As reported early on by Ghafla! Kenya, controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi is eating a humble pie after abusing and degrading the Luo community through a series of tweets.

The lover of the Tyranny of Numbers phrase found himself on the wrong side of the law when he called Luos Poverty Stricken, something that prompted LSK to write to the NCIC to probe Ngunyi and charge him.

Before that happened, however, Ngunyi has tendered an unreserved apology, saying he has chosen to eat a humble pie after mocking the Luo Nation.

Kenyans who have been keenly following the analyst’s tweets quickly aired in their feelings about the same.

19 Gor Mahia fans who allegedly caused trouble during the aborted Mashemeji Derby on Sunday have been presented to court for charges.

The 19 were arrested in the CBD in possession of stones and other objects which police believe were meant to throw the public into panic and cause harm to innocent civilians.

They are also accused of injuring some people and destroying property.

The 19, however, refused to take plea to the charges against them after their lawyer claimed their rights had been violated.

The judge is expected to decide if they will be charged or not.

The clash between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards was abandoned after trouble ensued when fans from both sides pelted stones at each other forcing police to lob teargas canisters to disperse a tense situation that was building.

Governor Kidero has already threatened to ban the two clubs from playing their games in Nairobi after property worth thousands of shillings was destroyed.

We have heard of Kenyan celebrities doing ratchet things but what Beyonce did will leave all your jaw on the floor.

According to Pulse Magazine, Mombasa socialite/events manager Julia Achieng commonly referred to by her moniker Beyonce left many patrons at Bob’s club in Mombasa scandalized after she went all ratchet.

An excerpt from the article reads: “Beyonce is seen spreading her legs and exposing herself near naked, as she dances suggestively with a male patron who struggles to run away from her. In the video, she moves over to another man who also struggles off her heavy thighs. The daylight drama that took place at Club Bobs, Mombasa, exposed the events girl badly and even got other revelers at the club running away from her”

Attempts to give Beyonce a right of reply proved futile as she was unreachable.

Both Amina Abdi and Amos Wako have made a name for themselves in their respective fields.

Amos Wako as the former attorney General of Kenya and as the Busia County Senator. While Amina is known to many as an MC, Musician and a radio presenter at Capital F.M.

So could these two be joining our list of Kenyan celebrities whose relatives are connected politically? In an interview with janrihanchor.wordpress.com, Amina Reveals that her full name is Amina Abdi Wako.

Begging the question whether she is related to Amos Wako. But as she says she is not related to the famed politician in any way, they just have a name in common

Kidero follows in the footsteps of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua who banned Gor Mahia from playing in the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos after they destroyed property worth millions of shillings after losing their game.

On Sunday, Nairobi experienced the same unfortunate incidences. The game was abandoned after crowd trouble erupted. Property was destroyed by the rowdy fans.

Early on, Gor fans allegedly torched a county council van in the CBD. This and many others are the reasons why Kidero has said that the teams may not play in Nairobi again.

“The governor is incensed by what happened on Sunday and has moved to ban the (AFC and Gor Mahia),”  Goal.com quotes a source from City Hall.

The Tv series “Walking Dead” might not be on the same level as “Empire” or “The American Oddysey” Or  even “Intelligence” but the thriller has cut itself a niche and attracted quite a legion of fans and followers the world over.

In total viewers, “Fear” surpasses TNT’s “Raising the Bar” (7.7 million in 2008) as top dog among cable premieres.

The new 90 minute show that premiered on Sunday night is a long winded account of : What did the world look like as it was transforming into the horrifying apocalypse depicted in “The Walking Dead”? This spin-off set in Los Angeles, following new characters as they face the beginning of the end of the world, will answer that question

It’s an article that has spread widely, shared extensively and has caused a pandemonium in the world especially among Kenyans.

Which article is this you wonder? It’s an article about controversial presidential candidate Donald Trump talking about deporting Kenyans including Obama if he becomes president.

The story is believed to have originated from Newslo a satirical website. An excerpt from the article reads:

“…For example, I’ve had my eye on Kenyans for a while now. The whole thing started back in the 17th century, which makes me believe that there’s more to that challenge than meets the eye. ‘Kenyan Americans,’ as they call themselves, have been here for a while now, and there are bound to be some difficulties with the whole deportation process. But, I wouldn’t be who I am if didn’t love a good challenge,” Trump told Newslo.

