Just a  while back, the nation was made to believe that Waiguru was a billionaire who bought  a Kes 150 million house in Kitusuru without flinching. It appears that was just a fallacy!

Former embattled Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru, has come out to clear the air over issues that made her lose her job.

In an exclusive interview with Citizen TV’s Hussein Mohamed last night, Waiguru revealed she’s worth about the same amount her Kitusuru home was said be worth.

The ex CS says she’s worth Kes Sh160 million with liabilities that total to Kes 80 million. She further revealed she bought her lavish home under a mortgage plan that was provided to Cabinet Secretaries.

Waiguru downgraded claims her house was worth Kes 150 million saying the figure was lower and that she’s still paying the mortgage.

The ex CS reiterated she didn’t steal NYS money to enrich herself as it was widely purported. She explained she acquired her wealth legally working for the World Bank and Citi Group before joining the government.

We are still grappling with the sudden death of popular gospel artist Diana Chemutai popularly known as “”Chelele” who was found dead at her Kapkwen home on Saturday morning. 

News just in is that a popular artiste and poet who has worked with Ogopa Dejays, Claude Boss has kicked the bucket. Claude who is known for the “Don’t Sell Your Soul to the Devil” EP is said to have disappeared 2 days ago before he was finally found at a City morgue.

Doctors at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) performed a successful surgery to remove the knife that stuck deep in a woman’s skull. The operation was not a walk in the park!

32 year-old Ms Fatuma Ibrahim was all over the news last week after she was stabbed deep in her skull with a knife.

The perpetrator, Mohamed Deeq, who is also her husband, was arraigned before a Wajir court to answer charges of domestic violence.

Doctor at KNH performed a successful surgery a Thursday night to remove the knife out of Ms Ibrahim’s skull.

A young child is battling for his life at Kenyatta National Hospital after his father turned into a monster and reaped open his gut.

Mr. Ayoyi, a Kariobangi resident, was handed dog’s beating after he slit open his son’s stomach following domestic quarrel with the wife.

The boy had gone to his mother’s defense when the dad was threatening to stab the mother. Unfortunately the knife ended in his belly.

The cut was so wide that his intestines spewed out on the floor. The kid was rushed to KNH where he was immediately admitted to ICU ward.

Following the incident, angry mob also descended on Mr. Ayoyi beating sense into him. The psychopath was also admitted at KNH with major injuries.

Why so?? Prezzo paid G Kon a visit a day prior to the KTN interview and it’s believed he ‘coached’ the King of bling how to behave on TV in order to be the talk of the nation.

G Kon has since refuted the claim that he advised Prezzo to act silly and even threw jab at Jaguar. He however had no apologies for Prezzo’s action.

CMB Prezzo hogged all the limelight over the weekend with his antics at the interview.

Whether he was drunk or not is quite debatable but at least he was not sober. His drama however, did not end at the studio. As he was being led out of the studio following his unbecoming manners, the showbiz maestro declined to follow the set down procedures of checking out for him and his crew.

He and his crew refused to alight from their vehicle and instead the rapper flashed out his gun and brandished it at the security officers who had to fall back.

It sure seems to be a year of more drama and the King of bling sure knows how to time and pull off such publicity stunts, only this one was in pretty bad taste. and it adds to the numerous number of times he has flashed his gun in public.

I thought the era of immature politics was over with previous regimes but what transpired in Mombasa proved politicians are still grooming childish behaviors.

Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, and Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, faced off at a public function in Mombasa on Saturday 9th January 2015.

The sole purpose of the event was to issue title deeds to people occupying the controversial Waitiki land in Likoni, Mombasa.

Joho used the opportunity to bash President Uhuru claiming the head of State had intentionally snubbed him going on to invite other governors from the Coast to State house Mombasa.

He said the President was in his county close to two weeks yet he hadn’t communicated to him over his presence in Mombasa.

“Sasa unapata mweshimiwa rais come to this great County, unakaa 16 days the Governor hasn’t spoken to you, ahhh! Mweshimiwa rais, that’s not fair!” Joho bitterly protested.

The Mombasa Governor went on to fire more salvos to the President prompting Sonko to come up with a protective armor to shield Uhuru from Joho’s tantrums.

Sonko fired back at Joho when he took to the podium. He claimed the Mombasa sheriff harassed and humiliated the President who is a symbol of national unity.

When he could no longer tolerate Sonko’s smacking, infuriated Joho stood up to stop the Nairobi Senator and for a moment exchange of blows was inevitable. Sonko urged Joho to allow him to finish talking and the Mombasa Governor did just that and another ugly scenario was avoided.

“I cannot therefore sit back and watch people acting as if they’re more important than a democratically elected President when they are clearly only out to blackmail, embarrass and intimidate the President in public. Of course, people can disagree with the President on policy issues but, why can’t the opposition respect the Office of the Presidency?” Sonko wrote in part justifying his action to hit back at Joho.

Popular gospel artist  Diana chemutai popularly known as “Chelele”  was found dead at her Kapkwen home on the wee hours of Saturday morning. 

 Her death came barely 3 months after the she was said to have attempted suicide at hotel in Nakuru only to be saved by the hotel staff. According to sources her body was found on the veranda with deep stab wounds on her abdomen. 

Police suspect that she was probably murdered elsewhere and her body dumped at her house. 

She has erstwhile been said to have been through trying relationship turmoil and legal tussles with her husband who was arrested some time last year after he was linked to the killing of Eldoret’s Surveyor Eliud Yego who he suspected was having an affair with his wife. 

Her body was taken to Longisa Mortuary as the police investigate the details around her death. 

Famous Kalenjin musician Diana Musila, popularly known as ‘Chelele’ was found dead in her Kapwen home in Bomet. The mystery behind her death is yet to be solved by the authorities. That aside, see the hottest stories we have for you this Monday morning:

Just slightly over two months after KOT (Kenyans On Twitter) dealt with Nigerians the stage looks set for more Kenyan domination of the so-called ‘Giant of Africa’, this time on the karaoke contest, TECNO Own The Stage.

The show is the reason why the hash tag #TECNOOwnTheStage has been trending for some weeks now.

For those who don’t know, TECNO Own The Stage is Africa’s first televised karaoke competition. It is currently taking place in Nigeria and the eventual winner of the contest will head home with $25,000.

Twenty-five thousand dollars (which is about KES2.5million) is a lot of money but it doesn’t end there as the winner will also get to record asong with one of the show’s mentors or judges, which include our own Bien and Anto Neo Soul, and get to go on tour with the superstar.

From the looks of it, one of our own will be returning home with the star prize as out of the six contestants left four are Kenyans.

The show started out a few weeks ago with 15 contestants, including five from our beautiful country. There were also five contestants respectively from Tanzania and Nigeria.

But after eight episodes,of the nine contestants evicted from the show so far, only one has been a Kenyan. And even he (Yubu) was only evicted in last Sunday’s episode.

In fact Pascal, Mary, Sikin and Ramar254 have shown the rest of Africa that not only are we the continent’s number one when it comes to athletics and battling anyone on Twitter, but that we are also the best as far as karaoke contests are concerned.

So there is no better time than now for KOT to unsheathe their swords and take to the social media platform to show their support for our representatives as this weekend’s episode will see our dear Pascal going head-to-head with the only Nigerian remaining in the contest, Shaapera.

There is a reason why Shaapera is the only Nigerian left in the show, and it is not because the judges want someone from the host country left in the contest. She is very good and has been churning out brilliant performances since the show’s commencement.

so also has our darling Pascal and with the loser of the battle likely to head homeat the end of the show now is the time for Kenyans, especially KOT, to show their support for our four representatives in order to ensure that we don’t lose out to this Nigerian (or the equally impressive Nandy from Tanzania) and return home with the star prize.

The shocking tragedy caught the attention of the nation prompting concerned Kenyans to bay for the blood of the perpetrator whom they didn’t even know how he looked like, till now.

32-year-old Fatuma Ibrahim came to public attention after disturbing photos started doing rounds on the social media.

The woman’s psychotic husband stabbed her deep in the cheeks with a kitchen knife.

Her husband, Mohamed Deeq, was arrested by the police following the tragic incident. Mr. Deeq (surely he’s such a dick) was arraigned in a Wajir court before Resident Magistratre Bildad Rongocho where he pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate postponed the case until January 13 as the prosecution requested for more time as they wait for medical report.

Meanwhile Fatuma is recuperating at a Nairobi hospital after undergoing a successful operation to remove the knife on her cheek.

2 men have suffered the brunt of President Uhuru and his Cabinet Secretary’s unannounced visit to the Coastal City of Mombasa.

President Uhuru made an impromptu visit to Kenya Ferries Services (KFS) headquarters in Likoni on Monday and the results of his visit was the sacking of KFS Managing Director, Musa Hassan.

The Board of Director converged following the President’s surprise visit and decided to send Musa packing.

The ex KFS boss had a troubled tenure at the helm following frequent breakdowns of ferries and congestion at the channel.

Following in his boss’ footsteps, Education CS, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, made an impromptu visit to Majaoni Primary School in Shanzu on a Thursday morning.

The headteacher, Welington Mwatsama, couldn’t account for Kes 240,000 given to the school. The fund was meant for infrastructure and maintenance.

On his way out, TSC Director, Ibrahim Rugut, said the headteacher would be demoted to an ordinary teacher and deployed to another school to pave way for investigations.

Matiangi also made unannounced visits to other schools in Mombasa. Has Uhuru’s administration borrowed Magufuli’s tact??

Five teens aged 16-19 died in a horrific road accident at infamous black spot area of Salgaa on the eve of New Year. Details have emerged alleging that a policewoman had a hand in their deaths.

News about the grisly road accident in Salgaa that robbed the lives of Kelvin Kamuru (19), Derrick Mbugua (18), Brian Kariuki (17), Dominic Mwangi (16) and Bill Kamau (16, hit headlines just when Kenyans were celebrating the onset of a new year.

The teen’s deaths didn’t bother many but as time elapsed, the nation started getting concerned about the accident.

The first statement authorities made was that the youth were drunk and speeding at the time when they rammed into a Mbukinya bus while trying to overtake a lorry.

In a new twist of events, details have emerged indicating the car the teens were driving belonged to an administration policewoman based in Njoro.

Police have been criticized for allegedly dragging their feet in investigating the accident because one of their own is involved.

The police said the female AP officer had given her car to a friend after it developed mechanical problems. They however couldn’t explain how it ended up in the hands of the five teens.

The teens’ parents are blaming the police for the accident that robbed them their children saying if the cops were serious with their work the deadly crash could have been avoided.

And just like we regular folks,who don’t boast a huge following or have a huge fan base for whatever is it we do,even Celebrities do have New Year Resolutions too… Their life may appear perfect from the outlook but,just like us,they’re struggling with their own little battles-Battles they wish they’d won,battles they’re struggling to win and battles they wish to overcome.

1. Colonel Mustafa- Find A Day Job

This is the Ogopa Deejays ex-rapper who started his career in the mid 80’s. Way before LL Cool J,Rakim and Puff Daddy even launched theirs. After a brief stint at Ogopa,where he recorded numerous hits with his fellow refugee boy Nasty Thomas,the group going by the name Deux Vultures broke up. Nasty moved on to Dubai to sell cupcakes and Mustafa was left here to fight with Nyota Ndogo among other things. Mustafa’s career,however,died along with KANU and he’s been endlessly struggling to remain afloat and hold on to his past glory for like a decade now. But it’s all been in vain. His new music is stuff you play at Prisons to annoy the convicts. And the last time he had a show,Huddah was still very new to blow jobs. And now,given that his Music career has been declared DEAD and BURIED,Colonel Mustafa has now decided to get a day job in 2016. We’re not sure what job he’s considering but we’re told he hasn’t ruled out working at Nakumatt as a cashier or even signing up as a driver for a leading pharmaceutical company. Either way,good luck Mustafa. You really need the job. I mean, You can’t rely on Monalisa’s proceeds for twenty years.

2. Nonini – Cut Weight 

OK,I’m sure you all saw this one coming. Way before he gained massive fame and notoriety, Nonini was still a skinny boy still trying to find his voice in a bedroom studio in California Estate,Eastlands. And then he blew up. And along the way,even his body blew up. Today, Nonini is the size of a small water tank. He looks like he swallowed his producer and 3 more fans. And in 2016,Mzee Nonini has decided to go back to looking like a human being. Not like am endangered hippo. Nonini has signed up with Comfy Life Gym and Spa in Westlands in a bid to look not just normal but go healthy too. No more bulging tummies for Nonini in 2016. In 2016,the only thing shaking vigorously while Nonini is on stage will be his Bling Bling and not his belly anymore. Good luck,Nakitare. You need it.

3. Vera Sidika – Get A Baby

She may act like she doesn’t care but you won’t believe the plans Miss Vee has for 2016. Vera has decided to get pregnant! And yes,she is serious about it. After all the implants, skin alterations,surgeries,boob jobs and liposuctions,Miss Vee is finally craving for one more thing – a baby. Vera,who deeply admires Kim Kardashian to a point of almost worshiping her, feels like a baby with boost her socialite profile and make her much more appealing to mothers and people who like babies. ‘Vera is serious about getting a baby…’ the source told us. ‘She is enamored by the likes of Kim Kardashian and Zari Hassan and feels like these Socialites got more fame and fortune after getting babies’. ‘The old Vera, ‘the source continues,’ used to think babies were too much work and that babies would hurt her chances of being a superstar… But not anymore. ‘ We’re told that Vera is crazy about North West and Princess Tiffah,Zari’s baby. Willy gave up on Gospel music 5 years ago and he’s been struggling to remain in it just to please the masses and not to attract a backlash. ‘Willy Paul is done with the gospel industry… He said goodbye to it long time ago..’ a source tells us. ‘He feels trapped in the Industry and feels like he’s obliged to remain in it just to keep his old fans and for fear of antagonizing Kenyans… But deep down his heart,Willy Paul is as secular as is Octopizzo.’ We are told that, in 2016,Willy Paul had decided to stop living a lie and,just like Bruce Jenner,come out as a Secular artist and save everyone the speculation. ‘He’s made up his mind… There’s no turning back. He loves God but feels like he’s excel more as a Dancehall superstar not some Church singer.’ Well,karibu kwa Dunia Willy Paul. Start with a sex tape maybe. It’d be fun to watch. Oh, and after you’re done with that ka-Ethiopian chick,mind passing her over? Secular style? Haha.

5. Larry Madowo – Embrace Humility

This is Larry’s year of finally discovering that the World does not rotate around his rotatable head and simply sit back and accept that he’s not the reason we all wake up on the morning. Larry has,for years now,lived in an imaginary bubble that tells him that Kenya exists around him and that’s he’s Kenya’s equivalent of Aretha Franklin. Larry believes he’s the heart and soul of Kenya’s media as a whole and has lived such a huge lie for so many years that he’s finally decided to wake up and realize that he’s just another TV guy that can be sacked or replaced or moved to Middle Eats anytime and life will go on as normal. Thus,2016 is Larry’s great year of humility. We’re told he’s even hired expert ‘Humilants’ – don’t ask me who those are-to help him reach out to his inner humility and just accept that the Sun does not set in his armpits. It’ll be a tough thing to do,we are told. But Larry has no choice. Even Adele,the Conqueror of the World,has a little modesty.

6. Victoria Kimani – Come Back Home

Miss Kimani is that little Kenyan girl who,after being signed a leading Naija Record Label,left the Country all together and settled in Lagos, sleeping in the studio’s servant quarters. Christmas was lit for most of us that traveled to the village. For me, Christmas is all about real people meeting real people, talking about real issues. I left Nairobi for Mathioya, a little commune in the heart of Murang’a on December 23rd.

Sorry I digressed, I had thought of buying my sister a phone like mine, powerful, sleek, chic, and not overly big. Just the right phone for someone who fancies small things.  My budget  was about 10,000 anyway, not much to give to your sister anyway and the perks that came with it were simply worth the money, an F2 aperture on the camera ensuring that all my photos had just the right light and clarity that was enhanced by the 8 megapixels on the camera. Don’t get me started on the wondrous selfie camera because that’s a story that we we shall have to talk about soon.

Notorious City County askari who is responsible for the deaths of hawkers has been napped after Sonko beckoned action from authorities with a threat.

Nairobi Senator had given authorities a 24 hour ultimatum to arrest and prosecute killer kanjos who were committing atrocities in the city and walked scot free.

The police sprang into action following Sonko’s threat and arrested the main ring leader of the brutal murder of hawkers.

The legislator revealed CID officers are now pursuing three; Alfred Marenya Ogesi alias Brown, Ambani Akasi aka Wasiwasi and Julius Ochieng.

Sonko is offering a Kes 100,000 to anyone who will provide information leading to the arrest of the above mentioned persons.
