Victor Wanyama And McDonald Mariga Set To Be Honoured By A Film About Them!

I came across a rather interesting story from one of the few men I respect and consider my equal if not my better Kevin Oyugi. And I have to share it with the world! This was a must read!

“Following his $12 million transfer to English Premiership side Southampton, footballer Victor Wanyama continues to hit the headlines, as he’s set to feature in a new film called More Than Brothers.

The world premiere of B7 Film’s More Than Brothers takes place on Tuesday the 23rd of July 2013 at the Alliance Francaise, and tells the story of the Wanyama family – footballers Noah Wanyama, Victor Wanyama and the also immensely popular McDonald Mariga.
Here’s the synopsis to the film:
more than brothers poster

“Harry is the youngest member of the famous Wanyama family.

His father, Noah, was a legendary player on the Kenyan National Football Team and his two brothers, Victor and Mariga play for Southampton FC and Inter Milan FC.
The two brothers have huge success in Europe, and their world-wide popularity grows alongside their merits and massive wealth.

From one day to another, the slum and a used bike got replaced by villas and massive cars. The Wanyamas went from virtually unknown to being famous in all of East Africa. They had little and now they have more than they ever dared dream of.

Harry is 18 years old. He now leads a fully different life, as he searches for his own dreams in this new world that he never knew existed.”

Tickets to the 5.00pm and 6.00pm cost only Kshs. 50, while the 7.00pm and 8.00pm screenings are free of charge.

Joyce Omondi’s Heartfelt Open Letter To Her Fans.

Joyce Omondi had earlier announced that she was leaving Citizen inorder to persue her education.

She had this to say to her fans.

“This past Sunday I hosted my last Rauka show on Citizen TV. I continue
to receive an overwhelming response from everyone pouring out their
love, support, encouragement and best wishes. Although it is a bitter
sweet ending that has come sooner than most would hope, my heart is
filled with joy. When I joined Rauka a little over a year ago, I never
imagined that God would use me in this way. He turned my curious
daydreams about media into a gift that I never thought I had. And
despite not having trained in the field, He qualified me for the job
by His grace, and has grown me ever since. To Him be all the glory and
honor!
Words can also not describe my gratitude to all of you. I find myself
left speechless by all the love you have shown. I won’t be able to
respond to all the posts, texts, messages, tweets, and calls, but
kindly receive my heartfelt THANK YOU! Thank you for allowing me to be
part of your lives through my music and through Rauka. What a
privilege it is to do what you love and enjoy and receive such amazing
support from those who are blessed by it. Wherever I go and in
whatever I do, I pray that the Lord would continue to use me to be a
blessing to His people; that is my heart’s earnest desire.
I will continue writing and releasing music and I encourage you to get
my album (available at Kassangas and Wakestar Bookshop Valley Road)
and to keep supporting my ministry. One thing I know is that the best
is yet to come, and I am excited to see what else God will do in and
through my life. So this is not goodbye, but only see you later! You
can still reach me on my facebook page, on twitter @JoyceOmondi, and
my Youtube Channel (JoyceOmondiMusic) where I’ll be posting more
music, and clips about my time abroad.
Once again, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You are blessed and you are loved.
Nyinyi ni wanguWith His Love,
Joyce.”
P.S This is an un edited expression of her her undying love for her fans.

Big Brother Africa Analysis: Why Annabel Is Headed Home This Week!

I can say with a certain degree of certainty that Annabel is going home this week! And it has nothing to do with patriotism and everything to do with pragmatism.

Let at use some level of deductive reasoning and you will come to see things from my point of view.
Annabel has consistently been voted for a 3 nation bloc that has been flexing it’s muscles and letting the rest of Africa know that East Africa has a voice! Hats off to our East African brothers and sisters. Kudos for that!

News: Annabel is scared of being Evicted

But the three nations that have consistently defended and sheilded Annabel Mbaru have done so because there have been a number of people up for eviction. But this time round she is up against two of the most popular contestants: Sulu and Elikem!

