Octopizzo the entrepreneur… he is slowly creating his clothing line. Check it out.

No wonder guys were all up in Octopizzo’s allegations of being a member of the Illuminati. The guy has so many businesses that success just can’t help but follow him around. To those with the claims, I say get your hustle on and let Master Mason do his thing.

Slowly building his empire, he has opened various businesses such as his own touring company called ‘Chocolate City Tours’, his own stall for clothes among others. He has now added his own clothing line to his list of businesses.

Last week I shared with you some of the Snapbacks that bare his name and are currently doing good in the market.

Octo has now added tops in his set of customised clothes for sale (OCTOPIZZO WEAR), both for males and females and I have to say that they look really good. I wouldn’t mind having one for myself. They also come in different colours and designs, the choice is yours.

This is the next big tune in the gospel industry

Sensational award winning artiste Jimmy Gait will be launching his new song ‘Oleey oleey’ featuring talented gospel rapper

Holy Dave and this year’s best dancing group, Altamin Dancers by the end of this week.

Jimmy confirmed to us that it’s a motivational song that is intended to motivate many people not to give up even when there is no money, but to believe in God and oneself. Anything is possible when we believe.

The song is a fusion of Lingala, West Africa and Niger, but gospel’s hip hop sensation Holy Dave complement it with a hip hop swagg.

Prezzo begs Goldie for a kiss… I smell family drama

A day or so after Prezzo was bragging about his wife and family to Barbs, he now had to go and beg for Goldie to give him more kisses. He has proven to be mischievous, and I’m liking this drama that will soon follow.

It was at midnight last night when Prezzo and Goldie were getting very comfortable on the patio and opening up about themselves and how much they trust eachother, when Prezzo asked for a kiss from the Nigerian lady.

Goldie landed a peck on Prezzo’s cheek, little did she know that she was starting something she wasn’t sure if she could finish. Prezzo insisted for more kisses only to get more pecks on the cheek. He escorted her to her room and that was the end of their night together.

goldie kiss

I’m not sure which turn their relationship will take but one thing is evident though. Someone will end up hurt and I hope it won’t be Prezzo’s family.

The 7 Funkiest Celebrity Websites in Kenya

Websites and social media have become an integral part in a music artist’s career and quest to push their music and their brand in an increasingly competitive scope in Kenya.

Entertainment industry gurus and celebrities have to keep up with international trends and further their reach not just to local fans but also to potential international ones as the global music industry becomes close knit and seeks for ‘connected’ artistes.

It is important then that as an artist of any scope, you keep your fans in the loop of what’s going on in not just your music but your life, so that fans may corelate with you and become more loyal to your brand. We’ve picked out some websites which we think stand out in Kenya for both their design and the effort to connect with fans. Here they are:

NoniniMusic.com

web nonini
His website features regular updates and sneek peaks, including professionally done videography about his social responsibility campaigns such as Colour Kwa Face. When he has musical releases, the first place to get the videos or audios is on his site.

Regular features as on most international artiste sites are present, such as Downloads, Gallery, Biography and Press features with captions from his mentions in both local and international media outlets. You can also register and log into the site to get a fuller experience and leave comments or subscription notices.

Octopizzo.com

web octo
The automatic audio feature on the site announces that you have arrived at a hip hop site, and the layout is user friendly and simple. Features included are events, a gallery and direct feedback access for fans as you can send your shoutouts or comments and also find out more about the rapper on the site.

ThisisCreme.com

web creme
This website is more or less an entertainment news site which utilizes the top DJs connections and keeps his fans up to date with what he has been upto.

In addition to the news features, downloads are available as well as trending music and galleries of your favourite celebrities.

JulianiOnline.com

web juliani
This relatively new website is quite breathtaking, and we appreciate it more for its design qualities than the content, which we hope will steadily grow. The website is more of a portal for fans to register their neighbourhoods and participate in various competitions the artiste has.

He takes his youth empowerment seriously, with the Kama Si Sisi movement updates and press releases featured on the site. Mostly though, you can also connect to his official social media accounts on sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

ParkingLotGrass.com

web parking
The design and layout of this website is undoubtedly attractive, with regular news features and updates keeping the look fresh and urban.

