DJ Creme is one of the most highly sort after DJs in Kenya. No. While Uganda and Tanzania have entertainers who put Kenyan entertainers to shame, Kenya has the best DJs in East, Central and Southern Africa. The best Djs in Africa are Kenyan and Creme is one of the best DJs in Kenya ergo…

And it reflects when his gross worth is estimated at well over 15 million. Yep. Not 15 million Ugandan shillings (I don’t deal in dud currency) or 15 million tanzanian shillings (I don’t deal in weak currency either), I mean 15 million Kenyan shillings -you know, the only currency worth having in East and Central Africa?

Well he granted Nations’ Boniface Mwalii an interview last year where all was revealed. Ands before we even take a step further, let me reveal his Illuminati connection:

Boniface Mwalii: Based on that background, how do you relate to the illuminati accusations surrounding your current success?

DJ Creme: Do I seriously even look like an illuminati?

What I tell myself is, I have to understand that a lot of people and fans will never have a chance to know me personally so their understanding of me is informed by what they read in the papers or the internet.

When I started doing that hand sign it was purely showbiz. If anything, as a geek, I read lots of literature and I actually own a couple of books on freemasonry, including “The Truth Behind Masonry” and “The Masonic Brotherhood”, which I read just to further my knowledge.

But beyond that, I just work hard and God has come through for me in everything I’ve done.

Then now for the question on net worth:

Boniface Mwalii: Off the top of your head, how much are you worth?

He first burst into the limelight in 2009 with his track, Wi Mutheru, that had everyone from all corners of the country sing along to.

He later teamed up with Daddy Owen and Kerah to bring you another hot track, Kiriro. However, Allan Aaron was never to be heard of for succeeding years.

In spite of this, Allan Aaron has decided that 2014 is the year of that he’s returning to his formerly enjoyed prosperity. He has released the first video ‘Kiundu’ from his upcoming album also by the same name.

The track and video has been produced by Fullhouse music which is also home to Holy Dave, Kelele Takatifu, Dee and Christ Cycoz among others.

When Nameless dropped his comeback track, Kenyans received it with mixed reviews. However, one Kenyan in particular took particular exception to the track and he is none other than Kevin Provoke. The lad heard the song and decided that he wasn’t feeling it and he wanted everyone to know.

Now, the thing about Kevin Provoke is that he is a damn good producer. I do not begrudge him that. He has brought many a star into the fore of Kenya’s entertainment scene with his fine production work. However, when I saw this, I wasn’t in agreement with his opinion.

So Uncle Chim Tuna reached out to Nameless for a comment. The big homie Monski reached out and when I had told him what Kev in Provoke said, he responded thus:

“Guys will always have their own opinions and they have a right to them. But the thing most guys don’t get is that when I do English songs I always twist the words so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I did it in African Beauty.
Nigerian music is at the front of people’s minds right now so that’s the first thing they thought when I released the song. I try to manage people’s expectations when I’m releasing a song.”

This response was at Boss level 9000!

I found a rather cute picture of DJ Creme’s son Jamari. While I was astounded at how big he’s gotten, I was more astounded by the fact that he is a dead look-a-like for his father -well, you know, give or take a few years. Ok, maybe alot of years.

I couldn’t help but feel such an overwshelming “Aawwww!” swell up in my gut. Then I belched, got it out of my system and manned up instantly. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that Baba Jamari looks alot like his son or is it vice versa? Who’s lending their name to a good cause—and who just shows up for the year-end gala? When it comes to doing good, sometimes the best thing celebrities have to offer is not money, but themselves. And that, the likes of Jaguar, Daddy Owen, Brenda Wairimu, Vera Sidika among others know too well.

And now yet another celeb has joined the noble cause.

It’s barely a week after Peter Mulei launched Xtreem Foundation. The foundation aims to see needy students from humble backgrounds access and get good education from high school to university.

As at yesterday, they had already sent six students from different counties to their respective schools and with several others waiting for disbursement. Today Mulei is a happy man that he lived to see one Kiseu Munywoki William an ‘A’ student and the top student in Taita Taveta County, get admitted at the Alliance High School, with the entire fees (from form 1 to form 4) paid in full, university taken care of and promised a good Job .

“I want to challenge all of you that you don’t have to do everything, just do what you can to make a difference in someone’s life”, pleads Mulei.

“We are looking at getting partners, friends and well-wishers contributing to the foundation or getting interested in paying the fees to the schools. We intend to be sponsoring over 200 students for a start and grow to 1000 students a year.We are also working on modes of how people can help us reach our goals with their contributions”, concludes Mulei.

Octopizzo has b een the name on everyone’s tongue for a minute now. Last year, it was due to an Illuminati allusion. People felt he had made too much money overnight for it to have been legit. When everyone was taunting him about his Illuminati “links”, Octo did something I have never seen a Kenyan artist do in the midst of controversy: He embraced it. that was when I knew Kenya had a real star!

He used the buzz around the shadowy collusion of dark minds bent on world domination to shine brighter by playing with the Kenyan psyche. And he made money! Octopizzo was one of the most sought after artists in Kenya.

Then the year 2013 died as all things under the sun must and what is time but the music the world makes as it revolves and rotates round the sun?
But as the new year was ushered in, controversy was stalking Octopizzo in the form of Khaligraph Jones.

Khaligraph Jones is one of the hottest and hungriest young rappers out going for the crown and he took shots. But he went too far. he brought up Octo’s wife. I looked for Octo for a comment and I got one from Numba Nane’s finest.

OCTO SPEAKS:

Octo explained that he has gained more than Khaligraph from this pseudo beef. He got 20,000 new followers on twitter. Add the math on how valuable that makes Octo given that he gets paid to tweet!

Octo also explained a new concept I have only heard Baba Ghafla speak of: he has monetized his name so everytime someone takes shots at him, they p[ay him! CHECKMATE.

If these two reasons do not convince you that Octo isn’t just talented but cerebral aswell, then allow me to add yet another point. Let us now reveal the bigger picture:
Octo is a don. That is undeniable. If you doubt that, I dare you to take a walk to Kibera and badmouth their lad. Octo revealed to Uncle Chim Tuna that he did want to respond -his youngins wanted him to spill some lyrical blood. The wanted Octo to do what Tupac did when he made the song “Hit ‘Em Up”: they wanted Octo to spill blood and put them on the scene.

However, as he was analyzing the track, he heard Khaligraph cross the line and mention his wife. At that point, he realized his team might escalate things. He feels this is the point at which he should take a step back and deal with the issue as a man and a father.

Why did he choose to open up to Uncle Chim Tuna? Because the best only talk to the best. Octopizzo is at his peak and the only person who can understand what it means to be at the apex of the mountain are the people seated at the peak: Ghafla.

And that was when Uncle Chim Tuna fully came to recognize Octopizzo as more than a man, more than a brand and more than a don. We are watching a king in the making. As brave as a lion and yet as cunning as a fox!

Most recently, Gospel artists have come under fire from both within and externally. Late last year, Willy Paul became victim of this after Gospel deejays declined to play one of his latest songs alleging that it’s “ungodly” something that forced the young singer head back to the studio to make amends on the song.

Most recently, Jimmy Gait stirred up dust when it emerged that he splashed a whopping 2.5 million on his latest video, even though he has since denied the same.

These two cases are just a pie of the pizza as there a lot more instances where Gospel artists are ‘judged unfairly’. And now, Truth FM’s lead presenter, Paul K has come out to ask why all these pointing of fingers?

Here’s what he opines;

“I am a concerned man. Of late, there has been a lot of attacks on Our Gospel artists. All kinds of speculations that I honestly don’t like every time I read anything negative about my Brothers and sisters. I have a question today- Who are these people spreading this rumors? It breaks my heart to say that they are those who proclaim Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. Satan is succeeding at pitting Christians against Christians.

It completely breaks my heart. It breaks my heart because the Jesus that I know is a Jesus of love and grace. He showed mercy and compassion for all (even those who were against Him). His greatest act of love was taking my place on that cross. Trust me, I am not saying that we should let fellow Christians get away with sin. I have also always been told that when a fellow Christian falls into sin we are to take them aside privately, if they don’t listen then you bring a couple more along to help you, and if that doesn’t turn them from their sin then they are brought before the church.

The Bible also tells us that when we pass judgment that we will be judged by the same measure. The bottom line is that any time you are calling someone out it should come from a place of love and not from a place of “my walk is so much better than yours”. The bottom line is that when we we pass judgment on them are we saying that we have ALWAYS called out EVERYTHING we have ever witnessed that is against God’s kingdom or even those things that aren’t edifying?

Are we saying that we have NEVER once enjoyed a non-Christian movie, comedian, musician, etc? Basically, are you really telling me that your nose is only in the Bible every waking moment of the day? Just remember, use the same measure you are to be judged by before you comment. I hope we change by God’s grace.”

It’s not April Fools and I am not pulling your leg. Washington and Colorado legalized weed then Uruguay. Kenya has followed suit. And that is no joke! Uncle Chim Tuna doesn’t play with his weed. And I can finally say that because the Government of Kenya has legalized the herb.

