Chipukeezy and Jay A Party With Jamaican Diva Tiana (Photos+video)

Jamaicans are well known for their crazy parties and having known this, rapper Jay A and radio presenter/comedian Chipukeezy were glad to party with Jamaican beauty Tiana.

If you thought Love Child Wyre is the only Kenyan celebrity having connections with Jamaican beauties (am basically referring to Alaine and Cecile), then you are totally wrong, Jay A also knows at least one Jamaican top singer she could hang out with.

The rapper invited Chipukeezy in a party he was having with the beautiful Jamaican Singer Tiana and lucky all the scenes were captured in the video called “Don’t Stop”. Oh my! The whole party thing was just a new video Jay A has dropped featuring Jamaican Tiana, Chipukeezy was only featured in the video. Check out the video here:

Fake Pastors In Possesion Of A 9 Foot Python Nearly Lynched By A Mob

Kenyans are now wary of fake men of God ever since Pastor Kanyari was caught pants down. And these two prophets in Rong’e Juu, Mwatate have picked a worse time to be prophets and perform miracles!

Over the weekend, two pastors were nearly lynched by an angry mob who found them with a 9-foot python stuffed in a bag and other animal trophies.

It is said that the two used the animal trophies to perform ‘Miracles’ and ‘exorcise demons’. And the residents were angry that the two had conned money amounting to millions off gullible Christians in the name of miracles.
The devious duo consisted of Daudi Kafuta and ‘Prophet Ibrahim ’, and they would have been toast if Administrative police had not intervened. Ibrahim however managed to flee arrest.

Kafuta who heads the Pentecostal World Mission Outreach Church at Werugha in Wundanyi claimed that he had no knowledge that his fellow pastor had a snake.

Parents are the happiest people when they see their children grow healthy and turn on years happily. This perhaps is because of the love the parents have for their children, love that is only surpassed by God’s.

Radio Jambo presenter George Waka is one such happy parent after seeing his young daughter turn five years.

The sports commentator was quick to share his joy on facebook where he flaunted a photo of himself holding his daughter, with a nice caption alongside the photo.

The child may not be aware of this but the parents are the ones enjoying the fruits of their labour.

Song after another, the two hip hop singers who are believed not to see each other eye to eye are at it almost every minute, to outdo and probably outshine each, to take the crown as the most established rapper in the hip hop industry in Kenya.

Arguments are already rife in the air over who between Octopizzo and Khaligraph Jones is the best rapper in Kenya.

After Octopizzo released his latest video, Something For You, which is already receiving massive airplay, his closest rival in the hip hop industry, Khaligraph Jones has released a teaser of his track that is in the kitchen cooking.

The track dubbed ‘Come Dada’ is sure an enthralling one but we have to hold a bit longer to hear fully from it.

Here is the teaser:

Did You Know That Lulu Hassan Was An Actress?

Lulu Hassan is recognized by many as the eloquent silver-tongued Swahili News Anchor o Kenya’s number one TV Station, Citizen TV.

As I was hanging out on the You Tube corridors I came across a clip named ‘Independent Woman’ .After viewing a few minutes of the clip, guess who I bumped into? Lulu Hassan.
Back then she referred to herself as Khadija Hassan. The premise of Independent woman is ‘three ladies facing obstacles in life together in one apartment.’

{youtube}hT_AbBYcOPg{/youtube}

The clip is dated 2008, but I have a feeling it is much older, judging from the outfits and video quality. Back then, Lulu ,I mean Khadija was a member of the Mombasa-based Kizingo Arts Troupe.

Robert Alai Just Undressed Esther Passaris!!

Robert Alai is not exactly a darling for the masses, he feeds off negativity, controversy and is a sadist to the core. He commands a following of his kind, where he feeds them off morsels of hate, pain, hate , pain, repeat…. you get the picture.

Robert Alai operates with the sheer dare-devilry of a grumpy old man, today alone he has hurled endless uspeakables at Esther Passaris for questioning his morals. 1441351_1497656583845815_5825284001721473137_n.jpg

Esther Passaris tweet initiated a charade of insults from Robert Alai who went on to insult her badly while trashing her name.

