If You Thought It Is Only Ethiopia Beating Us on The Ultra Modern Transportation Race,Check Out Rwanda’s Plans For The World’s First Dronport

Last week came the news of Ethiopia’s new modern trains and railway system. This came after the country’s airline had dominated the region’s airlines following the struggles KQ found itself in this year. Now, the region’s fastest growing economy Rwanda seems set to set not just an African but also a worldwide first.

Rwanda is set to build the world’s first droneport.  This is not just a small scale issue since the design of the project are being done by the same architect who built the world’s largest airport, Lord Norman Foster. The company has already unveiled the plans with construction set to begin next year and end in 2020 in a project that would see three droneports created in the country. The aim is to allow for easy movement of medical supplies but the project also envisions the commercial use of the ports thus it will feature a blue line for the light weight medical supplies and a red line for the commercial drones with capacity to ferry up to 100 Kgs. of cargo.

Below are photos of the released designs for the drone port

Citizen TV’s Robert Burale’s Daughter Is A Spitting Image Of Her Father (Photos)

They say that the apple does not fall far away from the tree and in the case of Citizen TV’s Fashion Watch’s Robert Burale this statements rings 100% true.

This is because his daughter really takes up after her famous father. A man who has made a name for himself as a motivational speaker, a preacher and a go-to fashion guru.

While may search the world looking for people who look like them, Robert does not have to look too far as his doppelganger is underneath his roof.

Doomsday Has Not Yet Struck, But Something Absolutely Awe-inspiring Happened Earlier This Morning. (photos)

Doomsday-mongers reiterated  that the end of the world as we know it would be the  28 of September 2015. Today.

If you have not yet made peace with your maker, this would be a perfect time to do it. But away from the end of the  world shenanigans, something absolutely magical, regal and totally entrancing  happened earlier this morning.

To those of us that were awake by 5.47 a.m in Nairobi and Nakuru or in Germany, we had the pleasure of witnessing a full blood moon, something that you shall have to wait until 2033 to see again!

Wasn’t I lucky?

Now, the blood moon by definition is a lunar tetrad. What is a tetrad? It’s four successive total lunar eclipses, with no partial lunar eclipses in between, each of which is separated from the other by six lunar months (six full moons).

The term “blood moon”  has gained popularity the world over with its attachment  to the biblical prophecies that the “Lunar tetrad”  would be an indication that the end of the world was nigh.

“The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord..” Acts 2:20

Maybe I spoke too soon.

The term blood moon  has gained quite the  momentum in Kenya with people drawing fascination from watching the awe-inspiring sight. Methinks we are watching too much TV.

These are photos of the sight as it unfolded in Germany, Nairobi and Nakuru.

Power Couple Size 8 and Dj Mo Strike A Different Path And Get Into School Business (Photos)

They are the definition of a winning couple with all the showbiz elements working for them; they are attractive, talented, influential, and hardworking. Add that to the fact that they are currently on top of their game and the objects of adoration from legions of fans in the country.

Now, the two have just proven to be at the top of the entrepreneurial game.

With every musician and celebrity going out for clotheslines and stores, these two have chosen to take the road less travelled and it may make all the difference in their financial fortunes. They have opened up a day care venturing into the education business. Given the demand of such facilities especially amongst the middle-income families, it is surely a well thought idea and looking at the photos of the facilities, it sure will not lack the quality. First impressions are good and the move has already elicited positive reaction from the public. The day care branded ‘God’s Gift Day Care’ is located in BuruBuru Phase 1, Mkondo court house no .244

Westgate Mall Garners International Media Attention, A Few Months After It Was Reopened

“We are happy to be back… I am sure that Westgate will be buzzing again.” are the words of many Westagte shoppers who are slowly trickling into the mall after the tragic events of September 21st 2013

This week ‘CNN Marketplace Africa’ reports from the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, where in the wake of tragedy a new beginning is evolving. The once thriving business hub in Nairobi re-opened in July 2015 after a deadly attack in September 2013 which saw 67 people killed, forcing the centre to shut its doors for nearly two years.

Thiagarajan Ramamurthy, director of Nakumatt a high end supermarket which has a flagship store at Westgate Mall, tells the show: “We are very happy to be back in Westgate. It was a big loss when we lost this branch. Westgate was our flagship branch and was doing extremely well. More than ten percent of our shoppers was coming from this place.”

Ramamurthy explains to the programme: “People living in this area spend a lot of money – their spending power is very high, and they were all waiting for this mall to be back here. People are coming back and slowly… We’ve got more than about fifty percent are back into the mall within 45 days which is something phenomenal.”

As Ramamurthy explains, Westgate’s monetary contribution to Kenya is huge: “Westgate is at a strategic location. It was contributing more than about Sh12 billion overall – approximately on the net value basis. You look at five six years and you are talking about Sh56 billion in business.”

The mall has more than eighty shops and is located in the affluent neighbourhood of Westlands, a popular meeting place for Nairobi’s growing middle class. Economic analyst Aly Khan Satchu tells ‘Marketplace Africa’: “Westlands is the beating heart of Nairobi’s economy in many ways. Nairobi is between forty and forty five percent of Kenya’s economy, and Westlands is really a key component of that Nairobi economy. Probably a quarter of it if you measure as a whole.”

Beyond Westgate, shopping malls are big business in Kenya. Satchu tells ‘Marketplace Africa’: “I think it is interesting as it didn’t put off a lot of multinational investors. The events of Westgate did not stop the development of this mall economy.”

However it has been a struggle for some of Westgate’s former tenants who relocated to other malls, such as Eritas Jewelers, who plan to go back to Westgate. Owner El Alon tells the programme: “All our customers are the ones we have from Westgate. In Westgate we have all kinds of customers, the tourists for silver for gold, gemstones and everything, a lot of people passing by every day. It was very bad because we closed the business. We lost a lot of money.”

Some stores are already back at Westgate where business is slowly returning. Jane Nioki, the store manager at Converse tells the programme: “We used to sell a lot at Westgate. At the moment the traffic is not so huge like it was before but we hope with time everything will go back to normal. As a company we’re very confident.”

Ramamurthy is also optimistic, telling the programme: “We are happy to be back. In six months it will be back to normal. I think this will become the landmark and the most profitable location for us going forward. I am sure that Westgate will be buzzing again.”

It’s hoped that the new security measures in place may give customers the needed confidence to come back and

This American Superstar Is the Reason Sauti Sol Got To Play on an International Stage with Beyonce, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran

A few months after performing for Obama, Sauti Sol made global headlines again after performing for a mammoth crowd of more than 60,000 people who had gathered in New York City’s Central Park on 26th September.

Flanking them on stage was other African mega-stars like, Becca, Diamond, Mafikizolo, Sarkodie, Toofan and Yemi Alade for the grand performance of “Tell Everybody”, a song that promotes the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

Other people that Sauti Sol got to share a stage with was Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Arianna Grande and Coldplay with celebrities like Kerry Washington, Hugh Jackman, Bono and Salma Hayek and even Queen Rania of Jordan making their way to the global event.

The question on everyone’s mind is how a Kenyan group got to share a stage with superstars. Well it’s all thanks to Coldplay’s front man Chris Martin who is the current creative director of the event.

GHAFLA EXPLORES: 10 Reasons Why Nakuru Has The Sweetest And Sexiest Girls

Chics from Nax Vegas are the sweetest. Any guy who has ever dealt with them will tell you the same. Except for a couple minor flaws, Nakuru girls are the most pleasant to deal with out of the many towns i have sampled from. A Nax chic has so many positive qualities that it’s best to describe them in list form…

1. They are gentle, and considerate (wanaelewa hizi vitu).

Even in the worst case scenario when a Nakuru girl rejects you, she’s sweeter than a Nairobi girl who shags you. If a Nakuru girl hates the drunk dude trying to grind on her, she still treats him with respect by letting him down easy. Since her nature is not to be mean and bishy, she’ll give light rejections that won’t even feel like rejections. You know the “i love you but igotta let you go” kind of rejections? Nakuru girls don’t get validation in rejecting men. They won’t bust your balls just for the sake of busting your balls and they won’t insult you if you happen to utter a bad joke.

2. They are as nurturing as mums.

A Nakuru girl gets pleasure by seeing you happy. It may not come early in the dating process, but you’ll be surprised down the line at how she does numerous little things to show that she wants to take care of you. She will insist on cleaning your house, offering to cook for you, or making genuine offers to take care of you when I was sick. These are things that Nairobi girls pretend to not have time for.

The result of that nurturing trait is that it becomes obvious she’d make a great wife and mother to your children. I have dated a couple Nakuru chics that made me think, “If I were to have a baby, I’d want to have it with her.” Unfortunately, that thought has never occurred to me when dating in Nairobi. Nakuru women make a guy want to be a provider—a strong man who could maintain a home and take care of her financially without any qualms.

3. They are very feminine.

Nakuru women look and act like women—end of discussion. I won’t even talk about the girls from a certain town who act like they have balls. Nakuru girls are not like that. They always want to look their best at all times to be more attractive to men.

4. No drama.

The biggest argument I had with a girl in Nakuru, if you want to call it that, was when she refused to suck my ‘D’ while she was ‘nyesharing’. That argument lasted three minutes and then she went on her knees. Nakuru girls don’t catch ‘hormones’. They are so easy-going that I don’t even know how a ‘throw-stuff-across-the-room’ type of fight could occurwith them. I’ve been brainwashed by Nairobi women to believe that there has to be tension and petty fights to keep a relationship interesting, and while that may be the case for some, I was more than content with thesmooth sailing and consistent sex that is the hallmark of Nakuru women

5. They don’t play silly games.

The girls in Nax don’t like the idea of playing games with men. They don’t lead you on aimlessly, trick you, or use you. They are also more tolerant to male imperfections. A mistake that would cost you the opportunity to sleep with a Nairobi girl won’t even be noticed by a Nakuru girl. You might spit only 50% vibe, even but a Nax chic will still reward you with raw lungula for trying.

zvoooooo

6. They are loyal.

Nakuru babes are completely monogamous. Girls are happier sleeping with one guy than turning their punanis into dust bins with the excuse of tasting the waters. Nakuru babes have no desire to cheat. If she has a guy, she won’t accept you even if your name is Drake and you come with a grammy.

Once you ‘chipo’ a Nakuru chic, no matter how quickly, you can most likely enter a relationship with her if you wish. It can be debated whether a Nakuru girl sleeps with a lot of guys during her lifetime (I doubt it), but I’m certain it’s sequential, one at a time, instead of letting simultaneous pens dip in her inkwell.

7. Horny.

Nakuru girls look and act wholesome, but good lord do they love sex. Your manhood might be epic enough to tire out other women by the second or third go around, but Nakuru girls will want much more than you are able to provide. They wanted the ‘D’ inside them for as long as possible, not satisfied with only one round per night, which is all that most guys seem to muster. But their love for lungula is good for you since you’ll always be at your top game

8. They embrace family values.

Nakuru girls have strong relationships with their parents. Only in Nakuru is where you will see mothers and their grown daughters walking hand-in-hand in malls while laughing or talking. I rarely see such sights in Nairobi and whenever I do, the daughter walks sulking and treats her mama like an annoyance instead of a queen.

9.They are hotter than your grandma’s meko

Nakuru girls have some serious curves and boobs. Their juicy curvature makes you drink a lot of water to quench your thirst. Isn’t water good for your health?

Their faces also shine with wonderful cheekbones and bright eyes. Some of the most beautiful women in the world I’ve seen have been from Nakuru

And when it comes to hair, Nakuru women do better than Nairobi women, who have adopted some hideous style of head shaving in an attempt to look like Huddah the boss wh*re. Nakuru women, however, keep extraordinary long hair whether natural or artificial. It is common to see girls with hair going down to their pancake asses and sometimes passing that. It doesn’t make sense why hair would be boner inducing, but it is.

10. They are fun to party with

Nakuru girls know how to turn up at parties and clubs. If it’s dancing…..they shake like Brazilian and Jamaican mood and if it’s dressing, they can be sentenced to life imprisonment for ‘killing’ men with their looks. Surely, what else can a Kenyan nigga want?

Dangerous Love: Radio Host ‘Murders’ Two Artists After Getting Wind They Were Engaged In All Manner Of Debauchery With His Sweetheart

Three celebs have been locked in a precarious brawl over a lady who was evidently playing all of them. The radio host has however resorted to ‘murdering’ the artists.

Friday the 25th, Ghafla! gets a call from T-Broz, identical twin singers best remembered for their twins organization dubbed Identical Family Organization, the only one in East and Central Africa, who wanted immediate help.

I sat down with a pen listened to their plight. T-Broz explained a local radio presenter, Johnstone Kiusya aka Joe of Mbaitu FM’s Miondoko Show, was out to finish their career and possibly their lives.

Presente_joe1.jpg

                                                                         Joe.

Reason being? The brothers were rumored to be having an affair with Joe’s sweetheart, Mary Mwakesi who also happens to be the duo’s manager.

The brothers tell me Joe has used his influence in entertainment industry to marshal other presenters and DJs to boycott their songs.

They say their songs no longer get airplay from most radio stations thanks to Joe’s relentless campaign against them.

But the intriguing question; did the brothers really ‘devour’ Joe’s girlfriend? From their explanation I could sense they actually eat from the same pot with Joe.

I didn’t need a psychologist’s knowledge to tell they were taking me for a ride; they beat around the bush offering uncalled for explanations that didn’t necessarily resonate with the question asked.

The frightened duo says their relationship with Mary was purely professional contrary to what the Radio presenter was in alleging.

                                                                                Mary

T-Broz are afraid Joe’s ‘obsession’ could not only maim their music career but could also plunge them into a bloody feud given that the radio presenter had issued them dire warning.

Robert Alai Has No Chills Whatsoever When Addressing This Popular Rich Pastor

It seems that Robert Ali will go in on anyone, regardless of your political standing, how popular you are ,whether you are dead or alive or whether you are a member of the clergy or not.

Last year he had an alteration with Bishop Kiuna over their lavish lifestyle and This time Robert takes a jab at Bishop Mark Kariuki of the deliverance church for a different reason altogether. Robert is harshly criticizing him for taking Waiguru’s side in the ongoing political drama.

This is what he writes:

It worries me that Bishop Mark Kariuki never came out when Mugo wa Wairimu was filmed raping women but came out when Waiguru was criticised for being too sweet to the President that she can’t punished.

Muthama just asked if Waiguru ameongezewa asali and that is what triggered grown men and political leaders baying for his blood.

We have bred a bunch of chauvinistic followers who doesn’t think beyond simple criticism.

Respect is earned and not forced.

Hot on the Heels of Mugo Wa Wairimu’s Case, another Medic Sedates and Rapes His Class 8 Pupil

About a month ago, a chilling video of a man sedating, mounting and raping his unconscious patient circulated widely on social media, sending chills down our spines.

The man in the video was said to be a popular ‘blogger’ Mugo Wa Wairimu who was arrested, released then arrested again over the incident.

Now a medic in Murang’a County called Douglas Mbutti has been accused of raping one of his patients, a 17 year old girl, after sedating her .Douglas who serves as the chief anesthetist at Muriranjas level 4 Hospital is said to have injected the girl with a sedative before defiling her. Suspicions arose when the girl regained consciousness and found him dressing up.

What’s worse, the class 8 pupil is now pregnant. Douglas maintains that he was not guilty of defiling the girl on April 12 and May 14 this year and was released on a 300,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.

Another Storm Brewing In Nacada? Jaguar Once Again Criticizes His Employer In Public

The last time Jaguar launched a tirade against Nacada was when he was threatening to quit his lucrative job. The singer is at it again!

What’s happening with Nacada? The organization’s internal wrangles have once again spilled over to public domain.

Last June, Jaguar put Nacada on the spot when he decided to exposed the filth that was crippling the alcohol and drug regulatory body.

Three months down the line, the ‘Huu Mwaka’ hit maker is still faulting his employer for not executing its mandate effectively.

Jaguar leveled accusation against Nacada when he visited Mombasa to assess the condition of drug addicts. He was accompanied by Bahati and Dr. Ngao.

He says Nacada was charging addicts as much as Kes 1000 a day for rehabilitation, all this when rehab centers had no doctors, medicines and blankets.

The singer accused Nacada officials of sleeping on their job when drug menace was taking its toll on addicts.

“I was in mombasa over the weekend and was saddened by what I found. With over 2.6 million drug addicts in Kenya, NACADA officials are very busy holding costly boardroom talks while addicts receive no education and no medical support to get them out of this never ending drug scourge.” Jaguar wrote in part.

Great minds came together a while back and created the Riziki Kahawa Youth Group; a group that strives to serve the Kahawa community mainly the children and youth in different projects. Same year it was conceptualized, the first marathon was held. This was back in 2005.

Riziki Group gives the youth a different venue to keep them busy than getting involved in premature sexual acts and drugs. An idol mind at the end of the day still is the devil’s workshop.

In 2006, they became custodians of a two piece acre of land that was earlier grabbed. Now than having some empty land just lying there not bringing any use to the society, members of Riziki Group came together and decided to raise funds that will go towards building a Recreational Centre, Early Childhood Centre, and a Hospital through a marathon.

The marathon will go down on the 10th of October, 2015. It will start at 7am at Nakumatt Wendani then runners will finish at Felma Grounds, at Kahawa Sukari. No entrance or biasness here, anyone who wants to join the marathon can, you all should btw.

  • Face Painting
  • Zumba Dance

True To Her Word, Ruiru MP Strips In Front Of A Crowd (VIDEO)

I honestly do not understand why most female politicians resort to stripping as a way of protest ,I mean there are many ways of solving issues without taking your clothes off.

Back in 2011,the then Special Programmes Minister Esther Murugi Esther Murugi vowed to strip naked along with a crowd of women if the ICC cases were confirmed or Uhuru was detained upon his arrival at The Hague. Thankfully, she kept her clothes on, much to the relief of many.

This year, a Ruiru M.P ,Esther Gathogo, who unfortunately happens to be my M.P decided to strip, angered by Muthama’s insensitive remarks. And we all thought she was kidding because it’s a taboo for a woman especially of her age and standing in the community to strip in public. We a;ll thought she was pulling her leg when she said “Nii maa yaa ngai no ndute nguo” which translates “I swear I will strip.”

But she walked the talk and lifted her dress but was thankfully refrained from showing more by a throng of shell-shocked women who ran as fast as their legs could carry them to avoid further embarrassment.

Her attempts to rock her birthday suit proved futile as the other women held her down, check the shenanigans that went down over the weekend below

Pope Francis Now Has an Album out It’s Lathered by Heavy Rock

Not Since the popular Pope John II, has there been such a popular pope with such cross cutting influence. Whereas the Late Pope John II maintained a statesmanlike aura and bit conservative, Pope Francis is radical, outgoing, fun and still humble. He is good with the Gregorian chants as he is in a rock crowd.

He tackles child abuse in the church with the same vivacious nature he takes on the G8 on climate and poverty issues. He is at company with the Buddhist monks as he is with Muslim Imams and even does not judge the LGBTs as much as he advocates for the family as enshrined at Eden. Such is his influence and personality that he was The TIME magazine person of the year 2013 and his recent visit to us he had half of New York shut down while travelling in simple Fiat. He is your ultimate rock star and as the country awaits him for his visit in November later this year, there is now something extra to look forward to, his Rock Album.

Yes, the Pope has a music album out. Pope Francis has an 11 track album titled Wake Up!  and will feature some of the Pope’s speeches on top of a soundtrack of original prog rock composed by Don Giulio Neroni and Tony Pagliuca of the band Le Orme. The album already has a pre-order link on iTunes and the lead single is already streaming here.

Willy Paul Is Surely The Kenyan Version Of Chris Brown. See Why

Chris Brown is the international star that best resonates with Willy Paul given that there is no American gospel singer that can preeminently be compared to the ‘Vigelegele’ hit maker.

Chris Brown/Willy Paul, what do they have in common? There are so many similarities between the two artists even though one is a secular musician while the other is a gospel singer.

The obvious connection between two is controversies. They have both been hit by damning accusations but how they have managed to swerve past the numerous squall is the most interesting part.

The latest allegation Willy was slapped with was his reported involvement in procuring an abortion.

Well, one would think this would maim his reputation and subsequently take its toll on his massive fan base.

But this was never to be, Willy Paul seems to be immune to all gibberish that is thrown to his face. Just like Chris Brown.

Willy’s latest song proves so. ‘Sijafika’ featuring Size 8, Kambua and Gloria Muliro, has already garnered over 30k views on YouTube some three days after it was uploaded.

This is astonishing, while some A-list artists (I will not mention them) are still grappling with 5k views in months, Willy Paul has over 30k for his new video despite the latest controversy!

I won’t say much, just watch the video below and see how Willy works his magic:
