Only 21 days left before the cessation of applying to be the next Big Brother Africa contestant

Last year, Prezzo, Malonza and Alex represented the country in the continental reality TV game show that usually ends with the winner bagging millions of Ksh.

However, this is not the usual reality shows that we are so used to. Being expected to live your life with a bunch of stranger for around three months, while the entire world watches you 24/7, is no easy task.

Think this is just child’s play. Ask the man Prezzo himself. Even he couldn’t keep it together when times were rough in the BBA house. He had to humble and break down in tears infront of all his fans and family. When planning to join the housemates, you just have to be prepared for the worst as you try to hold on to the money (after all, isn’t that what took you there in the first place?).

Looking on the bright side, the epic adventure that the housemates get to go through in those three months is memorable. Not to mention all the advantages and privileges that follow you after you exit the house, whether you win or not.

There are only 21 more days left to fill and submit the application form to becoming the next Kenyan representative for the oncoming Big Brother Africa games.

Apply here.

Need A Plan? Changes Got You Covered! Platinum Thursday All The Way!

If you need a plan for tonight, then fret not! uncle Chim Tuna has you covered!

Platinum Thursday has been lighting up the otherwise drab Westlands Thursday nights. And with the offers they have, you have absolutely no excuse for not stepping out and enjoying yourselves. Beers will go at 135/- if you spend 400 seeing as you’ll get 3 beers. Johnie Walker, Tequila and Vodka atots will be 100/= all night! And if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, then fret not,  Zappa will be sold at @ 50 a shot.
But the caveat emptor is that you have to be in the house between 8pm-12midnight. Its a #PlatinumThursday only when you top it all off with awsome music and seeing as Kaytrixx will be on the decks, i believe that’s sorted out!

So as i said, you have no excuse not to turn up and make sure you dey sharp sharp! And make sure even your boys don commot! Come out and enjoy a Platinum Night!

Check out Camp Mulla’s ‘Niko na Safaricom Live Tour’ concert in Nairobi

Camp Mulla toured the entire country for a couple of months late last year, courtesy of Niko Na Safaricom Live.

They went through counties like Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu just to mention a few and the show that they gave their fans in all these counties was brilliant. If the reaction of the fans on the ground was anything to go by, then Camp Mulla killed it!

What is even better about all these is that they were performing with a live band. You don’t see Camp Mulla perform with a live band often, so you know this was something else.

Been hearing a lot about these guys not being able to hold it down well at their live concerts. After attending their Niko Na Safaricom Live Tour concert in Nairobi, I think not. These guys perform good. Atleast in this concert.

Check it out below and tell us what you think about it.

1 FM Owner & Henry Kosgey’s Son Joins Politics

Alexander Kimutai Kigen Kosgey or Alex Kosgey as he’s popularly known, began his political journey successfully last week by clinching the Emgwen Parliamentary ticket in the URP nominations. Alex is the owner of OneFM (97.1) and its sister station, Hits FM (91.5).

He is also the son to ODM’s chairman Henry Kosgey. And one thing you can’t fail to notice is that he’s vying for the political seat on a URP ticket, a political party that’s part of the coalition that is in direct competition with his father’s party. All the same, Alex won the URP nominations for the Emgwen parliamentary seat by beating six contenders.

OneFM has experienced massive growth since its inception 2 years ago and brags for being Nairobi’s premier all local and urban radio station. Alex now joins the list of radio station owners who are also politicians.

Eric Wainaina Performs At Opening Ceremony of Africa’s Biggest Sporting Event (video)

You know you’ve made in music when you’re picked to perform alongside the biggest names in music in Africa. Such is the success story of the celebrated singer Eric Wainaina. The soulful Kenyan musician was among the selected artistes that headlined the Orange African Cup of Nations 2013 opening ceremony in South Africa.

Other sizzling performances came from Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse, Judith Sephuma, SIphokazi, Afurakan, Lira, Ringo , Ayanda Nhlangoti and Sibongile Khumalo.  Their respective performances and collaborations were a vivid example of the vibrancy of African culture as they belted out old favorites and new compositions – in a nod to the contemporary and traditional aspects of our culture.