Yes, Slut Shaming Is The Way To Go! Irari Ngugi, Cabu Gah and Co. This Should Sink Into Your Heads

At last that video that elicited mixed reactions in Ghafla offices and the republic at large is going viral and now almost everybody is at it. Kanyari aside, Munroe aside, Betty Bayo aside. We are now at it. I am talking of the unmannerly dressed lady who faced the wrath of morally upright touts who in one way or the other want to retain and maintain the values that were instilled in us. I am talking of that undressing.

Well, my editor and writer at Ghafla Kenya came up with this piece yesterday, https://www.ghafla.co.ke/news/tv/item/26396-slut-shaming-in-the-21st-century-no-no-edward-chweya, where he threw tantrums at me and rebuked me for supporting what he termed as primitive executions and bad showings from the touts.

He is, however, not the first one to be on my neck. My workmates at Ghafla Kenya, led by fellow writer Sue Watiri, flanked by renowned writer and blogger, Cabu Gah, who also adds up as the president of the Caburians, and a crowd of other Ghafla employees almost blew me up with their noise (not concrete argument remember). Precisely, one of them took it too personal, dismissed me and vomited her venom on me and disowned me as a primitive bloke with retarded thinking and my best place belonged in the village.

Well, in the village I may belong but here are guys starting a war they are likely to shamefully lose, regret why they started it and that will probably cost their faces.

Before you dismiss my article as pure shit, etcetera or whatever you may call it, I accept to remain primitive until all scantily dressed people have been undressed and left to expose their nudity.

undress3

Ghafla offices wondered if indeed I had gone through the 8-4-4 system. Cabu Gah went on to say I am diabolical, primitive and shagmodoz. So did Sue, Phil and Irari. I went to my dictionary to look for shagmodoz but I could not find it. So it had little effect on me because I did not know its meaning.

I was told I had a mind of a tout. Like touts have no ability to think beyond their noses. Whether they do or not, I am ready to belong to them.

You see, these are the most reasonable guys we have around. A writer like me, an officer worker, a journalist, a pilot, a teacher or Kanyari (he undressed a congregant and exposed her breasts in the glare of cameras and believers) would undress a scantily dressed slut in the streets of any town or village in Kenya if they had a chance to. It is only that all these people are not exposed to these ladies like our dear touts are.

undress2

Irari and Cabu Gah will be sexually aroused if they were exposed to scantily dressed ladies consistently. Unless they are blunt, I mean their minds are corrupted by some malfunctions, or their guns are damaged, these guys are just pretenders. They will react.

You will be quick to dismiss me that to be aroused sexually, you must couch your mind to that. Well, how true that is is a topic for tomorrow but one thing I have learnt over time is that a man is a man, I mean a normal man is a normal man.

That is not the point here. I believe the Embassava station touts were not led by their sexual desires to help the almost nude lady get totally nude.

We are in a society that highly upholds morals and values. This again, Irari, Sue and Cabu Gah call it Western brainwashing. I am ready, again, to remain brainwashed and colonized if that is how I sound.

When I support touts undressing a skimpily dressed lady, you call it Westernization. When you spend colossal sums of money to get what the Caucasians brought to us, like Western education that is not colonialism. Is Ok, isorait.

undress1

When you awash Ghafla sites with the queen’s language, when you go for funny hairstyles, when you go for funny fashions in general, fashions that you know are not African, you don’t see that as brainwashing. Is Ok, isorait.

When you use Turkana mothers and dads and children as your examples to justify your skimpy dressing without necessarily considering the fact these people are languishing in abject poverty and cannot afford basic needs like food, shelter and CLOTHING because of our poor regimes, you still don’t see that as colonialism in disguise.

Have you ever wondered why well-off Turkanas like MPS don’t dress in what you call their traditional attires? Why have they embraced the so called Western mode of dressing which you so disregard?

If you call my argument as being brainwashed, then all of us are brainwashed. Why are you not in that skin, thong and whatever you claim is African? Why are you in neat jeans, good suits, hoods, trench coats, etc and not in the traditional attire that our great grandparents donned?

Well I could go on and on with endless questions but back to the main topic. The lady who faced the wrath of morally upright touts wanted to remain nude. What justification do you have for her dressing from her house that way? Why do you think she wanted to expose her legs, not just legs, her thighs and probably her pubic hair? Why?

