Meet Sauti Sol’s Bien’s Mother (PHOTO)

I love it when I see a lad appreciate his mother. To me, as I was taught by a female cousin, it signifies that he knows how to treat his woman like a queen. and anyone with a female relative they love knows how important this is.

But this one isn’t about relationship advice. This one is about Bien showing appreciation for his mummy and to his mummy. and he recently took to his instagram account to post a heartfelt and heart warming message thanking God fior his mummy and her for caring for and nurturing him.

And this is what he posted:

bienaimealusa GOD really gave this to me for free. A Mother, Friend, Pillar, Soldier and hottest girl I know. Love u mum

Willy Paul Sitting KCSE This Year

Willy Paul’s life is rather a rather well documented tale of tragedy and triumph. A few stumbles along the way and afew temptations but ultimate triumph. It’s a rather inspiring tale and the lad has decided to embark on a new chapter.

That of a candidate sitting his national examinations. That’s right, this year, Willy Paul will be one of the many candidates taking their KCSE exam in the hopes of landing admission into one of Kenya’s public universities.
And his many celebrity friends are wishing him nothing but the best as he sits this exam and we too at Ghafla wish Willy Paul success.

Check out how DK Kwenye Beat wished him success below:

IMAX’s Biggest Film Stuck At Customs. Senator Mike Sonko To The Rescue

IMAX planned to premier the highly anticipated Gravity last week, but a few hours to the first screening, they still weren’t sure whether it would happen.

“We had scheduled to premier Gravity 3D today 18th October at 7PM although our distributors have encountered a minor bump with its delivery, we still plan to premier it today if all goes well.”

Well, it didn’t happen. Neither did the premier take place on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and today. IMAX has now explained what the “minor bump” was and why the film still hasn’t been shown four days after the planned date.

“To our dear fans, we at IMAX wish you all a happy Mashujaa Day and a fun long weekend. We would also like to apologize for the delay of the premiere of GRAVITY.

We still do not have any information as to why we are not able to have the movie cleared from customs while all other cinema’s have it.

We have seeked the assistance of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, who at this moment is working on it and IMAX Corporation to try and get to the bottom of this incident.

We Thank you all for your patience and understanding and we hope we will soon have the movie and you will all enjoy an amazing IMAX experience when you get to watch it.Thank you all”

Open Letter to Christians from Kenya’s Leading Entertainer

One of the pioneers of Kenya’s Urban Gospel Ministry, Big Kev (Kevin Ombajo) was recently surprised by the reactions of Kenyan Christians when it emerged that MCSK’s boss, Mahmoud (formerly Maurice) Okoth converted to Islam in order to marry his sweetheart, Shamillah.

With close to 500 responses, Big Kev decided to respond to the inapt ideologies of the commentatrors. Here’s that;

I’m appalled by what i have read and want to address this first as a Christian and secondly because Maurice is my brother and friend………

Being one of the founders of the Urban Gospel industry in Kenya and considering our experiences, i will keep my responses limited to Biblical teaching and what the scriptures say. I will use capital letters to emphasize what i think is important……

I do not usually write controversial posts and this is my PERSONAL OPINION on the matter. Luke 10:27states “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength, love your neighbor as you love yourself”………Jesus said this to fulfill the law and usher in the era of GRACE………the cornerstone of our faith is LOVE

1 John 4:20 states “whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar”. “For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen”…..

i am APPALLED BY THE LEVEL OF HATE SPEECH directed towards Maurice for HIS choice to revert to Islam to marry his bride yet Philippians 2:12 states “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence The Apostle Paul tells the Philippians to WORK OUT ” YOUR OWN SALVATION ” WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING!”

Kindly consider that whatever the consequences this HIS CHOICE does not deserve condemnation from the rest of us rather pray for him……..If we want to minister to the world Christianity teaches that we shall do so BY LOVE! The posts have generated into open condemnation and abuse by self-righteous people who may not even enter the gates of heaven themselves

Mahmoud (sitted 2nd Left) with his wife, Shamillah and friends during their wedding

Mathew 7:21-23 states “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven”………We choose not to say the things that need to be said yet we defile our Fathers temple by kicking our very own fallen soldiers out into the cold with un-forgiveness in our hearts and a distinct lack of passion.

John 15:13 states””Greater love hath no man this, that a man lays down his life for his friends”””, this IS the love that Christ taught us 10 Romans 6

“But the righteousness that is by faith says…”Do not say in your heart ‘who will ascend into heaven? That is to bring Christ down or who will descend into the deep that is to bring Christ up from the dead, Verse 9 “if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved….

As scripture says, anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him…..next verse says ANYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED”

John 14:6 Jesus said I am the way the truth and the light, no one comes to the Father but by me……This is what we believe………in the context of my letter above we can only share this Gospel through love…………let us stop stepping on those that do not share our beliefs, but rather love them, because this is what Christ has commanded, after all your salvation by faith is a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP between you and Christ because you have been saved by Grace and not through works as all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God…….

My final say on this is that we are losing out on many souls (our brothers and sisters) because we do not love on them, we cannot FORCE anyone to believe what we believe, because salvation is by grace….let us stop kicking out those that have sinned but instead forgive them SEVENTY x SEVEN states Mathew 18:21-23 (how many have we lost this way)……….let me not even start on the Fake Doctrines being preached on our Screens and Pulpits and a Gospel industry that is falling way short of Christs teachings Mathew 24:24 For false Messiahs will arise and prophets of lies, and they will give great signs so as to deceive, if possible EVEN THE ELECT behold, i have told you in advance””…………….In Jesus Name

Do you agree with Big Kev?

East FM Presenter & Westgate Survivor’s Son ‘Befitting’ Advice to the President

Kamal Kaur hit the headlines on 22nd September (a day after the Westgate Mall terrorist attack) when she described the full horror of the carnage in a succession of tweets; how the terrorists got to the rooftop of the mall and started spraying guns where children and women were. Kaur, East FM’s presenter as well as a columnist in ‘The Star’ is back to the headlines.

Earlier yesterday, Kaur posted on her blog what her 8 year old advised the Head of State to do concerning terrorists. Here’s an excerpt of that;

Hello. I’m Kamal Kaur and I’m a Westgate Survivor and for now that is all I’m going to talk about that incidence.

My 8 year old son’s advice to the President and the Minister for Security is stop worrying about what Somalia is doing. Stay at the border and guard our country from there instead of going to their country to fight them. If a stranger came into our home and started attacking us, we retaliate by attacking back and calling security right?

Simplistic views of an 8 year old but I agree with him. Biased or not, he made sense to me. Let’s look after our own home before we go out sorting other peoples’ manenos. Fifty years on and we are still being ridiculed by the world when our own lawmakers can be so corrupt and turn against us to loot us.

I am angry and I feel very violated. If you have ever been robbed or have had a gun pointed at you or even shot at you, I’m sure you will know what I mean. This is not the first time I’ve had a gun shoved into my face. I’m all for community policing and agree with the directive that these thugs should be shot on sight. They lost their right to humanitarian rights when they decided they could start taking lives to loot.

The Shebesh-Sonko Song Makes It To The Top 10 Most Downloaded Songs In Kenya

Pirating music makes it truly hard for an artiste to make money off their music. And what telecom services offer is barely enough to make a decent living considering the services keep 85-90% of the song sales.

Mdundo.com is however their knight in shining armor as artistes get to keep 100% of the money they make. This is through scratch cards bought by the fans from mdundo that that permit the fans to download music from the site.Without further ado here are the musicians making money this week off mdundo:

Former TPF Contestant’s Dream Falls Short of Coming True!

Legendary Tupac Shakur once stated that “Reality is wrong; Dreams are for real.” It may be true to some people but for former Tusker Project Fame one (TPF) and Idol contestant, Christine Apondi.

The silky voiced singer, who was recently featured by Kunguru in his comeback track “Superstar”, had a dream which failed to become a reality. How? Find out below;

Yesterday after Mashujaa Day Celebration at Nyayo Stadium, I found a small bag on the ground near the parking

I opened it and behold what I found inside…….; wacheni tu!!!

A bundle of 1k notes (approximately Kshs. 350,000)i was very scared, but I took the bag home and when I emptied It, I found some Documents, ID card, ATM card and an Iphone. I thought about throwing the simcard away and keeping the phone and also dispose the documents and keep the money.

After a long thought, I decided to leave things as they were, hoping that the owner would call. Not long after a call came through on the Iphone, I picked and talked with the caller. Apparently it was the owner of the bag
coz he named absolutely every content of the bag.

We met afterwards & I handed him the bag.He offered me 50,000 but I turned it down, he took my number and I left.

He called me early this morning around 530am and offered me a job as the Country Director, Turkish Airlines worth Kshs. 820,000 per month, a fully furnished 3 bedroom apartment at State House Rd, and a 2013 BMW X6!

As I was thanking God, Smiling and testing the Car….

….my siz just spanked me and said “!! wewe …..hebu amka amka amka!!

Dream on Christine…dream on.

Kenyan Rap Legend Living in Germany Kicking it With Deputy President (Photos)

When the country celebrated Mashujaa Day, Sunday, Deputy President, William Ruto who is away for his ICC trials could not make it to Nyayo Stadium. However, that did not dampen the spirit of patriotism as he travelled to Brussels, Belgium to celebrate the day with Kenyans living there.

Among the notable Kenyans who attended the event was Kenya’s rap icon, K-Nel who even had a chance to crack a joke with the Deputy President. Here’s that;

‘Usha Mali’ As A Child (Photo)

Mkamzee Mwatela is certainly an actress to behold. She plays the sassy, selfish and not forgetting a little entitled, scheming villain Usha Mali.

Usha is the the second wife to a family that is ‘United By Blood but divided by greed’ .A part that she pulls off so convincingly.

Usha is not your typical wife, she does not cower due to the stereotypes on second wives, she knows she has every right to be in the family and even constantly walks over people to get what she wants!

Despite her wicked Character,Mkamzee is one of the most popular actresses in Kenya right now and people cannot wait for Mali to hit our screens for its next season to catch more of Usha!

I stumbled upon a picture of Mkamzee as a baby and my wasn’t she just awwwdorable?

Stealing in The Name of Dennis Itumbi

Yes, paper chasing is part and parcel of man world over because we’ve got bills to pay. However, there are guys who have devised some unconventional and quirky paper chase.

This morning, Director Digital, New Media & Diaspora in Office of the Presidentotherwise known as “Government blogger”, Dennis Itumbi, revealed that someone has been calling and emailing higher education institutions impersonating Itumbi.

The fraudster has been asking for the institutions’ projects on the promise that he would deliver laptops and money to put up halls of residence. Itumbi has cautioned the public against to report the individual to the relevant authorities as investigations are carried.

There is a conman on the loose – he has been calling all Technical Institutes and telling Principals to hand him all the projects they have and he would in turn hand them laptops and money to build Dorms – He says he is Peter Itumbi and then uses the email dennisitumbi@gmail.com, he also copies it to munyoriboku@gmail.com – Both Emails are fabrications. Action has been taken by reporting to relevant authorities, but as investigations go on, just be aware…

Norwegian-Kenyan Rapper Stella Mwangi (STL) Embraces Her Kikuyu Roots (Photos)

The say that Mwacha Mila Ni Mtumwa (He who denounces his cultures is a slave) and singer/rapper/songwriter STL is certainly not a ‘Mwacha Mila’

Despite growing up in Norway for a large part of her life, the celebrated rapper has managed to preserve her culture thanks to her father.

Her father made sure she and her siblings learned Gikuyu language and Swahili even far away from home. It is said that he used cultural music and poetry to teach them the languages and this inspired Stella’s music and her connection to the Kenyan culture. The singer even managed to produce a song in Gikuyu called Biashara that appealed not only to Kenyans but also Non-Kenyans.