Braving the rain that drizzled throughout the ceremony, the performers took to the field with enthusiasm, bringing to life the event’s theme “Celebrate Africa – The Beat at Africa’s Feet.” Watch the performances below;

Kajairo is back with his funny parodies. First off, ‘chop my money’

The man Kajairo was at his peak back when the comedy Intrukalass was still airing on our TV stations. Back then, he was actually bigger than most Kenyan artistes.

He took hits and turned them into hilarious parodies that later became more popular than the original songs. That was just his type of comedy and after trying out stand-up comedy, Kajairo has seen it fit to just stick to what he does best. Music parodies.

He is now officially back in business and the video for his first track has already been released.

Kajairo has done a re-make of P-Square and Akon’s ‘chop my money’ and named it ‘choma mgondi’. As usual, he nailed it through his comic lyrics.

Check out the video for the track below.

Read the Something Necessary review here. Below is a synopsis of the film:

“Something Necessary is an intimate moment in the life of Anne, a woman struggling to rebuild her life after the civil unrest that swept Kenya after the 2008 elections claiming the life of her husband, the health of her son and leaving her isolated farm in ruins.

Joseph, a troubled young gang member who participated in the countrywide violence is drawn to Anne and her farm seemingly in search of redemption.

Both he and Anne need something that only the other can give to allow them to shed the painful memories of their past and move on – but will either of them find it?”

Kenya’s Kim Kardashian, Huddah Monroe Opens Up About Her Childhood On Str8 Up!

Ladies and gentlemen, Huddah Monroe was recently on Str8 Up with the show’s hosts Ian Mugoya and Tamima shooting the breeze about a couple of topics and she also basically sought to set the record straight on some issue.

I found it funny how they skirted around mentioning Ghafla when they were discussing topics about stories we’d exclusively broken or carried about Ms. Huddah. It was also funny watching an clearly excited ian Mugoya animatedly introduce Huddah with 3 different adjectives as he stumbled through the introduction. Maybe that has to do with the fact that they share history (read kiss).

<Lips loaded, locked and ready to go!>
Anyway, the convo became alot more interesting when they asked Huddah why she chose the name Huddah Monroe for her persona. She begun a teary discourse on how hard life was for her… Nope! Not even close. No tears and no emotional recollection. But she explained that her childhood was rough. Her family apparently had a tough financial situation. From there, she simply drew a parrallel to Marilyn Monroe.
Personally, i like Tupac believe that the rose that grows through the concrete is even more beautiful. And it’s never about where you’re from. Rather, it’s about where you’re headed and from her overwhelming popularity for the BBA 8 representative, she just might be headed to the BBBA 8 house.

Sonko Calls Out Bishop Margaret Wanjiru on Live TV (video)

So last night Citizen TV hosted the youthful immediate former Makadara MP, Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko. Earlier, the station had indicated that it would interview the leading candidates in the Nairobi senate seat, Sonko and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.

The show was expected to be similar to the one featuring Evans Kidero and Ferdinand Waititu held last Sunday only for it to end in an anti-climax as Bishop Wanjiru did not turn up. All the same the interview went on as scheduled and as much as he tried restricting himself from going in on the bishop, Sonko could not restrict calling out her.

Sonko was evidently “armed” for the interview as he carried his education certificates to the studio. He also explained some of his actions that some people considered heinous. Here is Mike Sonko’s video of the interview;

Brenda Wairimu About to Share Something Important with Her Fans

Actress and model, Brenda Wairimu, has for the past one month been posting updates with the hashtag #BBB as she counts down to something she will share on the 1st of February.

Well, if we guess right from her 2013 customized calender, BBB stands for Believe, Begin, Become but she has teased our minds enough we had to dig in more. Only six days are left before shares her next project with her fans.

@B_Wairimu So, its just SIX days to the release of the #BBB project, a step towards the rest of my career. I can’t wait to share it with you guys!

Our guess here at Ghafla! is that the MALI and SHUGA actor might be releasing a track. What do you think it might be?

Ghafla POLL: Who Is Kenya’s King Wa Rap?

Everyone and their uncles have been claiming the throne and the crown! From Collo calling himself King Wa Rap to Octo asserting that he is the future of Kenyan hiphop and pundits have backed his claim.

But enough is enough! You as Ghafla readers get the last word. It’s time we sort out the chaff from the wheat! It’s time the title goes to the real king and we turn to the pretenders and command, “Leave dis place!”.

Who is the real king of Kenyan rap? Is it Abbas the mercurial wordsmith? Or is it his partner in crime the prodigal son Bamboo? Or is it the new kid on the block; militant minded Octo? Or is it Kaka Sungura the story telling, tongue twisting, wordplay wonder? Or is it the eclectic, experimental, authoritative Collo?

Have your say!

Ghafla POLL Result: Which Celeb Do You Think Should Represent Kenya In BBA?

On Tuesday i asked you who you’d want to see represent Kenya in the BBA house and the response was overwhelming!

Imela! Thank you! But enough of the “ma-feelings”. Let’s get it in! Who do you think won? Hmm? Ehe! The person you think won didn’t! The least likely individual won but i think i know why. This individual isn’t shy to get wrapped up in controversy. They do not shy away from making their statement heard or gerrinitin when they feel offended.

But enough of that inane banter! Oya make you dey read these results!

Who should represent Kenya in BBA?

John Oballa – 17.2%

Huddah Monroe – 35.7%

Bonoko – 18.2%

Ian Mugoya – 15.7%

Nonini – 13.2%

Huddah Monroe seems to have gotten overwhelming support. But My personal favourite Bonoko-deh didn’t fare too badly! He came in 2nd, just slighty ahead of 3rd placed John Oballa. Ian Mugoya was 4th and Noni came in tugging the rear.

VIDEO: Amileena – Hali Mahututi

Right after her return from the the Out Of Africa musical troupe that toured Europe for most of the last half of 2012, Amileena got right to work and released her next single.

Hali Mahututi is her latest track and barely a month after, the video is already out. The video was shot immediately after her return. The release was set to take place at Amileena Unplugged, the TPF runner-up’s show. Amileena hosts King wa Rap mwenyewe, Collo, in the single.

The video is presented by Bernsoft and a production of Psyche Media Productions. Hali Mahututi is directed by Randy Ngala. Check it out below.

24th January 2013: Ten things you should know this morning

What’s good guys? Here’s a recap of the stories that you should know this morning;

#1 Remember Vera? The bootylicious chic from “You Guy” video? You’ll never guess which luxury car she owns! Take a look.

#2 In yet another Vera story, she recently revealed how much you must pay her if you want her to appear in your video.

#3 Ogopa DJ’s seasonal singer Kenzo is facing jail time for allegedly stealing a song from another artiste despite being cautioned against it.

#4 This is just hilarious. Check out Larry Asego’s notice to his neighbours.

#5 They say home is where the heart is and this was witnessed a couple of days ago when a former top NTV anchor made his way back to the station after leaving.

#6 If you are a Nairobian you must have done these 21 things at least once if not daily.

#7 Here’s yet another creative President Kibaki wordplay thanks to the genius producer Cedo.

#8 An artiste sues ODM for damages after the party failed to honour the terms of the contract entered.

#9 Take a look at this photo of Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto doing the Gangnam Style!

#10 Bamboo alleges that Octopizzo is nowhere near Abbas Kubaff when it comes to skills.

There you have it. Keep it here for more scoop.

Bamboo: Octopizzo is nowhere near Abbas Kubaff when it comes to skills

So we have been all over this beef that both artistes have been claiming is non-existent and that nothing is going on between them.

That’s all good. However, after Abbas and Octopizzo almost exchanged blows at out investor’s (88MPH) event, it is clear that something is definitely burning here.

As we were recently shooting our interview with K-South (Abbas and Bamboo), I thought it would be interesting to find out what Bamboo thought about all these. His was simple.

“Skill-wise, you can’t compare the two. Abbas is definitely way better. I think everybody knows that. I just think he’s using Abbas to make a name. He sees an opportunity, he’s hungry, he does his thing,” Bamboo told Ghafla!Kenya.

