Sponsors have been the talk of the nation for a while now ever since Huddah Monroe and Capital FM’s Joe Muchiri publicly tore into each other.

Huddah Monroe is once again at the centre of the sponsor thing after she shared a few tricks on how to ‘drain’ a sponsor.

As usual, it’s men’s responsibility to make sure ladies get their fair share of intoxication while  in the club. Even so, it’s not a guarantee that lasses will get free booze just by showing up at entertainment hotspots.

Huddah took it upon herself to teach ladies how to milk potential sponsors considering she’s quite the specialist.

The socialite was attending a gig at Aqua Blue which apparently had zero entrance charges. She was giving ‘penniless’ ladies tips of how to get high at the expense of sponsors.

Talk of Robert Alai and someone will tell you he is the most controversial man we have around. He just courts controversy at will, but has in most cases ended up wowing many for speaking his mind out and of course to a greater extent, the truth.

Then there is Babu Owino, a man who has remained the University of Nairobi’s King. He has won the student elections twice, flooring his competitors with landslide wins. He is arguably the most successful student leader the UoN has ever seen and he is the students’ darling.

The two maestros are on each other’s neck this time round.

Through his twitter account, Robert Alai has once again courted controversy by making outrageous allegations on the UoN student leader.

Alai claims that Babu Owino is responsible for the killing of two students over the weekend. He says that his PA whom he calls Osano organized and arranged for the killing of the students who he says are opposed to Owino’s administration.

The allegations by Alai have caused a heated debate on the social media, with the hash tag UoN gangs trending at number one.

KOT have reacted differently to the allegations, with some bashing Alai for making baseless accusations while others calling for an investigation into the same.

Ghafla Kenya is making efforts to reach out to Owino for comment over the same and when we do, we will let you know.

Meanwhile, if these allegations are anything to go by, then something must be done urgently at the University of Nairobi. However, until we prove this, treat this as just a rumour.

Comedian Sleepy David has stunned the social media with one of the finest messages a son should send his father on a special day like yesterday.

Almost everyone who cares took to social media to send their fathers a happy fathers’ day, but comedian Sleepy David stole the show outright.

What is even stunning is not the message he sent his father but what he revealed about him.

He passed on in 2008 but Sleepy has fond memories of the man. And do you know what you did not know about him? Well, Mr. Moses Ng’ang’a Njoroge was a man of the cloth!

Nigerians have recognized five Kenyans whom they have decided to honor for their great achievement in the field of entertainment.

Sauti Sol and actor Gerald Langiri, are the Kenyans who have attracted the eyes of Nigerians to earn nomination for the prestigious NEA Awards (Nigeria Entertainment Awards.)

NEA award is an annual event focused on recognizing the contributions of African Entertainers to the entertainment industry. It was first held in New York City in January 2006.

The 10th edition of the annual award will once again be taking place in America’s most populous city on September the 6^th and this time round five Kenyan faces will be flying the country’s flag high.

Sauti Sol was nominated in African Artist Of The Year category. They will be facing stiff competition from Ghana’s rapper, Sarkodie, South Africa’s AKA and Tanzania’s Diamond.

On his part, Gerald Langiri was nominated in Actor of the year (Africa) category. It’s not the first time Nigerians are falling in love with Jerald.

Sometimes this year, the actor flew to Nigeria for the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) where he was nominated in the ‘Best actor in a comedy’ category.

Yesterday the world marked Fathers’ Day, a day set aside to celebrate our male parents, show them love and appreciation for what they have done in our lives. Kenyans were not left behind either. The social media, specifically, flooded with sweet messages for the dads, with many taking the opportunity to even show their fathers through photos. It was a fun-filled Sunday on social media and the other media in general.

And as this happened, there are celebrities who took their time to let us have a glimpse of who their fathers are and how they look like. And of course the messages they sent them are just incredible.

Sauti Sol’s Polycarp Otieno

He is one of the four boys who have wowed the world with their gut-wrenching and attractive jams thanks to their group Sauti Sol. Today, Sauti Sol stands as the all time best group in the 254 and beyond, and it seems they are not going to relent on this any time soon. So Polycarp took to instagram through the group’s account and sent a wonderful message to his father.

