A few weeks ago, Alliance High School Principal David Kariuki was forced to quit amid investigations after it was reported that the school administration covered up incidents of bullying which was done to form one students by prefects.

Another top school in Kenya – Maseno School has also been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Incidents of sodomy have been reported at Maseno School one too many times.

Teachers Service Commission was forced to send long-serving Maseno School Principal Paul Otula on a 30-day compulsory leave.

The disciplinary action followed allegations that he may have failed to stop sexual molestation and bullying at prestigious national school.

Students in Maseno School yesterday March 15th went on strike after they got news that their principal had been interdicted.

The irate students chased journalist who had gone to cover the strike, they threw stones and accused them of negative reporting on their school.

Some students carried placards written “BABA OTUSH MUST RETURN”. Some were brave enough to cover their faces as they caused fracas.

Shock and fear has engulfed the prestigious Maseno School and this is after a woman reported that her brother had been sodomised by 3 form 3 and 4 boys.

The story as narrated by Rachael Njogu tells of how their brother is currently in a bad physical and mental state after undergoing the harrowing experience of being gang raped by fellow boys.

According to the Rachael, their elder sister who lives with the boy they got a call from the school administration sighting that the boy was very sick and he urgently needed medical attention. They sent Ksh 4000 which was used to cater for the medical bills.

After a couple of days, the administration called again saying that the boy’s condition had gotten worse and they needed to fetch him and take him to a hospital for specialized care.

Their elder brother went to the school and that’s when the boy confessed that he had been gang raped. The brother apparently reported to the nearby police station and then took him to hospital.

We called Maseno in regards to the matter and according to Agnes, the school secretary, they were fully aware of the news which according to them was just pure malice. According to her, the boy had a bladder issue and the school was suggesting that they pick up another school so as to manage the situation from home.

They didn’t want that because the boy is under the Equity Bank Wings to Fly Foundation and they feared withdrawal from the school would lead to termination of the sponsorship so they maligned the school’s name to get sympathy.

She insisted the school is in communication with the relevant authorities and they would be taking action soon.