Abbas explains why Chantelle did not rap in the remix of her own track, ‘toklezea’

When the Three Kings project was established, it was immediately put to work. Incase you are not familiar with this ‘Three Kings’ title, it is the collaboration of three great Kenyan rappers (Prezzo, Abbas and Bamboo) sponsored by Pilsner King of Bold.

I think the first musical project they have done is in the remix of the hit track ‘Toklezea’ which was originally done by Chantelle and Abbas.

When this remix was released, some of Chantelle’s fans, including our very own loud Uncle Chim Tuna, felt as though Chantelle was pushed out of her own works.

We recently had an exclusive interview interview with the rapper, Abbas and this is what he had to say about it.

“Chantelle is my close friend. It’s just that when we were doing the project, she didn’t have time to come through when we were recording in the studio. We however did not leave her out because she is still the one singing the chorus,” Abbas cleared.

Check out the interview below.

JB Now Turns The Heat To Bonoko & Mbusi

After trolling Str8-Up’s Ian Mugoya, Comedy Club’s JB and Allan have now turned the heat to Ghetto radio’s Mbusii and Bonoko. Enacting “AIR Goteana” show, the two comedians perfectly pull off this piece you’d actually think it is Mbusii and Bonoko.

Interviewing, “Beba Beba” actor Generali, JB and Allan employ the deep slang that Mbusii and Bonoko use leaving Generali lost for words as he cannot grasp a word from the conversation. At some point JB even tells him that he will not understand when he complains that he does not get anything.

Watch this hilarious clip as Mbusii and Bonoko get roasted below;

Abbas and Bamboo during their ratchet times (photo)

Seeing where these two hip hop gurus came from and where they are now, not to mention how bright the future looks for them, it is evident that their hard work has manifested.

This is Abbas and Bamboo way back when they were still starting off their music career, before they made money and got all the fame they have now.

I bet an interesting story is behind this photo. Let us get our hands on it (click photo to enlarge).

Abbas and Bamboo tell us what it was like performing as K-South for the first time after many years

It’s been seven years since Bamboo left Kenya for the States and when he came back, he dove straight back to music. In his own words, it was like he never left.

Immediately Bamboo flew back into the country, he Abbas got in touch and did not waste any time at all in reviving the legendary hip hop group that they had formed many years ago while still living in Kariobangi.

K-South was once again on its feet and its first project became the Three Kings which was a sponsored collaboration project by Pilsner Ice, in which K-South musically worked with Kenya’s king of bling, Prezzo hand in hand.

It is through this projects that the three were able to give reveller a thrilling performance for the first time as a group. Never before have I witnessed so much energy expelled from these three artistes. This was a major concert they pulled at the Prestige Plaza based Pilsner King of Bold Party.

Turns out that what we the fans went through during their electrifying concert, which was basically bliss for any hip hop head, was nothing compared to what Abbas and Bamboo felt performing for the fans as K-South again.

A legendary reunion for a legendary hip hop group. That’s what this was.

Check out what they had to say about the concert below.

Artiste Takes ODM to Court

This article first appeared on our sister site, HiviSasa.

An artist yesterday moved to a Nairobi court seeking orders to compel Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga and ODM to pay him Sh6 million for songs he composed for the party’s campaigns.

Alphonsius Nyasetia wants the court to stop ODM from using his two songs in their campaigns.

Nyasetia, in his application, told the court that ODM’s Sibanduki secretariat officials approached him last year March and requested him to compose songs for Raila’s presidential bid.

Nyasetia said that accepted the deal and composed two songs, Agwambo and Sibanduki which he performed at various campaign rallies organised by the party where more than 400 CDs of the songs were sold.

The artist added that Sibanduki is headed by Ms Ida and Masha wa Maitha who are yet to pay him yet ODM are still using his songs in it campaign rallies.

Justice Jonathan Havelock certified the case as urgent and directed Mr Nyasetia to serve ODM, Ida and Maitha with court papers before the hearing of the case. Justice Havelock ordered for the case to be heard on January 31 this year.

