Ray Keyz is now considered one of the best growing talents from Africa with many of his singles rocking overseas audience and radio stations.

He recently finished his first International collabo with Sting, a UK pop artist and is still working on more outside collabos mostly with the US, UK and Australian artists who got swept away with his great musical talent.

The Standard reports that comedian Eric Omondi, has been rebuked for going too far with his joke on one of Jesus’ miracles.
A few weeks back, Churchill show comedian Eric Omondi had this dramatized joke, where he played Jesus. He was trying to demonstrate what would have happened if the son of God was Kenyan and in this case, from Kisumu. His disciples bring fish, and Jesus miraculously multiplies and cooks them. Eric also turned stone into bread to feed himself and his disciples. This was after walking on water.
According to the reports, Christ Is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) formerly known as Nairobi Pentecostal Church where he is a member did not buy the joke and cautioned him against over-stepping his boundaries in deriding the religious figure.
Church members felt he was taking the joke a bit too far and that’s when the comedian was summoned and scolded about it.

According to Stevens Muendo, P-Unit member Bon-Eye has set a date for his wedding to his long time lass whom he proposed to late last year -in September to be exact.
The lad whose lass is called Wangeci set a date and actually has already married his lass in a ceremony that was held on Saturday and was open to only close family and friends in what is being described as a glamorous “invites only”.
The couple invited Bon-Eye’s boy band members Frasha and Gabu amongst other celebrities to come and witness his big step in life that now has him take on the title of “Mr.” officially.
i don’t know what to make of this wahala! All this gospel drama is becoming too much! and sometimes it’s not the artists who are the root cause of the drama but they get caught up and it ends up tarnishing the already battered image of gospel in the country.
And this weekend was no different as the organizers of a “the Recharge” allegedly attempted to swindle some artists they had contracted to perform at the show. and when things went south, one of the organizers identified as Jeffery Kamau attempted to beat the gospel acts into submission.

And this is how the story unfolded:
On Saturday, the 17th of August, at an event dubbed ‘The Recharge’ held at Nairobi Cinema, organized by The Recruit Wing, turned out to be one of such events.
Top Gospel Artistes Christ Cycoz, Kelele Takatifu, Kenn Eddy Krezi, S.O.C, Chuchu, Guardian Angel and Son A De Fada had been booked two months prior for an undisclosed amount by DJ Freejoh fell victim after showing up for the event, only to be told by the disorganized and unprofessional event organizers, that they wouldn’t be able to pay them the amount agreed upon, keeping in mind that the artistes had cancelled all other events that they had been approached for scheduled on that fateful day.
A scuffle that lasted for almost two hours ensued when the rude organizer identified as Jeffrey Kamau tried to punch Didi of Kelele Takatifu after they said they wouldn’t go on stage before coming to an agreement that would favour both the stakeholders despite the sudden breach of contract.
“Hawa watu wamezoea wasanii sana ati juu wameokoka,” a fan could be heard shouting amidst the crowd that had gathered.
It is evident that such occurrences are not new in the fast rising Gospel Industry, as event organizers use artistes’ names in order to hype their events only for them to turn out to be a well-orchestrated HOAX.
Fans usually turn out in large numbers only to be disappointed that artiste they saw ‘on the poster’ was a no-show, not knowing the events that unfold behind the scenes.
“Its not even about the money, its about respect and guys sticking to their word,” Ben of Christ Cycoz said.
They are young, drive the most expensive cars in the market, ride the flashiest super-bikes on the streets, live in Nairobi’s up-market areas and own some of the well-established entertainment spots that this city has to offer.

It’s always sad when I have to report some bad news and even worse when it’s tragic. And the news in this article is in that mould. RnB Genge artist Q-Tasi has lost a member of his family; his father. The young lad recently took to Facebook to release a statement to his fans about the demise of his father.

The past weekend, Nairobi streets was awash with some of the-seen-before sickly souped up cars that made their way to the KICC grounds for this year’s East Africa Motor Show.
The event took centre stage as car enthusiasts drawn from Nairobi and beyond flooded the KICC courtyard to feast their eyes on the more than 150 cars with magnificent looks.

The show creators outline the plot on their Facebook page saying “Harrison, overworked and underpaid is looking for money for bride price. A ‘business’ opportunity presents itself when he gets the keys to the Company house. With the CEO away on holiday, he has access to a vacant fully furnished house. He decides to cash in… Easy money doesn’t always come cheap.”
Daniel Ndambuki popularly known as Churchill is considered to be the Godfather of comedy.Many have praised him for his show but not everyone is satisfied,they want him to raise the bar .Ronald Kelehi of actors.co.ke has this to say about The Churchill show and Kenyan stand-Up comedy:
‘It’s about time Kenyan comedians thought about having ghost-writers for their material. With all respect to Mr. Daniel Ndambuki and being a pioneer in the Kenyan Comedic scene, Churchill show is on a slump…truthfully, but since there is no other comedian in sight with a TV show to fight for TV time or traffic and thus give him a push to come on stage with better material we just have to put up with that.”
He then continues”I am still waiting to see a One hour special by a Kenyan comedian that can tackle a variety of issues and not just tribal jokes, clown dressing and speaking in broken language.
The main point of humor is to provide amusement and provoke laughter but it also acts as a healer where one can relate to topics raised and help him build. Sometimes all one wants is to get away from the norm or be encouraged that he/she is not walking alone (Liverpool fans can attest to this) that’s when the genius of stand up is appreciated.”
I think most Kenyan comedians are afraid to step on peoples toes and touch on real societal issues and make jokes out of them. Don’t be afraid to touch on an issue that is offensive. Make it funny and we’ll laugh but also ponder”

