We all know that Emmy Kosgei’s marriage to the Head Pastor of Revival Assembly Church Nigeria, Apostle Anselm Madubuko was met with a lot of resistance and slapdowns.The heat was mostly on Emmy but Anselm has had his share of negative publicity in his home country as he remarried after only one year after he lost his wife Connie.

Speaking to Nigeria’s Encomium he explains why he chose to marry to marry an year after he lost his wife

“It is how I have chosen to do it. I have decided to move on. I found out that even 10 years will not be enough to forget my late wife. 20 years still will not be enough to forget my late wife. The time anybody remarries has nothing to do with your former partner. And that’s one thing people fail to understand. We were married for many years and suddenly I was left alone. It’s about many things, companionship.

Once that person close to you goes, you can never forget the person. It is a matter of picking up one’s pieces and moving on. I can’t forget Connie, she was my life, it’s just about moving on. I don’t listen to people. If you re-marry or don’t re-marry people must talk. I thought I wasn’t going to re-marry but God said that is not his plans for me. He chose Emmy Kosgei for me. I chose to trust God more than my mind. I am looking forward to having more children.”

They formed  the dynamic duo on the One F.M drive but greener pastures called and Tina left for Classic 105.

This fast rising blogger ivixdk at wordpress.com caught up with the duo and this is how the interview went down :

iVix: What do the initials JB stand for?
JB: It’s Junior Box, coming from Masanduku Junior.

iVix: Who is Tina Kagia in many words?
Tina: Haha. A loving tiny lady, radio presenter, a mother, a cockroach hater.

iVix: Have you ever used your humor to get out of trouble?
JB: Haha yes. I was once arrested and I made jokes for the cops… I was surprised they let me go just like that.

iVix: Hosting breakfast and drive shows is massive, how did you land one.
Tina: I was poached haha. I saw this as an opportunity to grow and also help our local music get to higher heights as opposed to my previous station.

iVix: Having your brother DNA and cousin DNG in music, how comes you haven’t followed suit?
Tina: Hahaha I don’t have the voice.

iVix: What do you engage in from the time you wake up till 3PM when your drive show starts?
Tina: A lot. I’m a mum, a Voice Over Artist so I do commercials, I also own a company with JB.

iVix: There are a lot of guys who look up to you, if they wanted to be comedians would you advice that it be their only career especially in Kenya?
JB: At times it’s tricky here. I’d advice that at a point that they’re making a few coins, invest it back to what you are doing and it will eventually pay. Comedy is becoming a big business.

iVix: What is the industry like in Kenya?
Tina: It’s unforgiving, because guys who love you today are the same on your case tomorrow, very volatile and a lot of fun. Definitely a great industry to be in, just know how to handle what comes with it.

iVix: What don’t we know about you guys?
Tina: JB is scared of the dark, scared of dogs and has a fear of the unknown haha.
JB: Tina is scared of heights, crawling stuff and insects, loves animals, and has three German Shepherds.
JB and Tina. We are both very God fearing, he’s helped us get this far.

iVix: Both you guys are among the most humble personalities. So, how do you cope with being noticed by every eye in the streets?
Tina: Haha, most guys don’t know what I look like so it’s easy for me. They think I’m big and all haha.

iVix: Special from a fan, when are you getting married?
Tina and JB: Hahaha. Soon

iVix: Final word…
Tina: Pursue what you want, be God fearing and, when life gives you lemon take tequila hahaha
JB: Seek yee first the kingdom and all shall be added unto you.

Maina Kageni is arguably one of the most influential presenters of all time he is your go-to guy when you want your product to sell .He is so convincing  he would probably sell salt to a slug which explains the number of ad slots in his show.

She is a witty,confident straight-shooter with a knack for silencing her haters.You love her and hate her in equal measure but there is one thing we can agree,this woman is one of the most brilliant media personalities in Kenya.

One thing about Caroline is that her advice is always on point,for one to excel this is what she advices:

Too many of us get caught up in the vortex of ‘I hate my job, I hate my boss, I wish I could get a better job… etc’.

When you finally decide that the job is about you, your goals, your future plans and your life, then how you perform on the job changes. You work for you, knowing fully well that your energy and effort reward the things you have envisioned for yourself.”

In doing so, one gets focused, output increases, and instances to sit around and whine are reduced.

“The best part is you are rewarded for what you do. That is how it works for me. Going to work with the mentality that you are doing your boss, board or even your colleagues a favour is daft at the very least. News-flash – they can go on without you.”

As earlier told, Gospel songbird, Emmy Kosgei was earlier in the week presented a brand new BMW X6 as her wedding present by her Nigerian husband, Aposter Anselm Madubuko. The mid-size luxury crossover German machine even bears Emmy’s name, JEMTY M (short form of Jemutai Madubuko).