The thing about BBA is that it has become a zonal/regional vote game. Kenya can count on her two sisters but Elikem of Ghana can count on Nigeria, Sierra Leone and ofcourse Ghana’s votes and given that that might result in a tie, the sheer size of these countries would overwhelm us.

Sulu

And what about sulu? To be fair, Sulu is a wild card but I suspect he will get zambia’s, angola’s and Botswana’s vote. S.A are a free card for anyone but I highly doubt that they will break with precedence and vote for the first time for Annabel!
Now after Monday’s erroneous analysis, let me know what you think!

But do not give up yet, vote to keep Kenya in that house! Keep Annabel in South Africa!

Vera Sidika: All Hail The Queen Of Socialites!

Vera sidika is just the girl to beat! Channel O recently claimed that she was one of Africa top ten most delectable video vixens. And I can honestly say that she is doing the “socialite” tag right!

Think about it. Nali went on a rant recently claiming that the term socialite has lost it’s sheen with alot of fame hungry attention seeking lasses claiming the title. But I want to contest Nali’s assertion today. Vera is just the one! She lives the life!
Vera source of income include paultry farming,her car hire firm and from attending events and appearing on music videos and she is driving one of the most expensive luxury cars around -an X5!

<Sexy Vera in Ghafla’s 2nd home>

And what about when she shows up for an event? Well, she always shows up looking sharp! Nothing ratchet about this miss. she doesn’t just look fine from Ngara shopping sprees, nay! she is fluent in het haute couture speak!

<Check out her balanced diet>

And whenever she steps out to party where does she turn up? Well, only where the money goes to have fun. I can guarantee you that I cannot find her at you favourite local! Catch her dead at Molly’s or Okolea! She only ever shows up at the most exclusive clubs around. And if she were to throw a party, I would actually look forward to an invite from her because I know that not only will she have the who is who turning up, she will have the simple details finessed!

If ever Kenya has seen a socialite doing the deed right, it would have to be Vera Sidika!

BBA Update: Annabel Worried She Might Be Going Home!

After surviving evictions for the past few weeks, seems the sexy Kenyan now is now worried that she might be evicted out of the Big Brother house this week on Sunday.

Because this week Big Brother decided to only put three housemates up for possible eviction and the total number of votes is 15 votes, yet she is up against the strongest contenders in the game Sulu and Elikem, Annabel’s chances of leaving the Big Brother house are very high.

Last evening, Annabel got some time with Eveva and revealed to her that she is worried about the fact that she she might be going home on Sunday. She was more stressed about the odds quickly stacking up against her because she’s the most likely candidate to be Evicted as she’s up against only two other Housemates whereas there were six others to choose from in past weeks.

The Zambian massage therapist told Annabel that she should just keep the faith in herself and play the game because she is still in the Big Brother house. “We all do not know how Africa will vote,” said Eveva as she tried to console her fellow.

annabel distressed

When you start strong players like Annabel get worried, then you just know that pressure is surely mounting on the housemates as The Chase draws to an end. It goes to show that nobody in Biggie’s House can be sure of anything, even strong characters like Annabel get worried about Evictions from time to time especially because there are no more weaklings to Evict from The Chase anymore.

You’re Probably Going To Tap Out At This Event Tomorrow

It’s going down tomorrow at the Santa Fe Lounge at the Mall, Westlands.

In an all new theme night, Santa Fe brings you “Tap Out Thursdays,” inspired by the Rich Gang song of the same name:

{youtube}OGtlq-cvIS4{/youtube}

You’re all invited to the launch of the theme night, and just to spice things up, Santa Fe are throwing in an extra-long happy hour for those who come early.

Tomorrow from 5pm to 9pm(yes, that’s right! 4 WHOLE HOURS!) you’ll get 6 of ANY of our local beers for ONLY 1000/ That works out to about 160 bob per drink. Sounds like an absolutely amazing deal to me.