EABL Launches Countrywide Pool Tournament

East African Breweries Limited through its Pilsner brand has launched a national consumer pool competition, dubbed League of Kings Pool Challenge in the hunt for a Kenyan representative to the World Pool Championships in England.

The three-month countrywide tournament is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants, with the ultimate winner taking home a cash prize of Kshs. 250,000 and a trip to London where s/he will play at the 2013 World Eight Pool Championship in England.

Pilsner’s last foray in the sport was a decade ago, in the Simba wa Kenya Pilsner Pool Challenge. It will take place in five regions: Central (covering Kiambu, Nairobi and lower Eastern part of the country), Western (covering Nyanza, Western and Rift Valley provinces), Mountain (covering Central and upper Eastern provinces) and the Coast.  The Armed Forces zone is categorised as a special region that will have major armed forces barracks pitted against each other.

The final winner, representing Kenya on the global stage in June 2013, will emerge from a rigorous competition that will be churned from preliminary stages over months of February and March, followed by knockout games at the regionals in April, with the national levels and grand finale in May.

DNA takes ‘Maswali ya Polisi’ to Nakuru

DNA is one of the biggest artistes in Kenya right now and with good reason. He has like what, two hit songs that are currently bringing down the clubs? Not to mention a new Grandpa collaboration track that is on the way and is already expected to be a major hit.

With stats like these, it is only right if you not only have shows in your county like DNA has been doing, but also around the whole country.

With that said, the ‘banjuka’ fame artiste will be performing at the Samba Kitoko Club in Nakuru this 31st of January.

The concert is ofcourse sponsored by Grandpa Records and will be kicking off from 8PM till dawn.

MC of the night will be MC Refigah and entry goes for only Sh. 200.

Gospel artiste Holy Dave back in the day (photo)

Arguably one of the most eloquent Kenyan gospel rappers with a style of his own, Holy Dave has been around and bout the Kenyan music scene.

He has also been through his share of controversies but all that is behind us now.

Just found out that he is one of those that record very little change as they grow up. Doesn’t he currently look just as he did when he was still a little boy?

Avril to Give Her Untitled Track a Name Today

Avril recently released her latest single but the track has been on air without a title. The singer asked her fans to help her come up with title for the song.

The top three suggestions were Sitaki Mwingine, Hakuna Yule and Missing You. Other suggestions include My Joy My Happiness, Bang Bang Bang, Mapenzi Pap, Ugali Nyama, Mi Amor. Avril will announce her preferred choice for the title on Willy M. Tuva’s Mambo Mseto show this afternoon. Tune in before 4:00 p.m. to find out.

The Ogopa Deejays signee is currently promoting her latest single, a follow-up to Kitu Kimoja, just a few weeks after she released her brand of earphones, Gs & Fs by Avril.

21 Things Every Nairobian Has Done At Least Once

For some time now “The Social African” has been bearing some crazy stuff thanks to its author Viazi Mbichi (that name though). We could not help notice this particular post that potrays a typical Nairobian. Take a look;

1. Used the words “Me I”

2. Pressed the Lift Button more than Once when in a Hurry

3. Downloaded Pirated Music

4. Exchanged words with a ‘Ma3’ conductor

5. Spent at least 2 hours in the Jam

6. Used Traffic Jam as an excuse for being late even when it isn’t

7. Used a Cyber Café

8. Got soaked wet in the Nairobi Rain.

9. Felt the wrath of an unexpected Pothole

10. Bought an item from ‘Mtumba’

11. After buying the item from ‘Mtumba’, realized could have bought it for half the price elsewhere.

12. Caught the Nairobi Flu

13. Wished they could work in a different town

14. Saved someone in their phone as ‘Don’t pick’

15. Skipped Church on a Sunday

16. Tried to ‘Tweng’

17. Looked back when you heard, “Pssst Pssst!” on the street

18. Passed in front of Hilton Hotel

19. Encountered either ‘Kanjo’ or Traffic cops or ‘Ngeta’ guys or more than one of the above.

20. Concocted an acronym to avoid typing the full word in an SMS.

21. Went back up country and felt like everyone is ‘Shao’ except themselves.

So which one are you guilty of?