After bagging the Best Newcomer award during last year’s Talanta Awards held in Washington, Ogopa Deejays and Gospel award winning artiste Silas Mwenda a.k.a. Silas Kenya has just revealed that he’s about to recording his collabo with American contemporary gospel duo Mary Mary at Columbia Records, in New York.

Silas was scheduled to record the same last year but was unable due to some unavoidable circumstances, taking the opportunity to launch his Debut album to Kenyans in the diaspora first before his main launch in Nairobi.

Silas has also been invited to perform at the Presidential Reception meeting, by the UN mission to Kenya in Manhattan New York City, Thursday next week September 26th where President Uhuru Kenyatta and many other dignitaries will be present. This comes shortly after he had a great performance last year at the same annual meeting while he was in the US, which too opened another door to perform in State House Nairobi during last year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations.

Silas’ debut single Nakuhitaji, released few years ago, introduced him to the music scene and did fairly well as it received some considerable airplay across some Kenyan music shows.

Fortunately, it got nominated and scooped two American gospel Music awards last year a midst some tours in USA,and Japan early this year.I have a new song out this week called Shukrani and my debut album called Tamu Tamu is dropping in December.

Kenyan alternative hip hop group, Camp Mulla is just about to receive a run for its money after its record label; Sub-Sahara Entertainment LTD announced the official signing of their new lead male solo artist, Biko through a label-to-label deal with Roulette Music.

The brawny, multitalented 24yr old, also well known for his dancing skills, eagerly penned the new deal expressing, “I’m excited about my new home, and it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It’s a dream come true.”

Born in Migori, South Nyanza and raised in the UK from ten years of age, Biko started performing at the age of fourteen, as well as recording and writing songs at sixteen. Hotly pursued by various record labels, he signed to Roulette Music where his talent was nurtured.

After a few years of grooming Biko, Roulette Music has now established a partnership with Sub-Sahara Entertainment LTD, where Biko is already recording songs and working on collaborations with fellow label mates.

CEO of Sub-Sahara Entertainment LTD Suzanne Gachukia stated, “We are ecstatic about signing BIKO. He is a highly talented artist who will superbly fill the Dance Pop void that has long been in East Africa.”

We’ve been here before but yet again we’re here. Well, last evening, Kenyan Rap legend Abbas Kubaff aka Doobeez of K – South, went on a short twitter rant tearing apart Kibera’s finest, Octopizzo.

This was after a fan tweeted claiming that Octopizzo, who is currently in UK (Manchester), is making money while the likes of Abbas, Bamboo and Chiwawa hate as they paying rent back in Kenya. This obviously did not go down well with Abbas who unleashed salvo after salvo at Octo.

Abbas even revealed that he is tired of this name-calling guys are doing. Check out the thread below;

They say that money cannot buy you happiness or love but they also say that love does not food on the table.Maina and King’ang’i this morning explore this prickly relationship between love and money posing the question.Is it all about the money?

What happens when you get married? Is it that when you get kids, it’s an ‘insurance measure’ that guarantees you’ll live a good life? I didn’t hear much from women yesterday but it turns out that women seem to use children as a trap. Such that if a man leaves her, she will use the fact that they had children within the court of law. However, if the man is not very rich or successful, they won’t bother.

Speaking to Salon magazine the recently saved star had this to say about how the song that made her famous came about ” There was a party in my house and among the invited guests were Abbass, a famous rapper and my good friend. He dared me to sing but I told him all I can do is rap. He again dared me to do it. We sat at a corner and Abbass gave me a story from which I extracted some lyrics. We wrote the song that night and the following day we were in the studio recording. After a week the song was out and I was pleasantly impressed by my voice and the positive response the song got. It was playing all over and this confirmed that we came up with something beautiful. Tokelezea is basically a fun song and does not address anything in particular.”

Former Capital FM presenter and Uganda’s ex Big Brother Africa housemate, Gaetano Jjuko Kaggwa is bereaved.

Gaetano lost his uncle, Mr. Kiyimba Kaggwa, a former Minister of Lands for Buganda and a powerful man who once offered the Wankaaki [gate] at Lubiri Palace. Friends and family are sending in their condolences on Twitter.

Gaetano was the Capital FM’s breakfast show host alongside Eve D’Souza before both of them leaving the station in 2011. Gaetano then joined Radio Africa Group Limited’s Kiss TV as a Producer/Anchor.

He rose to fame when he represented Uganda in the first edition of Big Brother Africa in 2003. Gaetano made it to the final day of the Big Brother Africa finishing in 5th place ahead of Namibian representative Stefan Ludik but behind Botswana’s Warona Setshwaelo. He is also most remembered for starting a romantic relationship with South African housemate Abby Plaatjes.
