Nairobi Hospice has announced that Bidanya Barassa, a former model as the new brand champion of the organization.
The Hospice saw the need to create awareness on palliative and hospice care to the public and Miss Bidanya fit the role as she is passionate about creating cancer awareness.
Nairobi Hospice is a non-profit organization that provides palliative care for patients living with life-limiting diseases like Cancer, HIV and Aids, and their families. Palliative care (pronounced pal-lee-uh-tiv) is specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses. It focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, and stresses of a serious illness—whatever the diagnosis. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.
As a cancer victoress, Bidanya fully understands what both the patient and their families/care givers go through. “I knew I was going to beat cancer, I had done a lot of reading and was determined to beat the disease. However, my family who were my main care givers were totally overwhelmed by everything that was going on”, said Bidanya as she met the Board of Directors of Nairobi Hospice.
“We need to correctly articulate what the Hospice is doing; that it’s not a place to come and die but it gives hope through personal care. We believe having Bidanya on board will help the hospice pass this important message across”, said Mr. Mugo wa Karanja, a board member of Nairobi Hospice.
Nairobi Hospice is the first institution of its kind in East Africa, slowly gaining recognition from the public and making strides in the improvement of palliative care. However, over 90% of the patients served cannot afford the already subsidized services and Nairobi Hospice serves them free. Every year, Nairobi Hospice has a series of events that seek to generate funds to facilitate its day to day running. Nairobi Hospice has also embarked on a mission to raise the budgeted Ksh. 1 billion required to complete the construction and furnish a comprehensive palliative care facility. The next scheduled event is the 14th edition of the Nairobi Hospice Annual Charity walk which will be held on 27th September, 2014 at the Hillcrest International School.

Extended wearing of tight cloth cause men to have twisted testicles which will prevent the spermatic cord from moving freely meaning it twists and leads to testicular torsion which cuts off the blood supply requiring immediate surgery to prevent testicles being infected which can cause a low sperm count which may result to infertility.

Last Thursday,Esther Arunga was charged for being an accessory to her son’s murder.This was by detectives from the Pine Rivers Child Protection and Investigation Unit.

This comes after her son Sinclair passed away after an alleged staircase fall. Unlike in Kenya, where this story would have been glanced at then trashed , the Australian law enforcers are thorough.

Today happens to be one of the greatest days on the life of Hero radio’s Deejay Lean; having achieved so much, Lean has more reasons of celebrating his birthday in style. The all happy Dj was very appreciative of his colleagues at Hero radio for playing a big role to the success of his career as and also for the golden chance the station had enabled him to impact on other people’s life.

It is common knowledge that Prezzo’s relationships with his women never end well.

I would say Octopizzo’s story is one of the most inspirational narratives that can actually convince anyone that they can raise to any level of success despite their background. Born in Kibera slums, the 26 years old rapper has defied all odds to raise to be one of the country’s millionaires. Are you a fan of American rapper Will-i-am? If you are then sure you would love to meet the African version of him; Emmanuel Jal just did it in such a way that will completely amaze you.
When I saw his latest video My Power; the first thing that struck my mind was the level of creativity in Jal’s video. The kind of robotic swag in this video can only be compared to Will-i-am’s or David Guetta’s science fiction video clips. I also noted that Will-i-am has a song called power featuring Justin Bieber and now Jal too has My Power song; could Will-i-am be the influential person that motivated Jal for his new song?

Grace admitted that she actually feels hurt using the rod but then again it is the only way she knows. If the rod is the only means that sends the message to the kids then she should sure use it, why not.

Fast rising female rapper, Sosuun, is taking care of her business end as she gets ready to take over the game in Kenya and beyond.
With the likes of Calif Records and Grandpa seeking her out Sosuun has signed up with talent master extrodinaire, Eric Mutabari of iScan Media, to manage her music career. Ericwas the talent manager at Jomino Entertainment in its ‘hey-days ‘and has repeatedly successfully launched some of Kenya’s current top musicians` careers.
“My aim is to focus on my music and my fans more moving forward,that’s why I have got a good team to manage my day-to-day business. This will enable me to give my fans what they want, quality music that they can relate to”says Sosuun.
Sosuun has made moves since her contract expired at Pacho Entertainment in early 2014. Her latest single, “Hitsong” , recorded at Jomino Studios has been making waves after its launch at Mdundo lounge in July 2014.
