Other participants of the roast include Larry Asego, Eddy Butita, Jalang’o and Frasha.

Corazon has gone international! I didn’t know practitioners within their lucrative profession were in close contact with their kind from around the world!

There are about two weeks left till selected musicians from the entire African continent converged in Dallas, Texas, USA for the annual AFRIMMA award gala.

African Muzik Magazine Awards AFRIMMA is set to take place on Saturday 10th October 2015. The award celebrates the beauty of African music and artistry.

Several Kenyan artists including Jaguar, Willy Paul, STL and many others have also been handed the tickets to attend the award.

Apparently both Kenyan and American socialites haven’t been left behind. Since the award honors artists and socialites are also artists, there is no reason why Corazon Kwamboka and her American counterpart, Patricia Washington, best known as Superwoman, wouldn’t attend the second edition of AFFRIMA award.

Superwoman is an A-List socialite in the US who boasts of leviathan booty that is almost one and half times bigger than that of Corazon. (She went for a Brazilian butt-lift while Corazon’s assets are natural, a product of years of eating matoke.)

The 31-year-old American confirmed her wife, Corazon Kwamboka, will be joining her to make an appearance at AFRRIMA award gala in Dallas.

I have taken a keen interest in yesterday’s deadly stampede in Saudi Arabia. In pursuit of information to quench my thirst on the Hajj disaster, I stumble upon a headline that almost made me cry.

“Mecca Eid al-Adha Hajj Stampede: Saudi prince blames African pilgrims for over 700 dead” (By International Business Times)

I clicked on the headline to find out more about this Prince Khalid al-Faisal and how ‘pilgrims with African nationalities’ killed more than 717 pilgrims.

International Business Times quoted the Saudi Prince blaming the worst tragedy ever occurred during the Hajj in 25 years, on some pilgrims with African nationalities.

I can’t immediately verify the authenticity of the claims by the UK site neither can I say I was shocked to hear that.

We have heard cases of Kenyans and Ethiopians living in Saudi Arabia being treated harsher than the black slaves who built the pyramids of Giza.

And this has been happening with the full knowledge of authorities who have refused to take action against oppressors.

Am I surprised a Saudi Prince can afford to blame ‘pilgrims with African nationalities’ for the stampede that killed over 717 worshipper??

It’s not the first time the head of state and the controversial blogger are conflicting. Alai, who has sanctified himself as an arbiter of truth, has been mortified by the President who pulped his rhetoric.

Some four days ago, Robert Alai was shouting from the rooftop how President Uhuru wouldn’t dare board Harambee One (I hear the presidential jet has been baptized Harambee One) because a deadly tornado was brewing in his office.

The blogger was claiming Arap Samoei and his lieutenants were salivating after the top seat and had schemed a plan to ascend to power once Baba Ngina leaves for US to attend the 70th Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York.

“The salvos being fired by Ruto’s lieutenants are not by chance. This is well calculated. This is the first constitution which allows the Deputy President to ascend to the Presidency after an impeachment without an election. Arap Mashamba this is your chance. Grab it.” Alai wrote.

The blogger was overwhelmingly confident Uhuru wouldn’t leave the 254. That was on Monday, two days later, uhuru was still spotted going about his business in Kenya. Alai then started bragging of how he’s the custodian of the truth.

“I told you that Uhuru was not going to New York because he fears being impeached by URP. Always ‪#‎TrustAlai”

A day after Alai was busy blowing his own horn, the unexpected happened. President Uhuru is seen coming out of a Kenya Air Force chopper then boards a plane to leave for the US.

And who was there to see him off? William Ruto. Where does that leave Alai? Or are we going to see another coup like what recently happened in Burkina Faso?

Sad news trickling in from Saudi Arabia indicates several worshippers have died in a stampede during one of the last rituals of the Hajj season.

The annual Muslim Hajj obviously started off on the wrong foot. 10 days before 2 millions pilgrims made their way to Islam’s holiest city, a craned collapsed killing 107 people at a mosque.

And now as Hajj comes to an end, disaster strikes again. International news outlets indicate more 700 people have died in a stampede that occurred during a ritual known as ‘stoning the devil’ in the tent city of Mina, in the outskirts of Mecca.

Report also points out the number of casualties could be more since authorities haven’t accounted for everybody.

The number of those injured from the stampede stands at 800, according to figures released by the Saudi government.

Kenyans have been quick to express empathy and show concern for the pilgrims following the disaster. ‘Mecca’ is currently trending second on twitter. A number of Kenyan Muslims had also travelled to Mecca.

Priscilla enjoyed quite a lovely lifestyle as an air hostess before her life took a rapid nose dive from the skies to the gutters. This is after she was caught trying to smuggle heroin worth 28 million Kshs into the country from India on the fateful morning of March 25 2002.

The high-flying airhostess, was nabbed when she tried to wheel in the 33 packages and 2 sachets of the illegal drug after a obligatory check at customs.

A crime that promised a mandatory life sentence if she was found guilty, lucky for her the judge gave her 18 years along with a fine of Kshs 10 Million. She attempted to untangle herself from this mess but it only made things worse and he fine was raised to 83.4 Million. All this for a job that would have earned her around 210,000 Kshs which was quite a rip-off considering the street value of the drugs she was trying to smuggle in.

Now 13 years later Priscilla Chemutai Kolongoi is free thanks to her good conduct while in jail.

Did you I ever tell you that it was my first time being a bridesmaid? Yes, it was. You looked dashing and glamorous in that gown. The fact that you chose to do your own make-up that day really stood out for me. You were such a darling and a queen full of life.

Your sense of humor was always enticing and that’s why you made such a good actress, musician, writer, photographer, and a loving and caring wife. I don’t want to say goodbye yet…. Noooo.. Joy Doreen Biira was born 29 years ago in Kasese, Uganda and holds a degree in BSc. Information technology from the famous Makerere University. She worked in Uganda for a while before moving to KTN as an anchor/reporter. In Kenya is where Joy made her name.

Yes, I am in a TBT mood and perfectly so having just gone through some earlier songs I just found the perfect one for a trudging Thursday afternoon. It was a hit song and made the record of being the first underground to earn a nomination at Kisima Awards, yes it was that big.

And the weekend is just around the corner- the perfect time to relax and unwind. I wonder what you’ll be doing with yours. I plan on club hopping over the weekend while dancing the night away; it’s been quite a while.

I hear there are some really kicking joints on the Westside of Nairobi which I’m looking to sample; apparently that’s where all the hottest Nairobi lasses hang out. You know the ones with long legs and equally long necks and with silhouettes that would definitely give Naomi Campbell a run for her money.

Why I have avoided Nairobi’s night life for a while you ask? It’s because of an episode I had a couple of months back. It all happened in Westlands on a certain Friday night. I was in the right frame mind, feeling myself just the way I should because this girl I have been having cahoots for finally agreed to go out with me; mind you after asking 107 times.

I guess tired of receiving a gazillion memes all hinting that we should be together kinda moved her and she decided to give me a date; plus I also think her main guy was out of the country. So Friday night it was, Westlands was the place and drinks were part of the program. Drinks we had alright and I think she had really started enjoying my company until some guy came and sat next to our table.

Handsome guy, about 6’2 with a pair of those geek glasses which went well with his goatee. He wore some brown khakis and marching moccasins with an omega bullhead on his wrist. He looked innocent until I went to the washroom and I found him flirting with my lady; such a bastard!

Of course I couldn’t take him- I’m only like 5 fit so I turned a blind eye. He put on a low profile and I figured everything was cool- plus my lady seemed to be really enjoying my company now. I excused myself once more and when I came back, my girl was nowhere to be found and so was the geek guy. Trying to reach her on the phone she was mteja; yes just like that she was gone. Even after buying her a bottle of famous grouse for 7k which I had saved up for like two months.

I managed to meet up with her a couple of weeks back and I asked why she did that to me. Blatantly she responded it’s because I didn’t own a car. I couldn’t believe it!

This weekend however I’m willing to finally let go- I’ll experiencing the night again but this time I’ll be doing it with a car, my boy’s car. With news that actress Nana  Gichuru had met an untimely ending after her car rammed onto an oncoming truck, social media came alive with speculations from all corners trying to unravel the mystery that was Nana. In a series of unapologetic updates and in total disregard of the grieving family , Robert went on a tirade, attacking the deceased from angles of speeding, careless driving, DUI, suicide among a twaddle of other accusation. 

All the while, the husband to Nana,the family and close family were  reading in pain and disbelief. Why can’t he let the dead be? Why did Alai feel the need to have an opinion on everything, even on matters that weren’t his business? 

That prompted 1fm presenter Neomi Ng’ang’a( a very close friend to Nana)  to vent on the blogger who she felt had gone too far.

 Neomi reiterated: “I went to see the family of Nana yesterday, to say that they are devastated would be an understatement, especially now that they have to see macabre photos of Nana making circles on social media amidst heartless updates from strangers. It is all very sad and unfortunate. I wish men like Alai would just be a little considerate or simply stick to their element, politics. Tsk Tsk “

The young Miss Mbuvi was immensely affected by the death of her grandfather, Gideon Kioko Kivanguli. She had maintained a cold silence following the loss, to the extent of worrying her fans.

Mzee Kioko passed on two weeks ago following a short illness. Her death did not only affect his family, Kenyans were equally saddened by the news given that he was the father to the most loved politician.

Cianca Salma Mbuvi was incalculably affected by the loss of her grandfather. The lass vanished from social media and this worried many who were concerned by her wellbeing.

Several texts had been sent to console her but there was no response from her till recently. Salma shared her last moment with her grandpa before he departed.

She had visited Mzee Kioko who was admitted in hospital. Salma was in company of other family members.

 

She caught our eyes and captured our hearts with her dangerously good looks and polished persona but it was her work that reeled as in.
