Talk of people celebrating their birthday at the beginning of the month, Abel Mutua is one of those fortunate persons and he sure is full of appreciation.
I think it is probably the best week for anyone having a birthday around this time. At least one’s pocket is still loaded, the month’s pay can still be traced somewhere and a portion allocated for the birthday budget. Abel Mutua was or is celebrating his 28th birthday today and there is a reason why this one in particular is special to him.
The joyful Abel revealed that he has never had two birthday cakes before a fact that almost made him shade tears. Abel is thankful to all the people in his life and particularly his wife Judy and daughter Steph.
He describes his trip as an eye opener and a doorway for a bounty he could not have imagined his music career could get him to.
Octopizzo is surely ridding high with his music career and there is no doubt about that. “Since I came from Berlin, my pockets are full of money like a Bundesliga player” uttered Octopizzo when asked to describe his Berlin trip. Octopizzo even claimed that he prophesized his success coming; he claims that when he got to Germany, he felt he had already been there.
The rapper also disclosed that he has travelled a lot that he can no longer get difficulty in trying to acquire visa for any country that he wants to visit. His music has taken him places and Octopizzo affirmed that he will be back to Europe as he still wants to maximize on what his music can give him. After arrival,we realize that we are hungry. Very hungry.
Time to grab a bite.

Just on cue,I receive a call from my very sweet Nakuru friend, Grace. God Bless her.
Grace explains out Nakuru thoroughly to Me. For close to 30 minutes,am on the phone with Grace.
She tells me the BEST places to eat,tells me the BEST hotels to book a room,tells me that Club Rafikiz iko Kenyatta Avenue. And also tells me that Taidys iko “na hapo chini kidogo…”
Time to eat.
We land at a magnificent hotel called MERICA. I guess it was originally meant to be AMERICA. They must have been too lazy to include an ‘A’.

We leave for Rafikiz. After paying the humongous bill.
We arrive at Rafikiz. And meet hordes of people crowded around the entrance and all along the entry points. Cars were parked on either sides of the road leading into Rafikiz.
All manner of cars. And in them,there sat crowds of crowds of youths drinking and smoking and engaging in loud,incoherent talks.
Male and female. Our photographer,Tonnie grabs his camera and starts taking pics.
Almost instantly, someone hollers “Ghafla!!! Ghafla! Hawa ni wale wasee wa Ghafla…”
And with that,people start blocking us from taking their photos.
One guy remarks,”Msinipige picha! Msinipige! Sitaki kuitwa ratchet!”
He hollers as he hid behind a stationery car.
Undeterred,Tonny clicks the camera away. So does Vinnie,the other photography maven.
As we approached the ticket stand,we hear a loud VROOOM VROOOM from a Subaru behind us.
We look back.
Its a black Subaru. With Ugandan Number plates. In it,there is a dude. And what we shall call his girl.
As he vroom vrooms his way towards Rafikiz entrance,the crowds gathered nearby cheer and ululates animatedly.
He crushes hard on the engine. And spins the car around with an ample deal of swashbuckling bravado. The Girls cheer loudly. And clap too.
Tonnie is taking photos all through. And recording snap videos.
At the entrance,we say,”We are Ghafla….”
Originally,Ghafla weren’t meant to pay. Tunafaa tuingie bure.
Unfortunately,the glum soldiers at the gate DONT KNOW who the shit Ghafla is.
We tell him that we are allowed to go in FOR FREE by the Club’s Management.
Still,they don’t move.
“Ghafla ni tv gani iyo?? Lasima Mulipe…..”
To avoid nonsensical arguments,we pay the 500bob and walk in.
Inside,its a whole beehive of a cantankerous party. Rafikiz is blowing up. And its ONLY 10.20pm.
A Pulse photojournalist walks up to us. We exchange pleasantries and then he says,

At Nakumatt, we stay for close to an hour before a Police Officer,armed with a gun,walks over to us and politely asks us to leave. Hehe.

Activist Boniface Mwangi ultimately reveals his inspirational speech during the swearing in ceremony for advocates. He was the surprising guest at the occasion but his speech was one that if the rookies took into consideration surely the country’s judiciary will turn to win public trust.
Boniface reveals he wanted to become a journalist and a lawyer because former tells the truth and the latter defends the truth however he did not make it but still defend the people through his activism. He challenged the graduating advocate to make a change in the countries Judiciary as he referred to them as the clean river flowing into an already polluted system; to change a dirty river you need a clean tributary flowing into the river as the river could not be cleaned by emptying it.

What promised to be a night of fun and imbibing on copious amounts of alcohol for Risper Faith and her friends ended badly when the car they were in had an accident.
Luckily, they managed to escape with their lives with Risper suffering a broken leg and her companion escaping with a gash on his face.

The Machakos governor had an experience many only dream of because it is a luxury they cannot afford. A chopper ride is what I am talking about for that matter.
Is it surprising? It is a custom to see Kenyan politicians riding a chopper every now and then; people are used to seeing them on those expensive ride. But what is the irony in Mutua’s chopper ride? One can only imagine that since it is a tradition for politicians to take a chopper ride, they cannot be excited when it comes to that exclusive ride. Even so, Governor Mutua seems to be overwhelmingly happy about that spectacular ride a thing that even made one Robert Alai wonder. By the way Alai is the one who posted the video that Governor Mutua took while riding the chopper.

30th September is a day that Evelyn Wambui a reporter with Citizen TV will never forget. For this was the day she tied the knot with longtime beau Karuri Nyaga.

The month of July is one that Bongo star Hussein Machozi would like to forget quickly; when news started hitting the headline alleging the artiste was caught pants down with a wife of a Mombasa politician, many were left tongue-tied wondering exactly what had come of their adoring musician. The news quickly spread like a wild bush fire, so typical of any grapevine but the truth straight from the horse’s mouth has ultimately arrived.
In an interview with Bongo radio station-Clouds FM; Hussein claimed that he was in the hotel with the alleged lady to discuss a music deal as it is the norm of his in executing any deal. The lady apparently had issues with her husband; the husband walked in the hotel found the duo discussing their business and started causing chaos. Hussein stated that he did not at any time had any confrontation with the man and the rumored 24 hours ultimatum that was issued on him to leave Kenya was propaganda as well since he was still in the country.
