Secular artistes don’t usually openly talk about their faith in God, but there are those have who not only talked about it but have gone the whole 9 yards and have gotten saved.

Below are some celebrities who have gotten saved in recent times.

1.Bobby Mapesa

Moses Odoma was probably one of the raunchiest lyricists in the country with songs like ’Kamoja Tu’ and ‘Naskia Utamu’ propelling him into nationwide fame.

So it became a bit of a shock when he said that he had gotten saved on his first visit to achurch after 11 years.

A move that was viewed by a few people as a publicity stunt, but Booby maintains that his decision to get saved is genuine and he will remain steadfast in his salvation .he went on to add that he has forgiven those who criticize his move as a publicity stunt.

2.Size 8

Just like Bobby Mapesa, Size 8’s move the gospel industry was unexpected since she was known for some of the most explicit not forgetting titillating dances this country has ever seem. To summarize it, Size 8 was quite the wild child.

But no one is beyond salvation and 3 years on, Size 8 has managed to maintain her salivation and even make money out of it by releasing some sizzling gospel hits like ‘Afadhali Yesu’ and ‘Jemedari’

Speaking during an interview on Standard Size 8 described ‘salvation as the best thing that ever happened to her.’ Before revealing that her decision to get saved wasn’t easy “When I left the secular world, I was so sure that I had made a suicidal move and I left it all to Jesus. It was a lucrative business back then, but I knew that God would bless me, eventually, according to his word.”

And blessing he did!

3.Bamboo

Bamboo’s last hurrah in the secular industry was marked by this message he shared on Facebook “Think I’m done with secular music. On with the Lord’s purpose, done with the world circus. Who cares what they’ll say? You die alone anyway. ‪#‎purposedrivenmusic”

His transformation was met with a lot of cynicism as he had tried salvation once and it did not work out too well and he soon backslid. The doubting Debbies and Negative Nancy’s had a field day implying that he may be doing this as a publicity stunt .But he revealed that he was not doing Gospel for the money but to spread the word

4. Lady Bee

She is another bad girl gone good who revoked her hedonistic ways for the straight and narrow path.

Just like Size 8 Lady Bee was known for her sexy and seductive dance routines.

While many celebrated her over the new state of affairs, some members of Team Mafisi were left lamenting heavily.

But they got in with the program once they realised that the former Calif Records Beauty was serious about her salvation.

5. Q-Tasi

I will be the first to admit that not much has been heard from Q-Tasi since he moved to Gospel but the last time we spoke to him, the singer revealed that he got saved after reflecting on his life and coming to the conclusion that he needed to get his life in check and the only solution was to get saved.

Today Muslims across the world are in a jubilant mood as they celebrate the end of month long fasting for the holy month of Ramadan.

Mohammed Ali on the other side decided to spend time on his father’s grave. The KTN investigative journalist took a panga and went to the graveyard to do some cleaning on his father’s grave.

Octopizzo has come out all guns blazing in defense of his hood, Kibera.

This is after what he termed was a misrepresentation by the pop icon Madonna who depicted that the people in Kibera get their water from a filthy sewer.

Kibera’s finest who has a number of self help activities in the area was not amused by the depiction and had a sharp response to the superstar.

Commuting in Nairobi has been a nightmare ever since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu touched down in the city on Monday.

Israeli Prime Minister caused major traffic snarl up as roads were closed to facilitate his motorcade to move with ease to wherever he went.

Haile Sellasie Avenue, Uhuru Highway, Chiromo road, Parliament Road, Wabera Street, Langata road and State House Avenue were some of the roads closed during Netanyahu’s visit.

Even Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero was forced to leave his car on the road and walk to work after he was caught in the traffic buildup.

Nairobians took to twitter to grumble about the traffic nightmare caused by the Israeli premier and apparently Netanyahu heard the complains by Nairobians.

The Israeli premier yesterday issued his sincere apology to Nairobians while speaking in State House during a state banquet held in his honor by his host President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“I am sorry that of the many pleasurable things that this visit evokes and good things, the things for good, to borrow President Kenyatta’s phrase, there is this inconvenience. So I apologize to the people of Kenya who have to wait, the people of Nairobi who have to wait in line, and I tell you that we too have waited decades for this visit, we are glad to be here.” Netanyahu consoled Nairobians.

Photos of heavy duty Tynedria Meneweather sitting on her skinny husband have been doing rounds on social media for days.

The internet was baffled by how Tynedria’s husband could stand being sat on by his wife who probably weighs hundreds of kilos.

The excuses and reasoning given by most rapists defending themselves are absurd, disheartening and just outrageous.

At times such explanations do explain the unworldly realms their sick mind work in. A man in Botswana just went to another level in his defense after he was caught and charging with raping a mad lady. The 59 year old man Lekopange Gaisange told the judge in a court that he should not be accused since he never messed with the lady’s mind but rather only dealt with her private parts which ‘were normal’.

“Her private parts are normal Your Worship. When we had sexual intercourse, she responded positively proving that she was in agreement with what we were doing. And her private parts are as normal as those of other women I had sexual intercourse with before,” Gaisang

He was found guilty of his acts but the judge noted his poverty and the fact that he was approaching old age along with him being a first offender he was sentenced to a reprimand. It was quite an upturn of justice to the family of the lady but the judge decided to exercise mercy. 

College students are notorious for many things – none of which beats their sporadic parties thrown either in the house,club,verandah,corridor,corner shop or parking lot.

And unlike your everyday party,a college party is one seriously dangerous affair. What starts like a calm gathering of classmates and acquaintances quickly degenerates into a wild bender fueled by Illicit drugs,wanton drunkenness,abrupt nudity,heavy disturbance of peace,total disregard of the law and order and wicked sex sessions that don’t stop till the following morning.

If you can survive a college party,with all of it’s intoxicating ingredients combined,you can surely survive anything – including a marketplace bombing attack in downtown Mumbai.

Last weekend,for instance, the Country was jarred by the shockingly terrible deaths of eight bubbly college students on their way to a White Party in Kisii.

No one knows a lot about what caused the freak accident but one thing is for sure ; these kids must have been terribly drunk,must have been driving like Arabian maniacs and must have been very intoxicated and high to think straight or have a care in the world.

And that’s the consummate culture of college – free,wild,risky,crazy.

We’ve heard enough stories about why we shouldn’t drink and drive. But not enough stories on how to successfully throw a party that doesn’t end up consuming tens of souls and disrupting lives forever.

Wanna throw a college party? Wild one for that matter? Sure! Why not!

But first….. The Rules:

1. Be Loyal To Your Drink

Most unfortunate incidences that occur at a college party are as a result of students taking a galaxy of drinks and mixing it all up with a little whiskey,a little vodka,a little brandy, a little rum, a little beer,a little wine and a little champagne. Just stick to one drink. Stop filling up your cup with all manner of stuff. This is what we call alcohol promiscuity. Be FAITHFUL to whichever brand you are used to. And stop jumping at every new drink that’s been placed on the table. Mixing up drinks can leave you more messed up than the Greek economy. Are you a Flirt Vodka person? Good. Just sit at a corner and enjoy your sweet Flirt Vodka. Responsibly. Pouring in some Jameson,some Viceroy and some White Cap in the same cup will leave you feeling like a joke. You might end up in a different town actually.

2. Drink Responsibly

I know. I know. We’ve all heard this one for the last six the years or so. And still,we drink irresponsibly. College kids drink like Irish sailors. There’s no amount of alcohol these deviants won’t swallow. They’re like a processing plant – pouring endless liters of the stuff into their bellies. Come on kid! Sit that butt down and drink with a limit. Don’t drown a whole bottle and still hope to wake up tomorrow in one piece. You won’t know how you ended up with pain in your vaginal area. Won’t even know what happened to your bra. Or how come you can’t find your phone. Take the liquor that your little body can handle. It’s not so much to ask for.

3. Water Water Water

EABL has done enough campaigns on this matter. And yet,it never sinks in. Pun unintended. Doesn’t matter how wild the party be. Doesn’t matter how many bottles have been splashed across the table. Girl,take your water. Religiously. Make sure you’re drowning your booze with pints of water after every half an hour. Take as much water as you can. It helps detoxicate your body and helps crush down the potency of the liquor you’ve just imbibed. Doesn’t matter what sort of drinker you are. Heavy or light. Water always works wonders. It keeps your body from giving in. And keeps you from falling into a ditch. Like a bag of premature cabbages.

4. Arrive With A Friend

Been invited to a party!? Cool. Planning to attend? Even better. But remember! You MUST NOT attend a party alone. Especially a house party. House parties are like the altars of Satan. A lot can happen in there. A lot. You will need to drag along a friend who will watch over you and make sure your watch is still strapped around your wrist even after you’ve blacked the fuck out. You need a friend who, in fact,drinks less than you and doesn’t get more ratchet than you. Otherwise you will both wake up in Ruaka. Minus your underpants. Let that friend be not just a friend but also your keeper – let them help you stay grounded. And help you avoid getting so drunk you end up twerking on the ceiling. And peeing on the watchman.

5. Eat

Don’t just show up to parties with your belly grumbling. Fix yourself a plate of something to eat. Alcohol doesn’t work so well with an empty belly. House parties tend to prepare some random ugali and nyama for the attendees. And in some cases,the ugali /nyama is not forthcoming. Don’t fret. Go out and eat. Eat hard. You will need a full belly to accommodate the amount of alcohol you’re about to shamelessly drown. You don’t want to black out at 8.36pm. And lose your bag by 10.09pm. Silly bastard.

6. Designated Driver

Yeaaaah yeeaaah yeeaaah,this is obviously the most boring part of the rules. Plus you’ve heard that line so many times you want to throw up. But still,I insist,find some competent driver who will chauffer your drunk ass around when need be. Either that or stop being such a silly drunken wretch yourself and drive your own ass home. You didn’t come to kill yourself and your crew. You came to party and end up home in one piece. Therefore,getting yourself terribly drunk and still getting behind the wheel beats the whole purpose of the word ‘Celebration’. You’re driving human beings around. Not your college papers. The least you can do is either manage your drink or let some less wasted fellow drive you guys home. Or to wherever you wish to end up. Don’t end up with a broken spine and a dead girlfriend while trying to be cool. This is not The Matrix.

7. STOP RACING ON THE ROADS

I had to use Capital Letters for this particular point. College kids with a souped-up Subaru Imprezza will always want to outdo the next guy. Young people love driving together,trailing each other,overtaking each other,yelling and each other and out speeding each other. Well,this doesn’t last too long. It didn’t last in Kisii anyway. STOP RACING along the roads. Stop out speeding each other. STOP these unnecessary overtakings and STOP tailgating each other. Accidents happen in a mili-second. You cannot gamble with your life while trying to show off your road wizardry. You’re not on the set of Fast And Furious 6. You’ll be gone in a minute honey. In less than a minute actually.

8. Carry Some Cash With You

Stop showing at parties with like sixteen shillings in your wallet. It’s a party. Not a Sunday School reunion. Anything can happen at a party. Especially a college one. You need to beef up your finances before you leave that door. Anything can happen. You might end up dumped in the middle of a road by your stupid, drunk boyfriend. And you’ll need to go home. Your friend might end up vomiting her bowels away and you will be required to take them home. Anything happens. You need to be financially ready for any eventuality. Broke? Then don’t show up at a party. No one wants to yell next to a broke ass anyway. You’re the reason people are dying actually. Have some little cash just in case things go south. And they usually do.

9. Charge Your Phone

You need to have a fully-charged phone by the time you leave your hostel and creep into that party some thirty kilometers away. You don’t want to show up in a whole new town,into a whole new house with your phone playing at 12%. And you didn’t even carry a charger. Wild things happen at house parties. You need your phone in case you need to call your friend or boyfriend or cab guy or mother or anything. Things might get seriously nasty and you don’t have a way of contacting any loved one. Keep your phone charged. Keep your phone alive. Shit might hit the fan. And your phone will be your ticket to deliverance.