Stella Mwangi has not stopped at singing in Kikuyu but was even recently involved in a Kikuyu ceremony where a lot of traditional beer(Muratina) was partaken.

Meet Victoria Kimani And Bamboo’s Parents

Sassy,Sexy and Smart are some of the adjectives that can be used to describe Bamboo’s Little sister Victoria Kimani.Vicky who debuted into the music scene when she was featured in her big brother’s song Love Vs Hate has certainly grown in leaps and bounds and has managed to step out of her brother’s (Bamboo) shadow.

Find Out Why Daddy Owen’s Latest Addiction is The Cross

Daddy Owen has made a return with a brand new track that is set to make its home on the charts, shortly after releasing “Utamu Wa Maisha” featuring Juliani.

With his latest release, Kazi Ya Msalaba, Daddy Owen makes a proclamation. “A lot of times many people ask you ‘Unafanya kazi gani?’. P-Unit Heads South With Their New Track

In the past year they expressed their music prowess by exploring different genres of music with their provoking reggae collabo featuring Collo “You Guy” and later the exhilarating lingala collabo “Mobimba” featuring Alicios.

Last Friday, the dynamic genge trio, now in their tenth year of music have released a new single “Show Time” set in South African version of house music popularly known as Kwaito.

Boneye, Frasha and Gabu AKA P Unit narrate of being inspired on this track by reflections of their life experience which is an intricate balance between a career in architecture, fashion and medicine by day respectively and entertainment through their music by night.

“Show Time” a unique musical production by Decimal Records blends well with the groups’ musical strategy with its kwaito style targeted to allow the band to tap into the lucrative Southern Africa market. In a press release shared with media, Gabu of P Unit says, “We had great success with our last two hits making it into the charts in the West African market and this proved to us the versatility of our style of ‘genge’ music inspiring us to make this latest move to Kwaito.”

The chorus of the new track has a noticeable mention of a local brandy produced by EABL ‘Richot’. The incorporation of brands in musical content is no longer a new phenomenon across the globe with several top rap artistes such as Ace Hood and Drake popularization of top brands Bugatti and Versace respectively. Commenting on this Frasha of P Unit says, “Above all else – we are Kenyans first and just as we are a home grown product we are proud of other local brands and therefore our choice of Richot was by no means accidental.”

TPF Judge Ian Tells Off His Critics

Tusker Project Fame season six has received quite the icy reception as compared to its predecessors.First, the fans felt that the new presenter Joey Muthengi was bland and could not fill the shoes of her fore runner Sheila Mwanyighah.

And now just like every other season Judge Ian is being attacked over his ”judgement skills” that some feel are a bit too much.

Six seasons later one would think people have gotten used to Ian’s tough love. And as usual Ian did not take this lying down and his critics were addressed rather sarcastically.Have a look:

@ianmbugua ‏@IanMbugua 20 Thank you for all your advice on how I should judge. On how I should be myself. I had no idea I was meant to think, hear, and see like you!

@ianmbugua ‏@IanMbugua Now the hating begins (like I care) I love my job. This is me! I speak my mind. I convey my opinion. MINE! Bite me! #TPF6

The Ghafla! juggernaut just keeps rolling on and on.

Over the past few months, we noticed that Ghafla, though we had a lot of traffic, we weren’t retaining them very well. On 1 million monthly readers, we were getting around 2 million pageviews, which meant that every reader was reading about 2 pages total on the site. Those figures pointed to a problem of not having engaging content. After a deep self analysis, we decided to come up with several
serial stories that would keep readers coming back. Before, we only had the Ghafla! “Photo Of The Day” and the “Ghafla!Poll” that readers could look out for on any given day. But we’ve added a lot more serialized pieces of content, like “Ghafla!Girls” and Ghafla!Guys,” “Fashion Evolution,” “Top 10 Box Office,” which appear daily/weekly on our website. These serial stories have also been given their own sections on Ghafla! in order for their fans to browse them easily.