Committee Meeting 23th January 2013
Agenda – Banco Beds
Radios
Cate’s balcony Laundry
AOB – Padlock Money

Dear Members it has come to our attention that the noise emanating from door number 16 is a constant disturwhat…disturbance to other plot stayers. This is greatly influenced by the incessant movements that are not giving the bed suprings breathing space. We are all aware that most Banco beds are created for secondary school to catch those students who leave the dorms at night and that’s why they make what make noise. As grown up, we have to move from the Banco brands to more wooden beds which are less noisy. We are not saying Mr. Nyangweso of door number 16 stole his secondary school bed, hapana. But omera bwana we won’t sleep because of your extra-curriculum activities? Onunue Otanda ya bao bwana. Supring ofinyi wewe? Yawa!
Members also noted that Mr. Khamisi of door number 6 left for up country last week. He however left his radio what? On. This was an attempt to hoodwink robbers to thinking he is in. We all have redios omera, ours are even of subwoo-what woofers? Switch off that sanyo thing that doesn’t even have FM bwana. Are you saying we won’t sleep because of that Pastor at night on your karedio? That pastor says things that make us not do things bwana. We have a watchman who we are paying a whooping 1,200bob for security. And on the same note, please stop hanging your batteries out to dry once they are over. Kama omekwisa, nunua durawhat? Duracell. You are a grown up bwana, sasa watoto watafanya nini wewe okisinda biting biting the battery for it to what? To work. This embarassal we don’t what. Don’t want.
Our agenda number thirii is a touchy issue. Miss Kanyonyo, please please that balcony is for rela-what? Relaxing. Members, particularly the women have complained about your laundry attire. As you wash clothes we know it is firii time for you to feel relaxation but please, you will break Anna’s husband’s neck yawa. That pink night dress is sooo ginene yawa. We see thurough yawa. We request you wear these bikers things that women wear, like that one of my wife. You can’t just hang hang clothes almost naked that one of thiring’inyi like that. Onaomisa watu. That pink night dress of yours must stop, and please sew it at the side, it has torn itself a bit. Not that I was looking, but eyes have no what? No curtains ok. In addition, just to add on to that sexy pink ginene, please can you adorn a kijukuu as well.
Well there being only one A.O.B the members brought up the padlock money issue. Just to remind you all that during the new year party, all of you were baying for alcohol like a vampire bays for blowhat? Blood. Remember that you all suggested that instead of buying a padlock we buy more measured alcohol from Mama Boi and we pay with that padlock money. I’m a taken aback, I’m a perplexed and retorted that it is coming up afwhat, afres. Let’s not major on minor issues. I did not eat the padlock money as that rumamongarer mama Okinyo might purwhat, purport. It was a general consensus that we use the padlock money for momentary alcoholic pleasure.
There being no other business, the meeting was adwhat, adjourned. Next meeting will be held on the first of February and the agenda is Peeing in the communal bathroom, campaign tshirts and the new girl on house number 19. Owache mabwana ya watu.
Act before you are acted upon.
Chairman of Kanyonyo committee meeting.

Kenzo Faces Jail Time For Stealing A Song

Just a couple of days after releasing the video for the joint, “Matatu”, Kenzo has come under fire for allegedly stealing the song. The song was an original version and composure of Bassil an artist who is currently signed by the record label Evolution Media and Sound Limited.

Apparently Bassil had composed and written down this song while he was still working with Tuff Shutters Crew (remember the artist that Kenzo incorporated in his song’s video, K-mess, is a member of Tuff Shutters Crew). Bassil is even in possession of the rights to the song in its whole version from the Music Copyright Society of Kenya as he had registered it.

Allegedly Bassil even tried to talk Kenzo out of hyping the song when its audio was released but he did not heed and went ahead to release the video. So now, Bassil and his manager are following up the matter with the authorities to bring Kenzo to book.

Now, be the judge. Here are the two songs;

A lot of people still think that a gospel gig held in a club cannot keep guys as entertained as other events would at the same joint.