10. Don’t Stay In The House Party Past 12.00 Midnight

Soon as it’s approaching midnight,you should ask that the music is stopped and that people should now hit the club. Especially if you’re in some dude’s house which is like three towns from your hostel. Don’t party too much in a stranger’s house. Especially if the house is full of some seventy seven dudes and thirteen chics. Doesn’t matter who you are. Male or female. Don’t overstay in a house party. Leave soon as it’s midnight or some minutes past one o’clock. Ask to go to the club or something. Don’t get too stuck up in a drunken situation. Move around. Change venues. Breath in some fresh air. Stay woke.

And with that,let’s hope that I will get invited to the next College Party. And have the hottest girl in the Campus booked for me.

A plea had been put on social media to help Frank trace his family. The story is that his Kenyan sweetheart allegedly ran away with all the wealth he came to Kenya with.

The German national has been left homeless and a beggar in the streets of Ukunda –Diani , at the Coast.

The only documents in Frank’s possession were his passport and a registration copy of his lost motorbike.

She’s not fleshy but she can surely shake her body to wow the audience. Akothee pole danced at a strip club to the amazement of revelers.

You would think that Akothee would be taking bed rest now that she is expecting baby number six, but the multimillionaire singer is a party animal who can’t resist going out for some euphoric experience.

As you know by now, Kalekye Mumo has left Kiss 100 to pursue bigger projects with her PR Company. Adelle Onyango has been picked as the new Kiss FM breakfast show presenter alongside Shaffie Weru.

A company statement in regards to the matter reads “We have decided to reconstitute the breakfast team and have chosen Adelle Onyango to lead the new team starting today. Adelle will have Shaffie Weru as the co -anchor.”

The company also revealed why they picked Adelle to take over from the iconic Kalekye Mumo. “Adelle has built a fanatical social media following and is well connected to Kenyan youth. It is expected that the new show will be formally launched to the market soon.” they disclosed before adding this is regards to Kalekye’s exit.

Kalekye Mumo who has been with the company for many years and done a great job first as Kiss FM drive anchor and later as breakfast anchor has left to pursue other interests.”

Back in the day before the advent of Social Media, Africans could only hold in their rage for how the western media portrayed Africa.

Thanks to this negative portrayal, most people outside Africa view it as a continent that suffers from poverty, war and disease. And that is why most tourists often ride on this stereotype for self-promotional purposes where they look like saints for getting out of their comfort zone to help ‘poor Africans’ in the ‘disease-ridden, war-ravaged and poverty-stricken continent’

Sadly, Madonna who you would expect is more informed about Africa is among these tourists who are spreading these stereotypes.The pop queen shared a picture of a Kibera open sewer which she claims is drinking water, something which irked her Kenyan followers who mercilessly slammed her for it.

Now a Hollywood actress of Scottish descent is getting dragged all over Twitter for her exaggerated account of her gap-year in Zambia and about the ‘Hutu-Tutsi-war In Congo.

In her In Congo’s Shadow: One Girl’s Perilous Journey to the Heart of Africa. memoir (part of which was published by The Telegraph) Louise Linton writes “… soon learned that Africa is rife with hidden danger. I witnessed random acts of violence, contracted malaria and had close encounters with lions, elephants, crocodiles and snakes. As monsoon season came and went, the Hutu-Tutsi conflict in neighboring Congo began to escalate and then spill over into Zambia with repercussions all along the lake. Thousands of people were displaced and we heard brutal tales of rape and murder.”

She also went on to reveal that she feared for her life after she was forced to flee from rebels who she believed would attack her for being a ’skinny white muzungu with long angel hair’

Her story was flawed, self-promotional and greatly exaggerated a lot of things. And this has earned her the rage of Africans who are clapping back under the hashtag #LintonLies with even the Scottish people distancing themselves from her.

Now that is about to change with the newest gospel songstress splashing quite a lot for her latest video shoot. Noushka Diambu Sasa is the new name in the gospel industry.

The beautiful and talented singer had an audio out for her big hit Mungu Wangu and has now followed it up with quite an expensive video. The video which was shot at a scenic location in Magadi cost 3.8 million and featured not just beautiful dancers but also three choppers. It is pretty much accurate to say she is high flying.

Madonna has been around for a couple of days but it already feels like she has overstayed her welcome and abusing the generosity or in this case the knowledge of her hosts.

Well, at least that is the feeling you get from many of the comments by Kenyans on her page after one of her post insinuated that people from Kibera get drinking water straight from a filthy, polluted section of a stream.

While Kenyan’s appreciated the fact that Kibera being a slum has a poor garbage disposal system, they however felt she had gone to the extreme in stating to her followers that water for human use is obtained from such places. The replies ranged from the sarcastic to the downright mad and disgusted.

Many did remind her and others that water in all of Nairobi Kibera included is supplied by the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company.

They pointed out that while each household does not have tapped water they can and do access clean water from several central tap points buying it in gallons. Well, either Madonna chose intentionally to go for the hyperbole to elicit the requisite emotion for funding or her guide decided to misinform her because there is no way any human would survive using such filthy water for anything.

It was just plain ignorance and uncalled for given her influence and huge following she just helped continue the myth of the whole of Africa being one huge slum with no functioning systems. Here is what she shared and some of the angry responses:

After spending some time in Kibera, the queen of Pop Madonna met up with the Kenyan first lady.

The two ladies met up at the house on the hill where Madonna offered to work with the first lady’s Beyond Zero Campaign since they have a shared goal of protecting women and children. Madonna herself has founded various charities globally and supports foundations like Afghanistan Relief Organization, Amnesty International, BID 2 BEAT AIDS, Raising Malawi, Ray of Light Foundation

According release by the Office of the first lady, Madonna and her foundations will work with Beyond Zero in scaling-up maternal and child health programs as well as initiatives against gender violence.

Madonna secretly jetted into the country without the media getting wind of her arrival. She had a date with First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.

It is not clear when Madonna jetted into the 254 or how long she will be staying there. The American pop superstar, who is the founder of Raising Malawi and Goodwill Ambassador for Child Welfare, came to Kenya for reasons relating to her ambassadorial duties.

Madonna had a date with Margaret Kenyatta at State House to deliberate on issues relating to First Lady’s ‘Beyond Zero’ campaign.

Madonna pledged to work with Beyond Zero in scaling-up maternal and child health programs as well as initiatives against gender violence. She revealed Margaret and her had a common agenda in protecting women and children.

On Friday, news broke out that 8 young people had passed away after a ghastly road accident along the Kisii Kilgoris road.

Among them were two sisters Vinnah Morangi and Valeria Wangare who were raised single-handedly by their mum Rachel Muthiga after her husband passed away more than 15 years ago.

Their mum is now blaming herself for this tragic incident as she feels that if she had allowed the girls to attend the funeral of their late cousin then maybe they would have survived.

Vinnah’s and Valeria’s cousin Abel Ndirangu passed away recently and Vinnah wrote this message :

Its just sad that my best cousin….my brother my best friend is no more……i remember our dreams and plans…..when we are old enough and have our families will have ajoint get together…..and make sure each cousin comes…..i rember each december holday in our grandy’s place all the fun we always had…..go to new places eat mangoes….i cant imagn you gone forever…….still can’t accept it….i miss you Abel Saint Ndirangu…….you will always remain in my heart cuz….Rest in peace.

Demonstrators gathered in town in their numbers to protest against extrajudicial killings by the police. This comes after the discovery of the body of a missing human rights lawyer Willie Kimani who is believed to have been killed by the police together with his taxi driver and client.

Protesters carrying blood and coffins stormed Vigilant House to hammer the message home at police headquarters.

Police spokesman Charles Owino found himself in a rather messy situation as protesters festooned his uniform with blood and dragged him to the streets to protest with them. Yes. That. Happened.

Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi was at the forefront marshalling protestors as they cried for their plight to be heard.

Many heart-rending photographs have been shared in the aftermath of the devastating Kisii-Kilgoris accident that claimed the lives of young students.

21 year old Vinnah Morangi and 20 year old Valeria Wangare were among the eight people who died in the accident. Vinnah’s boyfriend also perished in the accident.