Apart from the engagement, we increased our pageviews, allowing us to sell our ads at a lower CPM of .43$. That price is competitive with the ad networks of the largest web companies, Google & Facebook. Also when you compare our CPM(.43$) with the CPM of leading publishers like Nation(5$) and Standard(3-4$), you’ll find that we’re the most reasonably priced amongst the “Big 4” Kenyan news sites.

A compelling proposition for both our readers and advertisers in the end. Everybody wins. Onwards and upwards then!

Open Letter: Upcoming DJ Complains That Kaytrixx Doesn’t Respect Other Deejays

Sometimes I receive some open letters targeting Kenyan celebrities and I put them up because I feel they merit being read and they are constructive criticism. However, on this one I was a little conflicted because I consider Kaytrixx the Entertainer a friend and he is a down to earth lad. But I am Uncle Chim and not some mancy. Emotions get tossed aside when I get down to my Ghafla tip.

But that being said, let me share with you an email I received from an upcoming DJ who was lamenting about an aleged slight he suffered at the hands of Kaytrixx the Entertainer:

I just dont like how dj kaytrixx treats upcoming deejays during events that he we will be spinning alongside other upcoming events. He should know that he also passed through the same stage that we are now. He should stop calling upcoming deejays amateures and stop bragging on how big he is in the showbiz industry. You can contact me on 071788*73*

I attempted to reach the DJ in question to no avail. Have your say, do you feel Kaytrixx has grown too big for his breeches?

Why Jaguar is Also a “Shujaa”

Sunday, the country celebrated Mashujaa Day characterized by pomp and colour with the head of state headlining the celebrations. While the rest of us unwound thanks to the long weekend in another part of Nairobi, singer Jaguar was making a difference in someone’s life.

Just a couple of days after he led the disarmament mission of the feuding Dandora dumpsite groups, a gesture that earned respect and admiration from his fans, Jaguar was on yet another altruistic mission. Jaguar and Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, celebrated Mashujaa Day by hosting a big party for inmates at the Kamiti Medium Security Prison with their friends and families.

The inmates had a chance of mingling with their loved ones for the whole day. Entertainment was top notch as all the inmates’ kids were face painted, they had a lot of fun playing on the 5 bouncing castles hired for them. There were performances from the “Kipepeo” singer, Ringtone and the talented Sarakasi acrobats.

Here are photos from that;

Rabbit’s New Video Out. Check Out The Awesome Track “1963”Here

If I say I like Kaka Sungura a.k.a Rabbit, I wouldn’t be on a trip using his nads for locomotion. I would merely be stating facts. And fact is, Rabbit is a pretty cool dude. He recently released his brand nw track “1963”at Imax’s Arfa Afra Lounge on Sunday and even then when it was his day, he was as down to earth as a worm.

Gotta love the lad! I know my respect for him went a notch higher when he bought a street kid some snacks and even posed with him for a photograph.

Anyway, away from all that, he launched the track “1963” which features Tim Rimbui and Kanana and the video was done by Enos Olik. The track is a celebration of the milestones Kenya has achieved and it was only fitting that he drop it on such an auspicious date in the Kenyan calendar to celebrate our “mashujaa”from both past and present day Kenya.

Check the video out below and let me know what you think of it in the comment section:

Caroline Mutoko Says KDF Weren’t Completely To Blame For Westgate Looting

We’reA lot has been said about the trusted Kenya Defence Forces since they were exposed as looters by Mohammed Ali in his intriguing series Jicho Pevu.Memes have been made, opinions have been aired, our soldier have fallen from glory and who can forget the now famous slogan” Nakumatt: You Need It, KDF got it”?

Kiss FM Presenter Caroline Mutoko however has a different view,KDF is not entirely to blame for  what happened at  Westgate about a month ago,we are all to blame. This is what she says:

On 21st September 2013 – a month ago today – We betrayed Kenya.