For those who prefer ‘makali,’ you can get a 750ml bottle of vodka and 4 Redbulls for JUST 3500/=. The value here is undeniable.

If a bottle is a bit too much for you on a Thursday night, well how about some shots? Shots served at Santa Fe tomorrow start at 150 bob, so bring your friends and girlfriends to enjoy a fantastic night out at Kenya’s very first Tap Out Thursdays. See you there…

Things You NEVER Knew About Chantelle of ‘Toklezea’

Not much has been documented about Chantelle (Winnie Wambui Naisula Ole Siameto). Apart from the fact that she recently got hitched with talented video director, J Blessing and that she’s the brains behind the club-banger, Toklelezea, not so much is known about her.

However, worry no more because recently, Salon Magazine, unearthed some of the things you most probably never knew about Chantelle but definitely want to know. Here we go;

1. Chantelle is romantic at heart. She loves to read novels, cook, watch movies and listen to Hip-hop music. When stressed out, she will clean and by the time she is done, the stress is all gone. Her favorite whip up is Mukimo and she does not like meat. She ate lots of that while growing up.

2. Her view of beauty is that it must radiate from within. No matter how gorgeous one is from the outside, if the inside is not clean then that is not beauty.

3. Her style is simple and comfortable. She knows there is a clear difference between dressing sexy and trashy. Unfortunately many people mistake trashy for sexy. Her advice to those seeking a sexy allure is show less of skin and to be comfortable in their wear.

4. Chantelle is a firm believer in the Kenyan music industry. She is happy her generation is storming into the music scene and has great admiration for the Camp Mulla group, whose music is great although they are quite young.

5. One day when she’s all grown up, she would love to settle down in marriage and make a beautiful home for her family. For now, she is grateful to God for his love and protection, to her family for all the care they have given her and to her boyfriend who is very supportive of her dreams and aspirations.

6. Chantelle is a child of mixed race, with a father of both Maasai and Indian origins.

7. Her mother was of the Gikuyu origin but passed on when she was only 11 years.

8. Chantelle grew up in Limuru. She schooled in Consolata for her secondary education

Did You Know Tahidi High’s Omosh is A Polygamist Whose One of His Wives is Also an Actress in The Same Show?

You know him as Omosh from the high school drama show, Tahidi High. But behind the scenes, Joseph Kinuthia is a proud polygamous man. This, he recently revealed on live TV.

Hosted by Kanze Dena and Lulu Hassan on their “Nipashe” news show, Kinuthia revealed that he’s a trained accountant who lost his job after a brief stint in the career. Unknown to many, Mrs. Ngatia in Tahidi High is Kinuthia’s first wife in real life.

Kinuthia disclosed that he has a second wife, known as Shanty Mumbi. Asked why he married two women, he divulges that it was all out of love.

And just so you know, the late Wanade (Beth Nyambura Mbaya) was Kinuthia’s blood sister and so is Naomi Kamau aka Alison of Mother-in-Law.

I just came across a rather interesting video of newly born again songstress Size 8 dancing during her recent performance at the MCSK Awards Ceremony. The lass decided to treat all those in attendance to a dance to a popular song by Major Laser ft Busy Signal called “Bumaye”.

And the video is rather long but trust me that it is worth the wait. So take the time to check out Size 8 play dance to the instrumentals of the popular dancehall jam. And for those too old to know, dancehall is responsible for giving you the style of dancing known as daggering!

Swag Party Headlined By Wyre in Kampala Turns ‘Not-So-Swaggy’ (Photos)

Over the weekend, Kenya’s dancehall ace was in Kampala ahead of his performance at the Kampala road based Club Rouge. Wyre was also expected to grace the Club Rouge boat cruise slated for Saturday July 20.

The event promoter, Giftorious of Gift Pro, was even heard boasting, “The boat cruise will feature Bikini girls, free drinks and eats and music performances from various artists”. However, after all the much hype, this was never to be as power decided to play the hide-and-seek game.

Red Pepper reports that no sooner had Wyre performed only one song than the power went off. Now imagine yourself in a night club and the concert has just reached its climax and then boom! off goes the power!

The angry revelers started shouting at the top of their voices and hurling insults at the club managers. Attempts by the club management to use alternative sources of power were unsuccessful as the generator failed to power on.

While the strong hearted chilled around a bit hoping for the best, some decided to seek satisfaction elsewhere. Here are a few photos;

Steamy Man-On-Animal Sex: The New Media Fad

Today we woke up to news of four men in Murang’a county who were involved in very unnatural acts with a donkey.

For the last one month our TV screens and social media have been bombarded with stories of Kenyans having sex with animals.First it was the lasses from Mombasa who were caught shooting animal porn with a clueless dog.The country was in uproar and that became the talk of town for weeks.That story was truly a hit with Kenyans and  the media started really milking that cow.

Speaking of the cow; next came in the cow from Kiambu on NTV ,then KTN followed suit with the chicken story that has made chicken the butt of all jokes.I hoped that the Standard Group’s report on the goat was the final nail in that coffin but nooooo, Kiss TV’s Dennis Okari reports that 4 men gang-raped a donkey tied to a tree metres away from a Church kesha in Kamahuhia!Not even the praise and worship songs could curb their unnatural desires.

robert_okari.png

So what animal is next on the list?Cats?

grump.jpg

Is it that these unnatural acts have become a disease that is slowly infecting our country or is the media over sensationalising this issue?You be the judge…

KTN Loses One Of Its Top Talent

While Standard Group’s KTN seems to be keen on bringing on board new faces, some are making their way out of the big media giant. The latest to leave is Willis Angira, an Associate Editor at KTN.

Angira was also the PR & Corporate Liaison Manager until his departure yesterday. KTN seems to have lost a dedicated team-player, who also produced the Saturday night bulletin, Saturday Night Live, hosted by the curvaceous Linda Oguttu.

A darling to his colleagues, Angira was accorded a low-key farewell party. Here are some of the photos from that;

Meet Nairobi Women Who Are Prostitutes By The Day & Wives At Night

Recently, K24 aired a rather shocking documentary where a section of Nairobi housewives take part in world’s oldest trade, flesh trade, during the day and leave for their homes just in time before their husbands get back from their jobs.

All these go on in broad daylight in joints in downtown Nairobi where male clients flood to satisfy their sexual urge. K24’s Purity Mwambia together with her cameramen visited three dungeons on River Road where they met these women who pass for ordinary people going about their businesses.

Watch this masterpiece titled “Bweta La Uhalifu” and see how prostitution is becoming a booming business in Kenya with sex prices less than KSh300 for 20 minutes. Am tallking about married women here;

GHAFLA POLL RESULTS: Who Has The Best Swag Between Jay A, K’Cous, Octopizzo And Ian Mugoya?

Yesterday I asked Kenyans whom they felt was the Kenyan celebrity with the best swag and people responded overwhelmingly. I am rather pleased to announce that I have the results and if you had your assumptions like me, you’re in for a rude shock!

In all honesty I had assumed that Camp Mulla, the people who changed every Kenyan youth’s mindset in as far as dressing goes would have their representative higher up on the poll but that was not the case. I mean, theink about it like this; they taught Kenayn youth the world over to look for swag in everything they do and to stay fresh all day but it would seem that the masters have been surpassed by the students!

And here the poll results are:

After Their Controversial “Militia” Piece, CNN Admits That Kenya Had A Peaceful Election

A week before Kenya’s General Elections, global News Channels CNN, was under serious attack by Kenyans on Twitter #KOT after it aired a feature on Kenyan militias in training incase violence broke out.  In an interview,  CNN Vice President and Managing Editor, Europe, Middle East and Africa Deborah Rayner stood her ground and strongly defended CNN Kenya election feature ‘social media attacks’ and recognized that Kenya had a successful democratic elections. Ms Rayner also revealed desires to include other languages such as Swahili in CNN African Journalist of the year Award.

