Renowned Kenyan Artist in the Diaspora Pays Glowing Tribute to Mum

Washington Irving once said, “A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” Every single word of that quote is true as it can be.

Kenyan rapper/DJ based in Germany, K-Nel is back with a fresh joint. The track, “Naomi’s Baby” is a dedication to his mother, Naomi and all good mothers around the globe. Whereas the song is full of praises to his mum, K-Nel also takes the chance to hit out at his haters and urges them to look at his success.

K-Nel launched “Naomi’s Baby” in the presence of his mother in Cologne during the Pamoja Jubilee Weekend and the response was priceless!

After Vera Sidika’s 450,000 Weave, Here’s Something All Socialites Should Probably Get (PHOTO)

Few weeks back video vixen and business lady, Vera Sidika, shocked everyone at the same time left tongues wagging when she said that her weave is ‘EXCLUSIVE’ and costs a whopping 450K! And since other socialites are always rocking weaves, Sony Corporation has just come up with a perfect solution for them.

The electronics maker has just patented “SmartWig” hairpieces with ultrasound sensors, a camera and laser pointer that could help the wearer to navigate roads, check blood pressure or flip through slides in a presentation.

However, the device is not necessarily intended to replace absent hair, as with traditional wigs, but to be worn as a sort of mobile computer. Take a look at this ingenious innovation;

The patent describes a “plurality of natural and/or artificial hair pieces” which will hide within them a range of sensors and communication devices. Would the hair be soft and silky? It could be made from human hair or hair from assorted animals such as horses or buffaloes, Sony says.

How about this for Kenyan socialites?

Dennis Itumbi Recalls Missing Blogger’s Last Moments (PHOTOS INCLUDED)

Hours have turned into days, days into weeks and now it’s more than two months but controversial blogger and Jackal News Managing Editor, Dickson Bogonko Bosire is yet to be traced. However, the search for Bogonko is still on going and for the past two days, his former schoolmate and friend, Dennis Itumbi retraced the path that Bogonko took before his disappearance.

The ‘Government Blogger’ posted photos and information he had regarding Bogonko’s last moments before he went missing.

#LetsFindBogonko among the last three photos Bogonko sent to friends on his Whattsup is this one….

The last photo sent by Bogonko, was that of him crossing a road in Mwea, Kirinyaga, where he had gone for a resting weekend. He was heading back to Nairobi. He met some friends that night in Nrb. So no doubt he got back safely….here is that photo as sent to friends. He never went home that night, according to a Cousin he was housing in South B….#LetsFindBogonko

#LetsFindBogonko After returning from Kirinyaga on Tuesday, he was at Giggles briefly and those he spoke to say he was in a jovial mood and he spoke about a major story about a girl who had been impregnated by a certain politician. He narrated the story to a journalist friend, but did not finish as he had to go for the interview with his source. He Was convinced the story was water tight.

#LetsFindBogonko on Thursday, he went to Giggles, Porter House and simmers. He spoke of a High Court Judge who told him to go slow on ICC “they can mess you up”, he also expressed fear about pressure he was getting not to publish a certain story, he believed it was true so he published it anyway. At simmers he made several calls and the last text was to his sister asking “hope you are well”…Earlier that day he withdrew 400 bob from Rams Communications in South B…

#LetsFindBogonko Friends got concerned when during the West gate incident, Bogonko did not write a single story on his blog.He met over 7 people on Thursday and all his conversations had a similar theme. Friends went to his house and a cousin he houses explained he had not been home since Tuesday. We reported him missing and informed his brother and sister. We then contributed and sponsored his brother to come to Nairobi. The family reported a missing person to the Industrial Area Police. We then agreed to check City Mortuary just incase he was at West Gate and KNH….The search began….A tale of heartbreaks.

#LetsFindBogonko Naivasha Morgue called and said they had a body that matched our profile, they told the police. We requested Naivasha journalists to visit and confirm, The office of the Nakuru Governor also assisted us. We also requested Elkanah, the elder bro to head there on our behalf. They all reported it was not BB.Call records were equally without a hint. A month later we got a lead….