I am watching Jicho Pevu like everyone else and I feel that we haven’t found, named and shamed all the animals. I want the Hyenas, Jackals, Vultures, chickens and then the wolves. KDF can’t be the official scapegoat for what happened at Westgate? Get a grip. They didn’t set this thing in motion
This ball was set in motion by you and me. Kenyans. I am talking about the Kenyans at the Immigration department who allowed these crooks into our country for a bribe or simply by not doing their job. The Kenyans at Nyayo house who looked the other way as aliens came into the country or for a neat sum of money granted them IDs and passports.

I am talking of the Kenyans at our borders who provide safe passage to criminals and aliens. The taxi driver who may have driven the terrorists into the Mall. That Car Hire company that may have hired out their vehicle for this purpose. I want us to flash out the Hyenas and vultures of Westgate. If we don’t, this will happen again and soon. Focusing on the guys who came to the party late doesn’t help.

On 21st September 2013 – We betrayed Kenya.

I’m talking about you – the Kenyans who may have hosted these terrorists for the period they were planning this horrendous act. Westgate wasn’t a freak event. It was planned, well planned. The mall was well cased and those guys knew how to get in and get out in record time.

On 21st September 2013 – We betrayed Kenya.

We who in the pretext of helping, looted Westgate. We – the so called rescuers who looted Westgate. You and I know about them. We have heard them speaking about it. But now that EVERYONE is focused on KDF, we are hoping no-one will ask the tough questions about us.

I want to call out the employees, vultures and hyenas of the stores in Westgate. The ones who emptied the tills and cash registers even as they were running and today are breathing a sigh of relief, now that all eyes are on KDF – fisi wewe.

On 21st September 2013 – We betrayed Kenya.

We the vultures and Hyenas who subsequently robbed patients and dead bodies. Vultures in our hospitals and our mortuaries. I want to call out the foxes and hyenas and skunks whose dead bodies had loot in their pockets.

Don’t kid me that every till in every shop and every restaurant was emptied by KDF. Don’t try and hoodwink me into believing that every display case was raided by KDF. We were on the job long before they landed.

I love and applaud what Mohammed Ali and John Allan Namu are doing with Jicho Pevu. It’s lifted the lid for us to now tell the entire story. Not about KDF, those dudes were the tail end of the story of the betrayal of a nation by it’s citizens. Westgate boils down to one simple thing – a lack of patriotism on our part.

On 21st September 2013 – We betrayed Kenya and if we don’t come to grips with that – it will happen again.

Veteran Journalist Nzau Kalulu Dead.

To anyone other than the members of the yoloswager generation, Nzau Kalulu was a legend. The KBC radio personality who hosted the long standing show “sundowner”which plays mellow music from days of yore to help you unwind after a long day was one of the voices I had heard on radio for a long time.

If anything, he represented “staying power”having held down the show for eons. That was, until he passed on. I am truly sorry for his wife who stood by him every step of the way in his battle with diabetes which occassioned Kidney failure and for his children who have lost a father.

He was even on Citizen TV a while back talking about the trials and tribulations associated with the disease Diabetes which he battled bravely until his last. Watch the tribute video done in his memory below:

Gado: How Parliament Investigated The KDF-Westgate Looting Allegations. This Is Hilarious.

By now we all know the wahala the Jicho Pevu episode that showed members of KDF looting Westgate and drinking beer have caused. Kenyans on Twitter have gone in really H.A.M at the members of Kenya’s armed forces accusing them of theft and incompetence with memes and pictures being created to ensure the message gets across.

And when parliament attempted to investigate the allegations, they too found that there was no looting that went on after the terrorist scum took over Westgate and butchered innocents like wheat before a combine harvester.

But why did they come up with this finding, categorically going on record to say that there was no looting that occurred? Well:

DJ Soxxy’s Celebrates Life As A Married Man. Releases Wedding Day Picture (PICTURE)

It is said that a woman can inspire a man to aspire. For more. More money, more life. Indeed the unfocussed and mediocre quickly gain ambition once a good woman enters the story that is our life. And DJ Soxxy realized this on the day he married the love of his life.