I came across a very interesting piece in The People that was actually done on the 2nd of January that reported that the government has allowed thousands of farmers in Murang’a County to commercial bhang farming. The pilot project will engage more than 3,000 farmers from the county to produce 1000 kilos of bhang each which translates to nine million kilos per season.

Simon Mwaura the Chief Executive Officer of Hyaquip Kenya, says the project seeks to explore the positive side of bhang from being an illegal drug to a vital food supplement.
Mwaura said this is now a reality after using an organic compound to remove the caffeine in the plant, leaving it with only minerals such as potassium and calcium which are vital to the body.

“Caffeine is the only thing which causes a chemical reaction in the body leading to bhang addiction but we have found a way of removing it to make the plant fit for consumption,” he said. “The supplement can also be used in cooking food or blended into drinks for spicing. Besides containing minerals, the marijuana supplement can also act as alcohol neutralizer and addiction suppressor.”

“People who take alcohol can use the supplement to suppress the addiction and remain sober for long,” he added. The CEO who is a biochemist said he had written to National Authority Campaign Against Drug Abuse (Nacada) seeking permission to carry out the project and he has been authorised.

Mwaura said he intends to roll out the project for three years before implementing it in other counties. “There are approximately 5,000 acres currently under bhang plantation in Muranga county alone which is being done illegally,” he said. He said the project will be rolled out with the co-operation of county administrators to help mop out illegal bhang plantations.

Mwaura said the first step would be to contract the farmers currently growing bhang to persuade them to give up illegal bhang growing. He further added that the farmers engaging in commercial bhang farming will be required to obtain a special permit from the county government. Farmers will be required to pay back 10 per cent of their profit to the county government.

He burst into the spotlight with entertaining hit ‘Hivyo Ndio Kunaendaga’ which he had done  together with V6 and Kenrazy.

The song was inspired by a horrible life experience,a time where he almost got violated by fellow inmates in jail where he had been imprisoned for an year.

He says that one time his cellmates ganged up against him a and wanted to molest him but he would have none of it and ended up fighting them and in the process lost consciousness.On waking up he found himself in a different cell and on asking the cop what happened the cop simply answered “hivo ndio kunaendanga”

Anyhow life after jail has been okay for him considering he got to team up with some of the best in Hivyo ndio kunaendanga .He is now  flying solo and has dropped the video for his song “Si Umarry”

There have been alot of murmurs and whispers about Abraham Bamboo backsliding but until there is evidence, it shall remain a rumour and Uncle Chim Tuna doesn’t deal in rumours. i deal in money. And on very rare occasion, female ahem! Back to the song.

The track is the love child from the reunion of Bamboo and Abbas Kubaff who were both part of the legendary Kenyan hiphop group K-South. i for one happen to be happy for a musical offering. Why do i consider this a reply from the universe? Well, just yesterday i said that while both are great rappers, they had no new offering and here we are.

The track is indeed a return to K-South’s unorthodox way of making music but at the end of the day the track is a damn good song!
You can just tell from watching the video that the pair had some wild fun shooting the video and indeed, making the track. And that fact lends itself to adding some entertainment to the track.

The track came out a while back and was a real party anthem. Any DJ playing a Kenyan set had to play this jam or get inundated with requests for it. G-Kon had finally ended his fixation to Avril and was finally making good music and now, the video to that track has finally dropped.

G-Kon who alleged that he had slept with Kenyan RnB songstress Avril to anyone who was willing to have their ear bent teamed up with Calvo Mistari for this up-tempo party track and magic was born off their alchemy.

The track “Vile Inafaa Kufanywa”  is set in an estate somewhere with dancers doing their thing in step with the beat which I must say is a testament to each one’s cardiovascular fitness! Think about it, have you ever tried dancing to a couple of jams in a club or pub? You get knackered and you’re doing it slowly and out of rhythm!

Aye anyway, the video was shot by VJ One and the audio recorded, mastered and (basically) produced at Jomino and I feel that it might just be a signal that Jomin are back on the come up.

Kenya’s production powerhouse  Taurus Music were out hunting and are now proud to present the freshest unique duo of raga and hip-hop, Sofia.

This Ugandan duet whose group name origin is Hebrew word wisdom which inspires their soulful mash up. This brilliant pair are a two part harmony with Waterfall the male act who sings and plays the guitar and lovely Audrey who not only has a beautiful voice but a fabulous rapper that managed to pick up the skill while performing spoken word performance.

Sofia is currently working on their two hit singles which have a neo-soul/raga beat and garneted to be the most soul music to fill your ears this year.

Their soulful lyrical combination to say the least is awing as they use English, Ugandan, Swahili and Luo as are huge factors attributing to their diverse culture heritage.

Watch this space people Sofia will soon be a force to be reckoned with.
