been instructed to do. We will not allow the press to capture this event,” an aide told journalists. He attributed the low turn to the fact that it was not as heavily advertised as the previous ones. Pastor Ojigbani himself emphasised that journalists were unwelcome at the event by declaring they were causing a distraction at the function.

Unlike in the past when the event was solely organised for single women searching for husbands, this time around, the conference whose theme was ‘the hidden truth of marriage’ was open to married couples.
All those arriving for the event were asked to write down their names, phone numbers and marital status. “Why would the media be interested in anything to do with religion? In Nigeria, no one cares about what a pastor has done or not done. We have not paid you to give us coverage. But if it is for your own good, you have to pay Sh10,000,” the pastor’s aide said.

KTN News Anchor Fights Male Chauvinists Talking Trash About Rachel Omamo’s Appointment As The Secretary Of Defence!

Men and women will never ever be equal. As Ngugi wa Thiong’o once wrote, “…even teeth have refused the notion of equality!” Equality between the genders is a myth! Equity is what women and men should strive towards. Equitable distribution of resources and power.

With that said, I will never understand men who fear equity. Men who talk down the potential women have. Secure men don’t care. Uncle Chim Tuna doesn’t have a problem with women in power. Infact, if I you would allow my digression a little longer, I think women in positions of power are sexy.

And i seem to be on the same wavelength as KTN’s Eric Njoka. The news anchor recently took on internet trolls of the Neanderthal persuasion who were eager to talk and post denigrating statements about Rachel Omamo’s appointment to the portfolio of defence.

Here’s how everything transpired on twitter:

Eric Njoka @eriknjoka

RT @bogonkobosire: ordinary kenyans think ati ‘defense is too strong for a woman’ *hits forehead* I thought tulitoka huko!!

And then Einstein below responded with this tweet:

Irvyn Gwela @gremy777

@eriknjoka @bogonkobosire do you even read what u tweeting..that woman cant handle it.period

To which Bogonko Bosire responded:

Bogonko Bosire @bogonkobosire

@gremy777 . hate her or like, deal with it. she will pass. @eriknjoka forget about some chauvinistic pigs …

And brainiac here responded with this clever quip:

Irvyn Gwela @gremy777

@bogonkobosire @eriknjoka am so thinking about how people just get swayed by anything.ungrateful c*nt

Who Is Ambassada? Find Out.

Pictures shared, video shared, what else is left in this unfolding story? The man himself. That information is courtesy of his page, I take no props for that.

His bio reads: UN ambassador, first ever Ugandan artist to win East Africa’s most celebrated awards “Kisima Awards. He is also had one of East Afrca’ best selling album”Natamani’,. He was a headlining artist for Actionaid get on board campaign, as well as Oxfam’s eradicating poverty campaign. That was what I shared earlier here. More info on him below, more pictures of him here

‘Not many Gospel acts can attest to being featured alongside international stars
in a global effort. Ambassada can! Lined up with acts such as Black Mambazo, P Diddy, Bono and Yossour N’Dour, this young man’s music was featured in a promotion for the recent global call to action against poverty.

About Ambassada:
2002, he was contracted by the biggest distribution label in East and central Africa (Sound Africa) to record a 10 track album “Natamani” which was released in 2003 and had hits like Natamani, Watoto Inkane, Yaweh and ebyensi.

2003, he swept to fame with his massively successful inspirational single, Watoto Inkane, which advocated for children’s rights. Its video, featuring children from Nairobi’s Nyumbani Home, has remained a favorite on numerous African TV broadcasts. Since then, he has been a prominent figure in the African music scene with one of East Africa’s bestselling album ever.

2004, he managed to get 13 nominations Africa wide including Kisima Awards, Paba Awards plus BBC one and became the first Ugandan to win in East Africa’s most celebrated Awards “Kisima Awards” in the Best East African video category.

“Yaka” catapulted him to a different caliber as per vocal and artistic prowess. In the same year, Ambassada also teamed with Kenya president H.E MWAI KIBAKI, the first lady and the Kenyan cabinet as he headlined the Actionaid “Get On Board” Aids eradication campaign after which he was called on board by Oxfam Kenya as a headline artist on the G8 poverty eradication campaign as mentioned above and Nacada for the drug free Kenya campaign.

He registered his NGO (Inkanetwork for children and women in Africa), teamed up with miss Kenya and the miss Kenya organizing committee “Ashley’s” to do charity work plus donations in slams and children homes around Kenya.

After having a historical interview with Reuters, he received two calls that changed his life. One from Unicef acknowledging him as a UN Ambassador a follow up on his Watoto Inkane hit and the charity works that he did for children’s homes and NGOs and another one from BBC Nairobi asking him for permission to use his above mentioned song as a theme song for the world children’s day.

After all this he again renewed his contract with Sound Africa to record a 14 track album “Sababu Yako” which has only been released online and in stores worldwide.Ambassada is yet here with his new release “AYAYA” a Midas Touch audio, Sakata video and Inkanetwork production . Upcoming Kenyan Gospel Singer Pregnant!

I don’t judge. Lord knows I don’t judge -I lack the moral authority. But with that being said, even I know that salvation is no joke. It’s a commitment to be made with a sober mind.

This lass isn’t the first gospel artist to be proved to have engaged in fornication. There was M.O.G’s Tony who had drama from here to Timbuktu a couple of years ago. He was actually initially accused of rape. read about that story here.

The thing about gospel is that you are praising God and being associated with His ministry so you are put under more scrutiny. The gospel artist in question goes by the name Jenny Msanii.

Lass is spotting a baby bump (seriously though, how do some phrases get absorbed into the dictionary?) but see, Uncle Chim Tuna doesn’t judge. So to Jenny Masanii, congratulations! Be a good mother.

Check out some of Jenny Msanii’s music below:

Fred Omondi Involved In Groupie Drama! Groupie’s Mother Was Also Involved!

If you are in the public domain as an entertainer, I am sure you have encountered your fair share of groupie/stalker drama. Worse still if you slept with your groupie for lack of will power.

And Fred Omondi, Eric Omondi’s brother is no exception. No, before going any further, let me clarify for the slow lot that I have not in any way alluded to Fred Omondi slept with his groupie. But that’s what she alleged!
The lass in question is called Sheila. She apparently called media outlets claiming that Fred Omondi had assaulted her. Apparently, she was allegedly going out with the lad and has been doing so for a while when they had an altercation and he slapped her.
I had readthis story on a Facebook page sometime this week but I chose to ignore the story. But today Pulse has decided to run with it to clear Fred’s name. Apparently, the lass’ mother called Pulse magazine venting and hissing venom about the alleged assault.
Fred drove up to Pulse’s offices first to prove that he was sober (contrary to the mother’s allegations) and to share his side of things.
Thing is, when your a figure in the public domain, you need to be careful about who you allow into your inner circle. Do not associate with every female just because she looks nice and you have a boner. Think things through!
In Fred’s case, he never associated with this stalker so he dispelled the fears with ease. But think if only for a second how this would have played out if she had texts and phone calls proving that they had spent even just one night together.

Read about how Fred Omondi cheated death here.
