29th october 2013: Ten Things You Should Know This Morning

I woke up today and remembered one of the lines from one of my all time favourite cartoons on cartoon Network; the real Cartoon network and not the rubbish of today. The cartoon was Dexter’s Lab and the line was, “ah! What a fine day for science!” But in my case the line will be altered to suit the cause: “Ah! What a fine day for articles!”

And indeed it is today that I was bested, nay, beaten hands down by Sue Watiri’s articles as the number one slot was taken by her with a whopping 9,000+ hits:

#1. Bootylicious Risper Faith Goes Topless! (PHOTO)

#2. Jimwat’s Mother Appealing For Help After A Horrific Car Accident Leaves Him Needing Reconstructive Surgery

#3. Check Out How Hard it Went Down At The Naija Night! (Photos)

#4. Meet Lovy And Ida Longomba’s Super-Adorable Son (Photos)

#5. Emmy Kosgei Dazzles In A Sexy Red Dress In One Of The World’s Fashion Capitals

#6. Big Pin Involved In A Ghastly Road Accident (Photo)

#7. Socialite Maura Malanga’s Uncle Advices People On How To Masturbate To Her Pictures (EVIDENCE)

#8. KTN’s Beautiful Sophia Wanuna Clowning Around At The KTN Studio (PHOTOS)

‘Thrift Shop’ Rapper Macklemore Is Coming To Kenya!

Jimwat’s Mother Appealing For Help After A Horrific Car Accident Leaves Him Needing Reconstructive Surgery

After spending years in the backburner of Kenya’s entertainment industry, Jimwat was struck by calamity and as per Murphy’s Law, everything that could go wrong, did!

First rumours about him battling alcoholism begun to spread regardless of whether they had been substantiated or not. But even then, Jimweezy as he is popularly known had earlier returned to the studio and was expected to surface with it’s release.

However all this got thrown into disarray when Jimwat in the company of two others drove into to from the back by a Prado along Thika road next to Thika mall.

He was quickly rushed to Kahawa Wendani hospital where it was discovered by the doctors that he had suffered multiple fractures on both legs and some fractured ribs. He was then rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital for prompt medical attention,he is scheduled to undergo reconstructive surgery that should hopefully enable him to walk again.

Friends and family have been struggling to raise money to foot the piling medical bills at the hospital that is rapidly growing. His mother has pleaded with the fans and entertainment fraternity to chip in and help with sorting Jimwat’s medicare and hopefully have his son back on his feet.

So far, he is grounded and faces a longtime on a wheelchair should the reconstructive surgery fail to take place.

Gado Celebrates Gor Mahia’s Hooligans: The Better Goons Won The KPL

let me first start by congratulating Gor mahia for lifting the KPL trophy. They were clearly the best team in the league. That being said, by virtue of my mother, i am an AFC Leopards supporter. and support them I do. however, one thing I do not like about Kenyan football is the fact that it is a breeding ground for hecklers and hooligans.

And I am not alone in my dislike for this ilk of football fans. Gado decided to celebrate Gor Mahia’s real heroes. You know, the type to throw stones after minor infractions. Check out Gado’s homage to the below:

Celebrity Style Icon: Nick Mutuma

i have to say that all of the lads named Nick whom i am acquainted with have impeccable taste. And here i am talking about an all round perspective; they have a taste for the finer things in life. One of them, my oboy Nicky-Boy just oozes class. i think a bus was named after him too!

And Nick Mutuma is no different. The lad is always looking dapper and he has a knack for knowing just the right clothes to suit the occasion. And he never seems to have tried too hard which is one of the more subtle things about looking good. Seeming like you effortlessly appear dapper. Check out this weeks style icon;

KTN’s Beautiful Sophia Wanuna Clowning Around At The KTN Studio (PHOTOS)

i have often wondered what happens at the more traditional media outlets when the cameras aren’t rolling. What antics do our favourite news anchors and the news crew get up-to that we cannot see? Well, the AM Live crew look like they have a blast and so do The Trend people.

But what about the more “serious” types? You know the business news types whose idea it is to dress down by unbuttoning one button on their shirts/blouses. Well, I have a picture of what the good folk at KTN consider “letting loose” and I must say that we are not amused. But that being said, Sophia Wanuna is incredibly attractive. Check her out below:

Tusker Project Fame 6 Update:Beautiful Kenyan Contestant Booted Out

The curtains closed for three TPF contestants last Saturday, the obviously Talented Mishel from Kenya and the Under Cover Brothers(Kirya and Mulungi) from Uganda.

Mishel a  21 year old Music School graduate and a small business owner from Nairobi was booted out in favor of the emotional Jennifer even after her glorious rendition of Harry Kimani’s ‘Waithera’

Here is a little bit of information regarding Mishel:

Mishel is oldest child in her family.

Mishel was also the youngest of the Kenyan contestants at Tusker Project Fame 6 but the number was no indication of this girl who spoke like a sage and sang  like a blues legend.