#LetsFindBogonko we got a crucial lead, but due to the false alarm we had received before, we initially ignored it, but informed police. Then a week ago, we confirmed that the lead was serious. Unfortunately, I cannot go into the detail, but we hope we succeed in finding our Friend BB. The second lead is also being checked. Simmers lead…for now we remain hopeful that together we will find Bosire

Like the rest, #LetsFindBogonko

Twitter Big Wig Exposes Alleged Sex Scandal At A Leading University. Ladies, Take The Time To Read This (Part 2)

Earlier today, I begun to tell Kenyans about a leading institution of higher l;earning that is being accused of harbouring staff members -read lecherous lecturers. The story has been told that the institution’s lecturers are allegedly victimizing the female students. The story was brought to the fore buy twitter bigwig Cyprian Nyakundih.

“When the pressure on Laura became unbearable, she decided to pay the Dean of Students a visit where she explained everything that transpired. The backward Dean who wasn’t even shocked at the allegations, asked her to go back to class as he dealt with the case. This, in my opinion, is very wrong for such a case which required immediate attention.

Laura, is now traumatized and feels neglected and despised. She is even contemplating deferring her studies with only 2 weeks to the end the semester’s main exams.

Mistakes are to humans; but whatever Laura is undergoing is pure sexual harassment and exploitation of the highest order. Mr. Ngulu’s blackmailing behavior is tantamount to criminal charges, punishable by the law. The collective minds of our constitution protects individuals from all forms of exploitation.

Laura’s case is just one among many. There’re even claims that a female student deferred her studies because of this same Ngulu. Another female student found in the male hostels during odd hours was a victim of sexual harassment from this shameless man.

The truth shall always stand – This is wrong! I call upon everyone to stand up and condemn this act. Meru University requires an immediate audit because of the unethical behavior of the entire staff. An institution of higher learning cannot be the nurturing grounds for such an impunitive culture.

I am urging everyone on twitter to give their opinion through #MeruUniSexScandal and those with a Facebook account to share and make this their update.”

Daddy Owen Hints at a Wedding

Each year, without fail, celebs get hitched, and they make headlines doing it. This year especially, there have been a lot of celebrity weddings, both publicly and privately, that have been characterized by glitz and glamor that the rich and famous enjoy. And more celebs appear to want to exchange their vows before the year ends.

Award winning Gospel musician, Daddy Owen, has dropped his strongest hint yet that there could be a marriage very soon, and by ‘strongest hint’ I mean exactly that. Earlier today, the “Kazi Ya Msalaba” posted on his Facebook page, “Wedding bells. ………………………….

Owen has managed to keep his beautiful girlfriend out of the limelight since they started dating and whenever they are at a public gathering the cute couple avoids paparazzis and their prying cameras.

Away from the nuptials, Daddy Owen’s Malaika Tribute Awards held to celebrate the achievements of people living with disabilities will be held next week coinciding with World Disability Day.

Twitter Big Wig Exposes Alleged Sex Scandal At A Leading University. Ladies, Take The Time To Read This

One of the Kenyans on Twitter with a phenomenal following is the lad Cyprian Nyakundih. The lad is a student who caused quite the furore when he exposed the institution he was at for lacking basic infrastructure. When he did so, he got expelled. But the backlash the university experienced was unprecedented.
Twitter’s biggest influencers came out in support of the lad getting the issue nationwide attention.

Aye, well, the lad is back again accusing staff of yet another institution of higher learning of sexually harrassing it’s female students and the management of the institution of condoning this. This is what Nyakundi tweeted GhaflaKenya:

And when you get to that link, this is what you get:

Laura (not her real name), a 1st year student at Meru University of Science and Technology has had great dreams since she was young. She has toiled and moiled for many years. Her hardwork finally paid off when she was admitted to Meru University.

Two weeks ago, she was involved in a minor case which was forwarded to the Senior Security Officer of Meru University, Mr.James Ngulu, who instead of protecting her became a monster.

This man’s behavior has shocked many students in the fraternity. Mr. Ngulu has been pushing Laura to sleep with him so that he drops the case. He has been trying to lure this young, ambitious lady with his pay slip and promising favors, even as the lady keeps resisting his unwarranted sexual advances. This man who is old enough to be Laura’s grandfather (yet claims to be 26 years – sic ) didn’t stop at that. He’s been sending his cousin to convince this young lady to give in to his demands. He has been insisting that she visits him at his home and even told her that if she refused he would forward the case to the dean and push for more ‘serious action’: painting an office which should be helping students in negative light…

Part 2 is coming out soon…

‘Mwanaume Ni Kufungua Roho’: Cabu Gah confesses his Humongous Crush on KTN’s Attractive Actress

No matter what your type, you’re sure to love one of today’s many hotties on TV and #TeamMafisi are with me on this. Yes, ogling hot chics is fun. Okay, more than fun. It’s an essential part of our day; more like having nyama choma then washing it down with finely brewed beer.

Anyhow, resident rabble-rouser, Cabu Gah has done what most guys are coy about. This morning, the well-known blogger revealed his very huge crush (and a possible sign that he’s interested) on undeniably beautiful and consummately talented actress in KTN’s Lies That Bind, Maureen Koech.

Even though he has a girlfriend, Cabu Gah reveals, “Maureen Babe, I got a crush on You.” He even declares that he’s ready to be murdered for making the confession.

“I have a crush on MAUREEN KOECH!

Yea,there,I said it!

Kill me now!

My,Oh,My!

Isnt she lovely? Man,she’s heavenly.

Boy,oh,boy! Am I into this soul-enchanting piece of flawless creation.

Maureen Koech is an Actress. And a singer.

I first watched her on the KTN programme LIES THAT BIND.

And that nailed it. I was smitten.

Good grief!

Who is this girl that stole my heart this much?

I watched the programme religiously. Not because I was captivated by the storyline.

But because I was dazzled by this ravishing piece of beauty.

She is Chaste. She is Genteel. She is Placid. She is Tender. She is Stately. She is Glorious.

Maureen_Koech.jpg

SHE IS MISS KOECH.

And when she won that Nigerian Award,I was amöng the first people to congratulate her.

Lord,Am I into her!

Look at those eyes…those piercing sleek eyes…Look at those lips…those scarlet-red earth-shattering lips…

And when she talks,Boy,its the sweetest voice ever…

A voice potent enough to send souls scrambling for air…

She’s breathtaking. She’s a work of Art…

And have You heard her music?!?

HAVE YOU???

Goodness,YOU SHOULD!

Maureen Babe,

I got a crush on You.

I know I have a girlfriend and she will probably butcher me after this update.

And hang my sorry ass in Dagoretti Market.

But TRUTH BE TOLD.

Girl,thou art fine!

I have been harbouring this feeling for long.

And I have now let it out.

I am ready to be murdered. And buried at the border of Ethiopia and Kenya.

For declaring my crush on Maureen.

Mwanaume ni kutoboa…

Madam Koech,thou art enticing!

Mwaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.”

I don’t know what the Best supporting Actress Africa 2013 at the AMVC Awards and Pop and Afro-house singer has to say about this.

Mafikizolo The Guys That Did “Khona” Celebrate Kiswahili With the Song “Nakupenda” Listen to It Here

I have no idea what it is about Mafikizolo and Uhuru but they seem to be as enormously enamoured by Kenya and it’s culture as kenyans are with their song “Khona”. i was trawling the internets for information when I stumbled across a song they had done that was done in Kiswahili.

The track is done in the South African indigenous style of House Music “Kwaito” but the chorus and hook are in Swahili. I think Kenya should be honoured by the gesture and Kenyan artists can also learn that it isn’t about the language you use but the music itself.

That is why they say music is a universal language. To hear the fusion of what I suspect is Khosa and Swahili is easy on the ears. This particular song isn’t necessarily a party song, it’s has more of a feel good vibe and quiet night at a lounge feel to it.

Check the track out below:

Maina and King’ang’i In The Morning: Women Who Refuse To Leave Their Boyfriends After They Have Been Dumped

Today, On “Maina and king’ang’i in the morning, the topic of conversation was women who refuse to leave their men after being dumped or as they were being referred to, “cellotape women”. I have to say that I was rather disappointed to men call in to justify wasting women’s lives. Men of all ages and educational backgrounds some of whom sounded like they had attended good schools were eager to call in and tell the nation that they had been dating women for up to 7 years only to wake up one morning and decide that they want nothing to do with the women.

Understandably, women were pretty upset when they called in to defend themselves against accusations that Kenyan women are desperate and refused to let go of their men when they got dumped.

  Maina Kageni

Why do some ladies hang on when they have been dumped?

The (new) name for this kind of lady is ‘cellotape’ …because they cling on. Do you know any lady who is a ‘Ciiru ma-cellotape’ or as another calls it ‘Adhiambo super-glue’?

We had an interesting chat over lunch with some gentlemen who asked that we talk about this on radio today because it’s a shame. You mistreat her, you do all bad things to show her that it’s over but she hangs on …she insists on staying …why? Why would you want to insist on a man who doesn’t want you? Why hold on and not let go to a man who says it’s over?

Interesting topic today. Let’s talk!

When the men decided to call in, some fool called in to say that his woman had bitten him after he accosted her with a knife (but as he said, jokingly) demanding she leave his house. Personally, I can only honestly hope she whooped him for pulling such a knuckle-headed knife “joke”.

Another called in to say that after dating a woman for 7 years he had realized she isn’t the “one” for him and he wanted her gone but she adamantly refused to leave saying he had wasted her life -understandable assertion.
He would bring home different women even while she was in the house and she even prepared breakfast for them. She only left when he set her up with a friend of his and “stumbled” upon the cheating pair.

I can honestly say that after listening to these weak men flaunt their weaknesses on national radio, I can fully understand Ciku Muiruri’s frustrations with weak, spineless Kenyan men.

DJ Crème Terms Logo Stealing Allegations Against him as “Not only trivial but more so a direct insult”

Yesterday it emerged that DJ Crème de la Crème might in fact have pilfered the logo on his Epic Nation apparel. His accuser, Roy Smith, claims that the acclaimed deejay thieved his EZ logo from his LogoPond portfolio.

This morning, Crème issued an official statement regarding the allegations maintaining that “the subject matter in discussion is not only trivial but more so a direct insult to the business integrity of our brand.”

That said, we do acknowledge a dispute in the form and use of the said logo. Further, and with respect to Roy Smith we did acknowledge the same.

Almost a year and 2 months ago, we came to an understanding and compromise on the logo’s subsequent look and use. A compromise, which he privately and recently, publicly consented to (reference to the logothief.com article). Also refer to the mail below;

 Creme_mail.jpg

We would like all our loyal customers past, present and future to understand that this is a matter which was laid to rest. The only issue that Mr. Smith had with us was our failure to fully honour his take down notice for our OLD logo type faces, an oversight made without any malice whatsoever.

The irresponsible ‘reporting’ (or lack there) of the blogger is nothing more than whipping a dead horse.

Moreover, his/her failure to report on the full facts plus extended attack on the quality of our hugely popular apparel is a clear indication of the evident petty nature and pure lack of regard and respect to the honorable profession of media and journalism.

That said, Epic Nation Apparel shall tirelessly continue to stretch boundaries to give nothing but the best.

Do you believe him?

They say if diamonds are a girl’s best friend then gold is every guy’s mistress; and the ‘king of bling’, Prezzo knows that too well. He probably be rapping, “Gold in my chain, gold in my ring, gold in my watch, gold in my gun. Don’t believe me just watch.”

Barely a week ago, ‘his rapcellency’ was spotted balling in in a 39,000 shilling designer shirt something that silenced his haters. As if to put the final nail on their coffin, Prezzo flaunted an AK-47 rifle plated in Versace gold and bragged, “Nobody lied…….. iam a star & got a chopper in the car #TrulyUnruly #Rapcellency”.

He also flaunted a rolex solid 18k gold day date presidential model for men with a diamond dial plus a yellow gold lion head ring. Photo of The Day: Kenyan Model kicking it with Arsenal’s Theo Walcott

With the Gunners currently at the top of the table and their fans the chest thumping all over, this news will greatly interest them and maybe make them feel a sense of belonging. Recently, Arsenal’s forward, Theo Walcott was spotted hanging out with a Kenyan model in Dubai.

The pacy forward bumped into Kris Kims, a Kenyan male model based in the UAE. Take a look;

Kris_Kims_n_Walcott.jpg

Kims is a part-time model/actor who used to do runway fashion model and print adverts. He has also been featured in Avril’s Chokoza video and Toxic’s (now based in UK) video back then when he was in Kenya.

Octopizzo’s Video Gets To 400,000 Hits, Giving Ghafla’s Investors Exposure (VIDEO)

Octopizzo’s ostentatious music videos are a hit with the masses! If you do not believe me, please get on youtube and check out how many hits the lad’s videos get. He is one of the few Kenyan artists who is at par with Nigeria’s artists. And the song of which I speak is the one which had it’s video shot at 88MPH: Nini.

Octopizzo, numba nane’s numero uno shot the video for “Nini” at 88MPH who are the people who invested in Baba Ghafla’s dream. The video has garnered hits just shy of 400,000 and if that says nothing about the lad’s superstar status and the quality of the video itself then I have no idea what will.