Why would you rage when you see people help her be what she wanted to be? Fast and furious!. As Robert Alai says, when you want to remain nude, the public is there to help you.

Why would you find it difficult to remain nude in your privacy? Why would you want to walk in public like you are in your bedroom? What is the motive behind dressing skimpily in public, if not to provoke, not just men but everybody?

Some are asking why men have never been undressed. Is that supposed to be men’s problem? If you ladies don’t see any reason to undress a skimpily dressed man, it is none of our business. There are times we have seen women undress their fellow women for dressing scantily. Well, no woman was up in arms to yell at that act.

undress

Again, I have never stumbled upon a man skimpily dressed. May be it is because I belong to the village. You see in the village men and women don’t dress skimpily. I have stumbled upon a dirty man before, but not a scantily dressed man. Dirty men are washed in public. No woman yells at that. No man yells at that. Not Irari Ngugi, not Cabu Gah.

Here they are now, hypocrisy ripe in their eyes, mouths and minds. What is the difference between undressing a skimpily dressed slut and heartbreaking a million hearts of loving women? The difference, if at all there is, is the same.

Cabu Gah went on to say I am bitter because I probably don’t get any female attention. Well, without looking like I want to drag the lady into this conversation, Cabu Gah is lucky I have not stumbled upon his girlfriend. We could be talking something else by now. Haha!

Even if I were thrust into the village, I would still write from there and warn ladies who want to walk nude. We will help you walk nude. That is what we know best.

Robert Alai can vividly tell you that scanty dressing is a taboo in Kenya. Anybody can undress anyone dressed to erode morals, to provoke and to arouse. Cleavages, thighs and butts are provocative. Expose you waists, your faces, your legs, nails hands and hair. Leave cleavages, thighs and butts for the bedroom.

Irari, Cabu Gah, Sue, Phil and fellow ‘activists’ are yet to convince me. I am still the village boy, causing havoc along Moi Avenue, advocating for more stripping, for more undressing and for more ‘sexual harassment’ if that is what the Embassava bus station saga means to you.

Robert Alai ,Supporting Sexual Harassment? You Have Crossed The Line!

Robert Alai and I do not see eye to eye on a lot of things. Honestly I think he is abrasive, opinionated and a bully. But I respect his opinion (no matter how skewed) or  rather his investigative prowess.

I must say however, the comments he made on social media defending the touts who stripped the woman naked really pissed me off, made me blow a gasket and drove me up 2 walls. There are not enough wall slides and face palms to demonstrate how disappointed I was in you. What utter hogwash!!!

alai

Sexual harassment should never be right regardless of how someone dresses. And guess who was of the same opinion? My fellow colleague Edward Chweya, who I had great respect for.

Robert Alai and my fellow Ghafla writer Chweya represent a bunch of educated people who have refused to evolve and it seems no amount of books can save them. It’s unfortunate that they still hold the same primordial opinion as those uneducated Embassava touts.  For most of these men, stripping a woman is just something they do and go on with their lives unaware of the psychological effects this habit has on a woman. Forget the initial embarrassment; you can maim someone’s esteem for what you consider is a way of ‘correcting a habit’ or ‘teaching a lesson’. Or in some extreme cases you stripping that woman could be the final nail to that woman’s coffin and she could just kill herself. Maybe she has been going through some hardship and that animalistic act will make her go like ‘Screw it. I’m done’ and she kills herself.
Maybe some of you do not understand just how terrible sexual harassment feels. Something as disrespectful as an unwanted spank on your behind along Tom Mboya Street or any street or anywhere for that matter can trigger feelings of being downgraded. And feeling cheap is not the best feeling in the world.

According to a 2013 global review, 35 per cent of women worldwide have sexual harassment which constitutes of sexual violence. If the spanking on the streets are put into consideration then the number increases to a staggering level. We are 3 women in the office and all of us have experienced some form of sexual harassment, whether inform of spanking or lewd comments as we walk by.

You blame their items of clothing, calling them ‘provocative’ and ‘inappropriate’. That is no excuse as we have heard tales of women walk around in a floor-length gown and get raped, or even a 2 year old get raped by a man with two wives. How is a 2 year old sexually provocative?