Just like with Mexico, the media magnate also said he will make Kenya pay for the costs of deportation: “It’s really no different than Mexico, just like no other deportation will deviate significantly from this model, which I would like to call ‘Trump’s final solution.’ I promise Americans that I will make the Kenyan government pay for the deportation of every descendant of every Kenyan who today resides in the United States, regardless of how they came to be here.”

When asked whether his previous statement about the deportation of the descendants of Kenyans would include President of the United States Barack Obama, whose father is Kenyan, Trump replied: “Naturally. There will be no exceptions. Especially so, since the situation in which America is today is largely his fault. When he’s deported, the long road to recovery will finally be able open for us.

The government was dealt a major blow on Monday when the Supreme Court upheld a ruling by the High Court that teachers’ salaries be increased by 60%.

The Teachers Service Commission had gone to court to appeal the ruling, claiming that the government has no enough money to meet the demands of the teachers.

However, after the ruling, elated teachers through their leader Wilson Sossion promised to go on a mass strike come September if the government fails to give them a salary increment.

And now Radio Jambo’s Gidi Ogidi has shared strong words with the government. Gidi says that the government should not waste money on National Youth Service Projects (NYS) and instead slash its budget to cater for the salaries of the teachers.

“The Kenyan teacher has won again after that supreme court ruling, the government should now stop any more court dramas and pay teachers. Slash that 25B NYS budget being siphoned by tenderpreneurs like Mutahi Ngunyi and pay teachers,” Gidi said through his social media account.

The radio personality also found time to attack political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi whom he says is among those siphoning money from the government.

Celebrated runner Ezekiel Kemboi is the talk in town after he once again won the 3000M steeplechase in Beijing, China on Monday.

Kemboi set a new record for being the first runner to win the gold medal in four consecutive competitions, much to the expectation of many Kenyans.

He is a true legend. Kemboi led other Kenyans for a clean sweep of the medals, leading from number one to four.

And this is the reason why everybody is singing the athlete’s heroics.

Among those who have been marveling at Kemboi’s genius on the track is President Uhuru Kenyatta. Through his social media account, the head of state has lavished praise on Kemboi and his colleagues, congratulating them for their efforts which have continued to market Kenya to the globe.

The head of state joined other Kenyans and said:

“Congratulations Ezekiel Kemboi, Conseslus Kipruto & Brimin Kipruto for the clean sweep in the 3000m steeplechase #IAAFWorldChampionships“.

His deputy, William Ruto, also had a word for the athletes. He said:

“Bravo Ezekiel Kemboi for winning in the 3000m steeplechase final and Vivian for reclaiming her title in the 10,000m at IAAF in #Beijing2015“.

Ezekiel Kemboi is known for his sick dance moves after his victories and he is dancing even more thanks to  his latest win.

Kemboi whizzed past his competitors at the recently concluded IAAF World Athletics Championships in Beijing grabbing the gold in the 3000m steeplechase.

The silver and bronze medals were snatched by the Kiprutos; Conseslus Kipruto and Brimin K Kipruto.

Kemboi dedicated this win, which is his fourth successive win in the global event to Jaguar for his work in stamping out drugs among the youth.

Well… He’s so connected to the above two,he has to wield similar media power. But not as big. Ruto’s name is a huge catch. And you can never go wrong with a Ruto headline.

4. Mike Sonko
Nairobi’s,no,Kenya’s MOST electrifying politician. He’s ubiquitous. And seems to do all things all the time in all Counties. He’s seen as the Ultimate Kenyan Robin Hood. And as the Christ Of the Poor. Interestingly,a Mike Sonko headline on a newspaper may not really help sell the paper. Mike Sonko’s golden name only works on blogs and on social media. Still,it’s something.

