Choices have consequences! P Unit’s Frasha reveals why he opted to join Alfred Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap and not Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper

P Unit’s Frasha officially announced his candidature to vie for Member of County Assembly (MCA) position sometimes in January 2017.

Frasha however didn’t reveal which party he would be vying on for MCA Athi River Township, there were speculations he was joining Raila’s ODM after he was seen rubbing shoulders with ODM deputy director of elections.

Now it’s clear Frasha won’t be joining ODM, neither is he joining Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party. The P Unit rapper has instead chose to vie for Athi River Township ward on Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket.

But why did he choose Mutua over Kalonzo Musyoka who is the political kingpin of Ukambani politics?

“Today i joined Maendeleo Chap Chap due to the principles this party stand for. I will work with governor Alfred Mutua to bring the developments that he has done and replicated this to Athi river,” Frasha said.

The rapper shares a close relationship with the Machakos governor; he was rubbing shoulders with Mutua long before thought of joining active politics.

Frasha the politician: Look at the what the P-Unit Member is doing for the people of Athi River as he seeks to get elected

The early bird always catches the worm we were taught in school and clearly P-Unit’s Frasha was always attentive in class.

He’s vying for the Athi river Township MCA seat and he’s more than determined to clinch it. He is on the ground as opposed to many celebrities who would rather campaign on social media.

Under I Am Frasha foundation he has organized a medical camp in Athi River Secondary this Saturday which will seek to offer free consultation on cancer screening, VCT treatment and drugs, free physiotherapy as well as free entertainment for kids.

Now that’s the right direction if you ask me…kudos to the man.

Here is the poster to the event:

He bid farewell to the Gor Mahia fraternity is this touching message:

It’s my pleasure to take a moment to say a big word of – THANK YOU – to Gor Mahia fraternity. There comes a time when a player has to retire from active football and I am no exception as I had to do that after nine years at the club.”

“I honestly and will truly treasure all the moments we shared in the club because all through those nine seasons, I achieved what I would have yearned for as a player in local football.

“First, my appreciation goes to the Gor Mahia FC for believing in me in all those nine years where I offered my services as a goalkeeper. Gor Mahia made me who I am and for that, I owe the club a great deal. THANK YOU.

“To my team mates, thanks for the good and bad times we shared together as a team. The hard work and discipline that saw us achieve what was admired by many should continue because success is all you can be proud of as a player. Whatever you achieve in your career will go a long way in life.”

“To all Gor Mahia fans, a big thank you for the role you play within Gor Mahia circles. You are a true picture of what fans should be to a team. Your massive support is a huge element in every step the team makes and I am urging you to keep the fire burning. Be close to the team and support all players all through no matter what the situation is.”

“To my family and relatives, thanks a lot for the big support you’ve offered all through my football career,” he concluded.

Ghafla wishes him well in his new endeavours.

Frasha is among a few celebrities that have decided to seek elective posts in 2017 general election. He has however aligned himself with a not-so-popular candidate in Ukambani politics.

Kalonzo Musyoka is the kingpin of Ukambani politics; you would think everyone from Ukambani with political ambitions would be dashing to align themselves with the former VP, but not Frasha.

The P Unit rapper has chosen Raila Odinga over Kalonzo; he was seen in a meeting with Bob Njagi, ODM deputy director of elections.

Mr. Njagi made an announcement that defined Frasha’s political future after meeting the rapper last week.

“With Frasha a musician from the famed record breaking group P-UNIT. He has his eyes set to become a Hon member of the county assembly (ODM) in Athi-river ward (2017-2022) where he was born and raised.” Bob Njagi posted on social media.
