Maisha London! 10 photos of the 11,000sq foot home belonging to gay couple who are hosting former President Obama and his wife for their holiday

Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama departed DC for their holiday destination aboard Special Air Mission (the plane is only called Air Force One when it is carrying seating US president).

The plane was supposed to land at Palm Springs International airport, California but it was diverted to March Air Force base after it failed to land due to heavy downpour.

The Obamas travelled in the Special Air Mission plane alongside their hosts; outgoing US ambassador to Spain James Costos and his husband Michael Smith who has been White House decorator since Obama ascended to power in 2008.

The gay couple will be hosting the Obamas for two weeks at their Rancho Mirage home in Palm Springs before the former first family returns to DC.

The Obamas have stayed in the couple’s Rancho Mirage home four times in the past when they traveled to Palm Springs.

Barack and Michelle are enjoying their holiday at 11,000-square-foot home of Smith and Costos which is located on 8.6 acres parcel of land.

The home has all luxuries to make a retired president feel the comfort he deserves; see the photos below:

This is why Mama Sarah Obama will continue enjoying state protection at her Siaya home despite Barack Obama having exited the White House

US 44th president stepped down on 20th January; most of the privileges his family and him used to enjoy have either been curtailed or stopped completely. Obama no longer uses Air Force One, Marine One or the Beast when he’s travelling.

As a seating US president, Obama and members of his family used to enjoy round the clock protection; he’s still under the protection of Secret Service even though the number of agents protecting him has been trimmed.

Immediately Obama ascended to power in 2008, the Kenyan government took the initiative of protecting his step-grandmother, Sarah Obama.

Guests visiting Mama Sarah’s compound in Kogelo village have to be vetted by the police before they can be allowed in.

What happens now that Barack Obama is no longer in power? Siaya County Administration Police Commandant, Ben Abuga, was quoted by Standard Digital as saying that Obama’s grandmother would retain the security attached to her Kogelo home unless his bosses ordered him to redeploy the officers.

Inside the stylishly luxurious suite that President Obama slept in while in Nairobi… You can book it for only 1.5 million a night

President Barack Obama touched down at JKIA on Friday night July 24th 2015. He was driven to Villa Rosa Kempinski where he spent the night.

The presidential suite US head of state slept in is totally magnificent; living room with a bar, dining room, rooftop with hot tub, several bedrooms etc.

The suite is very specious that it can accommodate a family of 8 people; Obama hosted his relatives there.

Any Kenyan can book the presidential suite that president Obama slept in; only if you are ready to part with Kes 1.5 million a night.

Richard Crawford did a short documentary on the presidential suite at Villa Rosa Kempinski; watch the video below:
