Emmy Kosgei’s impending nuptial to Apostle Anselm Madubuko has had the rumour mills fed and obese for a minute now. But what is fact and what is myth? What is idle gossip and what isn’t? Well, Uncle Chim Tuna is here to uncover just that.

First off, they met back in 2010; Apostle Madubuko met Emmy in Kenya in 2010 during one of his visits to the beautiful country of Kenya to propagate God’s work at the Revival Assembly Azusa conference. Emmy was at the conference to perform. (Linda Ikeji)

This is actually true.

But this fact spawned the rumour that that was when an affair was initiated. The rumour mill has been rife with talk about Emmy Kosgei having snatched Anselm then. and Nigerians tore at Emmy for this. Is this true? I highly doubt. Do I care?

There is also a rumour going round claiming that she has already gotten married and the car she drives was a gift to her from the affluent pastor. Is this true? Well, the song bird has opted to remain silent about the entire affair only intimating that they are still engaged. However, sources have it that their traditional marriage will hold on Thursday August 29th in Kenya, while their church wedding will hold on Saturday August 31 at Revival Miracle Cathedral in Lagos. A reception will follow later at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.

Apostle Anselm Madubuko had also been adamant after the death of his wife that he would now lead a life of celibacy. That was all done in public and was eventually forgotten when he said this:

“The truth is that God brought her to me and it was just glare in my spirit. When my wife passed on, I was completely clueless and I began to pray. God showed her to me. She refused my advances initially but after some time through prophesies and so on, she said yes.” (Dis Naija)

If you are into pop music you know Demi Lovato.The  Give Your Heart A Break singer is joining the list of Hollywood A-listers visiting the 254 in recent times.First it was Joe Jonas next came Nelly Furtado and now Demi has come to Kenya for a worthy cause.

Unlike other 21 year olds ,Demi wont be spending her birthday today guzzling down expensive cocktails and YOLOing all over the place.She spoke to America’s number one blogger Perez Hilton about her visit to Kenya  saying:

“I’m going to do a lot of charity work down there with an organization called Save the Children. I wanted to do something different than your typical 21st birthday thing.”

The drop-dead gorgeous star  then continued “I’ve already had those [big, crazy] birthdays. Now that I’ve gotten older and gone to rehab, I’ve learned to celebrate life. I’m so thankful that I’ve even lived to 20 years old, let alone, God bless, if I make it to 21.”

Controversial fast-rising artist who once claimed to have links to top secret Illuminati, Bakes, is back with another bombshell.

Bakes who prides himself in holding the mantle for the new bad boy in Kenya’s entertainment scene is at it again. The song writer, singer and rapper is now asking leading socialite Huddah Monroe out for some serious partying then afterwards for what he terms as “the night she’ll never forget”.

Bakes becomes the second major artist to openly declare that he wants to have coitus with a socialite. A fortnight ago, rapper V-sita openly declared how bad he wanted to have a piece of Vera Sidika a.k.a. Vee S Beiby.

According to OYGK Magazine,Jason Derulo’s fiance was driven to tears  by a video posted last week by the Water Is Life organisation.The 24 year old used her star influence to rally her fans in joining  the water is life campaign.She shared the video saying “This made me cry uncontrollably! We have to do better & help each other. (Donate to Water Is Life).”

Yesterday I gave you a photo of Sauti Sol’s Bien graduating and you all seemed to appreciate the image of the lad acquiring the power to read and think. And with that, I embarked on an epic journey to find more pictures.

Zone Fam is back in Kenya!Who is Zone Fam you ask?Zoe Fam is a youthful Zambian rap group that was formed in 2007.The group is  made up of Dope G, Jay Rox, Yung Verbal and Thugga.

Asked by the Post Online on how their origins this is what they said “We all started out as individual artistes but later me and Jay  met in high school at a hip-hop battle and started doing our thing. But the person that really brought all of us together is Duncan our manager, he identified our different talents and just brought us together as solo artiste recording with a studio called Zone Studios and eventually when we did some songs together as a group and worked together on songs like Pop that body. We just decided to work as Zone Fam because we realized that we sounded good together.

They have registered notable success even performing at the Big Brother Amplified Edition.In 2011 Zone Fam was nominated for Channel O’S Most gifted Newcomer award!The  group  have already become a force to reckon with in Africa with songs such as Shaka Zulu on ’em’ and Kambama under their belt.

It would seem that the controversy surrounding her impending wedding and subsequent marriage to Naija pastor Apostle Anselm not withstanding, Emmy Kosgei is a lady determined to trudge on and march forth to produce good music.

And her resolve has culminated in an album launch in Eldoret at an open air concert which was hosted at the Eldoret sports Club and inspite of the weather, her fans came out to celebrate her music and praise God in one breathe.

And the gospel lass was looking resplendent in a flowing white dress and for the concert, she called on the assistance of her big name gospel friends such as Gloria Muliro and Daddy Owen among others.

Betty Bayo is well-known in Gospel circles thanks to her massive hits, 11th Hour and Siyabonga. Unfortunately, the celebrated Gospel singer’s ministry is being dragged behind by her fake extortionist pastor husband.

Last Sunday, NTV’s Enock Sikolia exposed the singer’s husband, one Dr. Prophet Victor Kanyari of Salvation Healing ministry Church. The televangelist apparently gives up to four ‘prayer lines’ where the sick and needy individuals can access him directly.

What happens is that when the calls are made, Prophet Kanyiri judges your financial muscle and then ‘taxes’ you accordingly.

Sikolia made two calls on the prayer line. In the first, he posed as a Mumias man desperate for a life partner. The prophet charged him KSh777 for prayers, but Sikolia complained that he couldn’t afford. At this point, the “man of God” hang up and blatantly refused to pray for him.

In the second call, Sikolia posed as a businessman whose container had been detained at the port. The prophet promised that the container would be released after a prayer fee of KSh7,777.

On her part, Bayo is not new to controversy. In January last year, the Gospel artist refused to pay one Charles Lwanga, a Judo and Karate instructor, KSh50,000 after he organised to have three dancers in her music video Siyabonga in 2010.

Bayo and Prophet Kanyiri got married last at a private wedding in which the Gospel artiste refused to reveal who the man was but simply said he is “a man of God” when Word Is inquired.

Talk about stealing in the name of the Lord.

Over the weekend, popular Ethiopian reggae singer, Eyob Mekonnen, was flown into the country after he developed health complications which led to a stroke before later sinking into a coma last Tuesday in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Unfortunately, the musician passed on Sunday after his condition deteriorated. The death of the 37 year old emerging international artist seems to be linked to an ischemic stroke, unusual for a young person of his age, which is the blockage of artery of the neck.

Ethioforum reports that according to those close to the artist, the death was caused as a result of “a condition called atria fibrillation where the heart flutters and a patient can get a clot in your heart that then propagates to your brain vessels”.

Eyob was known for his reggae style; with his glamorous stage performances and lyrics he won the hearts of many.

The singer founded reggae group Zion Band but found worldwide acclaim as a solo artist following the release of his debut album Kal in 2010.

A funeral is being planned in Ethiopia for Wednesday (21Aug13).

Ghafla! wishes comfort to the family, fans and friends of the late singer.

In early July, there were allegations that boy-band Sauti Sol was caught up in a squabble where one of its members, Chimano, who had sipped a little, was supposedly beaten up and lost a tooth by a bouncer at a gig at MKU.

Fast forward to last weekend; the group again allegedly hurled insults at a female fan with her friends because they were standing in their way. According to the lass, Sauti Sol members who appeared to have taken one too many disgraced the ladies for no apparent reason.

However, Sauti Sol apologized for the clash and insisted that it loves all its fans.

If these accusations are indeed true, then the award-winning boy-band needs to polish up its etiquette before things get out of hand.

The lad Joji Baro is no stranger to controversy And I for one have gone on record as having said that his decision to come out as an openly h0mosexual lad is a rather brave one given the hatred festering in our society.

And I do not seem to be the only lad who can see just how much brass it must have taken for him to come out and publicly declare his sexu@l orientation and HIV status. Transparency International has featured the lad on the cover of their magazine on an issue titled, “Outspoken and Proud”.

It seems that accusations of fraud have  now pitched tent on gospel video producer’s Nelson Ominde Tiger’s yard.Today an artiste by the name Titus Sadfahpriest Amke walked into our office with damning accusations towards the owner of  Mind Vision Video Company .

The aggrieved party alleged that he payed the piper but no tune was played,that is it he paid for Tiger to produce his video  but Tiger pulled a Harry Hudinni on him.

Titus said that he met Tiger  in 2011 through a mutual friend gospel artiste  Illagosa while Tiger was still a newbie in the music industry.They struck a deal and Titus coughed 15000 shillings for a video ,the contract was by word of mouth, there were  no legally binding documents signed.

Soon after Titus paid Tiger , it was alleged that the producer was hauled into Jail  for ripping off other artistes. He did time for around eight months and as soon as he was out Sadfahpriest  launched a man hunt to find the ex-convict. He found Tiger but Tiger could not refund his money so they struck an agreement  where the artiste was expected to pay an extra  10 000 shillings  for the shooting and editing of the video.A contract was signed and a  date was set August 3rd 2013 .On the eve of the D-Day Titus claimed he tried contacting Tiger but to no avail,A fortnight later,Tiger has been a no show.

We tried contacting Tiger for his side of the story  but he could not be reached.Things might get thick for the producer as a complaint has been filed  and if he does not contact Titus then he could face another stint in jail.

‘Dumbala’ is currently the feel good song in Kenya right now and for a good reason, the beat is catchy and fresh and the talents in the song are superb!

It is the kind of song that grows on you,you jam to it in the shower,in your car,at the supermarket and you put it on repeat in your playlist.The song is by the new kids on the block Sage and Jay A whose music chemistry is off the hook.

Speaking to mdundo.com Jay A has this to say about his Hit “I wanted something interesting, and fun that people could hear and just feel good, that’s the main idea behind the song. Something less serious from what people are used to”.

When queried about the meaning of Dumbala the young lad said “Dumbala can be anything you want it to be, I can’t quite explain what it is, but it’s just a catchy unforgettable phrase which gets people grooving”

He has also performed alongside Sir Elton John, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Lionel Richie, Aretha Franklin, Bruno Mars and The Black Eyed Peas at private engagements.

Supported by Yennie Lam, another Los Angeles based Electric Violinist, with Maina Kageni as MC; the event was a good mix of pure entertainment and business with The Duma Group, launching its building and construction flagship products.

Back in the day, Blu Zebra Studios was playing in the same league as Ogopa and Calif Records. However, somewhere along the way something happened and the popular record label somehow just fizzled out.

However, the proprietor of the now defunct Blu Zebra, Tedd Josiah is back! Tedd, who’s one of Kenya’s most ambitious music producers, wants to work with artists who have never been in the industry and more so help boost their careers through the creation of Sand Stone Studios (S3 Studios).

S3 studio is a Music-Video-Film-Graphics-Animation and creative studio. Ted’s vision is that it is time for Africans to take charge of African history & Africa’s future by telling the real African story themselves through their diverse talents in the arts.

He aspires to revolutionize the industry by nurturing new and untapped talent, giving back to the society in the world of arts (film and music) especially to the young people and show them that there is a different angle in life; one can make a career out of talent.

Kenrazy had been a no show in the music industry for a  while and many wondered whether the Ti-Chi singer  had quit music.After joining Grandpa Kenrazy revealed that his musical career almost went to the dogs thanks to fellow rapper and music producer Rap Damu.

He alleges that  after quitting grandpa Records he joint Rap Damu’s label Pancho.Apparently he was hoodwinked into thinking that Rap Damu wanted to produce his music but he ended up being the one producing the music for other artistes.

“I was so busy producing for others that i gradually forgot my own music career  that also required my attention.I eventuallty became like the chief Producer for Pcho.However ,Rap Damu was in no way appreciating my commitment.Despite my devotions to give me a stake of the record label,something which i was working hard for.”

Due to this their work  relationship became strained so Kenrazy decamped and like the prodigal son,he went back home,Grandpa Records.

The Colour Kwa Face Charity Walk an initiative started by Nonini  in partnership with Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) took place over the weekend.

The walk themed ‘Celebrating our differences’ started from Uhuru gardens-Nyayo Stadium-Uhuru Gardens. .The event saw the attendance of Safaricom C.E.O Bob Collymore who flagged it off, Amina (Capital Fm), Nameless, Wyre, Syd & I.T, Jay A, Lady Bee, Berry, Gideon, VIP, Red Alert, Vannika, MC Kelly, RK, Angela Ndambuki, Dj 2One2, Dj Scratch 1, Dj Wesley and DJ Pinye among others as well as Kenyans of goodwill who came out in large numbers to support the initiative.

The Color Kwa Face Campaign was launched by Nonini in 2012 sought to raise awareness about Persons with Albinism facing discrimination in East Africa and raise Sunscreen Lotions for families that cannot afford the precious commodity.
