About two weeks ago, Nancy Nyambura, popularly known as Jastorina, took her last breath.

Jastorina was the comical house help on Citizen TV’s ‘Super Sato’ program “Jastorina”.
It was said that Jastorina has succumbed to meningitis, and a day later her mother sadly passed on after receiving the heartbreaking news of her daughter’s death.

Today, family and friends of Nancy are heading to Murang’a County, Njumbi Division Kagongo Village, the final resting place of Jastorina and her mum.

She is not only beautiful but creative too, Eve D’Souza has not only traversed the whole of Kenya but the entire world as well and she recently came up with an intriguing innovation.

The beauty queen has unveiled her new company; Moon Beam Production. The company (MoonBeam Productions) is a video production company specializing in production of quality Broadcast; TV and Radio Commercials, Features and Documentaries, TV Programs, Real Estate Video Production, 3D Animation, Web Videos and Company/Product Promotional Videos.

Having worked in the Media industry for years, it is the best idea she has come up as she has finally invested in her passion. From her days in Capital FM to now Travel Diary (a program in KTN which she co-host alongside Gaitano Kagwe) she has always given her ‘A’ game and success seem to be shadowing her along.

In mid June, a tragedy struck the Esther-Timberlake family. The tragedy was the loss of their 3 year old son who passed away after falling down the stairs. Approximately two months on, nothing has been heard from the Arunga-Timberlake forte, until now.

A woman by the name Rosemeg Wambitta who says she is Timberlake’s mom has come out to describe the anguish she is facing following the untimely death of her grandson.

The 57, year old admitted that though her and Quincy weren’t close, Sinclair’s demise brought untold grief to her what makes the situation worse is that communication with the family has been futile .Adding that if it wasn’t for Esther Arunga’s mother, she wouldn’t have even known of Sinclair’s death.

“I want to be with my son and his wife, Esther Arunga, during this difficult period but I can’t even send a direct message to him because I don’t have his contact details. He has not been communicating with me or his siblings,” she concludes.

She was shoved into the limelight at the Kiambu Rally thank to her derriere that had the entire nation go crazy over. But for Police Corporal Linda Okello, it was a nightmare having had to deal with her superiors.

But that’s water under the bridge now.

Linda receptly exchanged nuptials with her man and the father of her daughter, at the Attorney General’s chambers and later hosted a private reception for her close family members and friends, away from the public eye.

Among the many problems that face Kenyans are illicit brews that have claimed hundreds of lives over the years.

The National Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) has been  looking to change that, this will be through the weeding out of illicit brewers.

This exercise performed two months ago and each manufacturer was expected to provide a quality certificates but 21 alcohol manufactures presented fake quality licenses. Those that handed out the fake licenses will be sued by The National Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse ( NACADA)

We all know him for 9pm KTN prime business news, well he is no other than the flamboyant Bonny Tunya.

In an exclusive chat with a Ghafla writer, Bonny disclosed that he will be leaving KTN in two weeks’ time for yet another journalistic job with an international media. He said he will be Joining CNBC and will be spending most of his time working between Johannesburg South Africa and Nairobi. Bonny disclosed that the move was spurred by his career growth and not poaching as it may be deemed by other people.

KTN has lost senior news anchors lately and Bonny joins the like of James Smart who also left the Standard Media Group late last Month. He was eloquent and was quite handy in the success of KTN NewsDesk, a show which Bonny used to feature together with Edith Kimani. Well his face will be missed on the screen of the local media but we wish Bonny the best of luck as he seeks to further his career.

It is sad that Kenya is still at the point where when someone wants to seek medical expertise they have to resort to flying out of the country. That is the same case for Vitimbi actress Nyasuguta who flew out earlier in the week to seek medical attention.

The lass who plays the role of Nyasuguta, a village idiot, flew out a few hours ago to seek medical attention but not before communing with her faqns and supporters and well wishers asking them to pray for her so she may make a full recovery.

While the health issues plaguing her are still unclear, I do know that she was involved in a road accident a few short months ago although all indications suggested a full recovery. Anyway, this was her message to her fans;

Walter Mong’are is one of the pioneers of Kenya’s comedy scene. Together with Tony Njuguna and K.J, they formed Redykulas, Kenya’s first comic trio to inject professionalism into the art of being a comedian. But away from that, he has been in the headlines (atleast at Ghafla) for all the wrong reasons.

In it, I found information that Nyambane has been appointed by Dr Evans Kidero as Nairobi City County’s Communication Director, Governor’s Office. When they reached him for a comment, this is what he had to say,

“Yes, I am working for Kidero’s county and I am no longer in Kisii. I am back in the city and I am honoured to have been accorded such a platform to serve the people of Nairobi. The appointment came earlier in the year but I have been outside the country and that explains why only few people noticed,”

As you are probably aware,Size 8 celebrated her birthday on 4th August which is incidentally Obama’s and KTN’s Mohammed Ali’s birthday.

Last year,Size 8 went all out to ensure that her husband’s birthday was superb by throwing him  a surprise birthday party after he spent his day earlier with inmates at the Industrial Area Remand Prison and this year DJ Mo has returned the favor.By throwing not one but two surprise parties.

The advert shows the life of Walter who is caught off guard when it comes to major events such as dates ,his wedding, his graduation and even his own birthday. The major events are often met with a surprised look followed by an ‘Aih!’.

Vera Sidika is one of the most exciting lasses around. And with good reason. She is exactly what the doctor prescribed for the Kenyan entertainment scene; someone who is not afraid of being the talk of the time. She had her breasts augmented and that caused a stir in Kenya’s social circles because Kenyans are flat out hypocrites.

And even before that, there was the fact that she had bleached her skin (apologists describe it as skin toning) but let’s call a spade a spade and not a big spoon.

Tomorrow, Tuesday August 5th, AfriDocs presents Justin Webster’s movie Last White Man Standing, the Kenyan story of Tom Cholmondeley, heir to one of the largest estates in Kenya and the Lord Delamere title who was accused of the murder of black poacher, Robert Njoya, on his land.

Screened every Tuesday night on ED (DStv channel 190) and GOtv (channel 65), the AfriDocs stream will be seen in 49 countries by satellite, and terrestrially to an additional 100 cities in 8 countries. Cholmondeley’s murder trial began on 25 September 2006. On 7 May 2009, he was acquitted of murder, but found guilty of manslaughter. He was sentenced to serve 8 months in prison and was released on 23 October 2009.

The film shows how the trial unfolded through the eyes of Serah Njoya, the victim’s widow, Tom Cholmondeley, his girlfriend and family, and the witnesses and lawyers, friends and observers, and reaches conclusions about what happened on the fateful day, as well as what this means for Kenyans.

There has been a lot of grumbling especially from Kenyan actors who feel that Kenyan stations do not air local content, but M-Net has found a way of addressing their grievances.

This will be done through a Brand new East African channel launching on DStv that will air All East African content.The Channel will go by the name Maisha Magic and will be available daily on channel 161 on DStv Premium,Compact Plus and Compact subscribers.

Historia Films and Mo Moviez will soon be launching the DVD of the Kalasha winner for Best Script “House of Lungula”!

M-NET has launched a new East African focused TV brand Maisha Magic on DStv.

Maisha Magic will predominately be made up of East African content, though the channel will also include some international programming that have resonance with East African audiences, such as Latin American telenovelas, dubbed into English.

M-Net East Africa Regional Director Michael Ndetei said that the brand recognized and believed East Africa talent and stories were vital and as compelling as those found anywhere else in Africa as this can be proven by the success of East African content at the first two Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. He further stated that M-Net studio AfricaMagic Original Films was underway producing made-for-TV titles and a flagship show Mashariki Mix.

M-Net disclosed that programming on Maisha Magic channel will encompass multiple genres including sitcom, telenovelas, reality, drama and music,in addition Maisha Magic brand will also be entrenched on September 24^th when Africa Magic Swahili officially becomes Maisha Magic Swahili. Africa Magic Original Films initiatives which produced 56 movies in East Africa recently will be transformed into Maisha Magic Original Films initiative under whose banner a massive 60 more films will be produced before the end of 2014.
