Vera Sidika Looking To Buy Ghafla? (PROOF)

Vera Sidika last night seems to have declared an interest in buying Ghafla!

And trust me that if she is spending 50 million plus to tone her skin that this is a reality. Imagine how much money her Nigerian financier would be willing to pour out for her if she actually decided to get serious about buying the beautiful business model that is Ghafla? Think of it in these terms:

50 million spent on vanity versus more money, proper money spent on a financially viable endeavour… The result would have a far reaching effect on the economy of the republic of Kenya and in the economy of the republic of Nigeria not to mention!

This was the tweeting she was trolling in:

Size 8 Is Not Done With Mateke. Check Out her New Hilarious Mateke (PHOTO)

Size 8 was trolled after her energetic yet violent (when you think about it a song about kicking anyone, even the devil is pro-violence for did Jesus not instruct Christians to turn the other cheek?) song “Mateke”. When Kenyans on Twitter got a hold on the photos of the performance, they manipulated them creating hilarious scenarios where she was going round kicking everyone.

 It seems the trend has not died down. Infact, it has all but died down with Size 8 now kicking Dutch superstar football player van Persie. You might know him from the days when he used to carry the entire Arsenal roster on his back or when he lifted Manchester United to an unfortunate title right before the team fell back to the position the rightfully belong (anywhere behind Liverpool). Anyway, check it out below:

Deejay Kalonje Now Directing Video For Some Of East Africa’s Biggest Stars (PHOTOS) CORRECTED

Check the bottom of the article for corrections edited in.

DJ Kalonje was at one point the youngest DJ in East and Central Africa to have taken up the trade professionally. He then became the hottest street DJ having taken over the matatu routes with his mixes. He moved on from that and became a straight up radio DJ -why I don’t know because I strongly felt the matatu route (yes, pun intended) to be the more lucrative option not to mention the one that would afford him the most freedom.

Now however, he has trained his sights on the video production and directing and he has managed to get to direct a Mwana F.A project and we have the pictures. Check them out below:

It has come to my attention that the video was infact directed by Kevin Bosco Jnr. The track was produced by Tapeli who incidentally is the brains behind “Patikana”. I apologize for the confusion this article may have caused.

If you thought Kenyans are done with Vera Sidika, You’re so wrong! Here’s the Latest

If there’s anyone who has been under the microscope of the public (Twitter and FB streets) is Vera Sidika.

Not only has her previous exploits elicited sharp reactions but her life in general is constantly under scrutiny from the KOT.

Her recent assertion that she bleached her skin for a whooping Ksh50 million, spent a further $3000 on her shoes with another hundreds of thousands on her hair, the entrepreneur and video vixen isn’t about to get off KOT’s hook.

Here’s the latest from KOT to Vera “with love”;

To All The Young Ladies Looking Up To Vera Sidika, Here’s Some Advice (PHOTO)

There has been a picture trending on these damn internets that seeks to give all lasses looking to Vera Sidika as a role model. Personally, I do not see why people are so busy tearing at Vera for doing whatever she feels makes her happy but you know how people get when it comes to discussing other people’s happiness.

But this is more of a troll than some judgmental people looking to ascribe their moral codes onto other people. And trust twitter to be responsible for this one:

Is Ole Lenku In The Illuminati? Kenyans On Twitter Seem To Think So (PHOTO)

Kenyans On Twitter are a funny group! They have decided to troll Ole Lenku to let out their feelings of frustration. I think it’s quite funny and I need people to let go of the high tensions that have been permeating the country’s atmosphere. This all about getting your 7 chuckles in.

And trust KOT to be getting their LOLs in at ole Lenku’s expense! These guys can be very witty indeed. Check out proof of ole Lenku’s links to the illuminati below:

NTV’s Nice Githinji Caught In Bed With Lenana Kariba And We Have The Photo

Nice Githinji is one of the lasses who have a shadow looming over them. The first time I heard about the lass, it was because of rumours doing the rounds. I quickly put paid to the nonsense when I joined Ghafla and learned to tell what’s what. And now onto fact. Nice Githinji was caught in bed in a compromising position with none other than Lenana Kariba.

And thing is, men lie, women lie, numbers don’t and neither do photographs. The photograph I got my mitts on should dispell any doubts about the headline. Disclaimer:

Kenyan Artistes warned on Doing Peace Songs at this Time

With tragic events taking place day in day out, Kenyan artistes are getting ideas of their next songs. However they’ve been warned.

Super producer Tedd Josiah, an experienced record producer who has worked with several artistes has given his wise counsel to artistes who are intending to release songs based on what’s going on.

He opines;

Tedd Josiah

“Before you artists go off writing a song of peace please put this into your thoughts.

Many Kenyans are feeling hopeless, they’ve lost a lot and are broken. A broken hopeless person cannot sing a song of peace cause they are disillusioned.

Sing a song of hope, a song to lift spirits up and give healing to broken hearts please.

