You probably remember Hemedi Suleiman as the guy who had an awkward showdown with TPF judge Ian Mbugua. Instead of taking his moment in the sun to create a name for himself he resulted to name calling and made a fool of himself.

The artiste is currently shooting a movie by the name Tangled mess that will feature former BBA contestant Sulu Banda from Zambia. Have a look at behind the scene pictures of the film

Cannibal Speaks Up for the First Time After Only 3 People Attended His Dubai Show

Earlier in November, rapper Cannibal was in Dubai for a show he was so upbeat about before getting on that Dubai-plane. However, the script was different after touch-down as his show was probably the most botched show any artist could ever have.

In a nutshell, Cannibal’s show was attended by only, believe it or not, 3 guys! This news was met by mockery from Kenya’s tweetosphere that trolled the rapper with memes that are just out of this world. Back in Dubai, the promoter of the show, Has Waziri, was attacked by Cannibal’s friends and rival promoters and beaten senseless.

And now for the first time ever after the failed show, Cannibal has spoken about the show and the events that ensued pre and post his visit.

Speaking to Onfon Productions, Cannibal took shots at Waziri calling him “a con, a thief and a guy you don’t want to work with because everything he touches goes wrong”. He further alleges that even Kenyans in Dubai don’t like him (Waziri) to the extent of not attending the shows he organizers.

Regarding the ill-fated show, Cannibal complains that no marketing was done and that explains the almost negligible turnout. He also denies Waziri’s claim that he was detained at the Dubai International Airport for narcotics suspicion for more than five hours on the 8th Nov, 2013.

Here’s Cannibal;

Mututho Makes Complete Turnabout; Now Says You Don’t Need Permit to Throw a House Party

Last week Kenyans were jittery when ‘pint czar’, John Mututho, announced that you will need a permit to throw a bash in your house for your pals. Yesterday however, the NACADA boss made a complete turnaround saying that you no longer need a permit to guzzle booze with your friends at your place.

Mututho set the record straight stating that you don’t need to buy alcohol licenses if you are holding a party at home. Speaking to NTV, he asserted that those seeking to hold parties in their homes need not seek licenses.

The licenses only apply to those intending to sell alcohol in such gatherings, and outside of their licensed premises.

“All it says basically is that if you’re planning to home party and planning to sell alcohol, the word is sell…the magic word is sell. And you’re an outside caterer, you’re an individual or an organization, you need a temporary license,” clarified Mututho.

A temporary or occasional alcoholic drink licence per day costs 1000 bob. Here’s a copy of the permit.

You can now toast to that and go ahead throw the biggest bash this Christmas.

Chipukeezy Jets Back from Dubai Looking Like an Emirati (PHOTO)

They say when you go to Rome do what the Romans do and comedian and radio presenter seems to have learnt a lesson or two from that saying. Over the weekend he was in Dubai and the funny guy got proper schooling about the fancy Emirati dress.

Upon his return, Chipukeezy was donning the dishdash also referred to as dish-dasha or even gandoora, gandurah or even tawb or taub (long white robe) complete with a white keffiyeh (headscarf) held in place by an agal, the Emirati style.

Even Caroline Mutoko had to appreciate his style. Say hello to Chipukezy Hakim Hassan Abdul Muhammad;

Move Over Huddah Monroe’s ‘Funeral Selfie’. This Is The Most Controversial Selfie Ever! (Photos)

About a month ago, Oxford dictionaries declared selfie as this year’s word of the year and for a good reason, this word has attracted a great deal of attention during the year. So what exactly is a selfie?

According to Oxford dictionary a selfie is a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a Smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website

A few months ago Huddah’s selfie at a funeral  attracted a hostile response from social media and was the most controversial selfie in a while. Well last week it emerged that not only Huddah takes selfies at funerals but also Mr Obama himself. The president excitedly took a few selfies  with British prime minister David Cameron  and Denmark’s prime minister  at Nelson Mandela’s funeral much to the chagrin of Michelle Obama .

http://www.therightplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/obama-selfie.jpg

Michelle does not look too happy

http://www.trbimg.com/img-52a76c41/turbine/orl-obamaselfie-20131210/580/580x413

This selfie has been the hottest topic for a Week now,not only in Kenya but also world wide and everyone seems to have gotten their breeches in a bunch over this. The president has been called narcissistic and self-absorbed and a shame to the big old USA.Ouch!

Here are some of the  responses to the controversial selfie:

“The sign-language interpreter wasn’t the only fake at the Mandela funeral. Obama + Cameron were posing as world leaders.” Goodwin NY Post

The New York Post:

It’s official — the government of the United States of Obama consists of boobs and bores and is led by a narcissist. It is no consolation that Great Britain joins us in racing to the bottom.
President Obama’s flirting with Denmark’s prime minister would be shameful on any occasion. That it happened at the memorial for Nelson Mandela only adds to the embarrassment.
But the “selfie” episode also symbolizes the greater global calamity of Western decline. With British prime minister David Cameron playing the role of Obama’s giggling wingman, the “look at me” moment confirms we have unserious leaders in a dangerously serious time.

Americans Mock The Westgate Tragedy With Sharkeisha Meme (PHOTO)

Ruhila Adatia is just one of the victims of the tragic Westgate Terrorist Attack. She is however, how I can bring this topic up. And I must say that I am disgusted by what I saw on a page I follow called “Sharkeisha the type of ratchet…”

For those of you who do not know who Sharkeisha is, she is a girl (strictly speaking about gender here) who beat the *defecate* out of her schoolmate for reasons best known to the people who love worldstarhiphop.com -such as Baba Ghafla.

Anyway, Sharkeisha became an internet sensation with memes being created mocking the fight or her family and her name. It was all fun and games until I came across a certain meme and maybe I am being a bitter Betty but i see no humour in joking about the Westgate tragedy. You never hear Uncle Chim Tuna joke about school shootings in America.

I am not the only one pissed off about joke it seems:

NIGGA_STUPIDITY.jpg

And before someone spews vitriolic regurgitate about freedom of speech, please tell me why cracking jokes about Sandy Hook Elementary are a no-go zone?

Maina And King’ang’i In The Morning:In A Religious Country Such As Kenya Why Is Abortion One Of The Most Googled Topics?

Maina and King’ang’i in the morning is arguably one of the most listened to shows in Kenya especially in public service vehicles. Today the show was especially interesting as the topic was about the most searched for subjects  in Kenya. Apparently, the topics Kenyans search for are how to kiss, how to pray and how to abort!

Maina posed this questions to Kenyans:
“SHOCK! Do you believe in this research? …and have YOU searched for any of these three items? Is it true that Kenyans are actually using Google to search for how to Kiss? Is it true that Kenyans are searching for how to abort? I think it’s good we’re searching for how to pray, isn’t it?

Let’s talk. Do you believe in these findings? Have you or your friends ‘Googled’ how to kiss?

Some of your response were rather entertaining and I picked a few of the most attention-grabbing comments:

Leo Omwenga this is how it goes….a girl decides to learn how to Kiss, so she Googles how to kiss and when she learns it, one thing leads to another ends up sleeping with a guy. She feels guilty and had to consult the Almighty. She Googles how to pray. A month later she discovers she is pregnant. abortion is on her mind….so she Googles how to abort…….what a rotten society

Ash Wambugu Dear Google, Am i the only one who surfs SEX STYLES?

Joan Shee Kigwa Iyo ya ku kiss i av googled so many times.I loves kisses n i wonna be the bestiest (sic) kisser

Tune in to Classic 105 and engage in or listen to this interesting discussion.

Citizen TV’s Boss Loses His Once Powerful Dad

Royal Media Services Managing Director, Wachira Warruru, is in mourning. The ingenious CEO lost his father on Monday night at Tumu Tumu Mission Hospital.

Mr. Waruru Kanja, a former Minister and Nyeri Town Member of Parliament who served in both the late President Jomo Kenyatta and former President Daniel arap Moi’s governments, died after a battle with a long bout of illness.

The late Kanja was one of the most powerful politicians from Central Province in his heydays. He was a former freedom fighter and was jailed by the British colonial government for taking part in the Mau Mau rebellion and played a leading role in post-independence politics in Kenya.

His name will be remembered alongside other icons of Kenya’s struggle for independence.

May his soul rest in peace.