Or that Indian woman, who was just sitting in her house minding her business, when villagers broke into her house, stripped her, strapped her to a donkey and paraded her on the streets. Bear in mind that this is a 45 year old woman, old enough to be my mum and these people embarrassed her because they suspected that she had killed someone. What has this got to do with them sexually harassing her? Don’t we have the rule of Law to observe? Or is it a Kangaroo Court when it comes to women? Guilty before trial.

Robert you are a trend setter. You are not just anybody behind a screen, trying to look cool and attempting to impress people who really do not care by spewing a tirade of insults and skewed opinions. People listen to you and hang by your every word. You should know better than post such things.

Is Boniface Mwangi Planning to Drop Uncollected Garbage at Kidero’s Muthaiga Home? See Details

Boniface Mwangi the activist who has retired a number of times and came back to active duty has long have beef with Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero and this time round he is planning something nasty.

If you don’t know Boniface Mwangi well, then you will probably think he is a total wacko or having a loose bolt upstairs, but neither of the two is true, he is only a Rights Activist who is prepared to go to all depths in pursuit of what he terms justice for the mass.

Boniface issued a warning threatening to storm Kidero’s Muthaiga residence and drop all the uncollected garbage in the city there. This may sound like a crazy joke but then again Boniface has proved to stand by his words a couple of times, remember when he stormed Parliament with pigs and blood and wreaked havoc? Kidero better treat Boniface’s threat with all the seriousness that is required less he wants a dump site on his gate.

bonif1

But why is he furious with Kidero? Boniface claims the Nairobi Governor has nothing to show for the 18 Months he has been in office, he claims Nairobi is still a dark, dirty, polluted, crime ridden city.

While You Are Busy Ranting At Daily Nation’s NJOKI CHEGE, This Is What Dennis Itumbi And State House Are Planning For Her

Kenya has been awash with news of one lady called Njoki Chege. Well, if you have not heard of her or what she has done, with all due respect, you need to get out of the jungle and start living with fellow human beings.

But I can still help you understand who she is and what she has done.

Njoki Chege is a columnist with the Daily Nation. She is a blogger too. She is controversial to say the least. She loves rocking horns with the masses.

Well, all that is relative. It depends on how you understand her. While to some she makes a lot of sense, to others she is a noise-maker, clueless and a hater to say the least.

She recently wrote an article in the Daily nation, bashing all middle-class men. Men with i-phones and with blue Subaru imprezzas. She simply said she would rather die than marry such men.

However, as men and women raged with anger over the article, the head of digital communication in the office of the President, blogger Dennis Itumbi, leaped to her defence and promised to hold her to her blog stance.

Itumbi says that he is utterly impressed by Njoki Chege’s article and that she has proved that there is a place for blogs in Kenya and beyond.

This is what Itumbi said:

itumbi 3

However, there are those still not impressed by Itumbi’s defense of Njoki Chege. Well, this is the lot that is still writhing with anger over the lady’s article.

Robert Alai Jumps To The Defence Of Touts Who Undressed Woman In Nairobi

Almost everybody has been cursing the touts who undressed a woman who appeared semi-naked at the Embassava bus station in Nairobi, terming it an uncalled for, pathetic and unfortunate behaviour in this 21st century. My work station almost burst into blows when a heated argument arose amongst us, with some of my employs taking it too personal when I differed with them.

Well, Robert Alai, one of the most controversial bloggers Kenya has ever produced, has jumped to the defence of the touts who undressed this woman after deeming her dressing as being almost nude.

Alai has saluted them for helping someone who wanted to walk naked but could not find a way to do so and warned that if anyone wants to remain nude, they can be helped to be nude.

As controversial as Alai is, some will dismiss his judgements and tell him off outright but his mind is as clear as that of the lady who was undressed at Embassava bus station.

As condemnations come from all angles, it is time we thought about our values. This goes to both the touts and the lady who was undressed.

This is what Alai had to say:

Sauti Sol To Perform In Paris, France

The quartet is still going places after that famous run in the MTVEMA awards where they won the Best Africa Act category but narrowly missed the Best Worldwide Act award.

The Sura Yako hit makers have continued to impress not only in Kenya but also in Africa and beyond.

This explains why the foursome has landed a deal to have a show in Paris, France in the next two weeks.

