Thursday September 5th will go down as the day when radio queen Caroline Mutoko and Nairobi Senator faced off live on air with the senator losing his cool and lashed out at the celebrated radio presenter. So much has been said about the incident with KOT taking sides on who between the two celebs was wrong/right and now the dust is slowly settling down.

However, Sonko has issued a statement in response to Caroline’s earlier post defending his position. Here it is;

In view of Caroline Mutoko’s earlier post the reason as to why I called KISS FM was to complain about the discussion going on about my daughter and not to be interviewed. I have attended other interviews and reacted positively towards them.I have always reiterated that I won’t allow anyone to joke around with my family. Previously on the same show, they discussed how Chipukeezy will impregnate the President’s daughter and today they discussed the same in respect to my daughter. This prompted me to respond not out of anger but out of love for my daughter just as any father would do. I appreciate the fact that he’s made an effort to issue out a public apology but the damage has already been done.

With that said, I will always stand by my people, I will help them out whenever I can and nobody is going to change that.

Yesterdy, I sought to find out just who between these sqaubbling former love-birds Kenyans believe and Kenyans responded resoundingly and I have to admit that I didn’t anticipate this outcome. I truly didn’t see this coming!

And maybe it’s because I have spoken to quite a number of media big wigs who have intimated that they had heard rumours about the former KTN news anchor and former Team Uhuru PR strategists’ alleged indiscretions. I was actually recently with a media personality who said that David’s problem is that he is a really “sweet” guy.

According to the hollywood reporter Brad Pitt is celebrating his most successful film to date at the global box office, not accounting for inflation.World War Z

Over the weekend, the worldwide total for his zombie movie World War Z grew to $502.6 million, surpassing the $497.3 million earned by historical epic Troy.

From Paramount and Skydance Productions, World War Z is one of the summer’s few success stories. The movie has grossed $197.4 million domestically (also a best for Pitt) and $305.2 million at the foreign box office.

In the movie, Pitt plays an ex-United Nations investigator who traverses the globe in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Marc Forster directed World War Z, which is based on Max Brooks’ novel. The movie was a passion project for Pitt, who produced alongside Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Ian Bryce.

By all accounts, the tent pole overcame substantial hurdles, including a lengthy delay in releasing the movie after the final act needed to be reworked.

Earlier this year, we saw Kenyan actors came home with awards; Maureen Koech won Best Supporting actress for her role in the drama series Lies That Bind, Ngendo Mukii’s Yellow fever film won in the category of Short film, the XYZ show won Best TV series.

And now, actors, actress, producers, film makers, camera crew and make-up artists are being called upon to submit their content for the awards. The AMVCAs were created to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution made by Pan African filmmakers, actors and technicians in the success of the continent’s film and television industry.

The official announcement of the 2014 AMVCAs was made on Sunday 28^th July on Africa’s biggest reality show, Big Brother. This after Big Brother invited 2013 AMCA award winners, Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah and director Akin Omotoso, to judge a movie task that was presented by the housemates last Thursday.

This year a total of 28 awards in 26 categories will be awarded ranging from acting and directing to scriptwriting and cinematography, with 9 of those categories being voted for by the viewers. Other areas in which honours will be given are editing, make-up, sound, lighting, including the most anticipated of the whole ceremony, the Industry Merit Award and the Trailblazer of The Year Award.

Entry is free and the deadline for all submissions is Friday 18 October at 19:00 (CAT). This morning, something few and far between happened. Radio queen Caroline Mutoko called up Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi a.k.a. Mike Sonko seeking to inquire about his plans for the county and its residents.

However, somewhere in between the conversation Senator Sonko went off on Caroline when he didn’t like the direction the dialog was taking. This made the flashy Senator reveal his displeasure with Mutoko’s co-host, comedian Chipukeezy, who has been apparently been making bad jokes about Sonko’s daughter, Saumu, making the senator say that he will ‘deal with him’ personally.

According to Sonko, Chipukeezy has been trying to have a quickie with Saumu and that Caroline and Chipukeezy have been discussing how he (Chipukeezy) wants to have sex with his daughter.

Chipukeezy was quick to point out that everything he says about Saumu is in jest, revealing that he and Saumu are even friends on Facebook and inbox each other from time to time. Nonetheless, Caroline advised Chipukeezy to apologize to Sonko then unfriend and block Saumu on Facebook since egocentrism won’t solve anything.

It’s at this point that Chipukeezy took to his Facebook fan-page and made an apology to Senator Sonko;

You know sh*t just got real when you start meeting your beau’s mum.Well this happened to former  Zimbabwean housemate Pokello Nare recently.

The diva then took to twitter to update her fans on her blossoming relationship with the mother of  Ghanian Finalist Elikem.

Pokello tweeted: “Mama aint playing when it comes to me. She on a serious ting woo!! ”
She also took to the micro blogging network and posted another photo of her and her new mum saying: “Spending the day with my mother in law.”

I think its safe to say that this relationship might just overcome distance.Are those wedding bells I hear?

Churchill’s protege Eric Omondi is by far one of the most entertaining comedian around.

He embodies all that a comedian should be;he has this uncanny ability to poke fun at him self,make hilarious parodies,cross dress and best of all crack jokes that make him a darling to Kenyans.

Last evening, it was finally confirmed that the Kenyan man who emerged Monday claiming to be the biological father to this year’s BBA winner, Dillish Matthews, is in fact her real dad.

This is after Dillish’s mum, Selma Pashukeni, positively identified Abdi Galgayo Guyo close to 23 years later via a Google hangout facilitated by the Standard Group. And now, the 22 year old Namibian (now half-Kenyan) has admitted that she’s a Kenyan; a Borana for that matter and recognizes Guyo as her biological father.

A palpably elated Dillish tweeted how proud she is to be a Borana girl;

She then thanked the Lord for “giving her all she’s been begging for”. Last week it emerged that Dillish and her family were on a mission to find her real father and now that mission has been accomplished;

So by now we all know by now that Nick Mutuma is the only Kenyan acting in the forthcoming Shuga which will rightfully be shot in Nigeria, the home of true African acting talent aye? Well, I have news for you that just might uplift the actors of Kenya monetarily speaking.

Gone are the days when asking actors to appear in a role was only going to cost a production company 5,000 shillings. Gone are the days when Kenyan actors were paid monies that seemed to imply that the production was doing them a favour by having them participate.

Nick Mutuma is poised to become the highest paid Kenyan actor threshold crossing over the 2,000 USD$ that’s right! Nick Mutuma makes a cool 2,000USD$ or 170,000/- according to an anonymous source close to the heart of production.

If this is anything to go by, he might just aswell as have opened the door for other Kenyan actors to begin demand that Lasgidi money… Sorry, that Nollywood money!
But again, that will depend on Kenyan actors sticking together and demanding that good money!

After all the denials Ghafla! can now confirm that Kenyan ex-soldier Abdi Galgalo Guyo is Dillish Matthew’s real biological father.

Dillish’s mother, Selma Pashukeni has confirm to Standard Group that Guyo is indeed is the BBA winner’s real biological dad.

In a Google hangout organized by the Kenyan Embassy in Namibia and the Standard Group, Selma and Guyo were able to talk to each other for the first time in close to 23 years. The hangout was witnessed by the Kenyan Ambassador to Namibia, Peter Gitau, Dillish’s uncle and aunt.

According to SDE, emotions ran high as Selma positively identified the former KDF soldier. The two former lovebirds took a stroll down the memory lane as they relived their last moment together at the airport where they last saw each other.

Guyo explained that while he tried his best to keep in touch, his hectic army schedule and the extremely slow communication modes hindered him from communicating.

Dillish’s uncle was quick to remind Guyo to visit Namibia with loads of money as gratitude for all the work he did raising up Dillish in Guyo’s absence.

In the end, Guyo was invited to Namibia to celebrate Dillish’s 23^rd birthday on the 16^th of September.

I love animated movies and the blue fictional creatures called The Smurfs movies are one of my favorites.So this weekend I will definitely make my way to the Village Market to catch the sequel of The Smurfs that I am told will contain a little rude humor and action.*rubs hands in anticipation*

Linda Oguttuh is pregnant! She isn’t too happy that I broke her closely guarded secret. Thing is however, I didn’t know it was meant to be a secret. But now that i do, I can honestly relate.

And as they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And Linda Oguttuh has taken shots. She called me scum. That to be honest is neither here nor there. I don’t care for insults. i have heard better actually.

However with that said, as a celebrity, you forego your right to a personal life. Everything you do is in the public domain. That is the sacrifice you make. And whenever you feel like you are tired ofliving your life in public, you can always hang up your boots.

I can relate to how sensitive having a baby is but work must be done. For now however,

Cynthia Nyamai’s husband recently came out accusing his former wife of engaging in professional bed hopping. According to her, she seemed to be in a bid to contest for the Olympic gold medal. She on the other hand came out first kicking and screaming and telling everyone how she was battered by a man who had delusions of grandeur thinking himself a world class pugilist.

But now, we ask you the Ghafla reader, what version of events you believe. Do you believe that Cynthia Nyamai is the wronged faithful wife whose adulterer husband was jumping for anything in a skirt or that David Makuyu was the cuckold he claims to be. The long suffering man who tried time and again to fix things with his wife only for her to spurn him time and again?
