When it comes to a list of the most successful DJs and the ones who have stood the test of time, DJ Pinye’s name fits comfortably among the legends.

The DJ has been around the many revolutions of Kenya’s showbiz sector and has now decided to quit the active role and instead focus on mentoring new talent.

Last weekend he was celebrating his 45th birthday and there was good reason for cheer as it also happened to be some sort of retirement party in an event termed Grown and sexy.

In attendance was DJ Pinye’s father and when the aged man got to the dance floor to groove to his sons’s mixes, Pinye could not hold back the tears as he was moved by emotion. Here are the photos of the touching moment;

NTV’s Mark Masai Lands Dennis Itumbi In Trouble With KOT

Director of Digital Communication in the Office of the President has been under siege from the dreaded KOT since last night!

Mark Masai invited Dennis Itumbi to Press Pass to shed light on the clampdown of bloggers and journalists by the government.

Press Pass was on fire last night as Kenyans on Twitter put Itumbi to task to explain why the state was issuing summons and arresting keyboard warriors.

Ex NTV journalist, Yassin Juma, who was arrested for ‘misuse of telecommunications device’ was also a guest on Press Pass.

Dennis Itumbi’s explanation in regard to bloggers arrests was what made KOT get irritated; he said the moment an opinion is published it ceases to enjoy protection.

The reactions on twitter were an expression of KOT’s dissatisfaction and objection of Itumbi’s justification for the arrests and summons.

Dennis Itumbi: When an opinion is published it ceases enjoying absolute protection #PressPass

Cliff Ochomo: So, in short, which opinion does the govt want from bloggers? To join govt choir? Someone tell me please. #PressPass

David mpole: Power comes with responsibility. #Presspass Bloggers should know that.

The Makodingo: There should never be a law that regulates opinion. As long as you make it clear it’s your opinion, no law should ever stop you #PressPass

The Makodingo: Gov’t has no business hounding online bloggers 4 the preposterous “crime” of “misusing” a communication gadget. What’s that even? #PressPass

Harrison ole Mareka: Itumbi was a blogger, now he is a mboga #PressPass

Augustinho Achando: #PressPass Freedom of opinion is absolute Mr @OleItumbi. Be smart in your comments and allegations

Gathara: #PressPass If, as @OleItumbi asserts, bloggers are opinion writers, what law exists to regulate opinions or expressions thereof? @MarkMasai

bonney tunya: A journalist should not be bashed for fair comment, he/she is entitled to it #PressPass

Kenya West: If true bloggers have been unlawful, how comes despite record 13 bloggers having been arrested last 4 weeks NONE has been charged #PressPass

Mr. B: Kwanza, Jubilee govt cannot tell the difference between a social media user, blogger & journalist #Presspass

Muganda Clay:Nyef, nyef, nyef, regulating bloggers, fact-checking: what if you are (a) satirical blogger(s) such as @TheOnion ? #PressPass

Meet The First Female Kenyan Air Force Helicopter Pilot (Photos)

In the age of women empowerment it is quite a shame that through all the years Kenya has never had a female helicopter pilot in the Kenya Air Force Ranks.

Well, at least until now. Alice Moraa has taken up that honor and graduated from her training with the revered training academy Starlite International Aviation Training Academy.

The ceremony was overseen by their commanding officer Lt Col Farah. Here are the photos of the officer, the only female trainee in her class, 2nd Lt Alice Moraa at the ceremony

Here Is How The President Uhuru Kenyatta Looks With A Tattoo (Photo)

Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy maybe criticized for many things but certainly not being cool and hip.

Whether it is in their fashion, choice of language or their easy charm, there is always the youthful verve and swag especially with the president. This has led to a number of memes, jokes and satires of whatever kind to go around and the recent is equally hilarious.

Someone has done a photo of the president with him having a tattoo on his hand and it actually looks cool. This is the photo

Badass President! President Uhuru Brandishes A Lethal Machine Gun (Photos)

Am bringing the war to you! The head of state has sent a strong signal to enemies of the state!

President Uhuru touched down at JKIA last Sunday from his trip to Addis Ababa for AU Summit where he called for a mass walkout of African States from the ICC.

The President’s first assignment upon jetting back was to equip the state’s security apparatus with state-of-the-art war machines.

Kenya imported Armored Personnel Carriers for the Kenya Police Service to enable them increase their mobility and protective gear when deployed in volatile areas.

The commander in chief made his way to the GSU headquarters to commission the armored personnel carriers.

Unye didn’t just wave the flag to signal the launch of the vehicles, he boarded one of them and took on the heavy machine gun mounted at the top of the vehicle and wielded the deadly machine gun as if warning bad guys their days were numbered.

Why Was Jaguar Conspicuously Missing at the SportPesa Festival? We Tell You Why

The 2016 Sportpesa Festival was in full gear, with over 30 of Kenya’s finest artists in performance. There was lots of social games to be played including Bubble foota, Foosball, Bungee run, Rock climbing, Play station 4, Inflatable football pitch, Target paintball, Selfie zones, Rap cypher battles and much more!

However, among the 30 top Kenyan artist, one big name, perhaps the biggest Kenyan performer, was not at the festival. In fact, there was tittle tattle that the organizers of the event, SportPesa, could not afford Jaguar!

Close sources intimate that a section of the artists seated backstage were heard asking where Jaguar was and when he never appeared when all artists were settled, they thought the organizers kept him as a surprise guest.

When Ghafla contacted Jaguar’s producer and manager, Philip Makanda, he said the artist was never contacted by the organizers to attend the 2nd anniversary of SportPesa’s existence in Kenya.

Instead, Jaguar was at Pumwani Secondary School where his foundation, Jaguar Youth Empowerment Foundation, was awarding the winning soccer teams in the Wakulima Market Youth Football Tournament.

Below are images from that event;

Oh How Gentlemanly! Look At What Africa’s Richest Man Did To Margaret Kenyatta

There is no doubt that Kenya’s First Lady Margaret Kenyatta really treasures her project Beyond Zero campaign.

Thus when someone offers a truly noble gesture even when he/she does not necessarily have to, it means pretty much to he. This is what Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote decided to do in a gesture that saw him become the second largest donor to the campaign according to a report that the First Lady released.

Aliko Dangote donated three mobile clinics that saw him come second only to Tullow Oil. The beyond zero campaign seeks to reduce Maternal deaths that happen as a result of poor access to health facilities.

This Isn’t A Hoax! Mike Sonko Scores Himself Two Hot Eritrean Babes. Here Is The Evidence (Photos)

I know everything about Eritrea now sounds like another humorous deception but this is real, Sonko was seen in company of two sizzling hot Eritrean mommies.

Kenyan men were planning to make a trip to Eritrea to make a killing but news from Asmara confirmed the forced polygamy thing was only but a hoax.

Dreams were shattered by official confirmation from Eritrean government but not everyone lost hope in the pursuit of Eritrean babes.

Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, did even travel to Asmara but he somehow managed to attract Eritrean ladies to ‘chase after him.’

Two hot Eritrean chicks paid Sonko a courtesy call at his KICC office and for a moment Mtu Wa Watu didn’t know whether to rescue them or…

“I thought this #‎Eritrea trend was a joke until today when I got a courtesy call from two ladies from Eritrea but I was a bit confused niwa rescue ama itakuwa aje? Wangekuwa Wakenya making decision could have been easier coz bado ingekuwa ni kura..Nani ana form nifanye connections?” Wrote Sonko.

The chokoraa who was sniffing glue was dumbfounded by Shaniqwa’s beauty and he decided to hit on her.

Another Fast Food Restaurant Forced To Apologize For T-shirts Demeaning The Famous Saba Saba Rally

Another Nairobi fast food outlet has found itself under increasing pressure and condemnation from Kenyans after its promotional message was found to be in bad taste and even demeaning of one of Kenya’s most important days.

The management of Big Square restaurant which has several outlets in Kenya dealing in fast food, wine and beer had asked its staff to put on T-shirts with bore the message that “I was not there, Saba Saba, I was at Big Square,” While the management says they meant a different Saba Saba one in which they had a company function, the general public fell the allusion to the venerated Saba Saba day which was one of the highlights of the multiparty struggle was pretty too much hence the vitriol directed towards the company.

This led to the company issuing an apology through its manager Morne Deetlefs. The Manager took to Twitter to issue the following in a series of tweets;

“Poleni sana, I deeply apologize for the offence caused by our actions and any perceived insensitivity,” Deetlefs’ message read.

“Yesterday a photo of a Big Square branded t-shirt was posted on Twitter. The message on the t-shirt was in reference to the 2014 rally held in Nairobi. Our intention was never to make light of a painful day in Kenya’s history. We have taken the lesson from this incident to heart and have withdrawn all t-shirts with immediate effect,” he added.

“Big Square is a business that is proudly Kenyan, We do not take the sacrifices made by our fellow patriots for granted,”

This Means War! The Formidable Armored Vehicles Kenya Elite Police Force Has Acquired (Photos)

The Kenya Police Force has suddenly come to age apparently.

One of the major factors that has seen criticism being levelled against Kenya’s security forces has been their lack of facilities especially vehicles to promptly and effectively combat modern crime especially Terrorism.

In the wake of recent Lamu attacks and other acts of terror in far flung coastal regions, the government finally seems to have gotten its act together with the latest arrival of military vehicles. Revealing their latest gear, the Recce squad has announced what they believe will surely help especially in the hot spot that Lamu has become.

‘This Woman Is Poison!’ Vexed Kenyans Push Citizen TV To Fire Bi. Mswafari

It seems that a considerable number of people want Citizen TV’s homely guest Bi Mswafari booted out. And they have started an online petition to see the famous guest chased out of the Dennis-Pritt Road based TV station.

Reason being that they feel like Bi Mswafari is the ‘flag bearer for male chauvinism in Kenya’ and that her back-dated ideas on marriage are like ‘poison to our children’.

Part of the petition reads:

” This woman is the worst person to preach empowerment to our children. Empowerment is not only for the girl child. A boy child should also be empowered so as no to feel inferior when in the presence of the modern day woman. What we need to realize is that there are houses in this day and age where the women have taken up male roles. Because society is fluid like that. Don’t let someone like Bi Mswafari lie to you that everything is as it was 30 years ago.

How do you condone such a woman talking to your girl child about living her life to please her husband? After watching this why do you pay school fees for that particular girl?  Why not just keep her at home and show her how to please a husband at home. It will save you school fees and prevent her from calling herself a modern day woman or as Bi Mswafari calls them, ‘Wasomi’. What did wasomi ever do to this woman? Do they look down on her? Does she even have a daughter? I will fly off the bat here and speculate that I don’t think she has a daughter. I also think she hates her daughter inlaw if she has one.
Even my mum disagrees with her view point.
Either citizen T.V should get this woman out of our living room and off our screens (very unlikely so I’ll hold up on the forms ) or balance her obvious bile with a humanitarian person in the panel! Cera Njagi anyone?

We are saying no to slavery!

There are those who agree with the creator of the petition with comments such as these flooding the comment section:

-Thank you…. I’ve been saying the exact same thing! The sight or mention of her contorts my stomach! It makes me boil.. I listened to her once and was like really? My own mum was like really? I’m unable to can with this woman. I support this petition

-I am a modern day woman thanks to my parents who ensured that I got educated, I have a master’s degree so I am “Msomi”. I stopped watching Citizen because I can’t stand that woman being in my living room and giving crappy advice, my husband hates her too and thinks she is a retrograde!

There is more to marriage than removing a man’s coat or acting like his slave, my husband would never allow me to do such things because he knows it would affect my self esteem which he holds dear and that’s love…..people have different ways of expressing love!

My husband and I will sign that petition….my dad and mum will sign it as well… so where is it.

-I agree with you, this lady is one sided (and a bit in the past too), and BTW am a guy. It is also true that some ladies these days are lazy and tend to think that the only fundamental they bring to the marriage table is sex, and from that you should feed and provide for them like a pet. On the other hand, there are men who do not deserve to have a submissive wife. This is a issue that cannot be discussed in a single television show or in a single article like this. Ultimately, (although I am single and not experienced on matters of marriage), I think a happy and successful marriage cannot be defined in any number of words, except to say that it starts where two people mutually care for each other so much that the other person’s happiness is more important than one’s own happiness. But in this selfish generation, where love is more commercial than anything else, and trust is only as real as a unicorn, I wonder whether such a relationship based on mutual care and affection is possible.

While others were quick to slam her for the article:

  • i dont see any sensible point in your article…just mere prattle. Reason why Bi.Safari is invited and paid to host that show is because she comes from a community that commands a high caliber of moral standards. That is something that civil people(i doubt you are one) admire alot,a society governed by ratinal norms and values that vet out conflict.Am disgusted by your elevated level of egocentrism…

  • A piece of rubbish. You waste your 5 hours writing this piece?

  • what now??..you think we are all equal now.. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.Eph 5:22-33.. you think those who wrote that were drank.. if you think we equal pick up a tab on a date n pay the bill n give a man a break.. pay those fuckin bills .. if nat sit your fuckin’ ass down n cook for that man..

Sad: Size 8 Reveals Why She Didn’t Want a C-Section Birth And Why She Didn’t Immediately Celebrate the Birth of Her Daughter

Size 8 gave birth late last November to a bouncing baby girl, Ladasha Belle. So much happened during her delivery period that one can’t help but wonder how she triumphed over her tribulations.

Last Friday night, gospel songbird, Size 8, had a date with the beautiful Lillian Muli on Citizen TV’s ‘One On One’.

The ‘Afadhali Yesu’ hit maker shed light on what transpired the day she gave birth to her daughter… It’s painful for any mother to undergo what befell Size 8.

She told Lillian she wanted to deliver her baby through the normal way but her pregnancy had complications and she was forced to deliver through cesarean section.

Size 8 revealed her baby’s umbilical cord had twined around her baby’s neck therefore she couldn’t have normal delivery.

Doctors successfully operated on her to deliver her daughter but then again bad news struck the singer hours after going under the knife.

Size 8 was told her mother had passed on. Her mother who was suffering from kidney disease succumbed hours after she gave birth to baby Belle.

The gospel singer says she didn’t know whether to celebrate her baby’s birth or mourn her mother’s death.

“It was a whole lot of drama. I wanted to give birth normally nkaambiwa CS mtoi ametoka it was an emergency, and then mtoto underweight then immediately after I have gotten through all that then am told my mum had died. I couldn’t mourn my mum, I couldn’t be happy for my baby. Let me just be honest, I went blank. I went blank because I didn’t know if I mourn my mum that means I am not happy for my baby. If am happy for my baby I wouldn’t mourn my mom. So it’s like am choosing one person and taking the other one… so I was blank.” Revealed Size 8.

Size 8 didn’t attend her mother’s burial as she was still nursing surgery wound plus her baby was underweight, she needed round the clock attention.

He is many things, effervescent, controversial and even brilliant to some but badass is not one of the names used to describe Larry Madowo.

But Boniface Mwangi recently shared a photo taken back in the day with ‘The Trend’ host that showed another side of Larry.

Larry is seen in the pic below along with some friends showed their ‘bad’ side by wielding guns.

GHAFLA EXPLORES: Top 10 Campuses In Kenya That Have The ‘Thirstiest’ Guys

There are plenty of thirsty guys in campus. Being a little thirsty is okay but being too thirsty is a bad thing. When you are too thirsty, you end up tolerating high levels of female bullshit in order to just squeeze in the notch. Whatever ‘upuzi’ a chic throws at you, you just tolerate with the hopes that by doing so, you might bang her eventually. When you are too thirsty, you’ll end up in the ‘friendzone’ or ‘creepy zone’ most of the time.

At the same time, there is a downside of not having any thirst. When you don’t desire sex enough to motivate you to put in the required effor t, you won’t get laid a lot. In that case, your thirst levels should be at an optimum level (enough to make you persistent with women while not scaring them off at the same time). Two spoons of thirst in your cup of game lead to a life of sexual fulfillment but five spoons lead to disaster

So which are the campuses with the thirstiest guys in Kenya? Let’s explore some of them.

1.)UON: The overall winner is UON because apparently, these guys are incapable of leaving any first place postion for the rest of us little people. Seriously, how many ladies have you heard saying, “Chali yangu ako UON” yet they are not aware that they are just side chics. UON guys are dangerously aggressive. They are also the kings of club-hopping. Plus, your girlfriend is also likely to cheat if she’s studying at this uni than in any other.

2) JKUAT: Isn’t it obvious? A woman’s body is a temple and no campus understands this more than Juja Boys. JKUAT fellas are notoriously promiscuous and for good reason. First is the actual shortage of female comrades. There’s a demographic imbalance of more able-bodied men than young, hot women. Second, is that between rounds of impossible assignments and borderline tramautic exams, sex and weed are the only ways to ease the tension. We’ll give them a pass

jkuattt

3). KU: I studied at KU so I’ve seen the thirst first hand. During my first and second years, I was thirsty as f*ck too.But I learned to tame it. Maybe we can blame in on the heat. There’s no heat like KU heat. Plus the girls are fine and many. Every turn you make, you see some fine ass and protruding butt.

4.) Egerton: It is rumored that Egerton is the largest market for Vaseline. Sio mimi nimesema. I just heard it somewhere.

5.) Catholic University of East Africa: This one is supposed to have a fairly conservative and religious culture but Catholic University has earned a steamy reputation as one of the horniest campuses out there

6 ) Pwani Univeristy: Some say that coasto guys are too slow and don’t live healthy lifestyles but guys at Pwani University seem to take health a bit too seriously. Well, sexual health I mean.

7.) Strathmore University: If you are looking for all kinds of porn (lesbian, squirting, grandma etc), hit up a Strathmore guy. He probably has about 100GB worth of erotica material on his laptop.

8 ) USIU: Chics here are total divas with crazy attitudes because they get so much male attention from their male comrades. For every USIU girl that you reject for being unattractive or bitchy, there will be a line of men behind you trying to win her over. Every time you “punish” a USIU girl by rejecting her after she displays bad behavior, she will not have to wait long until a classmate of hers wants to give it his all for a chance at sex with her.

9.) Maseno: In Kisumu clubs, sausage fests of three Maseno guys for every girl are common. Another bit of reality here is that Maseno guys ‘hapana tambua looks’. Kiatu women to get as much attention from men as hot chics

10) Maasai Mara University: Considering that this university is located in the wild, it makes sense that guys want to go wild too. Plus the students aren’t so many so the options are limited.

Shaffie Weru, Kristoff, P-Unit’s Gabu and Yvonne Darq Allegedly Thrown out Of an Event after Kristoff Beat the Living Daylights out Of Popular Party Animal

He does not seem like one to fight but ‘Dandia’ hit maker Kristoff turnt up on a few people during a huge event hosted by local betting company.