This is the first time Sauti Sol are travelling to the European nation to have a performance since their run in the MTVEMA awards.

Sauti Sol revealed this in their instagram account. This is what they posted:

Size 8 Goes Worship

The former secular singer who plunged into gospel singing is at it again, this time round away from what we are used to hear from her.

Size 8 has this time round done a worship song in English.

The songbird is well known for her praise songs like Mateke and others but she has opted to drag fans away from what they are used to.

Her new song, Send Forth, is a song accompanied by a lyrical video that is done in English and which size 8 describes as:

“A call to God to lead his people to His presence where they can go and praise, worship and just enjoy his presence. The words come from the book of Psalms 43:3&4. As you listen to the song, i pray that God will lead you to his presence.”

However, Size 8 opted to do a lyrical video for the song. Reasons for this are not clear.

Here is the lyrical video for the song:

Which Is Your Favorite Sauti Sol Song?

Yesterday, we had a fiery debate in the office that led to some of our music tastes being dismissed.

A debate which we argued about which Sauti Sol song was the hottest. Two of my colleagues felt that ‘Lazizi’ was the best one while I felt that no Sauti Sol song could surpass ’Still the one’. That song is just THE ONE.

More and more of my colleagues joined in the conversation and since we could not agree on which Sauti Sol song was the best, we decided to do a poll.

Help us solve this debate once and for all. Which Sauti Sol song is the best?

Larry Madowo Jumps To The Defence Of Betty Bayo And Sabina Stadler

In his column on the Daily Nation, the NTV presenter normally expresses his mind, highlighting the things that we should and should not talk about, giving an insight to what we know or we do not know.

This time round in his article titled Betty Bayo and Death of Privacy, Larry is wondering why Betty Bayo is being roasted on social media and yet somebody else messed everything up.

As a recap for those who may not be knowing, Betty Bayo is wife to rogue preacher Pastor Kanyari, who was recently exposed by KTN where he was caught on camera faking testimonies to get money from unknowing believers.

la

Since then, Betty Bayo, a gospel musician herself, has received all kinds of ridicule while very few people showed support for her.

This perhaps is the reason why Larry Madowo has come up with an article defending her against the crucifixion she is facing.

Larry Madowo has also jumped to the defence of BBA evictee Sabina Stadler, after she was criticised for abandoning her six-month old child for fame in South Africa.

Larry has hosted both ladies before in is show, The Trend, where they tried defending themselves.

At Last Instagram Gets Crucial Improvements

Social sites are taking over the world with much speed and precision, ruling and giving other forms of communication a really run-in for their money.

However, major features in these social sites make them either users’ darling or thrash.

Instagram, for a while has been one social site with difficulties especially when it comes to uploading photos and adding captions on them.

Initially, captions on instagram could not be edited; meaning that if an error occurred while captioning a photo, there is no way one could get rid of the error.

For a while instagram users have complained over this weakness in instagram, and it seems the instagram developers have finally heard their cry and made this major improvement.

instagram

Now instagram users can be able to edit captions in the photos they upload in instagram.

The new update on iOS and Androids will enable users to edit captions and add location after posting a photo.

What you need to do if you are an instagram user is to update the app and the editing button will appear below the photo you have uploaded.

She also styles the presenter of entertainment show “Mashariki Mix” on Africa Magic (MNet) and MTVEMA’s ‘Best African Act’, Sauti Sol. She also participated in and won the Deacons Style Challenge, a styling competition that pitted 7 of Kenya’s finest Stylists against each other.

Sauti Sol Become Education Ambassadors

The group of four has been in the headlines in the recent past for their exploits in the music industry which saw them get numerous nominations and win some big awards like the MTVEMA Best African Act award.

This saw them also get invitations to State House by the head of government himself, President Uhuru Kenyatta, where they performed during his birthday and also entertained the United Nations Secretary Genaral, Ban Ki Moon, who visited Kenya recently.

And now Sauti Sol have been bestowed with yet another task. This time not related to music but to education.

The group of four will be education ambassadors as they revealed in their instagram account.

Sauti Sol have done a number of songs, among them about education, where they encouraged pupils and students to work hard and excel academically.