Less than a year after he released his hit single, ‘Omwami’ fast-rising Gospel singer, Papa Muyelele landed a radio host job at Mombasa-based Baraka FM; if that’s not an achievement, I don’t know what you’ll refer to it.
A year later, Muyelele’s accomplishments continue to manifest. Last week, he released yet another major track that is currently enjoying some polite airplay on local radio stations. And now Muyelele who is on the up has just revealed the secret behind his success.
“What I am about to reveal to you are the secrets of my success which my dad taught me,” proclaimed Muyelele before enumerating the ‘secrets’.
Number ONE is that; Your career must provide shelter for you.

THREE; Your career must give you fame, respect, dignity and appreciation.

It would seem there is unrest within the gospel fraternity as elements within it have begun tearing at some luminaries accusing them of stealing and conning unsuspecting people of their hard earned money.

The decor, the ambiance and even the toilets!
I was impressed by the management’s attention to detail; everything was tip top! And the host for the Karaoke night can sing. And boy does she have a pair of lungs on her! i thought that because it was on a Tuesday night, even the patrons would be bored. but I kid you not, the patrons had so much psych! they kept singing and singing and going and going and I was impressed.
I actually fled the scene at about midnight and people were still singing and drinking and making merry! Either this clientele owns their own businesses or they don’t have to be at work by 8am like the rest of us.

Socialite,this is a relatively new term in our country.A term that more often that not leaves a bad taste in our mouths.We as Africans are yet to wrap our heads around the concept of ‘Being famous for being famous’
This is because we live in a culture where your source of fame or money has to be accounted for.Seeking fame using your body is frowned upon and yet everyday we see yet another socialite born into the social scenes.
Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton are the classic examples of socialites in the West with even Paris Hilton’s catch phrase “That’s Hot” being used left right and center.The common denominator among socialites is owning a lot of money a trust fund from daddy money bags is a plus.
The Kenyan social scene is awash with socialites but the socialites that stand out are Huddah Monroe,Vera Sidika and Pendo.

I have some rather strong misgivings about this particular story but I have to admit that the source is impeccable! Actually the source is the Standard’s tabloid rag The Nairobian and was written up by cate Mukei who has an unbelievable record of getting things right on the money!
According to The Nairobian, the pair have been spotted in and around town looking spiffy all dolled up and whatnot looking intimate. and all this came to a head at the Social media Awards ceremony taking pictures and exchanging goo-goo eyes (bleurgh!).

Last Sunday, the agonizing reality that East Africa was out of Big Brother Africa-The Chase hit us very badly. Almost a week later we are still reeling from our squashed dreams that the prize money would come to the 255.Our only hope Tanzania’s Feza was kicked out of the BBA house but was received like a hero both in her country and East Africa.
In an interview with the Pulse Feza talked about how sad she was to leave the the house as it was only two weeks to the finale.She was however glad that East Africa had got her back.

Do you own a DStv decoder or a Zuku one? well you have nothing to fear about Kenya’s push for a digital migration. Zuku and DStv have signed deals with local broadcasters to allow their decoders to receive digital signal on free-to-air channels ahead of the December switch-off in Nairobi.
The Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) said last week the current decoders provided by Zuku and DStv will no longer be able to transmit free-to-air channels such as NTV, KBC, KTN, Citizen and K24 after the switch-off, meaning subscribers would have to purchase new set-top boxes or buy upgraded decoders.
Responding to Tweets from HumanIPO, DStv Kenya and Zuku confirmed their subscribers will not need to purchase new decoders or upgrade their current decoders.
DStv Kenya said: “Our set up boxes are already on a digital platform thus no need to acquire a new decoder to receive local channels.”
Zuku said: “Kindly note that you will not need a new decoder after the switch-off of analogue.”
Kenya’s digital signal distribution is licenced to PANG, a Chinese company, and Signet, a subsidiary of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), as the government awaits to float a tender for a third signal distributor.
Both digital distributors use the Digital Video Broadcast Technology 2 (DVB-T2), a mode of transmission which the regulator says is different from that used by DStv and Zuku decoders.

August is really an unpopular month,and for a good reason.Its the month where the angel of death pays one too many visits to our country.From the botched coup d’état in 1982 to the death of our first president,from inter-ethnic conflicts in Tana river to the 1998terrorist attack,August is really a bad month in our country.
Recently Collo lost his father now Standard journalist Smitta Smitten whose real name is Tony Mochama has lost his younger brother Benjy Mauta.
According To Pulse Magazine,Benjy had been admitted to hospital for a period of three weeks before his death after being attacked by thugs as he was coming from collecting rent from their family property in Ngong.The robbers knocked him out cold leaving him for dead and also stealing his shirt.This incidence led to him contracting pneumonia. He was admitted at the Nairobi West Hospital where a blood clot in the lung took his life.