To be one we must give EVERY KENYAN HOPE

Camp Mulla’s Tiri & Boyfie KusMa Turnt it Up in (Video)

For many artists performing at the MTV All Stars in South Africa would be the highlight of their career. For Tiri, it was not only a highlight but also her first time ever to perform on any sort of platform.

Contrary to what many expected, Tiri commanded the stage, took charge and left the audience screaming for more. She definitely left many pondering who she was. Tiri, a newly signed artist at SubSahara Entertainment, has definitely been the talk of the town. She came into the limelight just as Camp Mulla, her label mates announced their split up. Shappaman and Kus_Ma being the only ones left in the group, Tiri was put to the test and asked to accompany Camp Mulla to Kwazulu Natal for the MTV Base All Star where Camp Mulla was the act representing East Africa.

Amongst the songs they performed was “Chafua” which features Collo and has been on high rotation since their performance. For this19 year old, this is just a stepping stone for her career. Excited about her debut video that has just come out, Tiri hopes to leave a mark in the music industry similar to what her label mates, Camp Mulla have managed to do and hopes to inspire more young people to go for their dreams.

Willy Paul Gives Back to the Mathare Society He Grew Up in (PHOTOS)

When you look at Willy Paul, we imagine him with glamorous, perfect life. Even though he may have success, things didn’t always come so easy. He started life at the lowest rungs of poverty and crime only to later find fame and fortune through talent and hard work.

He’s best described by the catchphrase, “started from the bottom now we’re here”.

Despite his immense success in music (and life generally), Willy Paul hasn’t forgotten where he’s come from. Earlier this week, the “Kwa Vile” hit-maker went back to Mathare slums where he grew up to give back.

Making a stop at Mathare North Primary School, the young Gospel singer paid up fees for the whole year for a number of pupils that will see them attend classes uninterrupted.

Here are photos from that;

I Couldn’t Believe It Myself, But These Guys Are Inviting You To Have An Affair!

Kenya’s first Aftermath party was held a few weeks back, and if you missed it, pole kwako. It was the awesomest bash that weekend, without a doubt.

But not to worry, the party organisers DYCE are not stingy peoples. Finally Aftermath vol. 2 is out, due to the demand for a repeat of the event. They made

it happen again.

You know peeps have to keep it fresh with this party thing, so this time DYCE has decided to bring something totally different on A.M Vol.2. From the

success of Vol.1, this time round the thought of that night shall be left in your head for days, because what happens at the Aftermath stays at the

aftermath(if you know what I’m saying).

Aftermath was invented for the love of remembering all the good that happens in a club , we bring that night life to another level, a night where you will be heavy on that memory of what happened at the club.

BLUE VS BLACK AFFAIR is the theme of the event.
The event is all about that blue dress code verses the black dress code, one can mix the colours if they choose to, but the event is to bring out the two In

one kind of a feeling in the club, black and blue are colours that always compliment each other, and you can never go wrong with black or blue. To top it up

what you will experience in this event, from the music, the interactions, to the club its self , will be one atmosphere where you will be going home with

the “wanting” feeling of another vol. of the Aftermath, the Djs we have picked for this vol.2 of the AFTERMATH also add up to what will make you want more,

make you feel more than just a night out, make you wake up the next two days and feel like doing it all over again, hence this is the that event will leave

you with a feeling of “ I want another event like this of black vs blue affair” theme, hence the name “Aftermath”.

Choosing Skyluxx to host A.M vol.2 is to make this more than just an event, we have more planned for the night, from the random shots, to the random gifting

of the best ladies on behalf of explicit fashions, fresh music from Meta djs, what a way to make you remember that ill night it will be.

Explicit Fashions will be in the house to award the best dressed ladies in the house with high top fashion shoes of any kind all on behalf of dyce.

Nairobi’s Newest Newspaper Trumps Old Traditional Newspapers

The launch of Kenya’s first ever free, daily newspaper, X News, is bucking African media trends with a surge in circulation that has seen the new Nairobi evening newspaper emerge as the third largest newspaper in Kenya within just three months of its launch.

Launched on March 11th, XNews has already become the country’s third largest newspaper, by circulation, running only behind longstanding industry leaders Nation and Standard. The paper is now distributing over 25,000 copies a day, with an expected rise to 35,000 by the end of June, and 50,000 a day before year end.

By the end of 2014, XNews is set to be the second largest newspaper in Nairobi, running behind only Nation, which was launched in 1963.

The rapid rise of XNews has been driven by news mix that has departed radically from traditional Kenyan print content in tightly targeting Nairobi’s youth aged 19 to 40 years, which is the age set that forms the majority of the city’s population.

The country’s paid-for print publications have struggled to capture this city youth audience, which is predominantly well educated, opinionated and tech-savvy.

This has led to a steady decline in traditional print circulations. According to recent research from the African Media Barometer, national newspapers in Kenya have seen their circulation drop steadily in recent years, from around 800,000 copies a day a few years ago to a joint circulation of between 350,000 and 500,000 today.

