Tororo is a town in eastern Uganda not very far away from the Kenyan border posts of Busia and Malaba; the town has suddenly become a hotspot for Kenyans on twitter for a good reason.
Remember Kenyans searching for the lost presidential BMW or perhaps State House car? Well you do not need to search any more because the BMW has been found 454 km away from where it was allegedly stolen from. Tororo, Uganda is the place where the stolen car was found; this is the reason why twitter users in Kenyan are talking more about Tororo on social media.
The conversation is hot on Twitter as angry Kenyans are wondering how the car even managed to evade all the traffic police on the road and on the border to make the 6 hours journey to Tororo. Well the good news is that the car is found maybe they will be more careful next time so that no other car is taken from them.

Adelle has been chosen to represent the country in a UK base project dubbed “ INFLUENTIAL AFRICAN VOICES”. She is among 365 other influential Africans form across the continent who will be taking part in the project.
Adelle Onyango is the only Kenyan media personality chosen and this was due to her influence on African music. It follows that the topic awarded to her to present on is “The future of African music” and since she herself is a musician and also a media personality; she sure has the best experience to tackle the topic well.

BBA has been cancelled due to a fire. Here is the statement straight from M-NET:
M-Net and Endemol SA advise that due to a devastating fire at the Big Brother House on 2 September 2014, Big Brother Hotshots will not launch this Sunday(7 September) as scheduled.
The cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so. At this stage, M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production. However as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements, an alternative is not immediately available. Every effort will be made to find a solution as quickly as possible to ensure that Africa’s biggest reality show will continue.
Where is the BBA house?
It is based at the Sasani Studios in Johannesburg.
Was anyone injured in the fire?
No one was injured in the fire.

Chuchu’s new hit single is out! We(read I) have been waiting for this Gospel heartthrob’s song for a while, and I must say, the wait was worthwhile.
We were first introduced to Chuchu less than two years ago by Jimmy Gait & Holy Dave’s collabo for ‘Ole’ where she did the chorus part. Years later, this lass has made a brand for herself in the music industry, with song after song. Her last singles got massive airplay and a really great reception.
Just last week, Chuchu released her new Gospel Reggae jam featuring the talented Guardian Angel. I’m not a reggae fan myself, but for this song, I give it an exception. The tunes are really catchy; it’s not the kawaida Gospel songs we have been submerged into.

Candy n Candy Records had something exciting to offer revers who graced the rugby tournament over the past weekend and it sure made them smile big.
Having launched the Smile a Day Happy Nation initiative a week ago, Candy n Candy record took the initiative to Nakuru town where it was met my enthusiastic supporters who storm the erected tents in their thousands and registered their support. The registered rugby fanatics got the privilege of taking a photo with the celebrated artiste-Colonel Moustafa.
”I am happy to be part of this initiative, because as an artiste I cannot better my bread while my fans are not happy. Kenyans need to find a reason to Smile more and that is why I am here” uttered Moustafa. Atlanta based artiste Danny Kay was also present during the occasion and he too was full of praise to Candy n Candy CEO Joe Kariuki for his innovative initiative.
Joe Kariuki the founder of the initiative could not hide his excitement too stating that the initiative will continue doing more activities to create more awareness and asked more people to join. The Nakuru event collected over 10,000 signatures a move that has even motivated the initiative to launch similar campaigns in different towns across the country.

The initiative dubbed Turudini Mashuleni is seeking to have alumni plug in to their former schools to be the solution for problems facing the current students. The initiative aims at addressing issues like drug abuse, bullying and also to set up funds to support school projects and needy students. Simama Outreach Trust aims at more than just the one day outreach program as they also plan to start a life skill classroom sessions run by youth trainers.
The initiative will kick start their program on Friday 5th September at Kamkunji high school; all alumni who wish to participate or be part of the solution can visit the Faith Muturi’s website for more information.

I am pretty sure that you guys have heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge or have even participated in it. The Ice Bucket Challenge was started to raise money for research and treatment of ALS and spread awareness of the motor neurone disease.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS OR Lou Gehrig’s affects nerve cells in two of the most important parts of the human body; the brain and the spinal cord.
The disease which has affected Stephen Hawking, a feted English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author.

The illness is characterised by muscle weakness difficulty in swallowing speaking, paralysis and subsequently death. The disease currently affects 30,000 Americans and the number of Kenyans affected by this condition is unknown.
Kenyan such as Peter Kenneth, Susan Wong, Fareed Khimani, Larry Madowo and Kalekye Mumo have also joined the viral philanthropy campaign with Larry donating 50,000 shillings. But to the Beyond Zero Campaign because it is more applicable in Kenya.