Since then it would seem, life has been nothing but one enjoyable ride for the chap. Not because he doesn’t have any problems but because he has found someone who encourages him when lie gets tough and someone he can enjoy the god times in life aswel.

And he claims that he underwent a tremendous transformation on the day he and his bride to be officially become man and wife. He caught a serious case of maturity and since then he has done as men do after discarding his youthful ways.

Check out the picture he recently posted on instagram celebrating life:

22nd October 2013: Ten Things You Should Know This Morning

Today seemed to start off on such a promising note with Ra peeking from the clouds and after such a long relaxing weekend… Well, save for Sunday when my cousins persuaded me to attend a reggae themed night at Club Scratch that ended being utter feaces. But more on that later. For now, lets start with the hottest stories that made headway in Kenya’s entertainment industry:

#1. Today is exactly one month from my birthday.

No, really, it’s exactly a month from my birthday but the real number one article was:

East Africa Parliament Official Faults KTN’s Mohammed Ali’s “Jicho Pevu” Investigations; Terms Them Half Truths

Thanks to his eye-opening brand, “Jicho Pevu”, KTN’s Mohammed Ali has risen to become the most authoritative and bold investigative journalist in the country. Moha, as he’s commonly referred to literally dips his hands where everyone else is afraid to.

And now just a few hours before Moha and John Allan Namu’s latest “Jicho Pevu” – on the Westgate Attacks – airs on KTN, disapproval from a senior youth leader is threatening to overshadow the investigative piece.

Friday afternoon, Rawson Mugambi Muraguri, the current Executive Director and the General Secretary East Africa Youth Parliament (EAYP) as well as the leader of East Africa Youth Parliament Central Committee, has rubbished the investigative piece terming it, “conspiracy theories, propaganda and sugarcoated half thruths”.

According to Muraguri, Mohammed Ali is an Al-Shabaab sympathizer and spokesman. Here’s his full statement;

JICHO PEVU : Alashabab sympathiser and Spokesman Mohamed Ali of jicho pevu fame who is best known for exposing undercover security agents to terrorists has promised a big expose . I blame the Kenya State for making such guys famous despite peddling conspiracy theories , propaganda and sugarcoated half thruths.. Look , we all Know KDF looted WestGate . Then the Parliamentary committee came up with the DoD theory that 300Million KDF had carted away from Westgate and Kept it in their barracks for a week was just to “secure” it.. Then Moha will show KDF using bazoookas to blow up safes and drinking wines and carting away expensive electronics…. The people will trust this Alshabab spokesman more than the Ole Lenkus of this world…

Hollywood Based Kenyan Actress Lupita Nyong’o Opens About Her New Found Fame And Her Oscar Endorsement

Lupita Nyong’o is the ‘it’ girl in Hollywood right now. This follows her sterling  performance as a  slave named  Patsey in what is dubbed as “The most realistic depiction of slavery” the movie  12 years a slave. She is slated for an Oscar and is considered the only impediment to Talk Show Queen Oprah Winfrey bagging an Oscar

Huffington Post caught up with the lass and queried her about the new found fame and her Oscar buzz this is what she had to say:

I’m still trying to get over the fact that my name is being mentioned with freakin’ Brad Pitt! It’s a lot. My name is coming up alongside people that I have grown up watching and who I respect so deeply. That is incredible and unbelievable.

At the end of the day, at this point — before the film has opened — I’m just so excited that it is resonating. I’m so excited that the thing Steve set off to do is being received and received positively. I just wish for that to continue. If awards buzz is the way in which we get people to see it, then so be it!

For me personally, my reward has been being a part of this process. It’s a reward that just keeps giving. I wouldn’t trade it for the world

“Just arrived in Kisumu to burry my grand pa…him who was there for me when my dad past on…a sad day fir me family!! He passed o last week…may his soul rest in peace!!”
