So last night, the second batch of contestants were evicted from Big Brother Africa – The Chase. Lovebirds, LK4 and Koketso from Uganda and South Africa are the latest housemates to be evicted from the house after failing to garner support from Africa.

South Africa’s Koketso didn’t even know that she was nominated. She had been placed on the chopping block by Selly who preferred saving Biguesas from Eviction. The two’s eviction from the house was imminent going by the polls being generated on the official Big Brother site. In fact it was so clear from as early as Friday that LK4 and Koketso would exist the stargame.

The Ugandan Prince said a prayer earlier this evening before the Rubies had their dinner. Koketso was at his side as always, holding her man’s hand as he emotionally thanked the Almighty for the time spent with ‘friends’ and how much the BBA opportunity meant to him. Maria was so touched by his words that she thought Elikem was the one praying.

Koketso also felt very emotional just before tonight’s Evictions, saying that the Ruby House is home to the Housemates for the next two months but she wasn’t aware that she’d be leaving The Chase tonight. Everyone was so sad.

According to Jackal news, Uduak Amimo co-host could be headed to Ebru Africa TV as a senior official. According to their sources, the broadcaster has been attempting to headhunt her for sometimes now.

While it is still unclear when exactly she will be setting up shop over at Ebru Africa, strong hints have been dropped indicating that it will be “Soon.”

Currently, Amimo is a chief host of Citizen TV’s Cheche talk show. Before that, she was a senior producer and present at the British Broadcasting Corporation, working in various stations.

The game just got a whole lot tougher.

Big Brother has introduced an exciting new twist to the game, which is surely set to shake things up as The Chase towards a cool USD 300 000 heats up.

Aptly titled ‘The Power of No’, this new Task will afford a lucky Housemate the opportunity to deny one other Housemate the opportunity to participate in the next Head of House Task.

The Power of No Task will be random, which means Biggie may deliver it anytime between Saturday and Friday. Whoever wins the Task will be called to the Diary Room right before the Head of House challenge begins, to tell Big Brother who they would like to banish from participating.

There were looks of concern and astonishment when Diamond Head of House Betty read out the Task brief. Ghana’s Elikem even asked her to “please read that two more times”.

The Diamonds were as equally shaken by this announcement, as their Ruby counterparts. “This is deep”, Koketso exclaimed to no one in particular.

The Housemates are under no illusions regarding how important being HoH is. Apart from handing the HoH immunity from possible Eviction, this lofty position also gives the holder the power to ‘Save’ a Housemate of their choice from possible Eviction and ‘Replace’ said Housemates with anyone of their choosing.

The Housemates have no doubt studied each other and know each other’s strengths. Anyone who had hoped to coast through ‘The Chase’ on the power of Head Of House certainly needs to find a new strategy.

The brain is truly a wonderous organ! It conceives reality and in some cases, deludes us by creating a reality. That is the case with Illuminati. There is no such sinister secretive group looking to control our minds. Or rather, I have never seen evidence of it’s existence. But this is not about my opinion. It’s about what Africans have begun seeing and saying.

Most guys have the notion that Big Brother Africa stargame is all about immoral people who fall in and out of love, shower nvde and even have sex in full glare of cameras. While past edition of the BBA might have tried to sustain that opinion, this year’s edition – The Chase – is about to change that.

This year, there is a staunch Christian in the Ruby house. Meet 31 year old businessman Sulu from Zambia. I guess you have not heard/read much about him because he has not been involved in any scandal in the house. Well, most of you may argue that his age does not allow him to engage in some of the things that the younger housemates are doing, but that’s debatable.

So yesterday before everyone broke off their day to dive into their beds in the Ruby house, there was a big spiritual diet for the souls from ‘Pastor’ Sulu. He called for the audience of his roommates and started by reading a Bible verse and then went on to preach and giving an interpretation of the readings.

Sulu’s word came from Romans 8:28 which reads “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Botswana’s Oneal tried to tease him calling the book “Romance”  but this did not take the attention of our pastor who went ahead with his preaching.

After the ‘sermon’ Sulu asked fellow countryman Biguesas to lead the lead the rest of housemates in a closing prayer!

Want to know who is the probable winner of this year’s Big brother – The Chase and ultimately the $300,000 at stake? Well, evicted Ugandan Big Brother representative Denzel could have an answer to that as you are about to find out.

Recently, Word Is caught up with the radio and TV show host from Kampala where he opened up about his experience in the BBA house and shared his insight about who he thinks will win the competition. He hinted that Botswana housemate, ONeal is better placed to take home the cash prize.

According to Denzel, O’Neal has “a good grasp of what to expect in the house and has good insight of how to survive in the house, ” adding that he is the most likely contestant to take home the money.

Here’s an excerpt of the telephone interview;

Word Is: Would you audition to get into the house again?

Denzel: Yeah, I would. But in a couple of years? I’m not so sure I would. I would be older then and with different priorities.

Word Is: Would you accept an offer to be a swimsuit model?

Denzel: (Laughing) I would be happy to do it. I don’t see why not. People seem to remember that side of me from the house.

Now let’s wait and see if his “prophesy” comes true.

First off, allow me to say that rape is a despicable crime. It not only physically injures victims but leaves them bearing psychological scars years after the ordeal. It is also the biggest statement of weakness in the perpetrator. It is a disgusting display of self loathing and a tragic attempt at showing the world that the perpetrator is better than the world.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Njoroge Mwaura has decided to call it quits from your Tv screen. For those of you old enough to remember, Njoroge Mwaura has been on the screen almost since the entire time KTN has been on or should I say since I begun taking note of my mummy watching KTN news.

Can’t help but feel nostalgic about seeing him on the screen but life must move on. The veteran TV anchor is going back to consultancy work. For those of you not in the know, Njoroge Mwaura was brought back to KTN late last year top help the company stem the tide of the mass exodus of their leading news anchors and journalists.

Blue movies, p0rn0graphy, hump-flicks or whatever you know them as, if you are a smut enthusiast then Star Times has got you covered! That is befcause, after acquiring a South African broadcasting corporation: South Africa Pay TV operator…

They may begin airing some of their adult entertainment content.

Star Times plans to shore up the dwindling viewership of Top TV, which is owned by ODM, through adding to its bouquets p0rnographic channels intended to keep subscribers glued to their screens.         

South Africa’s Business Day reports that Top TV’s trump card may yet be p0rn0graphy. Quoting Alex Elliot, an insolvency director at a law firm Routledge Modises who said TopTV’s new license to air three p0rn channels might save the company.

“The business rescue process that it is entering now gave TopTV the time it needed to get the licenses for the p0rn channels — and, as we all know, sex sells,” he said. Top TV was recently licensed to broadcast three adult content channels—Playboy TV, Desire TV, and Private Spice in South Africa.

However, this has raised reasonable fears that the Chinese pay TV operator may include the Top TV p0rn channels in its bouquet offerings in other African countries in order to entice potential subscribers. StarTimes, with about nine million subscribers across China and Africa, has extensive experience in pay TV.

TopTV has been in distress since October last year and it came as no surprise when shareholders of ODM voted to accept the business rescue plan offered by Star Times. In the last two years, Top TV has had to stop airing five channels after creditors ran out of patience. Top TV owes Fox, Warner Bros and Paramount and Disney colossal debts that it has accrued over time.    

The new development has already been received with outrage in Nigeria and South Africa, with the rescue plan of ODM by Star Times being marred by massive public outcry, especially from South African religious organisations, which find Top TV’s association with p0rn0graphy repulsive.

The move comes at time heightened sensitivity on moral issues in Kenya after police arrested a Swedish National suspected with luring Kenyan girls into beastiality in Mombasa. Muslims have already decried the insensitivity to the religious and cultural groups, with the approval for the X-rated channels sparking anger of the South Africa’s Muslim Judicial Council.

Star Times Nigeria has vehemently denied it plans to air the channels in the country, saying that the National Broadcasting Commission would not countenance such content. No clear communication has been released in regard to which countries Star Times will be seeking to air the three adult channels.