There are portals to check out tour dates and gigs as well as recurrent galleries as well as a comprehensive biography. You can also listen to their music via a nifty audio widget on the site.

StellaMwangi.com

web stl
This girl definitely does get busy, with tours and constant travel across two continents and one of the most vibrant social media footprints of any artiste in the region, STL keeps her fans in the loops of all that goes on.

Her site is extensively linked to her Facebook and YouTube accounts as she involves Team-STL in her life, which is why she has a firm online following and leading hits on her video links. On her website you can make your bookings as well as find out more about her or her music.

JoeMfalme.com

web joe mfalme

This is one busy DJ, from the constant hit mixes he releases to this comprehensive website that keeps his fans up to date with what he is upto. The website has a large collection of his mixes and available downloads as well as tour dates and galleries.

His social network scope is also up to scratch as the site is linked to his Twitter and Facebook accounts, with an active fanbase that regularly tweets, comments and downloads.

Queen Elizabeth was entertained by Kenyan traditional musicians at Diamond Jubilee Pageant

Kenyan traditional musicians got a rare chance to entertain Queen Elizabeth 11 during an event that she was hosting at Windsor castle.

The Queen was hosting a champagne reception at the Cultural Pavilion for Charity donors where upon entering, she was met by lovely sounds from Kenyan traditional singers.

The Kenyans were invited to perform at the Diamond Jubilee pageant show. This event marks 60 years of Her Majesty’s reign over the United Kingdom and also as the head of Commonwealth.

The Kenyan Choir was the last to perform at the event where they closed the show with some entertaining pieces.

Julie Gichuru is now producing movies.

Citizen TV presenter and most viewers’ favorite, Julie Gichuru has now made her movie carrier official. We have always known her to be in front of the cameras, smiling and presenting news in the most comfortable and professional way. Now, she is sitting behind the cameras to produce movies.

This is great. We all thought her interesting and fan after she collaborated with Bob Collimore, Jeff Koinange and Jimmy Gait in the furi furi dance remix. Turns out that she is way more interesting. Who thought that the lady loved making movies?

Julie is a partner with the film production house, Imagine, and through it she has produced the movie ‘Kimya’ which is about corruption in the government and how one man is planning to expose it all.

She has also produced a TV series titled ‘Maisha’ that is soon to be aired on one of the TV stations and promises to be more interesting than most shows on Kenyan television. We just can’t wait for this.

Is Prezzo playing his cards right in Big Brother house?

The whole Africa is talking about Kenya’s representative in the Big Brother house. He has been bringing drama in the Upville especially

when he frequently attacks South African representative.

Do you think our own CMB Prezzo is playing his cards right or he should change his tactics?

South African fans are so annoyed with Prezzo to the extent of calling him abusive names. Kenyans are happy with their man because they see him as the person who will bring the price money home.

Prezzo is one of the most liked people in Upville by his fellow contestants although there are some who hate him especially after he told Barbz that she is too old to not be married with kids.

Barbz accused Prezzo of being afraid of her during her diary private session, but I think she should just be brave enough and tell Prezzo instead of back biting him. Prezzo manned up when he apologized to her, why then should Barbz say that God is the one who forgives and yet she tearfully accepted the sweet apology on camera.

Either guys hate on Prezzo or not, he is still our 254 representative, and will support him.

The exclusive Genesis Party which took place at the Piano Bar in Nairobi on the 27th of April 2012 was indeed a classic and vintage affair, with attendees splashing out their best bib and tucker.

The rustique background of the upmarket venue was the perfect setting for this evidently luxurious affair, open only to Go Place Privilege card holders as well as some VVIPS.

Kenya to Wait Longer For HD TV

Kenya’s highly anticipated move from analogue to digital TV and radio broadcasting has been postponed further by the Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK).

The changeover, which was due for June this year, was aimed at moving all the TV and radio signals out of the hands of individual suppliers to a single distribution network which would be controlled by a state owned company known as Signet.
Had it been on time, this would have made Kenya only the second country in Africa, after South Africa, to go digital almost three years ahead of the global deadline of 2015. The postponement has pushed Kenya’s goal of going digital to the year 2013.
‘Digital transmission would not be possible for now, as not all Kenyans would be able to access set top boxes for receiving the signals,’ said Francis Wangusi, the CCK Director General. He went on to state that a second signal distributor would have to be sought, as not even by December this year would they have covered the whole country in the expected rollout.
The switch to digital broadcasting will alter the way transmission in Kenya is carried out, as a single digital broadcaster would provide the signal to be distributed across different platforms, instead of each station having individual equipment to broadcast.
This would automatically shift the focus of programming to quality, as the costs of setting up and transmitting content would be drastically reduced. Hopefully, the channels will now invest more in quality local programming and help build our local content.
Digital broadcasting is said to deliver clearer pictures and better audio quality, as we may see local stations go ‘HD’ much like what we see in America today, which has already undergone the digital change. An analogue broadcast like what we currently have limits the number of channels that can broadcast as well as disrupts the quality of audio and video transmission.
By the end of this year, all UK transmission broadcasts are expected to have switched to digital.

This is the best ever patriotic song about Kenya

‘My land is Kenya’ is a patriotic song that will always remind you how lucky we are to have such a beautiful country. When Roger Whittaker,

who is an English- Kenyan singer/songwriter sang this beautiful well crafted song just for Kenya, he trully gave us a reason of being proud of our country.

He was born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1963 and since then his love for his motherland is great, I think he is a living example that no matter the tribe, colour or social class, we still are Kenyans.

I think this the best patriotic song about Kenya. If we didn’t have a national anthem, there is no doubt it would be voted as one.

secular music, but this time round Bwana Ngoma (Ulopa) has shifted to singing gospel music.

If you missed Prezzo trashing Barbs, here it is.

This was part of the BBA weekend drama that marked the start of the hype in the Upville House. You have to admit that before this, these celebrities were really boring. Just chatting about boring stuff.

Prezzo and Barbs are however bringing some heat in the house with all their drama. Last Saturday we all saw how she attacked South Africa’s Barbs mercilessly, talking about how old and single she is, and how she will never get married.

Prezzo seemed a little drunk with his sluggish speech but it just made it more interesting. If you missed this, check it out right here. Prezzo goes hard!

WTH! Club Click murder might have been over a woman!

It was really sad to hear about the reveller who was shot dead at Club Click. Apparently, the club owner had a brawl with the reveller before drugging him out of the club, helped by the club bouncers, to the roof top where they shot him in cold blood. Read story here.

The story has now just turned sadder after discovery that the quarrel that lead to the brutal death of the reveller might have been because of a woman that was involved with the both of them, as the father of the boy, Mr. Otieno narrates in an interview with the media.

To lose a life to jelousy, especially that caused by a woman… is just not worth it. Investigations are still ongoing and soon the shooter will pay for his crime.

Condolences to Mr. Otieno and family.

Check out the interview below.

Rappers share their hilarious hangover incidents through song. Awesome!

Five lyrically lethal rappers teamed up to narrate their experience of one (imaginary) wild night that turned into a crazy morning. Kind of something like the movie Hangover, except this is the rap version.

Rappers Abbas Kubaff, Kayvo Kforce, 6Foot, VooDoo Seller and Dirty Damu collaborated on this track that takes us through the shocking morning full of discoveries of the previous night that was apparently the craziest night they’ve ever had.

The verses are delivered back-to-back by the rappers, in a conversation kind of way which makes it even more interesting.

The track is produced by the Headbangaz International studio and has just been released/uploaded one hour ago, so you know that you are among the first to have a listen to it.

I’d hate to have experienced what these guys went through. Just check it out.

Prezzo helplessly stares at Mampi dancing… mouth wide open!LOL!

BBA Upville Housemates got tired of being extremely boring and decided to liven up things. So on Saturday, the turned the house into something like Jamaica’s PASAPASA.

Almost everybody danced but non could be compared to Zambia’s Mampi. She was even crowned the best dancer. Beyonce got nothing on this one and Prezzo knows this too.

We all watched him drool over Mampi as she did her thing on the floor. Prezzo could not help but stare with mouth wide open and dreamy eyes, full of thoughts that we’d rather not know.

I’m serious. I really am. Check him out.

G-Kon’s house cleaned out by “chipoz”

We have all heard stories involving treacherous “chipoz” aye?

If you haven’t then here’s one. G-Kon one of the rappers that gave us “Furu Furu!” was robbed over the weekend by lasses he’s taken home for the night.

After a night of um… how do i hang an air freshener on this… after a night of fitness excersises, he left said “fans” at his place as any gentleman would seeing as he had an early morning engagement (he had to travel to Meru for a performance).

Apparently, the lasses cleaned out his entire house! Yup, they left him with nothing! They stole everything!

If that isn’t a bad way to start your Sunday: walking home to an empty house, then i don’t know what is!

here’s to hoping he will recover financially from this in no time.

Kenya-Born Musician Successful in the UK

Tracing some international artistes with roots in Kenya, I came across a rather interesting musician who uses ingenious beats and rythmn to piece together unique sounds that set him apart from conventional artistes.

Meet MC Xander, a British musician and producer who is well known for making music using only his voice and a loopstation, and more often than not, the results just leave you with your mouth open.

Describing the sounds he makes as ‘progressive dancehall’, Xander  predominately juggles between the genres of dubstep, dance, electronica and hip hop, as his lyrical flow is nothing short of spectacular.

Born in 1983 in Kenya, he moved to Scotland where he grew up and went to school, studying Commercial Music at the University of Westminster. It would be interesting to have such niche degrees available in Kenya to help our aspiring musicians as well to fine tune their skills.

Xander is next set to perform at the Indiscreet Festival in Cheltenham in the UK on 19th May 2012. Have a look at one of his performances in the video below…

Shaffie and girlfriend fighting?

So once again Shaffie is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

According to Steven Meundo of Standard Media, Shaffie’s girlfriend from atop the hill has been talking greasy about the media personality.

The journalist quotes an anonymous source who happens to be a blogger who claims to have overheard Shaffie’s lass. Apparently, the lass claims that she is the real celeb in the relationship and that apparently she is the real money in the union. All this was to her company of girlfriends.

Apparently, Shaffie wasn’t too thrilled to hear the whispers when they eventually treackled to him -then again who would be?

Pinky Ghelani’s ordeal before giving birth to her precious daughter

When sensational diva Wahu sang ‘my sweet love’, no one could understand that motherly feeling apart from real mothers. 13th May was mothers’ day, and here at Ghafla we celebrate former Capital FM presenter Pinky

Ghelani for sharing her pain with other women after several miscarriages.

Pinky talked to True Love magazine of what she went through before giving birth to her 2 year old daughter.

The former Capital FM presenter couldn’t imagine when the doctor told her that she had lost her first pregnancy when she had gone for her eight week pregnancy scan. Pinky had to here from other Doctors for her to believe that she had lost the pregnancy.

Pinky agrees that it’s very painful to a mother when she loses a child regardless the stage in their life (unborn, infant, one year etc). This experience always makes a mother blame her self first, and then questions God for what has happened.

The reason that we should celebrate Pinky Ghelani is because she hard to endure this horrible ordeal thrice before she could give birth to her daughter. Ask any woman who has been through this, and she will be able to explain that horrible feeling.

Pinky’s advice to mothers who have miscarried is to mourn because it’s very important.  They should accept in order for them to move on.

CMB Prezzo proved to the whole world that Kenyan men can be so loving and caring when he decided to apologize to

South African BBA celeb representative Barbz.

Prezzo’s apology made the beautiful South African lady to cry as she couldn’t imagine that the Kenyan man could be this humbled after all the insults she got from him.

Prezzo told Barbz that he didn’t mean all the hurtful things he said claiming that if he could, he would buy her flowers and cards to prove just how much he was sincere.

According to BBA website, Prezzo and Barbz kissed and made up, hopefully for real.