Not since the era of akina Koigi Wamwere,James Orengo and Gitobu Imanyara has a student leader evoked so much passion,excitement and national interest. Babu Owino knows how to get them. Ng’ang’a is the BIGGEST of all our scandal-ridden Kenyan Televangelists. He’s the most wealthy of them all. The most fabulous,pompous and popular (Ok,with the exception of the colourful Kathy Kiuna) And that’s why his hit-and-run story generated so much national debate. That’s why local newspapers dedicated acres and acres of space to the Ng’ang’a murder story. And that’s why Nation Newspaper editors went out of their way to make Ng’ang’a the national headline for almost two weeks straight. We love dirt. And scandal. Sometimes in October 2013, Apostle Thomas Dexter better known as TD Jakes fell on the radar of KOT over his itchy words; “The natives all over Kenya drink water because of this ministry.”

TD Jakes is obviously not Kenyan but he was chosen under Friend of Kenya category which celebrates non-Kenyans for their contributions towards this great country.

Sensational Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, is well known for his swanky lifestyle. He also accords his family royal-like treat. Their recent photos in popular Middle East destination may make you jelly or better, curse poverty with the strongest words in English vocabulary!

Mike Sonko and his entire family boarded a plane destination Dubai, United Arab Emirates. When I say entire I also mean Baby Osinya was on board.

Sonko adopted the kid after his mother was killed by armed militants’ bullet during an attack in a church in Mombasa.

Talking of a vacation in Dubai, the Arab City is slowly stealing the glamour from Las Vegas as the entertainment capital of the world.

An excursion to a world class city is not cheap, Dubai’s hotels and other places of fun to visit can drain your money like no one’s business.

Sonko managed to take his family to the city’s finest shopping mall, underground aquarium among other ritzy places.

M-Net Movies and MultiChoice are making African television history with a new pop up channel featuring all six epic films from the Star Wars Saga.

From 31 August until 13 September DStv Premium customers will be transported to a galaxy far, far away with a special channel on M-Net Movies 109. This groundbreaking two week long addition to the existing nine M-Net Movies channels on DStv is the continent’s very first events channel built around international movies, as well as Africa’s first channel dedicated to all things Star Wars.  

Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and all the other iconic Star Wars characters will wield their lightsabers on channel 109 on DStv Premium, which will feature all the Star Wars movies, as well as other programming linked to the franchise.  

Each day of the week, starting 31 August, the M-Net Movies Star Wars channel will screen one of the blockbusters that dominated global popular culture since its epic release in 1977 – from the cult classic Star Wars: A New Hope with which George Lucas introduced us to Star Wars mythology to 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith which was praised for its mind-blowing digital effects. The movies will play in chronological order of release at 19:30 CAT as well as at 06:00 CAT on the same day, while those who missed out on the action during the week can binge-watch the entire galactic saga from beginning to end on Sundays. 

The movies will be interspersed with animated features and series, featurettes, documentaries and other delights from the Star Wars universe.

The sick child, whose life was thrown into limbo by one Alejandro Wanjau after disappearing with money from well-wishers for her treatment, has safely landed in Toronto, Canada ahead of her planned head surgery later this week.

Baby Fidelis Muthoni became the centre of focus last when it emerged that she was bound to miss planned treatment in America because someone had swindled the money meant for her treatment.

Alejandro Wanjau is already in police custody.

President Uhuru quickly forked out 500K from his pockets for the little angel as her family hurried to beat the deadline set by Canadian doctors who had offered to treat her for free.

And now good news is that Baby Fidelis and her mother touched down in Toronto Pearson International Airport and were received by one Irene Njoroge who works as a nurse in Canada.

Njoroge and her family will host Baby Fidelis and her mother for 6 months as she receives treatment. The little angel was expected to see her doctors early today as they embark on treating her disfigured face.

Ann Mbaru took to the underground immediately after BBA but recently resurfaced.

She made headlines recently after a Taxi guy forcefully trying to have carnal knowledge of her and she narrated the incidence on Facebook. Speaking exclusively to Ghafla, Ann Mbaru gave us a breakdown of how the whole unfortunate night went down.

She says that they started the night out at Mwenda’s and chose to club hop thereafter, their two options being Gypsy’s and Vineyard. So Ann Mbaru and her friend went to Vineyard for what promised to be a night of fun before they hopped to Gypsy’s.

