First son Jomo Kenyatta tagged along his hot girlfriend to a prayer/thanksgiving rally at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru to celebrate the dropping of charges against the ‘Ocampo Six’.

Last Saturday ‘Ocampo Six’; President Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto, Francis Muthaura, Henry Kosgey, Ali Hussein and Joshua Sang held prayer rally at Uhuru park to celebrate victory over the International Criminal Court (ICC).

President Uhuru’s entire family was present at Afraha Stadium; his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta, his wife Margaret Kenyatta and children Ngina, Muhoho and Jomo.

Jomo Kenyatta once again showed up at a public function with his pretty girlfriend. The first time he was seen with his boo was during Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo stadium last year where he was seen holding his sweetheart’s hand as they walked into the arena.

The two lovebirds were seated close to each other last Saturday at Afraha stadium, on the next row behind where Ngina and Muhoho were seated.

Early this month Noti Flow flew to Tanzania. Details of what she went to do in Bongo are finally out in the open!!

Apparently Noti Flow was in Tanzania for business and not pleasure. The fast rising rapper flew to Bongo to meet Tanzanian artists for a collabo.

And she managed to court two Bongo singers to drop a collabo dubbed ‘Jeet (Ushindi / Success)’ featuring Azma and Akil.

Unlike her other songs like ‘Birthday Cake’ where she caused public uproar for extremely sexually explicit scenes, Noti Flow has steered clear of nudity in her new jam.

It usually the work of Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) to set up electric transformers wherever they see fits according to electricity consumption of a particular area.

Setting up transformers isn’t a big deal that requires a ceremony but Maara South MP Kareke Mbiuki decided to hold a ceremony for the launch of a transformer.

The legislator even had a placard beneath the transformer as a constant reminder to the electorates that he was the one who launched it.

Photos of the MP launching the transformer sparked outrage on social media as Kenyans struggled to understand why a ceremony had to be held for such a small feat.

Chaos erupted online after Gramps Morgan announced he lost his expensive iPhone in a Kenya Airways flight to Nairobi.

Jamaican reggae sensation Morgan Heritage fell in love with Kenya sometimes last year and have since relocated to the 254.

The group which now operates from Kenya regularly flies the national carrier as they go by their business abroad.

Gramps Morgan last Thursday announced he lost his iPhone aboard a Kenya Airways flight to Nairobi city.

“I lost my i phone on kenya airways coming to Nairobi I need my phone so much work to do Jah know the screen was cracked but it still worked lol.” Wrote Gramps.

The chaos erupted following his post as Kenyans tore each other along ethnic lines accusing a certain tribe of being responsible for theft of Gramps’ iPhone, others reminded him Jamaica had a higher crime rate than Kenya while other pointed accusing fingers at the national carrier.

The friction caused by Gramps’ post made him intervene a day later revealing he had found his lost iPhone and begged warring sides to stop firing salvos at each other.

“I wonder why we love to attack each other for simple things the phone was lost NOT stolen and thank god Kenyan Airways found my phone and im back online let’s stay focused on positive thoughts we thank god.”

Yesterday, the Kenyan rugby team secured an unforgettable win over Fiji to become the Sevens Series title winners in Singapore.

After their win, a certain player by the name Sammy Oliech caught the eyes of Kenya ladies who said that he bears a striking resemblance to Hollywood Heartthrob Idris Elba.

Here is what we gathered about Sammy, he is an alumnus of St. Marys School Nairobi (SAINTS) and Computer Pride College.

He is 23 years old and fell in love with rugby as a form one student in Saints. He is a fun-loving person who loves pandas and sticking his long tongue out.

Early last week, a professional LA-based model, Brock O’Hurn caused a huge fuss when he came into the country.

Kenya rugby team made history winning the first Main Cup when they beat islanders Fiji to lift Singapore7s trophy.

President Uhuru was quick to act after the historic win and surprised the rugby players with goodies that will inspire them to win more trophies.

Below is a list of gifts and pledges Uhuru has made to the Kenya 7s rugby team:

1. A fleet of brand new Toyota Prado each costing Kes 6 Million

The 12-man squad plus the coaching staff will be handed 4×4 Toyota Prado by President Uhuru at a ceremony that will be held at State House on Thursday.

The state has also paid for the vehicles’ insurance cover for 5 years plus other costs. Rugby players will be driving home in their new SUVs everything taken care of.

2. No tax for rugby players

The president has pledged to remove tax on salaries and allowances for all rugby players as long as they keep on winning trophies in HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

3. Public holiday

The President has directed that Wednesday 20^th April 2016 to be declared public holiday in recognition of the historic achievement by Kenya rugby players.

Kenyans will gather at the historic Uhuru Park for a national celebration and later on at KICC for photo shoot with rugby players.