This perhaps is the reason why the singing quartet has landed the deal to be education ambassadors.

This is what Sauti Sol posted in their instagram account:

Unbelievable Photos Of Amani Back When She Was Ratchet

At the beginning of the millennium, a sexy songbird teetered into the limelight, her name Amani.

Within a short time she was able to drop one hit after another and soon her name was at the top of the charts.
She grew musically producing hits like Talk to you, Tamani, Missing my baby, tonight and her latest Unanitosha.
But apparently she did not only grow musically but fashion wise too. I came across a photo of Amani looking mighty ratchet wearing what I will assume is a headscarf, a satin blouse, thick belt and a short skirt.

This outfit was definitely a disaster but I hope Amani can look at these photo and laugh at how far she has come…fashion wise.

Jaguar Visits Emmy Kosgei And Her Husband in Nigeria (Photos)

Jaguar flew to the West African nation of Nigeria to check on our girl Emmy Kosgei.

It has been a while since we last heard from Emmy Kosgei and One Centimeter hit maker decided it was good if he would personally check on Emmy in the far west side of the continent. Isn’t it so good of Jaguar to look out for a sister in a far away country?

emmy k4x

In a move that can be perceive to assert Kenyans Emmy was fine and kicking, Jaguar uploaded a picture that was shot when he was with Emmy and her husband.

See Jaguar was even accompanied by Mongolo when he went to check on Emmy, so good of him.

Popular Kenyan Celebs Who Disappeared Without A Trace. Part 2 (Photos)

This is the second part of a list of celebrities who came, who saw, conquered and disappeared. You can check out part one  here:

6. Yolanda Mulwa

She was feisty, she had attitude and maybe a little vulgar. She ruled Hot 96 and treated listeners to quite the mouthful of bawdy language. She stole hearts but unfortunately made a speedy exit from the industry in 2008.

yolanda.jpg

She was rumored to make a comeback, but 4 years on and no one has seen Yolanda Mulwa.

7. Vinnie Banton

vinnie.jpg

Photo:kamilimusic.com

Last I heard of Vinnie Banton, he was singing about ‘kutoka Githurai’. It’s been almost a decade now and Vinnie is still miles behind those he started out with.

8. Vipul Doggy Dogg

Vipul was THE GUY and also possibly the loudest and most unapologetic voice on radio. He was part of the crew that made 105.5 X F.M what it is.
The last we heard of him, he had gotten married to beautiful lass. I guess marriage life has kept him busy because he has been notably missing in action.

9. Marya

MARYA_2.jpg

Marya was possibly the hottest chic around especially in the period between 2008 and 2011, then she fell off the wagon after her break up with Mustapha. Her career seemed to have taken a hit too and the last we heard of her musically was when she produced ‘Sishiki Simu’
A song that led to a bitter tweef ensuing between her and the feisty Huddah Monroe. Not much has been heard of Marya since then. She crawls from the woodworks from time to time on Instagram but her musical career has stagnated.

10: Shiko Kaitanny

shiko_kaianny.jpg

Shiko started off her media career in 2006. She started off as a producer and part time presenter at Kameme FM but her moment to shine was in the ‘Tazama Citizen,Tazama Chapaa’ competition on Citizen TV. She was a host alongside Waihiga Mwaura who now enjoys a successful career on Citizen TV.
Maina Kageni spotted her and hooked her up with a job in Classic F.M which she lost. It is alleged that Shiko was fired for being too sassy and entitled.
Not much has been heard from Shiko since then and many of her fans are wondering what happened to her.

From Head of House To Evictions. East African on the Frying Pan #BBAHotshots

East African only remaining male in BBA Hotshots is on the verge of elimination as he made it to the eviction list after being nominated several times by his fellow housemates.

Unless African viewers save him, Tanzanian representative Idris is facing eviction from BBA hotshots; Idris is the only remaining male housemate from East Africa in the house and in case he is evicted from BBA this coming Sunday, Uganda’s Ellah will be the only remaining East African representative in BBA Hotshots.

idris tanzania bba

Last week Idris avoided elimination when he emerged as the head of house; his fellow housemate didn’t like his regime and when his group lost the extravaganza challenge, it was payback time for the housemates. He was nominated a couple of times to earn a spot on the eviction list and unless he is saved by African viewers, Idris will be going home.