Unfortunately, her friend left and she attempted to find her way out of the club.Unlike what many thought, she says she was not drunk while leaving the club. The reason being that she is a public figure and she doesn’t fancy being the talk of the town as she wobbles in a drunken trance, a scene that we have witnessed one too many times among countless public figures.

When she was finally able to get hold of her friend, he said that he was at Gypsy’s, so she went to the guys at Vineyard asking for a reliable cab guy. She was then directed to some guys who were lined up outside and asked for the fare to Gypsy’s but the price was too expensive.It was 600 Kshs for a short distance so she protested and the taxi driver then walked away rudely when she attempted to bargain.

After he walked away, a young gentleman approached her and informed her that he would do the job for just 400 Kshs before calling an old man who would then become her driver.

The leader of the other cabs, a woman warned her against getting in the cab but she did.

She realized things were amiss when he did not take the turn to Gypsy’s but chose to accelerate .Before she could put two and two together the guy started groping her breasts, fondling and touching her inappropriately.

He twisted her hand then he told her that he liked raping girls like Ann. Her protests were met with commands to shut up. Her saving grace was threats that she would destroy him on social media and use her political connections if he did not get his grubby hands of her.

The name dropping helped as the driver froze  and she then ordered him to turn to Gypsy’s but he refused demanding money from her.

When he slowed down she jumped out and made sure she checked the car’s number plate before fleeing to safety at Gypsy’s . At Gypsy’s she attempted to call her friend but unfortunately his phone was off…. Watch out what happened next below:

Mutahi Ngunyi may find himself in hot soup if calls to have him probed for allegedly propagating hate speech are taken into considering.

The political analyst angered the Luo community when he ranted last week, calling them poverty-stricken which came off as bitter words to opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Mutahi tweeted saying:

“Raila should be put on TRIAL.The JUDGE: poverty stricken LUOs. And LUHYAs craving his bondage. CHARGE: selfishness, selfishness, selfishness.”

This is the reason why the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) wants the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to probe the founder of the famous phrase Tyranny of Numbers.

LSK Apollo Mboya made the remarks in reference to last week’s tweets.

However, Mutahi Ngunyi seems to be unmoved by the calls to have him probed and instead went on to attack Apollo Mboya, saying that he doesn’t believe he went through the law school.

New roles on the table for Imenti Central MP bodyguards. They either comply or leave.

MP Gideon Mwiti has been embroiled in controversy since April this year when he was accused of raping a former journalist in one of his offices in Westlands.

After massive outcry from the enraged public, the MP was arrested and charges opened against him. However, it was the other day that court suspended the case temporarily to allow for an application by the accused to stop any prosecution after alleging evidence against him had been tampered with.

And the MP decided that enough is enough and announced that he had seen the light and therefore was saved.

Over the weekend, Mwiti attended a fundraiser at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Meru where he led the service and declared that he has been saved and is not looking back.

The MP then gave his bodyguards a task to perform. He told them they take care of him and make sure that he does not stray or do any sin.

“As I say all this, I want to speak to police officers who are here. I am surprised when I hear an MP has gone somewhere and beaten someone or has been found in someplace at night. Bodyguard means you guard the body. I don’t know whether you understand that English? If the government has employed you to guard the body of Hon Justin Muturi, you should guard it. If I have been given a bodyguard round the clock, how can I be in the wrong place? I am putting my bodyguards on notice. My bodyguards are on notice to guard the body that the government is paying you to guard,” reports Nairobi News.

During his stay here, Lillian Muli sat with him for an interview on Citizen TV; under her popular segment “One on One”

After talking about his favorite artistes, his new album and meeting Michael Jackson, Lillian Muli asked him why he is always in a hat.

Do you ever stay without a hat? Lillian asked.

“Only when is shower and sleep, if I can get away with wearing it in my sleep I do that “he says.

He goes on to explain how his ‘hat journey began “My hair started thinning out when I was young before high school. You know how cruel kids can be, so I was the only kid who was allowed to wear my hat since I was picked on so bad.”

“It started out as something to cover my shame and embarrassment but as time progressed I realized that I am not living my life for me” he says .But his attachment to his hat was too strong, so he decided to incorporate it into his day to day outfits and thus the signature look was born!
