Kenya’s gospel most controversial son and who is also its poster boy for ‘superstardom’ has struck again with some well timed ‘mini-controversy’.
Ahead of the release of his much vaunted collaboration with Sauti Sol, Willy Paul decided to give his fans a taste of what the song will be about and this decision has earned him a public outcry.
Not for leaking the verse but rather the content of the verse has proved to many of his earlier critics that his song with Sauti Sol is more secular than a gospel song. Actually it appears to be a love song with Willy Paul finding a way to get gospel themes in it.
It is also quite a short verse so unless he makes the chorus, he will be having quite a mini-role in the collaboration given Sauti Sol has three vocalists.

You know him for his energetic moves both on live stage and in his music videos. He has also done a number of collabos with many Gospel artistes which could earn him the “king of collabos” title in the Gospel industry. After a long silence and disappearance from the scene it has now emerged that Alemba is coming to the most hyped Karta Festival.
KArTa Festival is an event that stands for ‘Kenyan Arts and Talent Festival. The event will bring together key talents in the country, including singers, poets, spoken word, bands, dance crews, drawing, paint work, , jewellery, art, deejays, photography, fashion, among other forms of art. Teens who pass the auditions will participate at the Karta fest and showcase their talent; sharing the stage and interacting with guest celebrities.
There will be performances, PlayStation competitions, Art gallery, Fashion shows, fashion stands, Deejay battles, B-boying battles, photobooths, food courts and the list goes on.
The “hype master” as he’s commonly referred to, will be at Impala Grounds, on the 16th of April 2016 for the festival, from 11am to 6pm.

One, she doesn’t value your sex life that much to experiment. Two, she thinks you are not faithful, but she doesn’t care. (This is a bad foundation for a fledging relationship). She might be getting nabged by other dudes too. In short, she’s careful slut, .
So I’ll break this down into rules
Rule number one
If she’s okay with doing it raw after you’ve dated for a long time, then she’s a great girl. You should go get tested together, decide on a family planning strategy and bang the shit out of each other. (Remember, you must totally trust her and know her mannerisms before you decide to go this route. Know the type of people she hangs out with too.)
Rule number two
If a chick was willing to fling herself at your uncovered ‘D’ the very first time you had sex with you, without getting tested, you should not even grant her the privilege of being your girlfriend in the first place. Think about it. How many guys has she shagged without getting tested? If she offered her goodies to you raw the first time you met her, I hope you declined. A long life is better than a few moments of pleasure,
Rule number three
If she isn’t comfortable using family planning methods and she clearly explains to you why, then you should use a condom with her, at all times. Do not make your girlfriend pop P2s every single time. It’s not cool. If both of you are okay with using a condom, then please use one ll the time. There’s no need to bow down to societal pressure. Zari Hassan may have faced resistance form Diamond Platnumz’ fans after she started dating the Tanzanian superstar, but she seems to have won them over.
Especially due to her daughter with Diamond, Tiffah Nasseb. As you probably know, Zari has other children with her ex Ivan Ssemwanga one of Uganda’s richest men, 3 kids to be specific and she recently showed off her beautiful children on social media.