Popular Kenyan Celebs Who Disappeared Without A Trace. Part 1 (Photos)

The entertainment industry is an unpredictable industry at one time you are at the top of your game getting all the hottest gigs and making mad cash, then you just fall off the face of the earth and are forgotten.

Below is a list of celebrities who enjoyed great publicity but at some point some fell off the wagon while others retired and were never heard of again. Or if there are spoken of, it’s just in a passing conversation.

1. Charity Kimani-KTN

charity_cover.jpg

If you go around and ask if people if they  know who Charity Kimani is ,most people will ask you, Charity Who?
And you have to go like ‘That KTN chic who looks like Lillian Muli’ for people to remember her.
She has a budding career in showbiz but after getting fired from KTN, few remember her.

2. Muthoni Bwika

bwika.jpg

Back in her ‘Hey Days’ Muthoni was considered the only competition for Caroline Mutoko in the Radio Queen category. So potent was she, that even legendary Musician E-Sir acknowledged her game in one of his tracks saying that. ..rap bila mimi ni kama kiss bila Muthoni Bwika.
About a decade on, Muthoni is no longer around and all we have is fond memories.

3. Flexx

flex.jpg

The last I heard of Flexx he was singing that ‘Nyundo’ song that was loaded with heavy sexual innuendos and asking f a girl’s number. He was among the biggest artistes in Calif records but no one gets to hear of the Calif Legend anymore.

4. Fresh Freddy

Remember Fresh Freddy? The guy that made girls drool lustfully and keel over in the Close Up Advert. Whatever happened to him? This industry is fickle I tell you!

5. Namtero Mdee a.ka. Tero

terro.jpg

I think hers story is the saddest and reminds us a lot about Esther Arunga’s case.
She came from a beautiful award winning belle with a bright future ahead in showbiz. Then she got married to some pastor who put her in vitenges and headscarves and Tero became a shadow of her former self.
Her career in the industry also gave up the ghost and Tero is now a distant memory. Meanwhile, her sister Vanessa Mdee is soaring to greater heights and is recognized as one of Africa’s greatest female artistes.

Slut Shaming in the 21st Century??? No! No! Edward Chweya

So yesterday Sue Watiri one of the senior Ghafla writers stumbled upon something very interesting. She was perusing the internets and she extracted something which had been long stuck in the archives. The video of that woman, who was molested, traumatized and harassed ghoulishly by barbaric touts at the Embassava stage in Nairobi CBD for apparently rocking something deemed inappropriate.

She had donned a skirt which was showing a bit of too much leg and the touts allegedly couldn’t handle it so they found it only fair to remove all her clothes for all to see. Just in case you missed it, this is what I’m talking about;

Sue together with all the lasses we have in the office went berserk and felt nauseated just to say the least after watching it and temperatures hit the roof when one lad in the office uttered that she deserved it. This lad’s name is Edward Chweya and his statement led to the whole of Ghafla being embroiled in an argument that lasted close to two hours.

Chweya argued that we were a pure nation, Christian nation that didn’t condone such overly connotations of sexuality. “Especially in women; nah! Nah! “He continued. We all couldn’t believe what he was saying mind you he’s one of the most astute writers we have in the bunch. “A woman rocking such revealing clothes is a disgrace to society and this women have a special place in hell! “What exactly are they doing tempting men like that? He seemed to ask us. Yes, this were words coming from a man who had gone through four years of rigorous training in one of the most reputable higher learning institutions we have in this country. He even got the courtesy to share a podium with the one and only Dikembe Disembe. So it came a surprise to us what would warrant a man of such stature to utter such catastrophic words?

slut_shaming.jpg

The lasses were all up in arms and threatened to computer him to death- get it, a computer is the only weapon of mass destruction we have in this office. But I digress…..words were also thrown around. Like I remember hearing diabolical, primitive and even shagmodoz whatever that means. Actually if it wasn’t for Baba Ghafla who cooled off the temperatures, Chweya would probably be in hospital right now, bed ridden and without functioning nuts (Ghafla women are rough like that).

The lads were also up in arms too. Cabuga clearly didn’t hesitate to banish Chweya to the frames of “hell and the called him a village boy who had no place in modern day society. “You don’t deserve to be even employed!’ He further bellowed. I bet most of you want to throw tantrums too, cause pandemonium and maybe throw a few stones if not computers but before you do, calm down your cahoots, rub your nipples and think about how you can help out this young man from Kisii land.

Actually I want to be the first to throw in a few spanners in the works. First of all Chweya! Emancipate yourself from all the brainwashing the white colonizers instilled in you. Sexuality is an African thing and I have history to back me up. And you don’t even have to go far. Look at our brothers and sisters from Turkana who still uphold their traditions. Do their women wear bras? NO! Do their men walk around shirtless? YES! So case closed; Okay, what about pants and other undergarments? My point exactly. While at it I’ll also ask a very simple question? Do you see them walking around head high proud of having subjected their women to such a bigotry just because they were showing a little leg? Didn’t think so!

This whole nonsense of virtuousness is actually a Caucasian thing which saw the light of day after white missionaries set foot in the African continent. Why they decided to do this? I don’t know but one thing for sure is that they decided to reverse the roles on us. Aren’t they the same ones we see gallivanting in different parts of the world gladly showing off their possessions? Now we have the likes of Chweya who believe that women need to cover up if sanity is to be maintained. That a little cleavage is bound to make a few men uncomfortable and they might in turn be tempted to do some terrible things- he was specifically looking at Sue.

read_a_book.jpg

Utter BS is what I thought. This is just a man who is self-entitled and doesn’t have the slightest respect for women. He sees them as objects of pleasure that don’t have a say in any matter even on matters concerning their own skin. Their work is just to sit there and make men of his kind comfortable. Cabuga actually thought of him as a man who is just bitter for not getting any female attention. *shots fired*

I on the other hand think he’s just a man corrupted by the uncouth ways of society. Nobody has a right to women’s bodies but themselves. They want to walk around skimpily dressed, let them. In turn just lock up your mind and deviate from the gutter; as a matter of fact appreciate rather than condemn as the female anatomy is just a spectacle to behold. And what if it was you walking around in your boxers? Could the same touts have done the same to you?

If not out of your own vocation, then why not adhere to the rule of law? Aren’t you the same fellow who’s constantly blurbing about how everything is just wrong in this country? Why not set the first example and respect vital tenets like the freedom of movement, freedom of expression and most importantly the right to one’s privacy. Or aren’t women’s bodies private? I could go and on but I think I’ll just let Sue or Cabuga take it from there……

Prezzo Now Eyeing A Political Seat

Life is all about taking a risk, finding new adventures and trying things many wouldn’t expect you to try.

We all try new things from time to time and celebrities are no different. We have seen singers such as Mudigi Savara go into acting, Radio presenters like Adelle Onyango have dabbled with singing and actresses have gone into singing such as Mayonde.

For some, trying other careers in the entertainment world is not enough, some choose to showcase their abilities on a different stage, the political one.

Did You Know Veteran Comedian KJ of Redykyulass is an Accomplished Cartoonist? Here is some of his Ingenious Work

KJ

Celebrities such as Mwongolo and KJ have experimented with politics. Sadly, their political careers did not make it past the ballot. And as if that was not enough, their entertainment careers also took a kick in the teeth.

But Prezzo has not been fazed by the failure of his predecessors and has declared his intentions to take the showbiz into politics route.

Prezzo announced on Capital F.M  yesterday that he intends on vying for a parliamentary seat come 2017.Hmm…we hope he has better luck than his predecessors.

Even Kaligraph Jones Will Have to Salute Octopizzo This Time Round and This is Why

A work well done deserves to be given credit and all prior judgment avoided. Octopizzo has done that good work and he sure deserves accolades.

Do you have a liking for Octopizzo’s songs? Well if you don’t there is something exciting that may just draw your attention to his music. Whether you love him or not, Octopizzo has gone a notch higher to drop you the kind of song that naturally appeals to you; you don’t have to be a hip hop enthusiast to like it as the beats will just excite you.

Dubbed Something For You, Octopizzo’s new song is actually a love song praising someone’s other better half. It is not a norm for rappers to sing about love but Octopizzo has done it and he did it so well and I think that is why this song is even unique. Enough of beating the drum for the song, check out the video here:
