Find Out Why Jaguar Doesn’t Appear On The List Of MCSK’s Highest Earners

Yesterday, my colleague Jeff Omondi and I were invited over to MCSK to watch as the highest earner was given his cheque which was worth roughly about half a million. While there, we perused the list and talked about it with Debbie Asila and a photographer from Standard called Moses. But this isn’t about breakfast.

When Jeff put up the list, I heard some unsavoury comments from both within the team and from social media about Jaguar missing from the list. People kept asking and I quote, “Why isn’t Jaguar on the list? For all his roaring and hit songs, how come he isn’t on the list?” The comments had me like:

Come on people, think! The list was strictly a representation of royalties earned and how they were earned over MCSK’s ended fiscal year. Jaguar only recently released “Kioo” so ofcourse he wouldn’t feature on the list. But I guarantee he will be on the list at the end of this current fiscal year.

WP_20140226_0031.jpg

And another thing, only bitter Bettys, salty Sallys and hateful Harriets cheer on when they think someone is doing badly. Jaguar I can guarantee doesn’t lose sleep over his haters so why are you wasting your energy sharing you ignorant, idiotic, insipid ideas about why he didn’t feature? Granted, everyone has a right to an opinion but thou shalt not speak before Uncle Chim Tuna has weighed in.

And since it seems people want to count Jaguars money, how is this, don’t! The lad made 2 million out of performances in one weekend. Now nibling, run along.

Eric Omondi Meets The Beautiful Wambui Popularly Known As ‘Momo’ (Photo)

One of Churchill show’s best comedians, Eric Omondi is always up to something amusing. If he is not cross dressing, he is lathering himself with soap and posing in a towel or posing with people who are triple his size.

He recently met up with the voluptuous woman who plays the Momo in the hit song Ino Ni Momo by Murimi wa Ka half. For those who have not watched it you can watch it below

{youtube}O2zvE2vxf8{/youtube}

The song is basically about a young man who went to the city only to end up in the arms of a voluptuous randy sugar mummy. Since her appearance in the video Janet Wambui has become a celebrity in her own right and has been featured in some episodes of popular comedy Papa Shirandula alongside the dramatic “Wa Firithi” Eric Omondi met the star and could not resist a picture:

Meet The New Lady In Octopizzo’s Life -And His Wife Doesn’t Seem To Mind (PHOTO)

Octopizzo is the lad that rose from obscurity to take over the Kenayn entertainment scene to the point where anything he does is of national import. So it was obvious that when he posted the picture of his new lady, I would be very interested. And indeed I am. So I am now posting the picture.

He welcomed the lass recently -I do believe it hasn’t been more than a month or two but his wife gets all the credit for bringing her safely into this world and Octo is proud of her. And why shouldn’t she be? She is just the cutest little lass living. Check her out below:

And it looks like he managed to fit all the ladies ion his life in this picture that will melt your heart. And mine too… If I had a heart. Congratulations to the couple though.

Check Out Victoria Kimani’s Track Featuring Busta Rhymes

What is progress all about? Trust me when I tell you that It’s not about fighting over song ownership. That should have been done and dusted by the time you stepped into the booth. Progress is about getting legends like Busta Rhymes on a song with you. It’s about working with Ron Browz.

Progress is Victoria Kimani. The lass hates it when I refer to her as Bamboo’s little sister but what can I do? It’s like a package deal. But today let me try a different approach. Vicky Kimani is the sexy, sassy sultry songstress who gave us the club banger called “Toto“.

But before we even knew her, she was making headway in America. So much so that she was able to get Bus-a-Bus on a track back when he and Ron Browz were ruling the roost. They did a track together called “ShinShin” that I want to share with you seeing as today is Play Kenyan Music Thursday.

So without further ado, I present to you:

Check Out How Gracefully Capital FM’s Amina Is Handling Her Pregnancy. She Putting on Weight In All The Right Places (PHOTO)

Motherhood is indeed the greatest calling a woman can have. To bring a life forth into the world is something that only a woman can do and for that they have Uncle Chim Tunde’s eternal respect. but that is before we begin to dissect the levels of female from ladies, women and canines. But this isn’t about binomial nomenclature.

So now let us jump right into the story.

A couple of weeks ago, I announced to the world that a source of mine had told me that Amina, the lass that featured on Jay A’s first hit was pregnant and I am glad I got the drop on everyone except Capital folk who decided to remain mum about this.
Anyway, a picture was recently posted on social media that showed her in all her full glory and I must say that the lass has been putting on weight in all the right places. I guess this is the “pregnancy glow” I have been hearing about.

Anyway, check her out below:

I am slowly losing count of Lupita’s accolades, awards, magazine covers and television interviews.

But I am not complaining for Lupita continues making our country and Africa at large super proud. The chocolate chic achieved yet another feat, she bagged a beauty spread in Essence magazine’s March 2014 issue.

Kenya, Make Room for Africa’s Next Sexy Sassy Singing Sensation

She burst into the limelight as the eye-candy by Kus Ma’s side before later emerging that she is the ‘bad boy’ lady #1 (or is it 2?). We would later learn that she would be taking the lead vocalist baton from the delightful Miss Karun (now Karun).

Well, Tiri Murai has now grown her wings and ready to fly.

Tiri has been on the grind dropping project after project alongside her group mates Shappamann, & Kusma also working alongside international acts like Zone Fam (Zambia). Her work has been featured on Channel O, BET, Trace and MTV Base. Her latest efforts have resulted in her new mixtape: Nefertiri

Tiri.jpg

The project has taken several months of hard work and commitment and will be released on  Saturday 8th March in a venue to be disclosed in the next few days.

The mixtape consists of 8 songs featuring Kagwe Mungai, Kanja, Thee MC Africa not forgetting African super producer Kus Ma.

“I decided to call it Nefertiri after the Egyptian queen Nefertiti, that is after customizing the queen’s name and mine, she symbolizes a lot of stuff in my life and just like she had her own empire I’m looking forward to starting mine,” reveals Tiri.

The Thirst Is Real! Nick Mutuma Salivates Over Caroline Mutoko And Gets Caught On Camera

I never thought I would ever see the day Nick Mutuma would be thirsty over anyone. No homo but this lad looks like the type of lad who gets whomever he wants with the most minimum of effort. Aye, even I will admit that he is fetching. But now, please let me unmount my fanboy tip and move on with the story.

Nick Mutuma and Yvonne Darcq were recently at the KISS 100 studios to promote their new song on Adelle Onyango’s immensely popular mid-morning show. While at the studios, he came across the rather comely Caroline Mutoko whom I must admit has aged like wine and the inner thirst, a thirst oft kept hidden deep within us was unleashed.

Nick Mutuma couldn’t help but stare. And though he thought he was slick, someone snapped a photo at just the right moment and this was the result:

Ghafla Poll Results :Huddah Monroe And Mustapha’s Relationship. Love Or A Publicity Stunt?

Huddah and Colonel Mustapha have had a very rough two weeks in regards to their new relationship

From Nyota Ndogo taking shots at Mustapha to Prezzzo dismissing their relationship as a publicity stunt to the fans expressing their doubts; this relationship has quite a rocky start.

I am one to call it as I see it and I was of the opinion that the relationship was a shoddily orchestrated publicity stunt. Turns out I was not the only one who thought so,this is according to a poll which we conducted yesterday asking you Huddah Monroe And Mustapha. Is This Love Or A Publicity Stunt?

A Livid Colonel Moustapha Launches A Scintillating, Scathing, Searing Attack At Nyota Ndogo Accusing Her Of Being Prezzo’s Puppet! Tells Both Of Them To Go to Hell

Yesterday, the only other writer I rate, Jeff Omondi got wind of the bile put on social media b y Nyota Ndogo about Colonel Moustapha’s now very public relationship with Huddah. The relationship that a weekly entertainment rag decided was a publicity stunt. And since then, this has been one very wild ride -a bit like riding a hurricane that thinks it’s a ballerina.