Why is Africa, more so Kenya a key market for CNN?

Africa has always been important for us, both from the point of view of our audiences on the continent, and the growing influence of Africa in the world.  It’s an exciting, dynamic, vibrant and diverse place, which makes it endlessly fascinating from an editorial point of view; but countries such as Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa are also global players now.  Kenya has enormous potential in that context.  From an economic, cultural and political perspective, this is a very exciting time for this country – especially following the recent successful democratic elections, which further enhanced Kenya’s reputation globally.

What is your stand on accusation that CNN has been misreporting facts on the ground in regards to Kenya?

We absolutely refute this, in the strongest possible terms.  We have followed many, many different stories in Kenya from different perspectives, and done so with the utmost attention to fairness, balance and accuracy, as anyone who has watched our coverage will attest.

CNN Journalist of the year Awards will celebrate 18 years in 2013. What are the positive contributions that have the project achieved?

When the African Journalist Awards were first conceived our intention was to provide a global platform to recognise the hard work and commitment of African journalists.  I think the awards have absolutely achieved that aim.  They’ve brought some hugely talented individuals onto a larger stage and helped to nurture and encourage that talent. I think they can continue to play a role in shaping freedom of speech and a healthy, vibrant media on the continent.  The Awards are an ongoing commitment and investment in Africa; we are very proud to be part of such a worthwhile project.

Still on the CNN AJA, several critics have discredited the jury arguing that they are biased to mainstream media in Kenya and that they don’t reward Swahili entries. What is your take?

It’s completely wrong to say that we are biased towards mainstream media in Kenya or that Kenyan journalists within Kenya feel that the competition lacks credibility.  Our 2011 overall winner was Fatuma Noor from Kenya, and the overall winners in 2012 were Kenyans: Tom Mboya and Evanson Nyaga.  The judges make their decisions based on entries from across full spectrum of media – radio, TV, print and online.

At the moment the AJA competition is unable to accept entries in Swahili.  This is something we’d very much like to change, and it’s something that is discussed constantly by the judges.  It would be a huge undertaking to include more languages such as Swahili in the competition, and not something to which we are able to commit at this stage, but the desire is there.

Is there a likelihood of CNN opening a Studio in Nairobi as your competitors have done?

We’re constantly reviewing our on the ground operations and bureaux arrangements.  At the moment we have no plans to open a studio in Nairobi, but we have a correspondent based permanently in the city, and there is no question that both Nairobi and Kenya as a whole will be a big part of any future plans we make as a network.

In the past two decades, CNN has launched products that are tailor made for Africa. What informed the decision? Please highlight the success of the projects?

We have three programmes dedicated to Africa, each with a different editorial perspective.  Marketplace Africa looks at the business landscape here, examining the success stories, the challenges, and the opportunities found across the continent.  African Voices is an interview-based show that brings some of the most interesting and intriguing characters from a range of backgrounds and fields to our audiences worldwide.  We’ve had musicians, business people, politicians, sports men and women, actors, each with their own stories to tell.  Then Inside Africa takes a look at cultural stories from all over the continent.  We travel to different countries, regions and cities to bring a broad picture of the diversity that makes Africa so special and unique.  We think these programmes make for great content, alongside our news coverage they bring a full picture of Africa to the world, and they also provide audiences in Africa with a fuller picture of the rest of their continent.  The shows have a very enthusiastic following, and we’re very proud of them. There is more to come. Watch this space.

The latest independent research confirmed that CNN is the #1 international media brand in Africa, but in Kenya majority of pay-tv viewers can’t access CNN due to the exclusivity that DStv has with CNN. How are you addressing this issue?

CNN has a longstanding relationship with DStv and they are making strides to extend their reach outside South Africa.  This is an exciting time for Pay TV development in Africa as a whole and we are watching the developments in the industry with interest.  I think the strength of our online relationship with our audiences in Africa is also fundamental here; many Kenyans access our content via CNN.com and we have a very loyal audience on TV, online and mobile – in fact this kind of multiplatform engagement with CNN applies across the continent.

Do you believe that CNN has impacted on the Kenyan economy compared to your competitors? Kindly, expound?

I’m not sure why anyone would say CNN has impacted the Kenyan economy specifically.  Our coverage of Kenya is broad and always fair.  We have covered business, the arts, sport and culture in Kenya, encompassing a wide range of important areas, from tourism to the political landscape and matters of security, as well as recognising the entrepreneurial energy and opportunities Africa offers economically.  We approach all of these stories with a desire to present a balanced and true picture and offer a wide-ranging view of the country, its people and the issues that matter.

What do you find unique about the Kenyan market?

Kenya is in a good place right now.  It looks to have overcome the divisions that were exposed during the previous election, and the fact that the recent ballot passed relatively peacefully is extremely encouraging.  This is a country with a bright future, well located geographically and blessed with great natural beauty, as well as a young and entrepreneurial population. Personally I love coming to Kenya, it has a unique atmosphere and is such a vibrant, dynamic and friendly place.

Huddah’s Advice To Kenyan Artistes

Listen up Kenyan artistes! Here is a message for you from ‘Thee Boss Lady”. Well, not so long ago, Alhuda Njoroge better known as Huddah Monroe said something that in my opinion should be taken seriously by artistes, especially upcoming artistes.

The socialite and ex-BBA the Chase contestant, hit out at local musicians whose music is hard to relate to. In her own words, Huddah who is known for not mincing her words said that most artists’ music is only popular in the studio walls and nothing past that.

She posted the following on Twitter;

“Some musicians have no impact. Their music hits in the studio they produce it in. We can’t relate, u need a career change.”

It will be remembered that not so long ago, Citizen TV & Radio’s ‘Mzazi’ Willy M. Tuva gave upcoming artistes some tid-bits on how to make good music but it seems most of them did not follow the simple but important instructions hence the influx of ratchet (for lack of a better word) music.

Do you agree with “Thee Boss lady”’s opinion?

How Jaguar Made A Few Hundred Thousand This Past Weekend Without Leaving His Chair

Here’s how you upcoming artists can do the same.

So this past weekend, the MCSK awards were held, and it needs to be said that they are not the same as other award shows. Most awards in Kenya are won for the prestige and the fame, and the promise of being able to command higher rates for appearances in the future. But with the MCSK awards, there is money directly involved.

MCSK gives out money to those people who get the most broadcast media airplay, and are therefore owed the most money by radio and TV stations. This means that Jaguar, who bagged the most awards on the night(five), is set for a big share of the millions MCSK give to artists each year.

For upcoming artists who want a share of this lucrative pie, the formula is there for you to see:

– Focus on making a hit song that has ‘anthem’ potential

– Keep the radio and TV presenters close

– Join MCSK as a member

– Collect your royalties at the end of the MCSK fiscal year.

Wahu Opens Up About Her “First Round”

While the the whole world is going crazy with the arrival of Prince of Cambridge, back home, singers and celebrity couple Nameless and Wahu are expecting their second baby. Recently Wahu openly spoke about her second pregnancy on live TV and Ghafla! brought you that.

 The latest is that the “Still A Liar” singer has just opened up about her first pregnancy in which she reveals some the things the public  and her fans by and large never knew.

She wa speaking to  “Baby Love Network” about that. Take a look;

As my due date draws closer, I’m getting more and more anxious…lol…was telling a friend of mine how you can visualize the impending pain, but there’s nothing you can do about it. You really look forward to holding baby in your arms, but the process? Not so much J

Last time with Tumiso, or miss T – as she’s popularly known as, around the Mathenge household – I went in for an elective induction…PS…nobody prepares you enough for what that really means. It’s such memories that make me say this: if our men knew half the pain we go through during child birth, they’d wait on us hand and foot eeevvvery day for the rest of our lives! J

So, here are memories of my first time; what happened during the delivery of my first angel:

I checked into the hospital on the night of September 31st, 2006 for my elective induction, and the nurses proceeded to give me a tablet induction at around 11 pm. They estimated that I’d be giving birth at around 7am. I told my husband to go home, catch some shut eye and be back at around 6 in the morning, because “I gat this!” After all, I’m a strong woman, right??