He approached one publicist by the name Wyclef Mitch and punched him square in the face for allegedly rumor mongering.

Mitch says that Kristoff approached him as he was sitting with his longtime friend Yvonne Darq and that’s when Kristoff struck him.

“Kristoff said I was spreading rumors that he was smashing Yvonne. Yvonne and I have been close for two years so I was sitting with Yvonne when Kristoff came, firing these accusations.” It was then that Kristoff struck Mitch and when Mitch stood up Kristoff lunged at him again, hitting him.

{youtube}bKZcErGwT9g{/youtube}

Mitch speaks out on his fight with Kristoff

It took the intervention of DJ Exclusive and Big Ted to stop the fight but Kristoff was not done yet, he then went straight for DJ Exclusive and they got into a heated fight forcing the bouncers to intervene and throw out Gabu , Kristoff , Yvonne Darq and even Shaffie Weru out of the event.

Mitch however remained at the event as he was working with Mpasho’s photographer Vincent Omondi at the event.

DJ Exclusive has however come out to deny fighting with Kristoff laughing of the accusations before saying he didn’t fight with anyone.

He however backed up Mitch’s claims and said that Kristoff beat Mitch after accusing him of rumor mongering .

“I Had My Cheating Husband and His Mpango Wa Kando Carjacked and Beaten Up” Scorned Woman Speaks Out

They say that ‘Hell knows no fury like a woman scorned’ and this woman was certainly furious after her husband scorned her by taking another woman.

And her fury had the magnitude of hurricane Katrina and the Tri-State Tornado combined ,leading her to make  a rash and rather deranged decision.

Through mysecrtets.co.ke, a Kenyan woman confesses to having her philandering husband carjacked and beaten up by thugs along with his mpango wa Kando as the duo was leaving popular club 1824.

On reaching home, obviously shaken and injured, the husband decided to lie and say that he had been involved in an accidents. This incident left her husband nursing his injuries for two weeks much to the glee of his wife.

The Octopizzo Stupidity! How Fame,Money And Pride Has Changed The Number Nane Rapper. Shame!

The last time I wrote a slanderous article about Octopizzo, the WHOLE country read it. And I mean, the whole muthafuckin’ Country. If you didn’t read it,you need to confirm your nationality. And here we are again,3 beautiful years later…

Back then,he was the hottest thing on the music scene. He was the brightest rap star. He was the easiest target of attack. He was locked in all of these explosive rap feuds. He was a threat to many a Kenyan rapper. He was inspiring many young men nationally. He’d started having a serious, almost cultist following. He had the hardest, rawest, wittiest and most brilliant bars. He was the talk of town. Not anymore.

Last weekend,at some not-so-glamorous Award Ceremony, held at the Prestige Plaza, egocentric Kibera-bred Rapper Octopizzo won the Award for ‘Comeback Artist of the Year’. And then he went on a childish tirade, both online and offline, disparaging the Awards, downplaying his own win, humiliating the event organizers and descending into one of those Kanye West-esque pontifical rants, claiming that the Award was misplaced, claiming he never really went anywhere to deserve a ‘Comeback Award’ and going on and on about his imagined contribution to the state of Hip Hop in Kenya.

His infantile reaction to the Award was a towering pillar of arrogance, haughtiness and unbridled mannerlessness.

Instead of humbly accepting the Award,it’s inconsistencies notwithstanding,Octopizzo trashed it and poo-pooed it. He declined an honor. He bit a hand that was feeding him and took to Social Media to paint the Bingwa Award organizers as buffoons and ignorant blokes.

He channeled his inner Mr. West and needlessly, lampooned the very entity that had sought to Award him, thus plunging them into confusion and even deciding to declare his own winner of the particular category; Wahu.

Admittedly, the whole Bingwa Awards ceremony was a sick joke. The event itself was pure recklessness and the manner in which the Awards were dished out was as haphazard as they come. It lacked the class and finesse typically exhibited by more established Award shows. But still, that wasn’t reason enough to trash and spit on their faces.

Octopizzo,in his argument, claimed that he’d been around for as long as he (and his fans) could remember and there was no way he had left the Industry and therefore, the Award was misplaced.

But even before things got this far,had Octopizzo heard of the Awards before? Hadn’t he heard that he was a nominee? Assuming he had,why didn’t he take time call the organizers in good time and ask them to kindly expunge his name from the nominees list? Did he have to wait until he’d won the Award to suddenly jump at the opportunity to sound off at the organizers and score some quick, petty victory for himself?

Every Awards management usually takes the time to alert a Nominee that they have been nominated in some particular category. Either through email or SMS. And,hoping that Octo was alerted as well, why didn’t he DECLINE the nomination in good time? And save himself and everyone else the nonsense?

Also, the fact that anyone even considered nominating Octopizzo in that list says alot about Octopizzo’s presence in music for the last couple years. Octopizzo wants us to believe that he has been actively involved in music non-stop while everyone else has other ideas.

The fact that anyone considered you a ‘Comeback Artist’ means that you MUST have fallen off the radar, gone under, quit the business and paused musical activities and now you’re back. But if Octopizzo INSISTS that he had been around for all this long, then what has he been doing? What has he been releasing? Can anyone name a recent Octopizzo song off the top of their minds? What video has he done lately? What solo project has he been in? What Octopizzo song is currently ruling the airwaves? Who has been buzzing about Octopizzo of late? What headlines have we seen on Octopizzo lately? NONE!

In fact, the ONLY reason Octo didn’t deserve the Award is actually because he is actually YET to make a comeback. He’s still lost. Still in the shadows. Still silent. Still gone. Still inactive. Still dead.

He claims to have been around all this time… Around where? Doing what? With who? With that stunted upstart Cece Sagini girl? Dude, even that collabo was a train wreck!

Instead of quietly accepting the Award and thanking God that people actually still Award him, given his recent losses and massive creative erosion,Octopizzo decided to DECLINE an honor. Hoping to emerge the bigger man. But man, what a loss.

12654247_466403366899339_2090806407177072327_n.jpg

A screenshot from Octopizzo’s Facebook Page

He then went on to remind us if that Ivo Ivo song that he did pre-Jubilee Government as if anyone even cares anymore. To Octopizzo,Ivo Ivo is some kind of classic by which all Kenyan music should be measured and gauged. To him,Ivo Ivo is like Prince’s Purple Rain,Michael Bolton’s When A Man Loves A Woman,50 Cent’s In Da Club,Aretha Franklin’s Natural Woman,Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You or Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World.

He couldn’t be more deluded. The last time Octopizzo had an honest hit song on radio was way back in 2014. Back then,he was popping. He was the sh*t. He was happening. He was making waves. He was calling the shots.

And then he fell off. And fell off hard. He started making imitation music. He adopted an accent. Thought he could rap in English and started making long, undocumented European sojourns.

The gritty Octopizzo was gone. He mellowed and went full commercial. He also started dressing corny, nigga out here looking like a High School Musical. The gangster image he had was now gone. He was no longer the ruthless ghetto rhyme boy. He went all Ariana Grande on us… And,along the way, even forgot he was ever a rapper.

He entangled himself with all manner of activist movements, started aligning himself with the plight of refugees, doing shows in Refugee camps and spending days in locked meetings with UNCHR honchos. He evolved… Morphed from a rapper to an environmental activist, moved from Big Daddy Kane to Natalya Estemirova.

And along the way, even the skill was gone. The creativity was stifled, the music output was massively eroded and the charm was killed.

Thus,if there was someone who deserved a comeback it’s Octopizzo. But did he deserve an Award? For coming back? No! Why? He’s still NOT YET BACK.

This man hasn’t made any new release. He hasn’t dropped a new jam. He doesn’t have a number one video currently. He isn’t the current talk of town. We aren’t currently jamming to his song in the clubs. And he’s not been on the front page of any major publication or magazine.

So,did he even deserve the Award? Hell no! Not even Wahu, his idiotic choice for the Award, deserved it.

Instead of rushing to blast the organizers, jeering at them and ridiculing them, even rebuffing the Award, Octo should’ve taken the safer route ; Accept the Award, however ridiculous it is,make a little acceptance speech, make a little joke over how surprised he was that he won that particular award and then walk his proud skinny ass down the podium and shut the hell up.

Raising drama was uncalled for. Acting all moody and furious was stupid. And asserting his status and attempting to remind us of his waning relevance was pure garbage.

Even his own fans on Facebook shut him down, called him out for his sudden arrogance, asked him to turn down the volume of his pirde and told him off for the way he stupidly conducted himself after the Award. His own fans!

But this is a different Octopizzo. One who is all of a sudden bold and confident. One who has since left the gutters and trenches. One who has since afford a better life and settled down. One who has started making money and making numerous European travels. One who has the honor of being appointed into some NGO boards. One who feels smarter, bolder, wealthier and more powerful.

He’s not the mild Octo anymore. But a different, ferocious breed whose been corrupted and changed by the power of the Almighty Dollar.

An Octopizzo who fell off years ago. But still thinks he’s relevant, still thinks he’s the shit, still thinks he schooled us all and still thinks he matters.

What a waste of what was once a brilliant rap star.

Well… Have several seats,Mista Number Nane.

You ain’t what you think you still are. And as for that Award, you didn’t deserve it,I agree. Because YOU HAVEN’T YET MADE A COMEBACK in the first place.

Good luck in your UN-Habitat endeavors. And better luck bagging the Nobel Award for Peace. Oh please….Mr. Wangari Maathai. LOL.

‘Tuheshimiane’ Nameless Goes In On Octopizzo After He Supposedly Dissed Wahu

Ndakwira…the entertainment scene is heating up.

Octopizzo recently wrote this after his Bingwa Award win “ Thanks for #‎BingwaAwards for the Award last Night, unfortunately I won’t take the award of “ComeBack Artist Of The Year” I never went anywhere,I’ve been here since my 1st hit single OnTop,I put in more work than any artist of my Genre ,unless you are awarding me for coming back from my Europe tour then it doesn’t make sense ,I never understand awards in this Country,I’d rather you acknowledge & Respect my work than award me & nominating me for a “comeback” Award which was such a joke,so if you don’t mind plizz give my award to Wahu who was in the same category.” He wrote before adding “Next time you nominate me please make sure you do a background check of my catalogue; The Quality of Hip hop music when it comes to Audio & video that I’ve brought to this industry since I stepped in. You can’t compare to any not even close,All in all I wish you the best and congrats to the “Winners” last night,& we still have along way to go as far as awards are concerned.”

His suggestion that the award be given to Wahu has rubbed Nameless the wrong way and he rushed to social media to defend his wife after the said assault to her good name.

“ Haiya…@wahukagwi ebu check this guy out. He says he is too big to receive this award! He even recommended that it be given to you!! Bro, let me give you advice….Appreciate and receive these awards that you win now, because there can come a time in your career that you don’t even get noticed or nominated. But I am sure you too big to receive advice , ama? Lakini seriously, you belittle the award then you recommend it to be given to Wahu?? Tuheshimiane… humble yourself before life humbles you. “

There are those who felt that Nameless knee-jerk reaction to Octopizzo’s statement was unwarranted as Octopizzo was not malicious in any way when mentioning Wahu.

June Tunu wrote “First, I don’t think @octopizzo said Wahu apewe the “award” in bad faith or out of disrespect or pride or whatever. Then let’s go back to basics. “Comeback” is simply a return to a former higher rank, popularity or position etc. @octopizzo has BEEN around, he’s really not disappeared on us. I don’t remember him taking any long breaks from the industry. @wahukagwi has been around but we all know she’s been taking little breaks since she’s a mommy and a businesswoman (Mad Respect!). Like the hits don’t drop as regularly as they used to, you know. But I think “Comeback Awards” shouldn’t be for artists who take let’s say 1 year or 6 month breaks. The awards (category) should be for people who’ve been missing in action for a long long time and are back with big hits. For example, if PiliPili dropped a hit today he’d make a great Comeback Award Nominee. So truth be told, @octopizzo & @wahukagwi aren’t the Bingwa “Comeback” Artists. Somebody somewhere would have fitted in the category better. #my2cents #iLoveKenyanMusic 🙂

Others however like Jayden Frank Njogu felt that Nameless was right in ‘checking’ Octopizzo  “ Huyu jamaa @octopizzo ako na kiburi sana ….hajui fame yake ilikua kama mshuto …haiku last for long …..and thats why he was given that award #comeback” he wrote.

Here are more reactions to Nameless’ unforgettable rant:

Kwachwillys: You over reacting Mr. @namelesskenya and @octopizzo much love brother.

gitegikimotho@namelesskenya: i really admire how u fight for bae….bt @octopizzo knows more than to step on a legends toes lets see him under positive light and address the issue of absurd awards in kenya

wyclefbwaaza: Hahaha @namelesskenya Rlaaaax. Recommending to @wahukagwi doesn’t mean disrespect. Bt she has been away for a while. She is making ATRUE COMEBACK N THAS REAL. @octopizzo May be right.

scarteljara@namelesskenya: you are taking too far bro…………. @octopizzo never dissed your wife……… Soma statement uelewe

Even After He Allegedly Called Off His Engagement with Sally Mbilu, This Is Why Willis Raburu Is Still Winning

Word on the streets of Nairobi is that towering TV personality Willis Raburu has called off his engagement with his slinky lover Sally Mbilu.

The two love birds got publicly engaged about two years ago when Willis Raburu got down on one knee with a gleaming Tanzanite ring that cost about 100 Kshs.

Despite his alleged break-up Willis seems to be doing quite well as he was recently crowned the Bingwa Showbiz personality of the year.

An upbeat Willis posted this:

I’d like to say a big thank you to you all for voting for me and for believing in me, for accepting me the way I am, for agreeing and disagreeing with me; yol rock people! I am honored, and humbled to win this and i promise to keep being me. Most importantly I wanna say…”..but by His grace I am who I am” I am truly nothing without God. Remember successful people look like you. Live. Laugh .Love.

The bumfull socialite uploaded a video showing off her state-of-the-art mansion which had well-decorated spacious rooms.

Not Again! Fake Doctor Mugo Wa Wairimu Attacked After Doing This To His Daughter Over The Past Weekend

Mugo Wa Wairimu is back on the headlines for all the wrong reasons AGAIN!

Last week, the controversial ‘doctor’ was dominating headlines on local news outlets after he came forth to disclose he was being pressured to vie for a parliamentary seat.

Mugo Wa Wairimu says he wants to succeed the incumbent Roysambu MP whom he accuses of being ‘dormant’ in parliament.

Angry Kenyans jumped on Mugo’s neck over the past weekend for what the quack did to his own daughter.

Mugo posted a picture of him and his 1-year-old daughter at a pub. There was a glass of presumably liquor in front of them.

Mugo’s decision to take his one year old daughter to a drinking den is what annoyed Kenyans who found his behavior sickening.

Trolls followed the photo Mugo uploaded with some even hinting the ‘doctor’ wanted to sedate her own daughter with liquor and do to her what he was caught on camera doing to his female patients.

Meet The BuruBuru Lady Behind Mike Sonko’s Crazy Haircuts (Photos)

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has a knack for expressing his quirky nature with crazy haircuts but have you ever sat and wondered who’s the barber behind the flamboyant hair cuts?

Glittering bling bling, customized phones and vehicles, cool outfits, swagger and crazy haircuts, these are some of the traits that define Sonko.

The Nairobi Senator was the first legislator who broke the norms of Parliament when he attended sessions clad in torn jeans, sunglasses, studs and of course a ‘screaming’ haircut.

And it’s a BuruBuru female barber who is responsible for the crazy haircuts with bold colors on Sonko’s head.

The Nairobi Senator unveiled his barber as he praised her for her entrepreneurial spirit. Sonko says the lady started in Mathare but has since moved to a nice barbershop in Buruburu with a workforce of 5.

“Yesterday I passed by my long time Kinyozi guy. I had gone for a car wash but I ended up getting a haircut. While she was at it, she started giving me stories of how she started up and how the business has been since. She started in Mathare North in a small mabati shop and grew to where she is today. She remembers a day when she only shaved one kid for 10 bob having opened work at 7 Am and closed at 9 Pm. Today, she has hired 5 other young people and continues to mentor others in a very great but humble way. One thing for sure, when you step in her shop, you cannot know she is the boss.” Sonko heaped praise on his barber.

Poor Thing! Citizen TV Eye Candy Actor Goes Through A Dreadful Experience In Nigeria

Pascal Tokodi is a popular face on Citizen TV’s Makutano Junction. He’s also representing Kenya in Africa’s most thrilling reality karaoke competition, TECNO Own The Stage where Kes 2.5 million is the ultimate prize.

With just over a week to the February 7 Grand Finale of the maiden season of TECNO Own The Stage, you cannot afford to miss the next episode of Africa’s first televised karaoke show, especially after the judges surprisingly refused to send any of the contestants home last time around.

Expectations were high in Episode 11 that at least one of Shaapera, Nandy, Sikin and Pascal would be heading home. But fortunately for them, the judges – Bien, M.I. and Yemi – were yet again in a good mood as they opted not to eliminate anyone.

Afterwards, you could virtually see the bewilderment on Vimbai’s face especially after the judges had made Pascal and Sikin go through the dreadful process of performing twice in one night in order to decide who among both Kenyans would be making an exit from the show.

With the judges’ decision though it means all four contestants are still in contention for the grand prize of $25,000, a recording deal, and a brand new TECNO Phantom 5 smartphone, and will take to the stage in Episode 12 where, according to sources close to the show’s producers, they will strictly be performing indigenous African songs.

So maybe we might just get to see the contestants perform classic tunes from some of Africa’s biggest names such as FelaAnikulapo-Kuti, YoussouN’Dour, Salif Keita, Miriam Makeba, Brenda Fassie, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Vanessa Mdee, DaudiKabaka or Suzanna Owiyo.

Viewers should also expect award-winning Nigerian artiste, Adekunle Gold, to make a guest appearance in Episode 12 and join the growing list of superstars to have graced TECNO Own The Stage.

But more importantly, especially with the February 7 Grand Finale just around the corner, someone will definitely be saying bye-bye to the show this time around. The only question is who will the judges pick? Will it be Shaapera, Nandy, Sikin or Pascal?

So mark the date and time on your calendar, follow the contest on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and don’t miss Episode 12 on the various Africa Magic channels and on Masha Magic East. Broadcast times are as follows:

Africa Magic Showcase – Sundays at 19:00 CAT

Africa Magic Urban – Sundays at 21:00 CAT

Africa Magic Family – Wednesdays at 19:00 CAT

Masha Magic East – Tuesdays at 18:30 CAT.

Follow the conversation on Twitter: #TecnoOwnTheStage.