It seems these days, Nairobi Senator Gideo Mbuvi alias Sonko is in the news for his antics more than for his politics. And after Kenyans on Twitter lampooned Sonko over his failed photoshop stunt, he has hit out at his detractors.

Late last week, Sonko posted a message on his Facebook page in which he called out his “haters” and said that Madiba was always a champion of the people. He also went on to say that that was the biggest quality he attempts to adhere to from Madiba.

Having said that, he then said that the people who mocked him over his picture were the same ilk as the men who detained Mandela the late great pan-African leader for 27yrs. i do not think I am of the same ilk, do you?

Check Out This Awesome New Electro Track Check Video Here

Last year, Boneless had what I feel is the most underrated song of the year. His song “Kusunga” was simply phenomenal. i felt it should have been considered a game changer. However, we shall not cry over spilt milk or Kenyans and their love for simple melodies.

Uncle Chim Tuna will instead concentrate on the new amazing track. The song is called “Supasta” and is yet another example of how melodic a language Kamba is. The lad who used to be a rather agile, nimble and flexible dancer but he left his dancing shoes for a microphone.

But I cannot do the song justice merely by talking about it. Have a listen to the track and let me know what you think:

Sarabi Band Featuring Juliani Launch The Song ‘FUATA SHERIA’ To Commemorate Kenya At 50

‘There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice. But there must never be a time when we fail to PROTEST’. Elie Weisel

The Sarabi Band and Juliani are releasing a song, ‘Fuata Sheria’, on 11th of December, the eve of Jamhuri day. Fuata Sheria is about the state of Kenya’s politics and of the failure of Kenya’s citizens to take responsibility for their contribution to the corrupt status quo.

The song is a call on Kenyans to retrospect and judge, not just the political leaders, but to judge themselves as well, and to ‘fuata sheria’ , to respect the rule of law.

The song was written after Boniface Mwangi shared a list of the scandals in Kenya’s politics from the last 50 years with George Nderitu, the Sarabi Band Manager. They discovered that one consistent thing on that list of scandals was a Government- appointed commission of inquiry.

Together they invited Juliani to collaborate on a song.

The song looks back at the maize scandal, the missing free primary education money, the Kazi kwa Vijana scandal and many others.

But the song also blames the mwananchi for accepting bribes and bribing when it is convenient to do so.

In his signature voice, towards the end of the song, Juliani says that the tears of the perpetrators has drowned the blood of the victims, in reference to the post election violence. He also mocks the commission of enquiries formed over the years by saying that they take the commission but do not tell the truth.

Finally, in regard to Westgate and in a unity call, Juliani says, ‘ You are not my tribe, but you are my blood type. But it doesn’t have to take a tragedy to know that’.

The song will be released on the eve of  Jamhuri day, 11 December.

Please use the link below for behind the scenes of images of the Fuata Sheria video.

Top Actress Attacks Mututho Over His No Party Law. Accuses Him Of Infringing On Kenyans’ Bill Of Rights

The Mututho Law has left Kenyans across the divide infuriated. How a politician who was rejected humiliatingly by his electorate in Naivasha. How the man could come up with such a Draconian law is beyond me and I do not seem to be the only Kenyan worried about this law.

And top actress Lizz Njagah has also shared her concern about the same and this is what she had to say:

We are now a military state.. You have been warned. This is even pre colonial days. Moi Era was better than this.. Oh and it also costs 5000/= to plant a tree
Haiya, and all this time I though Mututho was joking! Ati we can’t discuss politics during house parties? We can’t have a live band or disco?

Jeez, I need a drink!

B.O.G.O.F for “50% Kenyan” Four Final Shows

An early Chrismas gift.

The homestretch for the hit comedy “50% Kenyan” is here. Today marks the start of the last four shows which start today Tuesday and ends this Friday, 20th December.

Tuesday also is when Heartsttrings Entertainment gives its loyal patrons with an offer where they buy one ticket and get another one free.

Magic number is: 0722/0737 745541

This must be the only show that managed to give the true spirit of the season and draw crowds as it asked the right questions while celebrating Kenya@50.