BBQ Live: What It Takes To Party Like A True Kenyan

This weekend, I had made up my mind to remain at home and enjoy a nice quiet weekend. But that was not to be. I was called up by my oboys and comrades in mischief and asked to check out BBQ Live because it was happening. I figured that since the last one was a success, I may aswell check this month’s out.

When I got there, I noticed some peculiarities about Kenyans both as a people and as party animals. This is what i observed and while some of it is old, some of it is new:

#1. Kenyan women do not go out to mingle.

When a Kenyan lass decides to go out to a party or to an event, they do not do so to mingle and interact. They do so because it is “cool” to be seen at a certain event. They go out to show off their clothes. When you attempt to talk to a lass, before they here a title, they will shut you down. Unless you look like Adonis which I decidedly do not.

David Mugo (C.E.O of Niaje.com and I)

Do not bother attempting to get to know a Kenyan lass at an event. It’s a waste of time.

#2. In Kenya, nyama choma is king

In our motherland, people’s love for meat is overwhelming. Kenyans wolf down copious amounts of nyama choma (roasted meat) as though coronary ailments are but a myth. The busiest stands were the ones selling meat. if you want to attract Kenyans by the numbers, advertise that your event will sell meat. Thank me later.

#3. Kenyan lads cannot dress

Seriously, this one was disheartening. A Kenyan’s idea of getting dressed for an event is to wear a suit 3 sizes to small and plastic imitation Hermes shoes. Bleurgh!

#4. Kenyans are rude

I have no idea why anyone would go out simply to instigate and pick fights. And while there were no fights at BBQ Live (the security team were on top of things) Kenyans were being rude and aggressive to each other. Whatever happened to the philosophy “Hakuna Matata”?

#5. No event is devoid of obs

They lurk in the shadows or at the entrances. They skulk around waiting for prey to emerge then descend like a pack of wolves. It doesn’t matter how exclusive an event is, obs have a way of surfaces. Obs in Kenya are alot like pimples; they keep popping up! And I hate both!

#6. Kenyans love to drink

Any excuse to drink is good enough. “I woke up on a sunny Saturday. Seems like a legit reason to drink!” “I borrowed the car from mummy and she agreed to me keeping it for the weekend. Seems like a legit reason to drink!”

“Cognito sum, dubito sum, ergo I drink”

All in all, BBQ Live was an awesome experience. You should make it for the next one!

So THIS Is Why Sheila Kwamboka Flew To Nigeria

Recently, Sheila Kwamboka announced via social media that she was off to Nigeria and the rumor mill was rife with speculation about what she had gone to do there.

It was widely believed that she had gone to pursue her relationship with Uti Nwachukwu, after he won Big Brother Africa Allstars. But we have now found that that was not the case. Sheila had gone to Nigeria to record a show called Passport, a show where her and the crew of Blackmedly productions are travelling all over Africa to showcase the basketball talent found in the individual countries.

In episode 1 of Passport, Sheila travels to Lagos, Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, where they quickly learn that this country is all about nurturing talent. This week, Sheila sets up camp in a basketball training centre called Warriors Dodan Academy, which has produced two NBA players so far. They find out a lot more about why the Nigerian players play basketball, despite there not being so much money in it right now, and they also find out some interesting tidbits about the history of Nigeria, especially the slave trade.

Take a look below at Passport, the show that looks at local African basketball, culture and what makes these places what they are:

Coming hot on the heels of her billion shilling wedding was a nomination for an award in the International Gospel Act category at the 5th Annual BEFFTA Awards.

Citizen TV Actor Opens Up about His hush-hush White Girlfriend

There’s something about Coast guys with white girls. Many of them, celebs not an exception, have fallen in love with white women, some of very advanced age (like in the case of CLD). That’s a story for another day.

Today however, camera lens points at Davis Manyurage Luvaha a.k.a. Rojo-Mo, a Swahili rap artiste born and raised in Tononoka, Mombasa. Apart from singing, Rojo-Mo is an actor in a local drama series, “Saida” that airs on Citizen TV every weekend.

He recently had a sit-down with @manuel_ofishal Spice where he opened up about his music and love life. Here’s an excerpt of that;

Take us through your music journey

I started doing music when I was in high school, though I didn’t take it seriously till I cleared my O-levels. A friend approached me and we formed a group. We would compete in rap battles. This was where I met Cannibal. I recorded my first song Kisa cha Visa which did not do well nationally but was received well in Coast. In 2008 I released Mr Dubai which did well and paved way for me. The song made me win the Best Upcoming aArtiste Award in the Nzumari Awards. In 2010, I released Ameke which I did with Chikuzee. It won several accolades. After that there was no looking back, and now here I am working with Cannibal.

Tell us more about your project with Cannibal

This year, I hooked up with Cannibal. He had an amazing proposal about forming Killer Camp. It’s a group of talented artistes based in Nairobi. We have a lady called Tiffa from Tanzania, and Nafsi Huru Mano-P from Coast.

So is it a stable on it’s own or what?

Yes it is, but at the same time it is quite different from what we have seen in the music industry. We can work with any producer who is interested in working with us, but most of the projects we have undertaken are being done by Chili Inc, including our latest track Sababu ya muziki.

On Str8up with Ian Mugoya, Cannibal & their boys

Your style of rap is distinct. Tell us about it:

I’m a story teller. I do Swahili rap with creativity from story telling.

Spicers have spotted you a number of times on Citizen TV’s Saida. How did you go about bagging the role?

The director of the programme called me and told me that he wanted to cast me. No auditions, no nothing; he happened to like my image and the rest as they say is history.

An artiste or producer you’ve been dying to work with?

I like the style and lyrical prowess of Kristoff. We’re actually working with him on a track. I am also working with Reina on a track produced by Producer Toti.

White fiancé, how did that happen?

Somehow, I knew that would come up. I am engaged to a white girl from Netherlands. However, I don’t wish to speak much on this matter as I wouldn’t want to put her under too much media and public pressure. We met in Coast, Mtwapa at a friend’s party. She was there with her friends. The attraction was instant. From there on, one thing led to another.

It’s been insinuated your relationship is more of a “get ahead” kinda deal. That true?

Ours is true love and I wish people would stop projecting me as a gold digger.

He recently had a sit-down with @manuel_ofishal Spice where he opened up about his music and love life. Here’s an excerpt of that;

Jalang’o Insists Only President Uhuru Muigai Should Give Gor Mahia The KPL Trophy

Jalang’o is just the guy. he has a knack for knowing what exactly people want to hear and if it’s tribal humour, then so be it. I have had alot about him from Baba Ghafla and he is rather dapper and eloquent. and he decided to use that very quality to pass a message to the president of the republic of Kenya on behalf of Gor Mahia fans nationwide.

And because I agree with what he is saying, and there is no better medium than Ghafla online to pass this message across, I have decided t loan some of Ghafla’s clout to his already  enormous clout to pass this message:

  Mzee Jalang’o Mwenyewe

I Dont see anyone better than The President His Excellency Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta to award Gor mahia the trophy……..what do u think?….Like Nyamweya gives it to Lupita Nyongo..then Lupita hands it to Raila then Raila hands it to Uhuru then Uhuru to Jerry Ja goal! what do u think of that handover?

What do you think? Is Gor Mahia worthy of such a great honour?

Vera Sidika’s Shopping Spree in Lagos Nigeria! (PHOTO GALLERY)

While Kenyans were busying themselves with hating on Vera Sidika because she told the nation she rocks weaves worth 450,000/-. The internets went bananas like Donkey Kong. And yes, I am obligated to say that if you know what Donkey Kong is all about, you had a brilliant childhood.

Wand with that allow me to show you just exactly where she went shopping:

KTN’s Mohammed Ali Responds to Allegations That He’s An Al-Shaabab Member

Thursday, blogger Mugo wa Wairimu in a long post made damning allegations that KTN’s investigative senior reporter and the brains behind ‘Jicho Pevu’ is an Al-Shaabab sympathizer with the investigative series being its mouth piece.

The post generated a raging debate with pro-Mugo and pro-Moha commentators defending their position about the matter. The entire time each side seemed to be waiting for Moha’s response to the allegations which never came as expected.

However, Moha has finally responded to accusations;

“Walipwa shilingi mbili kuniita alshabab. Tuone basi watakulipa mpaka lini. Hamna urafiki utatumiwa ukijaribu kuziba shimo la panya kwa mkate”

(They were paid two shillings to refer to me as an Al-Shabaab. Let’s see how long you’ll be on their pay-roll. You don’t have friendship, you’ll be used when you try to seal a rat’s hole with bread”

Was This Top Gospel Musician Cheating On Her Husband?

The husband of leading gospel artist and evangelist Pastor Wairimu has spoken out about allegations that she has turned him into a cuckold by sleeping with men other than her husband. the man in question, Bishop Mwangangi has broken his silence on the matter and finally spoken up and this is what he had to say:

Mohamed Ali Put On An International Terrorist Watchlist! He Speaks Out.

When I received word about this story I was shocked! Nay, I was gobsmacked. Mohamed Ali, champion for the truth, a man who, the government are attempting to frustrate for exposing the truth that they intended to bury about Westgate. That one and same man Mohamed Ali was recently put on an international criminal watch list. Why?

Well, Mohamed Ali told The Nairobian that on several occasions, he has landed in hot soup at the airport because of his name.apparently, whenever he attempts to leave the country to go to get clearance from the senior echelons of the immigration and security officials because international his status sets off security alerts.
When asked why this is, he explains that he suspects that there is a terrorist who stole his identity and took everything except his date of birth. And as a result he was once arrested at an airport in Europe and was held for an hour until things were cleared up.
The watchlist on which Mohamed Ali on “appears” is maintained by the American intelligence apparatus and is shared with other security organs all over the world and can result in rather invasive body searches.
wonder whether he has ever undergone a full body cavity search though. Bleurgh!