But given how sensitive this matter is, they decided to give it to me because there is poetry in how bulls daintily dance around a china shop. So allow twinkle toes to tippy-toe round the issue.

Yesterday, Nyota Ndogo attacked Colonel Moustapha with such venom it almost seemed like envy. This is just some of what she said:

Today, Mzazi Willy M. Tuva decided to get to the bottom of things and he called both Moustapha and Nyota Ndogo. And things went from bad to worse. And here, I mean really went from bad to worse. Nyota Ndogo sought to ingratiate herself  to Colonel Moustapha by saying that they are actually friends but Colonel was having none of it.

When Tuva called Nyota Ndogo, she said and I quote, “Heb muulize Colonel kama angependa kumona mama yake akiwa amevaa hivyo.

I wonder where Colonel Moustapha’s mother comes into all this. But that was just some of what Nyota had to unleash. And when it was Colonel Moustapha’s turn to speak he tore at her accusing her of being Prezzo’s puppet. He said, “Huyo ni tu puppet ya Prezzo. Mbona hakuongea ile time nilikuwa nina ingiliwa kwasababu ya picha za huyo underage?”

He then went on to tear at Prezzo for instigating Nyota’s rants. When Prezzo was called, he said he does not deign it worth a response. He doesn’t believe in getting involved in this mess while he has projects coming up.

The recordings of these verbal exchanges are coming up soon. Keep it Ghafla for more as this story continues to unfold.

Exclusive Photos from Caroline Mutoko’s Mum’s Classy & Elegant Birthday Bash

Last Saturday was especially important to radio queen Caroline Mutoko. One, her adorable daughter, Nduku was ‘dedicated’ to God at the St. Austin’s Catholic Church which saw the little girl get a new name. The second occasion was equally significant to her.

Her doting mum was celebrating her birthday; the very reason she chose to baptize her daughter on the same day since she was named after her.

She said, “It was mum’s birthday and Nduku’s baptism. Nduku is named after my Mum and I couldn’t think of a better gift for her than to baptise Nduku and pledge before God to raise her as I was raised.”

Here are some photos from the occasion attended by close family and friends;

Sexy Kenyan Female Rapper Xtatic Opens Up About Gender Abuse, Posts Pictures

Xtatic is one of the most prolific rapper of our day and in this case, I don’t mean the most prolific female rapper. She puts alot of seasoned rappers to shame with her prowess. So naturally, she is on my radar and when she posted a picture on her instagram and begun talking about spousal abuse, I was horrified. I had to find out what was going on.

So Uncle Chim did some digging and came across some very interesting facts. First off, the picture has nothing to do with Xtatic. She merely re-posted a picture of a lass who is rather fetching but suffered at the hands of her husband and when he was done with her, she was nothing but a pulp. Actually, when I showed the picture to Baba Ghafla, he couldn’t believe she was still alive.

Xtatic then posted a comment that was meant to give insight into where she stands when it comes to matters physical abuse and trust me, she leaves no doubt as to how much she abhors gender based violence. Check out the alarming picture below:

http://distilleryimage7.ak.instagram.com/871978e29e3511e387020e4547f39cc3_8.jpg

xtaticsamzThe first time of abuse should be last time ,don’t stick around for change or whatever Infact there should be no first or second time ….any signal of an abusive person should be the last time. I can’t say I don’t understand this because …well … *sighs* it happened to me not by a boyfriend but someone really close it still affects me sometimes but let’s keep that for another day and say a prayer to @bambiiiii_ A beautiful girl who shouldn’t have gone through this well no one should LIKE EVER . YOU DONT have the right to lay a hand on anyone ,man, woman ,boy or girl. It’s heart breaking.

Kenya’s First Karate Movie Will Get You Laughing Hysterically (Photo)

Back in the day, before Nigerian movies and Mexican Soap Operas took over the Kenyan market, Karate movies were quite fashionable.

That is how we got to know about the likes of Jet Li, Bruce lee and Jackie Chan. The movies were often accompanied by the voice-over of DJ Afro whose commentary made the movies more interesting.

As it turns out not only the Chinese could make these movies but also Kenyans, check out this side-splitting clip by the name Gicagi that has been nominated for three categories in the River Wood academy awards. They have been nominated for the Best feature, Best Cinematography and best lead actor categories

Did DJ Mo Instigate DJ Sadic’s Sacking from NTV’s Gospel Show ‘Crossover 101’? We Tell You the Unbiased Truth

The

Last month, we told you that NTV’s Crossover Chart, a Gospel show that aired on Saturdays, was going on a break after a very successful first season. However, it now emerges that there’s more than meets the eye concerning the termination of the show and settlement of only one deejay on the Sunday Show, Crossover 101.

Tuesday, DJ Sadic, former deejay and host on Crossover Chart allegedly reprimanded fellow Gospel deejay, DJ Mo for having a hand in his sacking from any of the NTV shows, which was according to Ghetto Radio blog.

However, DJ Mo denies ever having thoughts of kicking out Sadic from the Sunday show.

“Sina powers za ku-stopisha mtu job”, states Mo adding, “That was the management’s decision that affected the Sato show and saw the Sunday show cut down to only one DJ and a host. That was part of the many in-house changes.”

DJ_Mo_new.jpg

The ‘topa de top’ deejay further adds, “Hakuna haja ya kuniharibia jina coz NTV wame-make decisions” and challenged us to talk to the producer of the show as to why Allan T and DJ Sadic were discontinued from the show.

Speaking to the show’s producer, Hilda Wellah, she stated emphatically, “These are lies.”

Hilda_NTV_producer.jpg

The resourceful producer questioned, “Who is DJ Mo to make decision at NMG or influence how decisions are made?” and added, “Whatever decision the management makes is unanimous and nobody can influence it. We have meetings and decisions are made and that’s final. Even I, as the producer, can’t influence my boss…”

Hilda further reveals that it was up to the management to decide whether or not to renew the contracts of Allan T and DJ Sadic and they deemed fit that DJ Mo and Faith (Muturi) should deejay and host respectively the Crossover 101 show.

In conclusion she says that there was no bad blood between any of the show’s participants and advices whoever started that rumours saying, “If you’re doing Gospel you should have a clean heart because that’s what God prescribes. Gospel is not secular where you have ‘beefs’ to gain mileage.”

According to DJ Sadic however he can’t make head or tail of these rumours. In a statement to Ghafla! Sadic says;

“I don’t know where those stories are coming from they are merely rumours…No one was fired from Crossover. DJs are there on contract and not permanent basis. When the period ends you can choose to renew or not depending on the terms and conditions. As for the Saturday show Crossover chart it took a break. That’s all. There’s no beef between me and Mo. Mo has no power to cancel a show any decisions made or actions taken are by the management.”

Maybe it’s about time to call that truce.

Caroline Mutoko Now Weighs In On Mavuno Church’s Issue

Mavuno’s liberal standpoint on religion has often elicited upheaval but not like the one that was experienced on social media following their Blurred lines poster on their Teenz Konnekt Twitter page

This convention aimed at enlightening teenagers about sex in a language that they can understand and relate to, pop culture. The church drew inspiration from popular 2013 hits such as Monster by Eminem and Rihanna, You Guy by P-Unit and popular BDSM book Fifty Shades Of Gray

The pandemonium caused on social media by the poster led to a discussion on Maina and King’ang’i which was followed by celebrities expressing their opinion on the poster and finally Maina interviewing Pastor M of Mavuno Church.

Today another celebrity is rallying behind Pastor M,Caroline Mutoko. This decision was after she watched the video below

{youtube}F84GpaPr3dE{/youtube}

Carol said this

“I want to thank Grace for sending this video to me. Her message is simple – when PASTOR M says let’s talk about the blurred lines – this is what he means.

I have never seen so many happy, beautiful, fresh faced teens in one space.
However, the sight of those young, young girls, grinding their butts against the groins of those young men is enough to say once again to Pastor M- Preach!”

Lari Marathon; Run For A Cause & Enjoy Live Performances

Kiambu Lari Marathon

Kiambu County has launched Lari Marathon, the first ever to be ran in a forest. Aimed at conserving the environment through sports, the track will be ran at the extensive Kereita Forest in Lari Sub-County.

lari_2.jpg

Speaking during the launch at the Kiambu County Office the Minister for Environment Kiambu County Esther Njuguna said that it was painful to see the Forest degradation take toll of the largest forest in the County and called for urgent measures to be put in place to conserve the earth.

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo noted the importance of conserving the environment and especially the water catchment areas. He said that his government is committed to conserving water towers and will be planting over 100,000 trees inside the forest.

lari_1.jpg

He was backed by Minister for youth and Sports affairs Machel Waikenda who called upon the youth to plant trees in large numbers. “As youth we are better placed to set examples. We need to start planting trees and make it a lifestyle to start attracting masses to joining us. The first marathon will be fun, as we run and plant trees. New talent will be also tapped and raised from the event,” said Waikenda.

The Marathon is divided into the full and half marathons, 10km corporate and 5km children’s races and the winners of the full marathon will bag Sh300, 000 while those who will finish second and third will take home Sh200, 000 and Sh100,000 respectively.

lari_3.jpg

On completion of the Marathon, there will be a music concert in the heart of Kereita Forest dubbed “Jazz in theWild”. Jazz in the Wild a musical project that supports conservation efforts in African rangelands. The project uses music as a tool to promote conservation and eco-tourism in Kenya.

Leading Kenyan artistes and comedians are expected to endorse the message of conservation.

Study: P Unit is the Group to Beat on Radio

Today, Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) has revealed that boy-group, P Unit is in fact the most popular music group on radio. According to a report released, P Unit emerged not only the most popular artist but also the top royalty earners in radio stations.

The radio stations include Kiss 100, Homeboyz Radio, Ghetto Radio and Hot 96. However, despite leading on radio, the group was beaten to the number one spot by Junior Kotestes who emerged as the highest overall earner in the broadcasting category of MCSK royalties’ distribution declared on 28/02/2014.

P-Unit_new.jpg

With the enhanced focus on regional based stations, there has been increased royalties paid by the regional-based stations and there has been increased submission of log sheets which has directly ensured that the regional musicians whose music has been broadcast within the regional and / or vernacular stations have earned more royalties.

MCSK announced that there has been an increased number of artistes who will receive six (6) figure royalty cheques in comparison to last financial year. In this year distribution the top forty (40) musicians have all received six figure payments. Last financial year, it was only the top ten who were within six figure amounts.

MCSK Chairman, Michael Maganzo, Junior Kotestes & MSCK Rift Valley Director, Bernard Mukaisi

Further, this financial year, the highest earner has received close to 30% more than what the highest earner received in the last financial year. It is expected that by the time the distributions are completed i.e. after the April 30th distribution and June 27th (compensating Oct 2013) distributions, the highest earner is likely to receive almost twice what the highest earners received last financial year and will be well in the seven digit amounts.

However, the Society is not at liberty at this stage to disclose individual earnings but will disclose the same after consultation with the respective top earners.

I Am Gay. And Thousands Of Kenyans Are Gay Too: Gay Gospel Artiste Says

Uganda’s tyrannical stance on homosexuals has elicited a raging debate in the world, the gay supporters vs. the homophobic, the liberals vs. the conservatives; everyone is talking about the Ugandan anti-Homosexuality bill.

This is due to the oppressive penalties that will be imposed on the homosexuals that consists of life sentences for gay intercourse and same-sex marriage.

Kenya’s first gay gospel artiste and drag queen came out to condemn the move and Uganda’s president. He did this in an honest letter sent to Cabugah, have a look:

My name is George. But I am popularly known as Joji Baro. I have been Gay ALL MY LIFE. And I have a few things to say.

Museveni has opened the wounds. He is the 2nd Iddi Amin Dada. He has taken away nationality of African, Ugandan homosexuals. Injustice in Uganda is Injustice worldwide.

Being in Power for over 18 years, Museveni thinks Uganda is economically able to survive
on bananas. His government is characterized by corruption, impunity and tribalism and all he
could prioritize was an anti-gay bill. This is politically motivated. To the common
mwananchi down to the ground so they can no longer have a voice to speak for what is theirs,
what is wrong and what is right.

Museveni likes picking fights with other countries. But fighting with USA is not worth it. Ugandan citizens are the only ones who will suffer.

One does not need rocket science to know that homosexuality is genetic, natural and inborn.
Even a 12th grade student knows about XY chromosomes.

Homophobia is not African. Homosexuality is. Why…because, Uganda is still reading the constitution and the bible which Colonists and missionaries respectively imposed and introduced on Africans during the
scramble and partition of Africa.

Homophobia was one way to control Africans. But now it is modern colonization. Enough of History.

Unfortunately ‘homophobics’ cannot be quarantined. They are so infectious, contagious and airborne. And they have infected Kenya. This is not treason. Sue me, assassinate me, put me under house arrest, send me into exile. But I would never cowardly live my personal life the way you want.

You made it public by including it in the constitution already. So don’t tell me that you don’t know what I do behind my four walls.

How many “straights” enjoy anal sex? Then why why label me as gay and not human? Why these labels?

Gays are the strongest people on earth. We have been subjected to HIV tests against our
will. Had “anal examination” to prove we are gay. We have been detained and released
without charges. We have been stoned mobbed. Forced into unhappy marriages and
sired children but still remained gays. Disowned by our family and friends. Denied access to
public amenities. Some of us have died while trying.

If Sodom and Gomorrah was completely burnt then why are gays still in Uganda, Kenya and
all over the world? Because We are survivors. We shall never been cowed nor intimidated. And
if this is the price we have to pay for being created as gay, then so be it.
We have pulled ourselves up. We are ready to reason with you. Now it is either OUR way, or the
Highway.

I am GAY. And thousands upon thousands of Kenyans are gay too.

Call me names, threaten me, curse me, ridicule me, jail me or kill me. Nothing will change.

I will never change. We will never change!!! I won’t defy my sexual orientation.

Kama mbaya,mbaya!!!

I therefore invite you to engage me in a debate. And tell me why I deserve 14 Years in jail for sleeping with a man. Or for dressing like a woman.

Convince Me. I am listening

What Happens When An Ugly Man Takes An “Ugly” Woman On A Date? Tujuane Has The Answer (VIDEO)

When a man calls a woman ugly, it is usually a sign that he is either rich or has such sex appeal that he has the pick of the litter. It is however not politically correct to go on record with such a statement. And when a man gets on National TV to make a statement like that, he is bound to get such severe blowback but this lad, this genius I am about to present to you is such a shmuck that the most memorable thing he said on the show Tujuane said, “Dame kiatu, mimi mwenyewe kiatu, nashindwa sasa, unapeleka pair mbili home ya nini ya viatu?”

Well, I have no idea why a man would seek to put down a lass on national TV. For those of you who do not know about the show Tujuane, it is a Kenyan dating show that seeks to link up willing men and women (and I dare say I hope it links hot females to other hot females aswell).

But maybe he actually had a valid reason for making the statements he made. I have no idea. But what I do know is that this episode of Tujuane promises to be explosive. Check out the trailer below:

REVEALED: Top 20 Music Money Makers of 2014. You’ll Be Shocked Who Earned the Most

As the music business rebounded in 2014, royalties from radio remained the biggest source of income for the top earners in the Kenya music business. Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) has just released the list of top earners and most popular artists.

For the first time in MCSK distributions a regional-based artist (vernacular artist) has emerged as the highest earner. The previous years have been dominated by mainstream artistes such as Nonini and P Unit.

This comes as good news for regional-based musicians considering MCSK has increased its focus on regional-based musicians (and not to mean that there will be neglect of mainstream musicians).

Without further ado I give you the top 20 earners/ most popular artistes;