He narrated how his father nurtured his music talent and encouraged him to give it 150% if at all he wanted to succeed in it. It seems Polycarp is a good boy because with Sauti Sol, he has already achieved a lot.

Capital FM’s Amina Abdi

For the radio queen, this was one of the finest weekends of her life. Apart from being a fathers’ day where she celebrated both her father and her husband, Amina was holding a glamorous birthday bash for her 1 year old son, TUMI.

She couldn’t hide her joy at seeing her son grow and she went on to flood the social media with photos from the birthday celebrations.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko was given a hard time by the very man he sued for impersonating him on social media.

A man by the name, Koech Sonko, has been conning Kenyans on social media by pretending to be Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko.

The imposter has been asking Kenyans to send him cash so that he could do things for them, things Sonko usually does without asking money from Kenyans.

The long arm of the law finally caught up with the Koech guy and last Friday he was arraigned in court to answer to charges of fraud.

You can say the dude has guts! Unlike most criminals who keep quiet during the proceeding in court, the guy kept on bombarding Sonko with words after words.

“So how can you prove to this court that I was the one impersonating as you?” Koech asked Sonko.

That question caught the Nairobi Senator off guard and he simply didn’t have a comeback.

Learning the plaintiff wasn’t his match in as far as answering questions was concerned, Koech kept on shelling Sonko with ‘misguided’ questions and for a moment the Senator lost his cool and raised his voice.

Otonglo Boy first burst into the limelight when he left the president in stitches thanks to his well presented and extremely hilarious narrative.

Soon after that, he became a favorite of the president and he was soon sponsored by the president enabling the boy from a humble background to complete school.

This morning, shocking news reached us from the Standard newsroom, news that Otonglo’s mum had been detained at a hospital after she was unable to clear the hospital bill. What’s more, Otonglo Boy allegedly still owed his Highway secondary 18,000 Kshs in arrears.

We spoke to Dennis Itumbi, the Director of Digital Communication in the Office of the President of the Republic of Kenya to find out what was going on in the Otonglo front.

“We Paid for her (Otonglo’s mum) to be admitted and cleared the whole bill and there is no single balance until the boy clears form four unlike what the papers claim. “ he says, before adding that “When it comes to his mum, we have been in the process throughout since she was admitted till she was discharged. And if you do not believe that we cleared the fees, Highway Secondary school is close to town you can always go and confirm. But I assure you we do not owe Highway Secondary even a single coin”

“The story is simply not true, go to Highway and check, if there is a balance by all means run that story” he concludes.

Corazon Kwamboka is yet another celebrity who is a bit outspoken and has never shied away from airing what she feels should be said out loud.

The socialite is now taking shots at Americans for what she calls an application of double standards.

America has been in the news after a young man opened fire in a church and killed nine people  before fleeing.

Police who have been trailing the man finally nabbed him but the manner in which they handled him is where Corazon has drawn her argument from.

The killer is a white man and Corazon has wondered why he is not arrested the same way police arrested black Americans who commit the same crime.

Corazon compares how black Americans are harassed and escorted like animals while the white man is arrested like a VIP.

She said: 

This really makes me sad! Just shows how black lives don’t matter to these people, so a boy kills nine people and given a ‘VIP’ arrest! Jacket and all! If he was black he would be dead by now! #blacklivesmatter #whitesupremacy. Why I would never leave Africa my motherland for anything. 

The Kenyan police recently offered 20 Million Kshs for a Madrassa teacher believed to be the mastermind behind the grotesque Garissa University attack .

Which is one of the worst Al-Shabaab attacks in the country as it claimed one hundred and forty eight lives.

Now they are on the hunt for a German national believed to be part of the group responsible for the assault on a military base in Lamu County that resulted to 11 insurgents and 2 Soldiers getting killed

Andreas Martin Muller, who has the alias Abu Nusaybah has been described as ‘armed and dangerous’ and the police are offering 10 Million Shillings bounty for his capture.

 

The international community has joined the manhunt for this terrorist with BBC , Deutsche Welle‎, tanzaniatoday, gbcghana among others joining the hunt.