One of Kenya’s best Swahili news anchors Kanze Dena turned a year older yesterday.
But she decided to do the unexpected and opted for a simple dinner instead of the extremely extravagant birthday parties most celebrities enjoy.
The composed news anchor opted for a quite dinner with close friends at a restaurant and a cake which she dug into. For her birthday dinner, Kanze wore a white turtleneck dress with stars and a black trench coat.
So do you have a celebrity crush? I have one, he’s a man and I’m not the slightest afraid to let the world know. His name is Diamond Platnumz. I bet you have probably heard about him. His songs are on high rotation on the various radio and TV stations and his social media pages are awash with pictures of him globetrotting and awing masses with his music.
Why him? Well, because I’m a sucker for good work ethic. It doesn’t matter what lies in between your legs but as long you love what you do and you’re good at it, then I’m sold. And truth be told, Diamond has an impeccable work ethic.
Now, I’m not here to brag about my crush but to brag about the fact that I have met him and specifically narrate about the first time I met him. I had attended some event in Mauritius where he was actually one of performing acts. As usual he didn’t disappoint, it was a great show but there was one problem, there was no way security was going to let me have a moment with the guy, to just take a selfie even.
I still tried anyway but I failed terribly, I was shoveled and bundled away by his security even before I could even manage with the guy. It was heart-rending But what can a guy do? It was time I accepted that I would never get a chance to interact with the guy but little did I know what God had in store for me.
I was scheduled to fly back to Kenya the next day so I’m there minding my own business and reminiscing about the previous day events when I hear Larry Madowo mention Diamond’s name. For a moment I thought he was a groupie like I was but no; the guy was standing just next to him. He was in the company of his manager and apparently we were scheduled to use the same flight.
Right there and then I froze, I went numb and my palms started sweating. This was Diamond…Diamond Platnumz just standing next to me, with no security, no barriers at all. Noo, this couldn’t be true. But wait; he had actually started moving, he was heading towards boarding the plane before I could finish fathoming the whole ordeal.
I had to move and move first which I did. So as quick as I could, I approached the guy. Tried saying hi and introducing myself but words just couldn’t come out. Saliva did though and I think it landed on his face. *Yes, I have spat on Diamond* Then followed that quizzical look from him and ooh my, things were getting heated up….this was more than I expected.
I had to speak first or forever hold my peace because the guy was moving….his manager was now beckoning and there was just so much to be discussed. It was crazy but I managed to chuck out my phone and at least manage to click on the camera button. I immediately clicked and there was my much awaited selfie. It was a horrible photo but who cared, it was still a selfie with Chibudee himself!
I think I leaned in a bit too much and I think I also attempted holding his waist which was a bit weird. Why? Because he noticed and took a step back and again gave me that quizzical look, I think my intentions had been misconstrued, I think also my sexual orientation.
But in that split of a second, I had achieved and I wanted the world to know. A post on facebook or a photo on instagram just wouldn’t cut it but unfortunately that’s all I had. If it was now, then there would be Coca Cola’s Taste a feeling which allows creating a gif which you can share in all these platforms. After dating for close to four years, Papa Shirandula actress Joy Karambu (Kawira) tied the knot with her love Ephantus Wahome at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).
Joy admits that after the wedding, she found marriage difficult at first before she settled in. Speaking to E Daily, Kawira said that the early stages of her marriage were hard because she had not been raised by a man and with boys around. (She was raised by a single mum after her father passed away and she has no brothers)

Boniface Mwangi has gone on rampage insulting Julie Gichuru, her husband and her father-in-law following yesterday’s blunder with mCheza.
#FallOfJulieGichuru was a hot topic on Twitter yesterday after mCheza, a betting site associated with her family, paid bettors peanuts.
Lots of gamblers bet right and were expecting good returns only to be given sums that made them to protest bitterly.
Boniface Mwangi jumped on the trending topic armed with the deadliest machine gun which he used to fire heavy rounds at Julie Gichuru, her husband Anthony Gichuru and her father-in-law Samuel Gichuru.
It’s not the first time Boniface is stripping Julie, last year he mauled her for the same reason he’s doing it this year.
Boniface claims Julie Gichuru has never condemned corruption because her family thrives in money stolen from Kenyans.
Jersey authorities in UK seized stolen money that Julie Gichuru’s father-in-law and former Energy minister Chris Okemo had stashed in UK bank.
UK authorities say Samuel Gichuru fraudulently obtained the money while serving as Kenya Power managing director. For this reason Boniface Mwangi has never gotten tired of attacking Julie Gichuru.

Music bands and music groups are quite a common feature in the local music industry.
Worldwide over they have been platforms to the launch of solo careers or bring together basically artists with different aspects to form a complete whole. At other times and mostly, it has been friends with a loving for music joining up and doing their thing regardless of talent level.
However much all music bands will like to show each member is key in the group, time and experience has always proved that there is always that one artist whom the group really doesn’t need for survival. Put it simply the group can do without him or her. In Kenya we have had several successful groups some have faded with time others are still going strong. Here are 5 of them and their five ‘useless’ members.
Sauti Sol- Polycarp Otieno
They are arguably Kenya’s greatest ever musical act reaching heights few individuals or music groups can ever come close to match. They are made up of four members, Bien Aime, the lead singer, the main man and an accomplished song writer, Willis Chimano, a vocalist multiple instrument player and the group’s rock star, Savara Mudigi, the brains behind their label Sauti Sol entertainment, producer , vocalist and percussionist extraordinaire and the Polycarp Otieno, the group’s quiet guy, a good producer and guitarist. When he is not used as an actor you will be hard pressed to find any significant contribution to the groups music he makes. Savara is obviously the bigger influence on the music production while a guitarist can always be found at a moment’s asking. So Polycarp Otieno is just a guy who was at the right place at the right time.
Kansoul – Kid Kora
Of the three artists in the group, only Kid Kora has gained prominence after their coming together. His role is somewhere between the rapper-hook singer and part time producer. Mejja is obviously the star in terms of rapping and song writing, Madtraxx the main producer and the second better rapper. Kid Kora could leave Kansoul and you would never notice he has ever been there.
Elani- Bryan Chweya
Elani’s third group member Bryan Chweya is the only male among two females and his luck doesn’t end there. He is also able to be considered key despite just contributing back-up vocals and as a friend in the office has said, creating symmetry in the group. You would count and only stop at one song that e really came to providing an equal contribution to the group. He has demonstrated no other musical skill key to the group survival making him the most expendable member of the group.
H_Art The Band
The exciting trip has almost the same skills according to their Facebook bio. All are actors, fashionistas and poets. Wachira Gatama and Mordecai Mwini are also spoken word artists while Mordecai and Kenneth Muya are singers too. However, from all their work public performances, videos to audios, it is clear that Kenneth Muya is the expendable member. You can easily describe how a H_Art The Band song will be, great vocals from Mordecai and an occasional spoken word performance from him and finally the main deep vocals from Wachira and his signature spoken word performance. In between or towards the end, you will hear the soft croons of Kenneth lasting just about 30 seconds. He is basically the backup singer with great skill on the guitar.
PUNIT
Until Boneye’s performance in Gentleman, many had been wondering just what his role in the group is. Sadly that was his last serious performance and even as the group later split to pursue solo careers, his is the bleakest one going by the weak lines and delivery. He rode the others work and if the group had decided to lose a member he would be the one to leave and the group would lack for nothing.

So far only Betty has been the one showing signs all isn’t well with her marriage as Dennis Okari still remains mum.
Even though she didn’t publicly acknowledged she was having problems with her marriage, her gesture proved there were specks of truth in the divorce rumor.
She started by dropping the ‘Okari’ she acquired after she got married to the NTV journalist. Then today she finally addressed the divorce rumor after her look alike sister talked about it.
For the first time ever, Betty addressed the divorce rumor as she responded to her sister’s post. Below is what she wrote:

1.Wanja Kibuki
Wanja is the brains behind ‘Vitabu Vyetu’, an organization that aims at making books available to students in vulnerable areas and aims at reducing illiteracy levels.
Established in 2014, the organization’s motto is ‘Get Kids in School. Keep Kids In School. See Kids Achieve Their Dreams’.
And in line with their slogan, the organization is working hard to ensure young children, especially in marginalized schools all over Kenya, receive quality education in line with Kenya’s 2015 millennium development goals.
In addition the organization intends on improving the reading culture among today’s children and children of the future.
2. Vane M Aminga
Vane spearheads a community based organization called ‘Fly Sister Fly’ (FSF) that champions for the rights of girls to education amongst pastoral communities. In addition, they tackle problems like FGM, lack of sanitary pads, poverty and also mentor the young girls.
So far, the Fly Sister Fly Foundation has restored dignity to hundreds of girls in the Samburu and Marsabit counties by providing sanitary towels through pad drives and partnerships. They also aim at providing meals for the girls and transport to and back from school as some of these schools are far away from where they live.
3.Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg
Wanjiru , the current Director of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) established Akili Dada Foundation back in 2005 before she struck 30.
The underrepresentation of women in leadership positions in Africa was what spurred Wanjiru into action and she began reaching out to young ladies especially those from underprivileged communities.
Through her organization, Wanjiru has been able to inspire, mentor and hone the leadership skills of young girls .So in future expect to see more women join politics ,take up leadership position without any fear and also involve themselves in the policy and decision-making processes affecting women’s lives in Kenya and Africa
4. Moses Issaji
Moses established Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation in 2011, and officially registered it as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in May 2013. The organization seeks to promote and provide easily accessible information that will reduce cancer morbidity and mortality in Kenya. EHCF is dedicated to bringing forth a cancer free generation by creating awareness, disseminating valuable health information and offering support, all to through fun activities and engagements.
It is an organization fueled by their intentions to make a difference, to create an impact and to save lives through cancer advocacy and education. They strongly believe in empowering the youth group, to engage in an active process of becoming aware of and making informed choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. In order to achieve a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being as far as cancer is concerned.
5. 1000 Rides
1000 Rides is an NGO founded by four friends James Owino, Bradoxx Ogilo, Laban Mwai and Davies Ray in 2015 .
Initially, the group was formed just for keeping fit and bonding among friends but later progressed to something bigger than themselves, thus the birth of 1000 rides.
The organization aims at creating a platform for cyclists and cycling enthusiasts to help promote the sport and make cycling in Kenya an alternative means of transport, sport, fitness and recreational tool.
In addition, they have a project called 1000 rides for 1000 lives where they wanted to change as many lives as possible by supporting different initiatives.
In addition the organization, also started a female cycling initiative called ‘Pedal Mania’ where they try and promote female cycling.
Team consists of other four members (Grace Nemo , Kelvin Kagiri, Victor Mburu , Mark Ngugi)

Becoming a blogger is what many young Kenyans are aspiring to be whether as part time or as full time self employment job.
However, it is quickly becoming an option marred by challenges and the threat of being jailed. This is especially true for social and political bloggers. Public figures and corporate entities have seen the power of such bloggers and the effect of a conversation trending online and they are not taking it easy where their names are mentioned in unflattering terms.
In the beginning, such an unlucky would be released after much lobbying and having spent a few days in the cell. Nowadays, jail time and punitive damage fees are a reality few have found out the pretty hard way. The worst hit has to be one Peter Ekisa who was ordered by court to pay a total of 5 million to Teso North MP after making what the court termed falsehoods against the MP.
Apparently he was asked to retract the comments but declined and in his ruling the judge said “There is no doubt that the platform chosen by the plaintiff was intended to and did achieve the desire to be accessed by as many people as possible. Indeed, the number of people who contributed to the exchanges is overwhelming to say the least. The damage of character sustained by the plaintiff must have been enormous,”
This ruling is set to be a precedent that could see more such like defamation cases.

The stereotype goes on how cruel and stingy some employers of Indian origin can be and certain action only serve to prove this stereotype true.
Consider the unfortunate and saddening case of one Isaack Njoroge a 38 year old driver at one of the Mombasa based transporting firms owned by PN Mashru. The driver was accused of stealing company property in the form of aluminum coil worth several millions. What followed when he was arrested was not the expected procedure of getting him to the police and subsequently charging him.
Instead the company managers had the driver taken and bound to a huge tire outside the company premises and they supervised the torture of the man as his fellow employees stood and watched. The poor man was at one point burnt with no one coming to his aid.
That such an incident should happen and the managers go scott free talks of the levels of impunity still rampant in the country while thieves of billions of shillings get to walk and are invited to police stations rather than arrested. Here is the sad video courtesy of Daily Nation:
A driver with a Mombasa based transport company was tortured by his managers after he was allegedly accused of stealing an aluminium coil worth millions of shillings two months ago. Isaack Njoroge, 38, was beaten and part of his body burnt as his managers at PN Mashru supervised the brutal act at the company premises in Jomvu.

UoN Senate decided to close school to curb the spread of violence and also to punish students who participated in the chaotic demonstrations.

Bahati wa mabarua has decided he will no longer write to God instead opting to seek the attention of the highest office in the land!
‘Itakua Sawa’ singer has taken it upon himself to bring joy to the faces of children suffering from cancer at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
Bahati was specifically motivated to fight for kids with cancer after his friend Charity succumbed to the chronic disease.

Upon discovering more cancer kids were dying in their numbers, Bahati decided to seek the attention of President Uhuru.
Below is the letter the gospel singer wrote the president:

My Name is KEVIN BAHATI a Gospel Musician & Kenyan Citizen. I could have send this as a Private letter but it might take long before it gets to you so the URGENCY of this matter forced me to put it in Public maybe a fellow Citizens might read it to you. One of the Promises I made after My song ITAKUA SAWA was “No More” sad Songs & Melodies but how- When I still See nothing to Smile About??? Mr President do you see the picture above? It was taken barely Two days ago at Kenyatta National Hospital Cancer Ward bt as you are reading this (ABIGAEL WANJIKU KAMAU) is No More. Days Just after we’ve buried another 8 year Old Baby Charity. I Visited the same Kids Ward 5 months ago found more than 80 admitted kids and now on my Second Visit I find less than 30 new faces.. Not because they are healed but we’ve lost over 90% of this kids to the grave. Mr President is CANCER not Treatable??? I understand we can’t save the lives of all this Patients but isn’t there a way we can Pro- long their lives by giving a standard Medical care??.. The Rich will go to private hospitals or Seek treatment abroad what about Us the big Percentage of Kenyans that still can’t afford a Dollar a day??? KNH is the only hope to Us but Our dedicated Doctors & Nurses lack treatment resources. Mr President our Parents are tired of Helplessly waiting to burry their Kids. Our Biggest National Hospital ( KNH) has less than 3 Cancer Treatment machines which serve over 2000 patients.Meaning a Patient Can spend almost 2 years waiting for their turn to go through the Chemotherapy Machine! About 60 people die every Month; these are 15 people weekly; meaning we burry like 2 every day. Mr President from Our Hearts we Love you & I believe you Love Us too. Am not so educated to advice you on how to do this but as the Most Powerful Man in Our Country. Please Do Something coz we are loosing too Many.