At this time, all I was feeling were some mere cramps. I thought to myself…”my labor is a walk in the park!!”

In a nearby room, I could hear a lady screaming her lungs out. I thought, “How much decorum can one lose? Like seriously?” I was soon to swallow my own words…

My sweet nurse indulged me by answering every time I buzzed for her; “Nurse I need this, nurse I need that.” Oh, the needy first time mum I was!…but she was kind, and helped me through what I thought was my labor. The night was not going too bad, and neither was the nurse…I thought.

By 6 am, they proceeded to give me a 2nd tablet, as I had hardly dilated. All of a sudden, I felt shock waves electrify belly. Nothing could’ve prepared me for this feeling. The room was literally spinning, and I thought something was going terribly wrong. “This cannot be normal!! I need help!” I thought to myself. “Now you’re in labor,” my nurse told me. Yea…the lady I heard screaming the previous night, she had nothing on me when it came to my turn to scream and yell.

The thing about induced labor, or at least my experience of it, is that you have very short moments in-between contractions. So whatever you learn during lamas, just does not apply. No time to take walks, sit on balls…and the breathing exercise? The hi-hi-huuuu? Yea….that doesn’t apply at aaaallll.

At some point, I managed to call my hubby, who being a first time dad as well, began to panic. Later on, he tells me I was calling him every 3 minutes, but when you’re in labor, 3 minutes feels like a 30!

No words can describe how intense that feeling is; and decorum?? Not the thing on your mind at that point in time. I thank God that my labor was however not long – about 2 hours, but of course it felt like forever. I have flashes of recollection of the details; like I remember literally hanging on my hubby’s dreadlocks, breathing in some oxygen… (lol! at one point we were both screaming in pain! Hehehe!) That really wasn’t helping, sitting on some stool that’s supposed to relieve pain…(note the use of the word “supposed”) and walking around the corridors looking for the delivery room…coz this baby’s gotta come like nowwwwww!! Once I went in, it luckily took me two pushes, and my precious Tumiso Nyakwea Mathenge was born.

I cradled her in my arms with such adoration. I cried tears of joy. I was overwhelmed with emotions. “This is the little girl who’s been growing inside me for 9 months. And suddenly, the pain was gone… I assessed each part of her sweet little 3.4 kg body…counted her fingers and toes…ooohhh….just the memories of that special moment is bringing tears to my eyes as I write this.

These are the things that make you know, there is God. That from nothing, a life is formed and placed in your womb, and only by the grace of God is that life sustained and brought into the world.

At the end of the day, it was all worth it. So first time moms, don’t be alarmed. It is God’s ordained way of bringing forth life.

Well, that’s the story of my first round.

German-based Kenyan Rapper Weighs in On the Sex-With-Chicken Saga

For some reason, a section of Kenyan men have become obsessed with animals. It has become a common event seeing “these men” having carnal knowledge of animals. The latest is an incident where a man in Nyeri founded his chicken “sexy” and decided it could “gerrit”.

KOT have been poking fun at the situation since the incident was reported last week and it seems the clamour around it is far from dying down. The latest to comment about the shocking incident is German-based Kenyan hip-hop rapper, K-Nel.

Here are K-Nel King’s thoughts;

My final words on the CHICKEN SAGA IN NYERI; Few weeks ago I asked “which other insects will these men be f*cking next?”. Today we woke up to the chicken news. Mark my words that nothing is safe! These Ninjas will be targeting vegetables next!!! We will read headlines like “So and So from XY County was arrested having sexual intercourse with SWEET POTATOES. The SWEET POTATO leaves are all dead and will undergo postmortem to clarify what exactly caused their death

Famous TV Host Thinks Hawking DVDs on The Street is nothing to Cause a Fuss About

This morning, I told you about renowned Kenyan actor, Joseph Olita, who played Idi Amin in the hard-hitting movie, Rise and Fall of Idi Amin, who is now hawking pirated copies of the movie to earn a living. The story has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans who did not shrink back in sharing their thoughts.

Among those who reacted to the article is ‘In The Forest’ host and ‘House of Lungula’ actor, Gerald Langiri. He opines that there’s nothing wrong for a thespian to hawk copies of their productions on the street. In fact, Gerald hails Olita for the bold move.

Here are his feelings;

Honestly, there is nothing shocking and if anything, I commend him for getting his hustle on, the hard way…the way a star of his caliber shouldn’t…but this is a clear picture of what the film/acting industry in Kenya is leading some people to in order to survive from it as a profession.

Take notes:

1. Being on TV doesn’t equate money/riches/wealth.

2. If Kenyans don’t appreciate local movies/programs by running to cinemas to watch them or buy them at the reasonable prices that the dvds are put out and opt for bootlegs and pirated dvds, actors won’t make money.

3: acting/film is a business/profession… a tough one at that… if it means going to the streets to sell our work, that’s a commendable deed… one to be applauded and not be shocked about. Joseph is taking his commodity to the mwananchi (bravo). It’s sad that he has to do it himself but hey, maybe this should be wake up call.

Otherwise, when House of Lungula hits your cinemas in August, come pay to watch it, otherwise, you will also see me on the streets selling House of Lungula DVDs. I got to eat and pay rent too. It’s a tough industry #enoughsaid.

What do you think? Do you agree with him?

Major Blow For The Mwafaka Awards As Arthur K. Pulls Out Of Their Organising Team

Renowned events manager Arthur K. (Kamau) has chosen to pull out of the Mwafaka Awards show, which he had been contracted to organise.

Arthur claims that he had drawn up a master plan for the awards show, but Didiero Aaron, the founder of the Mwafaka awards, was not willing to give him the resources to pull off a world-class event.

This is a massive disruption to the Mwafaka awards, as it hustles to stake its claim in a Kenyan market that’s quickly saturating with very many gospel award shows. So far, this is how the Mwafaka awards are promising to be different:

They will be based on:

  • song video plays on local television and radio stations in the country
  • fan interactions on music including albums sales downloads and radio and TV airplay
  • tracked all year long by a panel of judges and data collections partners on tracking period of June 2012 to June 2013
  • artists will be paid for winning their respective awards

Find out more about the show here: https://www.ghafla.co.ke/news/events/item/9596-the-mwafaka-awards-are-here-to-show-groove-how-a-gospel-award-show-should-be-done

Openly Gay Artist Joji Baro Now Accuses a Gospel Artist of Being a Fornicator

Monday, Gospel ministry’s new hottest act Kimdanny Masivo hit out at Kenya’s first artist to come out of the closet, Joji Baro. According to Kimdanny, should quit seeking publicity using Gospel. This comment did not go down well with Joji Baro who has come out guns blazing.

Joji Baro did not mince his words when he swung at Kimdanny even mentioning the incident where he (Kimdanny) was accused of impregnating a young girl and taking off. Here’s Baro’s response;

Kim Danny should know it is “straight” people who led to natural sin by eating the apple from the middle tree. Here we are talking about doing what is convenient and repent later.

There are many holier than thou in sheep skin and I think it is time they ought to stop pretending and embrace their sexuality. Isn’t Kim Danny who once fornicated and refused to claim the pregnancy?

The bible says let he who is holy cast the first stone. He is a fornicator and I am a homosexual but the bottom line is we are all gospel singers. How many gospel artist who are gay yet they preach water and drink wine?

Kim Danny should let me embrace my sexuality as he does to his fornication