The research reports that the country is facing a generation that is unwilling to pay for news, generating a growing need for local newspapers to cover issues that are pertinent and improve readers’ lives, as opposed to the political and event reportage that still consumes local daily pages. A recent Consumer Insight survey found that Kenyan youths’ interest in politics is negligible, and is, instead, firmly centred on lifestyle, tech, music, sports and relationship topics.

XNews has stepped into this gap with a fresh news mix that is inspiring, informative, credible and consumer-driven, giving little space to mainstream personality politics, and focusing on social issues and practical ways of improving readers’ wellbeing. The aim has been to bridge an information gap that sees the youth constantly searching for practical information and entertainment.

The new newspaper is distributed free across the city in the late afternoon and early evenings at key matatu and bus termini within the Nairobi Central Business District, targeted office buildings and along key major roundabouts and highways in the city. It is also circulated in parts of the Industrial Area, Westlands, Kilimani, and Upper Hill. XNews also distributes over 2,000 copies daily to the University of Nairobi (UoN), the largest university in the country, and will soon expand its circulation to other major universities such as the United States International University (USIU).

Meet Mirfat Musa’s Beautiful Mum .They Look Like Twins(Photo)

A wise man once said “A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity and when friends desert us.

When trouble thickens around us, she will still cling to us and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”.

And a large number of us can attest to this. Mirfat Musa recently introduced her mum to the world, her truest and her counselor.

Kenyan founder of BEFFTA Awards (distinctly special awards ceremony honouring the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the black and ethnic communities in the UK, USA, Africa, Caribbean, Canada and globally) Pauline Long is back with another first.

The entrepreneur, fashion designer, TV presenter and philanthropist was yesterday appointed as ambassador and face of the National UK campaign for Project Embrace – I. am. enough which promotes diversity.

Mafikizolo Rock Authentic Kenyan Fashion (Photos)

South Africa’s Mafikizolo  have mastered ‘the art of a comeback’.

The group which  had taken a hiatus from music made a MAD comeback ,swooping in and grabbing most of the awards thanks to their hit ‘Khona’. The hit   has been popular in radio but especially clubs due to its catchy tune despite it being a song about death.

The group has gotten the MAMA awards, the Metros and was even nominated for a BET award.
If you have watched their video’s ‘Happiness’ and “Tchelete (goodlife)” you have noticed that the duo sports a few Kenyan regalia such as the Maasai blanket  and one of those popular necklaces worn by unmarried Maasai women.

Meet the First Kenyan Rapper to Start a Foundation

Most Kenyan artists have had initiatives aimed in giving back to the society, but Holy Dave went the whole nine yards and founded The David Muthengi Foundation alongside his friends; Kelele Takatifu, Ken the Dj, Christ Cycoz  & Recapp. These Gospel artists chose to focus on Education, sighting that Education plays a direct role in reducing poverty and enhancing economic development.

With the Braeside School Community Service program they hosted a series of charity concerts raising support for purchasing special education learning materials for underprivileged students. The beneficiaries of the last two charity concerts were Thika School for the Blind and Dagoreti Special School.

Apart from partnering with like minded individuals and organizations on different charity causes the foundation raises support from well-wishers and manages the funds under the David Muthengi Foundation Trust Fund to pay school fees for underprivileged students, purchase learning materials for needy schools and to provide pocket money to disadvantaged students so that they can study comfortably. For more information visit http://www.davidmuthengi.com/ or contact Holy Dave on 0707966613 (business line)

Another Irrefutable Proof that Juliani Appeals to Everyone in the Society

If there’s one Kenyan artist who music cuts across all audiences (age notwithstanding) is Juliani.

And that’s why we were not surprised when the President of Supreme Court and head of Judiciary, Willy Mutunga attended Juliani’s listening party ahead of his new album launch.

Well, the new album, Exponential Potential, is out and unlike other artistes who grapple with poor album sales, it’s a smooth sail for the “Utawala” hit-maker, thanks to, again, his appeal.

Earlier this week, the country’s head of BBC was the latest prominent person to get a copy of Exponential Potential and flaunted it to the whole world. Check out;

He also appeals to cops with his likeable lyrics. This one for instance from Thika bought two albums;

The albums are available at Orange outlets countrywide at only Ksh500. For more info about his albums or any concerns SMS or call 0772916694.

KTN’s Mohammed Ali Open Letter to President Uhuru

After fateful events of Tana River, Baragoi, Westgate and most recently Mpeketoni, all in just under one year, KTN’s leading investigative reporter, Mohammed Ali has written to the President seeking answers.

He writes;

Rais,

Kwanza kabisa nauliza, “Uko wapi? Hatukuoni bwana Rais.”

Waswahili wanasema “Bata ata umlishe mawe bado atahara”. Bwana Rais, tumwamini nani?

Bwana Rais, wakenya wanalia; kuanzia Easatleigh, Baragoi hadi Mandera.

Nina machungu na mengi ya kukueleza lakini muda hauniruhusu. Kumbuka Kenya ni jina, nchi ni sisi.

Ni hayo tu kwa sasa.

Shukran.