I beg to defer. Gospel events at clubs might be a little bit ironical but goddamn it, they rock. Let’s not front. Especially live performances by the gospel artistes, preferably the afro soul and acoustic artistes. They bring the house down.

I have not been able to attend much of these events but the little that I have been privileged to attend, have proved to be memorable.

On Fridays, The Lounge goes down at the Petma Restaurant and the attendance is always impressive, making it evident that I am not the only one with these sentiments.

DJ Celeb and DJ Soxxy usually keep the revellers entertained, along with some guest performance.

Check out in this brief video below, just how epic the show gets.

How to Outrun Rudisha: Novel in the Works

David Rudisha was definitely the biggest local sports star last year. He had one of the best runs in Olympic history to break the world record. And now there is a book inspired by his success.

Writer Ronald Wamumali is working on a novel about the athlete. How to Outrun Rudisha is about a young crippled kid who was encouraged by Rudisha to go out and reach his full potential…and just manages to do it at the Paralympics.

Just like the Adventures of Mike Sonko, How to Outrun Rudisha is aims to bring back the culture of readership to the young people of this country. The cover was designed by Tom Manda. Look out for the book once it’s out.

If you are looking for an exciting Thursday plan, this is where you need to be!

Lavish Lounge (formerly Club Heartz) is throwing a sick party this Thursday dedicated to everyone who has a birthday. Remember me ranting about a certain DJ called DJ Genius? He’ll be there with his partner DJ Phillz and so will DJ Joe Mfalme! Actually, there will be 3 past Pilsner Mfalme winners in the house! They include: DJ Nelly Mfalme and DJ Rickie Mfalme.

Pints are cheap so you don’t have to hurt your pockets and the music will be off the chains like Django running for his life! The interior decor was done to give the club a luxurious feel so your hinney will be comfortable. And they actually have a dancefloor so you can burst your moves! When was the last time you were at a club that had a dancefloor?

And if you happen to be a Capricorn or an Aquarius, you have no excuse to miss out this Thursday!

Beyonce Lip-syncing National Anthem During Obama Inauguration (Video)

Monday, “JaKogelo” was officially sworn in for his second term and renowned artists like Kelly Clarkson, James Taylor and Beyonce who did a rendition of the National Anthem. However, reports are now emerging that that Beyoncé was lip-syncing her entire performance.

According to a United States Marine Band representative, all music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day. She added, “We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don’t know what the reason why.”

The Washingtonian reports that “it was evident that the band wasn’t actually playing during the song.” Beyoncé surprised viewers when she ripped out her earpiece mid-performance (0.15 to 0.18). But according to these reports, the earpiece was unnecessary in the first place.

Yet Another Creative President Kibaki Wordplay

Renowned producer Cedo (Cedric Kadenyi) is at it again. This time though not doing music rather put together an amazing wordplay from one President Kibaki’s quotes and fused it with the beats from P-Square’s “Danger”.

Cedo says that he was just chilling at his studio, at that time working for a radio station, and there was this caption by President Kibaki that he was presented to edit which he thought was very interesting. Thanks to his creativity, he decided to make a song out of the speech, and create an interesting chorus too.

The voice is purely President Kibaki’s and there are no extra vocal harmonies; it’s all Software. Listen to the wordplay below;

The Big Booty Girl From “You Guy” Says How Much You Must Pay Her For Her To Be In Your Video!

I stumbled across Str8 Up’s interview of Vera Sidika a.k.a Vee Beiby. And it was quite an interesting one.

Being a hot blooded hetero, i was happy to see that Ian Mugoya was nowhere on set. Instead, the producer had seen fit to put Tamima and Vee Beiby infront of the screen alone… My mind wandered.

But when i reigned in my imagination, i got to here Vee Beiby intimate that she was indeed paid to appear in the “You Guy” video which saw her yansh (buttocks) which she has named Roxxie steal the show! And that has made her set her sights higher; you must now part with a pretty penny to have her appear in your video.

That means that if you’re an artist who hoped to have her yansh dey star in your video, you’d have to cough up that pepe! Talk about taking the video vixen game in Kenya to new heights! Kanye West’s song “Wouldn’t Get Far” comes to mind!
