Twerking was all the rage in 2013 with Miley Cyrus twerking on a whim and girls uploading videos of them doing their best twerk, even men were not left out.

So trendy was this word that Oxford Dictionary decided to add it to their dictionary along with “selfie”

The dance which involves erotic hip movement and squats has also inspired songs such as Busta Ryhme’s “Twerk It” that features Nicki Minaj.It is the only type of dance  that has inspired animals to twerk along with their owners such as the cat in the GIF below

The world was apparently formed by blending the works twist and jerk or perhaps by alteration the word “footwork”. This is according to online magazine The Age

Willy Paul is one of the most loved and hated -it would seem gospel artists in the country. The lad is immensely popular and yet seems to attract such disdain but such is the burden celebrities have to bear. And he seems to be carrying his lot rather well indeed. No complaints. His only reply to his haters is usually in form of hit songs.

But today, I came across something rather strange, I came across a piece of information claiming that Willy Paul is a father. they alleged that Willy Paul had a baby but when push came to shove, he opted to deny the baby. This is what they posted:

So I sought to get to the bottom of the matter and I called up Willy Paul. he didn’t pick up. i tried around 4 times in total but eventually gave up and instead opted to whatsapp the lad. He responded.

The Moipei sisters’ US tour was facilitated by African Musical Arts in celebration of 20 years of cultural programming. Some of the major cities they will stop include stops in New York, Memphis, Jonesboro, Dallas, San Antonio, St. Louis, and ending in Chicago.

Ringtone’s new video “Muziki Ni Dawa” is back up in YouTube after it was pulled down for alleged ‘pornographic’ content.

This happened a while back but it begs the question, is someone out to derail the singer? It has been a hurdle after hurdle scenario for the singer and when news came in about him having a ‘pornographic video’ the curiosity was expected.

It seems it’s a great year for Kenya’s youngest record label, Candy n Candy Records. Fresh from releasing its first ever movie, the Mombasa Road-based label has just landed a new deal that will see it run Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa’s night club, Club Rhythms.

According to sources, the deal was sealed in late January and final reports made last Friday and currently, renovations and general outlook estimated to cost Ksh3.5million have already started on the club which had ceased operations 6 months ago.

Speaking to Word Is, Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa’sFood and Beverage Manager Mike Kamau, revealed to that Candy n Candy CEO, Joe Kariuki, was given one month to showcase his event management skills and if successful the deal will be signed for a whole year.

“We received many interested partners including top recording labels but we only preferred Candy n Candy because of their seriousness in music industry, after a month of serious business we will then determine whether to give them a full signed agreement or we deal away with it”, Kamau revealed.

On his part, Joe is upbeat that he will nail the deal with the rich experience he has accumulated in event’s organization and management.

Meanwhile the record label is on the precipice of launching a clothing line (not printed t-shirts) though details of that still remain scanty.

When I first came across the picture of Colonel Moustapha with Huddah, I figured it would make a hot story. And indeed, I was proved right. My knack for going viral is uncanny. And I guess that is the reason why like roaches from the light bloggers both within the kitchen and externally run to me for a tip or just to plagiarize my work. And so outside of Jeff Omondi everyone else holds a candle to my sun. I shall cut it short hear because my praise of self might make weaker stomachs sick.

So what is it about Colonel and Huddah that has the entire country in a tizzy? Well, there is the fact that Uncle Chim Tunde (my name is actually Tunde, Tuna was how Kenyans understood it) is writing about them. Second is the fact that they may very well be the Kenyan version of Bonnie and Clyde.
Both Colonel and Huddah have had rough patches when it comes to romance. Colonel Moustapha has had some public love affairs that blew up in spectacular fashion. Huddah has been dissed by Prezzo equally in spectacular fashion. And both of them do not give a flying freckled fudge what you think about them.

I think there is something about people who genuinely are unencumbered by your opinions about them that irks most people. People who are willing to live their lives without giving too much of a concern about what you think of them.
And that is what seems to be bothering Nyota Ndogo. The Coastal songstress recently took to social media to release a barrage of insults aimed at Colonel Moustapha and I am left wondering why she is so salty. Think about it, why would what Colonel Moustapha does bother Nyota Ndogo? Why would you be salty? If it’s a stunt, that is what has propped up the entertainment industry in places like America and the U.K so why start complaining now?

I do not recall Huddah giving opinions on Nyota Ndogo so why are you offering your opinions? Personally, I think we should enjoy the ride. Just chill and enjoy the show. Their lives, our entertainment. Now let everyone else chime in with their two cent… 2nd rate writers writing dastardly, dated data.

A day before Valentine’s Day, a photo was sent to us of Huddah Monroe and Colonel Mustapha in an intimate saucy position. A day later another photo was ‘leaked’, this time, Huddah was topless.

This led to speculations that they were dating and Mustapha even confirmed to Pulse and Ghafla that they were an item and in love and he was planning a special getaway for both of them. The newest celebrity couple was then hosted on Mwanaisha Chidzuga’s show to open up about their relationship and what followed was the clumsiest conversation ever.

Watching it was pretty painful and sad. Personally I’ve seen someone walking barefoot on blistering hot coals with a porcupine strapped to his back look more comfortable than these two .Their conversation started with them denying that they were dating to Huddah saying that she was interested in him but not the money, which was followed with her saying that money is not everything. A lot of information in that interview was contradictory and they were over their head with lies. The whole thing was pretty awkward, the body language was off; they looked like they wanted to run out of the studio and the words “Publicity Stunt” kept popping in my head.

While I appreciate a good publicity stunt, this one isn’t working darlings. It’s badly planned clumsy and I think Mustapha is just assassinating his music career which is already clinging on a very weak last straw. But that is just my opinion.

The following isn’t exactly earth-shaking news but when was the last time a celebrity baptism made headlines? Actually, not many celebrity parents decide to have their children christened every day and so when one does, that’s great news!

Last Saturday, Kiss 100’s Caroline Mutoko took her little daughter for baptism two months after she turned 3 at St.Austin Catholic Church, Nairobi.

The radio queen confirms that her little angel and explains why she chose the date;

“It was Mum’s birthday and Nduku’s baptism. Nduku is named after my Mum and I couldn’t think of a better gift for her than to baptise Nduku and pledge before God to raise her as I was raised.”

Nduku’s baptism wasn’t as splashy as Prince George’s christening nor did she wear a traditional gown. Instead, the little girl rocked a white outfit as got the most befitting name, Theodora.

Theodora is derived from the Greek words theos, meaning “god” and doron, meaning “gift. Theodora is gift of God and indeed that is my daughter in every way.

Caroline reveals why she Christened Nduku this name;

“She is a blessing and also a gift. Not a day goes by when I’m not fully aware that she was sent to me. She is a gift and one I must guard, guide and treasure. God has a plan for her – my duty, privilege and honour is to walk her through that journey.”

Definitely a great start for young Nduku.

On May 28^th 2008, a glorious Christian contemporary band was born in Nairobi and named Adawnage.

According to their biography the name Adawnage is a synthesis of three words A DAWN AGE, inspired by Isaiah 43:19.

For those not familiar with the verse it reads ‘’Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.’’

Since its inception 6 years ago the band has risen to become one of the most prolific Gospel bands with releasing an Album in 2010 by the name Safari that is made up of ten awesome songs.

Fast forward to 2014, the band is back with Mercy Surrounds Me, this is the first single off their much awaited second album. This is what they say about their new single

“Undeserving and unworthy, but yet He loves us. For this reason, we need to tell our souls to bless the Lord at all times, for He is good and His mercy endures forever. Mercy Surrounds Me is the first single off our upcoming second album.”

Refigah is a name that has been around and about in the Kenyan entertainment circles for a minute now ever since the days of “Mizizi” on KBC but after a while he just disappeared. Then like the mythical phoenix, he arose again, bigger and better than ever. But how did the lad who was born and bred in Kibera rise up from the crushing poverty that sought to keep him shackled?

Well, like all rags to riches stories, there is a struggle involved. The man who was the last born in a family of 7 admits that growing up, success was next to impossible as there were no role models to look upto. He was basically being ambitious about achieving the impossible but belief was what propelled to achieve more than he dared dream.

And from an artist, out came the enteprenuer he always was -having started a football league while still a child.He decided that he needed to combine his business acumen with his passion which was music and it paid off. But rather than tell his story, Why don’t I let him tell it to you himself.

That way he will be able to answer how he managed to amass such fabulous wealth in an industry known to be rough and cruel. The lad will explain whether he amassed his wealth from drug deals or whether he sold his soul to the Illuminati that everyone seems to be afraid of.

Octopizzo has bowed to pressure and addressed Khaligraph Jones in a scathing freestyle. This only weeks after saying he was going to side step the B.S but honestly, I cannot blame him. He is merely showing how responsive he is to his fans who had jammed his social media with tweets and posts about wanting a response.

And he launched his scathing attack which has now been christened “I Run Them Out” is a response and a clear indication that Octopizzo is not giving up his crown anytime soon. The freestyle is a response to Khaligraph Jones “I Run 254” and will be seen by many as a sign that the Kenyan entertainment scene will be boiling hot real soon.

For me this is really exciting because it is a new age of beef which the kids in High School will experience seeing as the last time there was a beef they were still in pre-primary or whatever you call the classes 5 year olds attend. Check out Octopizzo’s response here below.