In May, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa gave Top TV the green light air the three p0rnographic channels. The Authority said it gave the go ahead that limits the broadcast of the adult content from 8pm to 5am, after a protracted public consultation.

There were two last minute bids that sought to block Star Times from buying into Top TV by Dynamic TV and Wananchi Group, but a by the chairman of StarTimes, Pang Xin Xing, to cancel his offer in case of further delays saw the shareholder vote in favour of Star Times.

Reports indicate that Star Times was the only company interested in conducting due diligence process and tabling an offer an offer prior to Top TV securing the right to air p0rnography.

Richard Bell’s Wananchi Group made a weak attempt to state its case for Top TV. But Ernie Lai King, a lawyer representing Top TV’s new owner Star Times, said “empty promises” and R500m would have an insignificant role in settling the ballooning debt that Top TV owes to various companies.

As you are all aware by now, Huddah is back in the country after getting evicted from this year’s Big Brother – The Chase, having jetted in last evening to a rousing welcome from Prezzo. Well, this morning she was scheduled to make a guest appearance on Kiss 100 Breakfast Show but called it off in the last minute after getting a little unwell.

She however held a press conference from 10AM at the Sarova Stanley where she spoke about her experience in the BBA house and also fielded questions from journalists (full story coming up shortly). Ghafla! was at the press conference and here are some images from that;

Recently, the Ugandan Government clamped down on Nation Media Group’s subsidiary Daily Monitor barring employees from accessing their workstation bringing the media house to its knees. The mother company, NMG consequently wrote to the President Yoweri Museveni complaining.

It might sound unreal but yes, it’s true. Super beautiful actress and model Brenda Wairimu is at logger heads with the Lizz Njagah and her husband Alex Konstantaras over the ownership of a female African helmeted terrapin.

The Konstantaras are crying foul over the misconception that most of Brenda’s fans have the notion that “Chura-K” (K for Konstantaras), the Helmeted Terrapin belongs to Brenda after she posted a photo holding “Chura-K”. In a statement, the Konstantaras want to notify everyone that the animal is a member of their family and does not belong to Brenda.

Thing is, in the past 2 days a couple of photos have been circulating in social media with the pretty actress Brenda Wairimu posing together with the stunning and aspiring animal actress Chura-K. Chura is an African helmeted terrapin (water turtle) and will make a guest appearance in the “Adults Only” Kenyan comedy “House of Lungula” (which got officially certified yesterday by the Kenyan Film Classification Board as 18+). Brenda and Chura met on the set of a TV show and it was love from first site as you can see from the pictures!

That was all great until Brenda decided to put these photos on her Facebook page where all her fans naturally started asking questions about her new friend. Brenda happily replied to all her fans letting them believe that Chura-K belongs to her! The truth is that Chura-K is a member of Lizz and Alex Konstantaras’ family. Here is a statement that the couple wants to circulate so they can clear the air:

“We are very happy that Brenda and Chura are getting on very well and enjoying each others company. But we would like to clarify that Chura was, is and will remain a member of our family and doesn’t belong to Brenda Wairimu as her fans wrongfully believe. Her name was given to her because she loves to jump inside her water tank like a frog. Brenda we are more than happy for you to come and socialize with Chura but to put the record straight: Chura-K is ours.”

‘The Boss Lady’ is back! Yes, Huddah Monroe jetted back into the country last evening aboard a Kenya Airways flight. The former Big Brother – The Chase housemate was elated to be back home and she immediately tweeted revealing her feelings.

 Huddah was received at the airport by his ‘rapcellency’ Prezzo and immediately whisked away. Take a look;

Huddah is currently on demand like crazy as everyone is trying to have a piece of her. Today alone her diary is already full; her schedule started as early as 8AM where she was supposed to be hosted on Kiss 100 Breakfast Show but reschuled it due to a minor illness.

However, she will hold a Press conference from 10AM at the Sarova Stanley and later in the day make an appearance on Churchill Show Live recording at the Carnivore as the main guest.