A two week run of the already hit original comedy by Heartstrings Entertainment under the masterly eye of Sammy Mwangi, the show saw crowds milling in to find out if they are half Kenyans or full non-Kenyans. The greatest question was, if Kenya was an employer and Kenyans were to reapply to continue being citizens, would Kenya employ you?

Wahu Talks About Her Latest Hit Song

Nearly a month ago, popular Kenyan singer Wahu released her new single, One Touch, which was part of her role as a diabetes awareness ambassador for Project Embrace – an initiative targeting to reach 5 million families by 2018 with their diabetes awareness and management campaign.

The song has been downloaded over 2000 times on the Project Embrace website and has over 1500 listens on various online media including Soundcloud and YouTube.

An interview was conducted  with Wahu to get a feel of her motivation behind the song and the message she hopes to pass across to her audience

Q) How does it feel to be the ambassador for such a noble cause?
This is a cause that I’m passionate about so I’m honored and humbled.

Q) How has the Diabetes problem and the increasing number of diabetes patients impacted you as a person?

On a Personal note, diabetes has claimed my grandmother, and my aunty. My mum has had the condition for over 20 years now, and it has been hard to watch her lose most of her eyesight to it. Luckily, we were able to arrest the deterioration of her sight in time with the use of diet, exercise and proper medical attention. Unfortunately, many Kenyans do not have the information required to live meaningful and fruitful lives despite the condition. This is very sad especially because living a happy positive life with the condition need not be a costly, heart wrenching affair.

Q) How has the song been received so far? Do you feel excited by it?
I’m happy with the reception and really excited about it too! We are yet to shoot a music video for it in 2014, so watch this space!

Q) How much of a difference do you expect to make through the song?
The song talks about hope and positivity despite the condition. I do expect it to reach out to millions of people across the continent, and for it to change the perception that people have of diabetes. This is not a life sentense. One can still live a long productive happy life with the condition. That’s the message we want to spread, and im confident we shall be successful.

Q) Can we expect more from where that came from to help push Project Embrace to bigger heights?
Oh for sure! There’s lots we have planned so you better watch out!

Q) What message do you have for Kenyans in regards to the Diabetes problem and how to tackle it as a country?
Living a happy positive life is indeed possible with diabetes! It is not a life sentence. All you have to do is embrace the 4C’s: Care for yourself, Consume healthy, Check your blood sugar regularly and Control your blood sugar levels. I’m calling on all my brothers and sisters out there to help us spread this message of hope. Together we can do anything.

Lupita Beats Oprah Winfrey for a Top Movie Award

In many ways a successful and familiar character actor in sound films is measured by the number of awards they win. With that said, we can safely say that Lupita Nyong’o is a successful actress. Just a couple of days after scooping an award and getting nominated for another, the Kenyan Hollywood screen goddess is back with yet another win.

Last Sunday, Lupita won another film critics’ award maintaining her impressive dominance in the supporting rank. The Houston Film Critics Society (HFCS) named her the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her role in 12 Years a Slave.

Lupita beat the likes of TV show host queen, Oprah Winfrey (Lee Daniels’ The Butler), Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle), Octavia Spencer (Fruitvale Station) and June Squibb (Nebraska) for the award.

Founded in 2007, the Houston Film Critics Society helps to organize and coordinate the local area film critics community by increasing public awareness and appreciation for cinematic excellence and recognizing extraordinary accomplishment in film through the selection of annual recipients of Houston Film Critics Awards and publicizing of those awards.

The awards will be presented by the HFCS at the Museum of Fine Arts-Houston on January 4, 2014 starting at 4PM.

Congratulations are in order!

Papa Shirandula’s Wilbroda Blasts Popular Comedian for Snubbing Her in Public

All around the world, fans wait in public areas just to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrity. It’s always heart-warming to hear stories about a star who is “down-to-earth” and, despite their fame, able to relate to everyday people. Unfortunately, for every one of those feel-good stories, there are some cringe-worthy tales.

There are some famous people who are so full of themselves to the extent of letting their snubby behavior play out to people close to them.

So recently, Papa Shiradula’s Wilbroda was hanging out when a famous comedian she refused to name walked in and completely declined to join her despite inviting them to her table.

“I happened to bump into a popular comedian friend of mine the other day in a club.He came and said hi very hastily then went and sat at a dark corner not far away from us yet there wss space on our table. He had a bouncer next to him and nobody could get close.

His reason for this was because he did not want the ‘public’ to disturb him.It just got me thinking the public that you now run away from made you who you are! And if you don’t want public disturbance then open a club in your own house!!!”

So rude, so crude, so unnecessary…

Extreme Celebrity Makeover: Lillian Muli before All the Glam & Finesse

Celebrity style is an aspect of the job of being famous that the beautiful on TV work terribly hard to attain and maintain. One living proof is Citizen TV’s screen siren, Lillian Muli. You adore her on your screens. She dazzles you with her flair that leaves many in awe.

However, back when she started her TV career at KTN, she was very girl next door; her style was less couture. But it didn’t take long for the TV girl to become a screen-siren; she’s growing up and blossomed in front of the camera.

To see how far Lillian Muli has come, you have to see where she came from and the extremes the image below represents.

Celebrities React To The New Mututho Permit You Have to Obtain to Throw a House Party

The ultimate party-pooper is back and back with a bang! Mututho did not waste any time after being reinstated as NACADA boss and made it unlawful to throw a party at home without a license that will cost 1000.

I thought that the license was just a myth until it trended online.

The license reads in part:

The gathering permit read

Law and order must be maintained through out

There should be no political discussions during the occasions

This permit doesn’t allow sell of beer or liquor

There should be no live band or disco

This permit should be produced to a police officer on demand

You must adhere to time and place indicated above

This document caused a huge outcry from the public and  Kenyan Celebrities gave their two cents on the said document.

Wallace Kantai ‏@wgkantai Mr. Mututho, if I discuss the pothole outside my house and the need for the County government to fix it, is that a ‘political discussion’?

Tedd Josiah So what should we make of this license to have fun? Since when was my fun ur biz?
And now I can’t talk about politics without the governments permission?
Hold on a minute….
This mans name means freedom.
This doesn’t feel very freeing to me.
Someone tell me this isn’t true and this isn’t happening…..

Terryanne Chebet ‏@TerryanneChebet I’m sure Mututho has the right intentions. Either that or he is in the taxi business. Either way don’t drink and drive.

Here’s a Copy of the Permit You Have to Obtain to Throw a House Party as Ordered by Mututho (PHOTO)

Last week, new NACADA boss and ‘booze czar’, John Mututho, cracked the whip and put a dampener on the festive season when he declares that homeowners will need a permit before serving drinks to friends and family, all in a bid to “curb underage drinking”.

And just like that, the decree is in full force.

The directive requires everyone to get a Sh1,000 permit from the police before they host drinks parties at their homes or anywhere else. What’s more, drinking at private parties is supposed to end by 11 PM.

Below is a sample permit you’ll be required to have this Christmas if you’re planning to invite your friends over;

It’s serious like that now…

Meet “Mother in-Law” Celina’s Son (PHOTO)

Celina, the lass behind the “Harpic” ad is one of the most shapely and comely lasses i have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She has curves that would make even Vera Sidika insecure for a minute. But what I didn’t know and I am pretty sure alot of Kenyans also did not know is the fact that she is a mother.

And I got my mitts on a picture of the lass’ son and I must say, he is a big boy, no longer a bundle of joy but no less her pride and joy and I figure this is of public interest so here is a picture of the demure dude down below:

Listen To Willy Paul’s Reaction After Gospel DJs & Presenters Vow Never to Play His New ‘Blasphemous’ Song

Willy Paul received severe backlash for his latest jam Missi especially from the gospel fraternity who felt that the song was not Gospel enough and that it was blasphemous.

The controversy in the song, “Missi” surfaces when Willy Paul compares God to a baby, a lady and even a hooligan!
The controversial lyrics read, “Ungekua kabinti ningecheza love song, huku na kule ningekufuata wewe…ungekua mtoto ningekutoa nappy, kila siku kubali ma-pampers…ungekua jambazi ungenitenda, singe complain.”

Due to the heat that the song caused, the lad has decided to bow down to  the pressure and redo the entire first verse as well as shoot a complete new video after it emerged that the first video was supposedly shot in a bar. The video will be unveiled at Willy M Tuva’s “Wakilisha East Africa” at Tribeka but you can hear the new and improved song here.