As I was strolling round social media looking for stories as I usually do, I came across a photo shared by one Jamila Mbugua for Faraja on K24.She had shared a photo of KTN news anchors a while back. Before most of them jumped ship.
In the photo is a much slimmer Swaleh Mdoe, Catherine Kasavuli and her age-defying beauty (this woman never ages, true story!) and Waweru Njoroge.In the background is Jamila Mbugua in red.
The global gimmick is now taking Kenyans by storm and even politicians are not left behind; one time presidential aspirant agreed to take on the challenge.
There was Capital lifestyle’s Susan Wong, Kalekye Mumo, Larry Madowo, Bob Colleymore and now Peter Kenneth. These are among the many others (who I have not mentioned) who agreed on to take the Ice Bucket Challenge. The campaign is pushing on quite well in the country for a good course of cause.
The Kenyan version of the challenge seems to have a different objective unlike that of global Ice Bucket Challenge on which emphasis was based on awareness and raising funds for ALS. From the looks of things; the in Kenyan version of the challenge, each participant seem to choose the charity of their own choice of which they prefer to donate to.
Both Larry and Peter decided to donate their contributions to First Lady’s Beyond Zero campaign. Kenneth nominated his former running mate Ronnie Osumba, KCB CEO Joshua Oigara and Anjay Patel to take on the challenge. Anyway their effort is geared towards a good course and it is so good of them to unite and see their contribution going to make a positive impact on the lives of other people.

Petite, Pretty and Philanthropic .Three words that can describe one of the most beautiful people to ever grace our TV screens, Brenda Wairimu.
She is the genius behind a massively popular photo campaign launched in 2013, which portrayed the lives of the average Kenyan in their quest to earn a living. Brenda then auctioned off the photos to raise funds for ‘Cool 4 Skool’ sanitary projects in girls’ schools.

All proceeds from the auction were used in distribution of sanitary towels to girls in rural schools (‘Cool 4 Skool’) an initiative she started 2 yrs ago during her school visits with Computers for Growth foundation where is she is the Brand Ambassador.

It came as a shock as South Africans voted Kenya as the country with the ugliest people in Africa last weekend. 
An article that appeared on the Pretorian bird, entertainment section claims Kenya has the funniest looking president on earth, and a VP with a strange looking head. It goes on to say that Kikuyu women and Luo men pose the most weird features.
“Women from the Kikuyu community have small legs, totally no figures, and a little exeggerated heads. They lack good behinds and those who have them look like inflated baloons.They are shaped like pyramids turned upside down.A big upper frame and an almost inviscible lower bit.
Luo men on the other side have distorted facial features..say big lips and huge noses or should we call them knobs. Kikuyu men are also unproportional, and most of them are stunted. They walk leaning foward. Plus they have long rusty teeth.”
“Those from Kisii Districts are small people, the average Kenyan man will stop growing at 5’2″…5’4″ tops. Kisii men have mango shaped heads, and bowed legs, a feature also common in in their Luhya counterparts.”
He goes on to describe Kaleos as “Funny little pitch black emaciated fellows, raking in millions from the track. However long they’ll remain in Europe, their features never improve”. “Nandis will have rounded foreheads, and thin, long arms”. Politicians are the kind of people you will find hard to understand; the outspoken Julie Gichuru has come under attack from political bullies and the reason for the offensive will even amuse you.
The media always try to be impartial in their reporting even so, it still gets to be attacked by forces which perceive it as a threat to their very existence. Sunday the 31st on Citizen TV’s Sunday Live, the TV station featured a story about the plight of women in Awasi, Kisumu country. The women were being exploited for sex in exchange for water supply and in case they resisted they were being raped by alleged water vendors. The featuring of this story on Julie’s Sunday Live show was the genesis of her attacks by deceitful political forces.
The political forces are taking a tribal angle to launch attacks on Julie even ignoring the fact that the feature story depicted first-hand account of witnesses narrating their escapades as they try to fetch water. This is a clear revelation of how manipulative some politicians can get; they fail their electorate then when the media illuminate on their failures they quickly turn the whole situation to appear as if the media is launching attack on their tribe.
The media is the mirror of the society and it does not play tribal politics so according to me, any entity that threats any individual or the media for a good course should not be tolerated at all. Julie should keep on doing her great work without the fear of intimidation from any quarter. That is just my opinion, what do you think of that whole situation?
About ten years ago, Coca-Cola launched a competition dubbed ‘Coca-Cola Popstars’.
This competition aimed at scouting for the greatest talents from Kenya Uganda and Tanzania. In the end they came up with three groups, Sema from Kenya, Wakilisha from Tanzania and Blu 3 from Uganda. Out of these three groups,the members of Blu 3 are still enjoying a lucrative musical career , a decade later.
They enjoy working a s a group but also fly solo from time to time. The other members of Blu 3, Cindy Sanyu and Jackie Chandiru have been in the country for Coke Studio Africa and now Lillian Mbabazi is in the country for Africa’s largest musical show.

When news hit the headline in the country about the death of controversial couple Quincy Timberlake and his wife Esther Arunga, many could not stop but wonder how their three years old son fell from the stairs and died.
Australian detective have come to a conclusion on their investigation into the death of Sinclair Timberlake the son to Quincy and Esther. The police affirmed that Sinclair had major internal injuries that could not have been caused by the fall the parents were claiming to. The boy died on 18th June this year in Kallagur Brisbane.
The couple has been hit by a series of controversies starting with alleged involvement in a cult- the finger of god to now Quincy’s being charged with murder. According to Australia’s online publication- the Courier Mail; details are also emerging that Quincy had sought for political asylum in Australia claiming that he was arrested and tortured by Kenyan authority while in custody.