4. Facelift for rugby stadia

President Uhuru has promised to contract a 50,000 capacity world class rugby stadium at Impala Grounds.

The president says his government will invest in rugby stadia and training facilities in hope that Kenya will host HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in coming days.

5. Classes for rugby

The president says rugby as a sport will be incorporated in school curriculum in that all primary schools will be compelled to play the sport.

The idea is to groom players from a tender age and also make sure the country has continuous supply of Injeras and Khayanges.

6. Lifetime medical cover and allowance

Uhuru made it clear that no rugby player will turn out to be like cricketer Maurice Odumbe. Rugby players who make Kenya shine at international stage will be given allowances and medical cover even when they retire from the sport.

Ahem, this is just a satirical article. President Uhuru hasn’t made any of the above pledges though I wish he would have done that already.

Congolese president Joseph Kabila awarded DR. Congo’s national football team with Prados after the team won African Nations Championship (CHAN) that were held in Rwanda.

Congo is much poorer than Kenya yet their president gave a 30-man football squad plus the coaching staff Toyota Prados each, why can’t Uhuru do that for our rugby team??

It’s truly been a fun packed weekend with instances of delight and pandemonium all in equal measure. It started off in Singapore where Kenya lifted the World Rugby Sevens Series 2015-16 where they went ahead to lift the main cup trophy for the first time ever.

Now that was a moment of pride for the country which rarely happens. Even though most of us didn’t really understand what they had won going by the congratulatory messages trending online for the better part of the yesterday, it mattered to see Kenyans come together as one and celebrate this all important development in our history.

I was proud to be Kenyan, we all were and no political and tribal bigotry was going to come in the way and that’s the way it should be. We all stood up and flooded the interwebs with our moments of pride and nationalism. I can’t even start recalling all the gif’s I created courtesy of Coca Cola’s Taste the Feeling. And so did my friends and my colleagues…basically we had a blast.

It was short lived though as something else also happened to glare it’s head on social, the story of Stella Nyanzi, the controversial Makerere University lecturer who decided to remove all her clothes after a major dispute with the institution’s management.

If you thought Boniface Mwangi and Co. knew anything about activism then you got it wrong…this woman is on a whole new level. Search the internet and I’m pretty sure you will stumble upon her intrigues and I’m pretty sure they will shock you.  

And when that happens, don’t hesitate to let the world know what you feel. 

A few years ago, Citizen TV’s screen bombshell Anne Kiguta was linked to one Steve Ngunyi a marketing and advertising guru.

The relationship hit a snag after cheating rumors and the wedding slated for early 2014 was called off. But despite dating a violent man (her ex while she was at KTN) and an alleged philanderer, Anne has maintained that she is still a romantic at heart and still believes in love.

Sources close to the news anchor revealed that she has found love and is dating a high-profile man, Jomo Gecaga.Jomo is not just any statehouse official,but the Chief of Staff and the personal secretary to President Uhuru .Gecaga previously worked as a First Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You know Willis Raburu for being a polished TV anchor, humorist and…well, that’s just about it. This weekend however, the towering Citizen TV anchor put on another sombrero.

Willis joined high school students and their parents at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa for yet another edition of Africa Nasaha’s Dreamz Come True auditions. The anchor gave a personal account of how he wanted to pursue media in campus but his dad had something else in mind for him; computer science! So, for the 4 years he was in campus his dad knew he was taking computer science (because the course outline indicated, ‘Media Studies and Information Science’ when in real sense it was just a module) and only came to the realization that he in fact pursued media on the day of graduation!

He went ahead to encourage the students to follow their dreams in art and concentrate in their studies because education provides a path toward success.

Also present at the auditions was Swahili news anchor, Kanze Dena who also advised the auditioning students to make the best out of their art talents because like her, she started in theatre before rising to be an anchor at KBC and presently at Citizen Tv.

The April auditions of Dreamz Come True comes against a backdrop of a very successful Lwak Girls’ cultural dance Sax-Vio-Guitarperformance that saw them emerge top at the just concluded National Drama School Festival. The dance was choreographed by the seasoned thespian Francis Kamau Mwangi who is also the founder of Dreamz Come True.

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has locked horns with Larry Madowo after the NTV journalist roasted him on the Trend last night for his ‘rural mentality’.

Ezekiel Mutua was the topic of discussion on The Trend Trending Talkers (#TTTT) last night as Larry and other panelists made fun of him.

Ezekiel had posted photos of him enjoying a business class flight on social media. Cyprian Nyakundi was the first bigwig who took a jab at Ezekiel for his ‘ushambaness’.

Larry also took issues with the KFCB boss over his post and decided to make him a subject of discussion on the Trend.

Ezekiel hit back at Larry wondering how his Facebook post was even relevant to be discussed on national TV:

“THE TREND ON NTV: Ok, now this is journalism at another level. For 10 minutes the Larry Madowo panel is discussing KFCB, twisting my facebook posts and KFCB action on Coca Cola “Taste – the – feeling ” advert to suit their agenda. Well, BIG DEAL: KFCB has had ten long minutes of prime time publicity and this post could also be subject of more publicity. My post about what God has done to me remains on my facebook page. And if praising God on fb is bragging and will get me this kind of publicity, then keep it here FOR I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL. . .

But while at it, Coca Cola has fully complied. The ad has been edited in line with our request and in their letter to KFCB Coca Cola has restated their commitment to family values in their communication to consumers. Now, that is responsible corporate behaviour!”

Ezekiel went on to reveal the plane he was flying in was the Presidential jet which retired president Kibaki had allowed him to fly when he sent him on a mission.

“Talking of praising God in Business Class and VIP lounges, let me give Larry Madowo and his panel of experts more evidence: this was during the Kibaki regime, just before the 2013 general election that brought the Jubilee government to power. The then President Mwai Kibaki entrusted me and the former minister for Cooperative Development Joe Nyagah with his plane. Joe and I had been sent by Kibaki with a goodwill message to five Presidents in the region. We were nearing the 2013 general election and our neighbours were afraid that there could be a post election violence in Kenya and that that could affect the flow of goods to those countries. The President sent “his trusted men” to assure our neighbours that Kenya had put mechanisms in place to avert the 2007/8 like PEV, that the elections would be peaceful and that they would continue to get uninterrupted services through the port of Mombasa and our roads across the borders. So there we were flying from one capital to another and holding serious meetings with Heads of State. So Larry Madowo I am not seeing these things at KFCB. I have been to White House, I have visited nearly all the major capitals of the world and I have used nearly all major airlines on business and even first class. NOW SHOULD A BOY FROM A VILLAGE IN MWALA NOT PRAISE GOD FOR ALL THIS?”

I thought one is supposed to be given a handout for ass-kissing? I guess not because all David Odongo from standard got was an arrest warrant.

Davido Odongo’s article dubbed “Meet Kimani Rugendo, the billionaire businessman” written on The Nairobian on 9th April 2016 and also published on SDE, is what earned him a date with police.

Reporting on Odongo’s arrest on KTN, Sophia Wanuna said police arrested the Standard writer after they were given orders from above to do so.

Odongo was being held at Embakasi police station having not been told what charges they were holding him for.

The irony is that Odongo’s article was actually praising billionaire Kimani Rugendo revealing how he built a successful business empire.

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) have been using the tag #FreeOdongo to get authorities to free the Standard journalist whose mistake was to over praise city tycoon.

But Kenyans suspect the real reason why Odongo was arrested was his post on Facebook where he dissed Eric Kiraithe, government spokesman:

Eric Kiraithe, being a spokesman doesn’t mean you have to speak even when you have nothing to say. Are you mad? Do you live in Kenya? Get off your ivory tower and come back to reality. If I posted your number here so that Kenyans can call you every time a cop demands a bribe from them, you will run mad. Your phone won’t stop ringing. Do you know how much Kenyans are suffering? So now, Mr Kiraithe you want to blame the civil society for the mess, you and your fellow cops put us into? Stop taking Kenyans for fools. You must have worked hard to be in the position you are right now, stop cheapening yourself by making statements, that you, deep in your heart know isn’t true. Can you look at your children, straight in their eyes, and tell them the video by PBS is fiction? I also don’t like my country being portrayed negatively by foreign media, but the truth can’t be hidden. The newspaper said Sonko was having a secret family and provided photographic evidence which was enough to smoke the Nairobi Senator out of his cocoon of silence.

Anywho, The Nairobian newspaper went on a mission to pull out the skeleton in Sonko’s closet. The daily reported that Sonko was having a secret family.

They posted a photo of the Nairobi Senator holding a newborn baby said to be his and a pretty woman standing on his right side assisting him to hold the baby.

A furious Sonko responded saying he was contemplating suing the newspaper and donating the money paid to him as compensation for libel to a children’s home.

“Hizi gutter press ziko na maneno. Sijui niwasue juu hii ni doo mingi sana alafu nipeleke doo kwa childrens home. Ati Sonko’s secret family. So what..” Wrote a raged Sonko.

He shared photos of him holding other babies as if hinting holding babies didn’t necessarily meant one was the father.

Officers from Special Crime Prevention Unit supported by Flying Squad officers were trailing them from parklands before they finally caught up with them in Westlands where fire was exchanged and death followed.

Notorious thugs known for carrying out the most brutal robberies in the city were yesterday dropped like dirty flies in Westlands.

Three of the four member gang were shot dead as one escaped on foot. Police said they were trailing them from Diamond Plaza in Highridge, Parklands after they got wind they were planning to rob a bank.

Police caught up with them in Westlands where the thugs engaged them in shootout that resulted to the death of three gang members.

Ever since Lupita Nyong’o gave her awesome Oscar speech that was marked with the timeless ‘ you dreams are valid’ quote, Kenyans have taken that to heart and act on it daily.

It is the reason why one of the leading luxury stores in the world, Harrods in UK was drawn to the activities of ‘its’ local branch in Kenya. With about 12,000 employees and revenues topping 691 million sterling pounds and owned by members of Qatari royalty, it is really quite an establishment.

It is thus a big deal if it notices and takes time to answer albeit jokingly, whether a small store in Kenya was its franchise. According to Harrods, several people had made the enquiry and it felt the need to respond.

The business being referred to is a small proprietorship Kibanda that looks to be selling curios. On top of the mabati structure is a big banner with the name Harrods.

Cord leader is trending all over after he fired heavy rounds at President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto.

Raila has criticized President Uhuru and William Ruto over their planned rally at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru this coming Saturday.

William Ruto’s freedom was of particular concern to the Orange Democratic Movement as it proved, as we had always maintained, that ODM did not plan any violence against other Kenyans. Ruto could not have planned for the eviction and murder of so many ODM supporters in so many parts of the country including Nairobi, Naivasha, Nakuru and Kisumu.

While we all agree that our leaders got caught up in a mixture of botched investigations and subversion of the administration of justice, we must admit that the collapse of the I.C.C engagement with the Kenya situation denied this country the only chance it had to end the culture of impunity that has condemned us to an orgy of violence with every election.

As we reflect on the cessation of our engagement with I.C.C regarding the post election violence, we must moan the continued lack of justice for those who were killed, the helpless women who were raped and the multitude of persons who lost their homes and were displaced.

Clearly, as a nation, there is nothing to celebrate about. Instead, we have to reflect on the many critical decisions that we need to make. We have many people who we still need to condole and reparate and a national sense of justice that needs to be reconfirmed.

In light of these circumstances, it amounts to mocking the dead and the surviving victims of Post Election Violence for the President and his Deputy to assemble their political supporters at Afraha Stadium to celebrate the end of the pursuit of justice over the atrocities of the mayhem in 2007/2008.

Frazy who was initially signed to Calif Records changed allegiance to produce a new song by Grandpa Records when he made the comeback. The rapper is also being managed by King of street mix Dj Mantix.

The new song Frazy dropped is called ‘Iwararukie’. Media houses initially refused to play ‘Iwararukie’ as they argued it was too explicit even though Frazy begged to differ.

“Some media stations claims the video is explicit I don’t think the video is explicit because the media plays international artist music which seems to be actually p@rn*graphic. Mine it’s a party song and I think the video should blend with the message. I had taken a break to learn the music industry well and now am back and much should be expected from me.” Frazy was quoted as saying.

The rapper had no choice but to go back to studio to polish the explicit scenes before dropping a whole new video again.

At the well attended Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club, Peter Wanday was elected Chairman with his predecessor Bob Dewar remaining on the committee as the Vice Chairman and Event Director of the CBA Africa Concours d’Elegance.

The regulations for the Concours have been approved by the Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF) and the event has been recognized and sanctioned by FIM.AFRICA since 2006. Rated as the classiest event on the Kenya Motor Sports calendar, the Concours has already attracted 56 entries. The list includes one from Tanzania, 13 from Uganda and three from South Africa.

After becoming a committee member in 2013 Peter Wanday was elected Vice Chairman a year later in recognition of his participation in Club’s events and the establishment of links with Alfa Romeo Clubs in other countries. Alfa owners in Kenya are now benefitting from liaison with the historic section of Alfa Romeo in Milan and parts suppliers in Britain, Europe and South Africa.

To a great extent the Club’s strength depends on the experience and enthusiasm of the committee members. Shailesh Chandaria was re-elected Treasurer and Lynette Pereira continues as Secretary.Jane Njoroge is responsible for media coordination and the committee members are Rushmi Bowry and Micky Bassi.

This team is hard at work preparing for the Total Quartz Economy Run which is scheduled for June 18th. This will be the 34th in the annual series organized by the Club and will cover an 84 kilometre route between Nairobi and Naivasha.

Meanwhile the regulations for the CBA Africa Concoursd’Elegance are being circulated to regular and potential competitors. Already the car entry list features an impressive selection of classics including the 1952 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn of Roger Tanner, Sati Gata Aura’s 1947 MG TC and a 1967 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL entered by newcomer Ronald Nyairo.

Among the 12 motorcycles which will be ridden to Nairobi from Kampala by members of the Uganda Bikers Association (UBA) are Dave Maunang’s 2004 KTM and Gilbert Anguyo’s BMW which was made in 2011. Sati Jabbal has entered a 1938 BSA and there are four super bikes which will be shown by Cruzin Kings Club members.
