Risper Faith has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons of late and it would seem that the rough times are not about to end. Last week she was beating up Calif Records artist Ala-C and now she is being accused of theft.

As my friend Kone would say, SMDH! (shaking my damn head). I have no idea why people would get involved in such ratchet fiascoes given that there is really no need.
Anyway, word reached us last week that alleged that the young lass was clubbing at Skyluxx in the company of friends when one of the revelers at the club lost a phone.

This reads alot worse than the Pendo story because it is alleged that when the phone was noticed to be missing, a small search was conducted to no avail. But the phone owners took the matter to the police and they traced the phone only to allegedly find it on being used by Risper faith. She then took to instagram and posted this picture:

When she was discovered, she allegedly took to instagram to defend herself. She eventually gave back the phone.

I reached out to Risper for a comment and this is what she had to say:

“I would like to dispel any circulating rumours about a stolen phone being linked to me. Some phone was stolen on a night out and someone is victimizing me.
Please stop tarnishing my name with baseless allegations.“

What say you?

Why is it Kenyan celebrities are always quick to complain about paparazzi and tabloid scrutiny at their lives? That is something I have personally never understood. And it frustrates me to no ends to see people whom Kenyans consider celebrities get on social media to belly ache about being exposed or about having something they had posted on either Instagram, Facebook or Twitter used. Oh the humanity of it! The horror!

The Thing Kenyan celebrities seem to forget is that because they are in the limelight, there is a genuine interest from the adoring public to find out how they are living, what they had for supper or whom the are (allegedly) sleeping with.

To top it off these belly aching, butt hurt celebrities are rather disingenuous about the entire picture and that is very exasperating for a celebrity rag writer such as myself. And the reason is simple, you bait us then cry wolf like the silly little shepherd and when I give you and your “brand” a wide berth, you want to act shocked. Let’s take a look at what I am saying:

For those who want to act like “proper” protective parents; if you do not want pictures of your child used, keep them off social media or post them under the “private” privacy setting. That is as far as you can control that. It’s just that simple. That is why you never hear Wahu and Nameless complain about their children’s photos being made public. They know where I keep posting the Facebook terms and conditions and you all keep acting shocked. Let me do so again so that you do not waste your time and money sending your lawyers here with no basis:

For those of you who post pictures of controlled substances then call me up for a take down when I catch wind of said picture and post it, just don’t. Don’t be that stupid. Then the worst thing is that such people then go on social media to belly ache and gripe about such none issues. EXCERCISE BETTER JUDGEMENT YOU FOOL!

For those of you who get caught up in scandals and then catch major feeling when I cover the scandals and put them in the public domain, Uncle Chim Tuna hapana tambua ma feelings! Just get your P.R game up. Find a way to do damage control. A method that doesn’t involve me or Baba Ghafla -I have a special spite for people who think running to the boss compels me to act a certain way.
Or better yet, keep your mess private and between the 4 walls that are the confines of your home.

Are you getting what I am saying? Be like George Clooney. Study the Wayans. None of these people get caught up unless it benefits them. They only ever pop up when it matters to them and their careers. Showbiz is literally “The Business Of Showing Off” so be professional.

It seems it’s not just Lupita who is making heads turn with her sense of fashion and style. Masahriki Mix’s Sarah Hassan seems to be taking fashion a lot more seriously. She chose a colour I do not consider traditional -then again, being male, I am very conservative about the types of colours I wear.

While on the set of Mashariki Mix, the former Tahidi High actress stepped out and turned heads with this sleeveless, empire line maxi dress -or so I am reliably told it’s called by our resident fashionista Sue Watiri.

What I can say is that when your lass steps out looking like this, you know you need to step up your couture speak as a man. Then again, when your lass looks good, you look good!

With all the controversy circulating round Churchill Show after a popular entertainment pullout wrote up an expose about the alleged rot going on behind the scenes, alot of stories have spun off with both sides of the argument being well represented.

Some people have come to Uncle Chim Tuna to personally agree with the story which I am impressed Pulse beat me to seeing as they rarely if ever beat me to any punch. Others have reached out to rubbish the accusations claiming those who are disgruntled are greedy and do not see the Churchill Show for the function it was primarily created for: giving comedians a platform to kickstart their careers.

Chipukeezy and I recently met up and I asked him about the allegations. He was rather refreshingly frank given how coy and unprofessional most celebrities are. I was impressed that he understood that a “no comment” response would do more damage especially given that his absence from the show has raised eyebrows.

What he told me was, “Chipukeezy is and will remain to be part of Churchill Show. That is my home, that’s where I was born.

I respect Churchill sana, he is my big brother. He is a blessing to me. I would never walk away in such an immature manner.

I know that a time will come for me to be on my own but I feel it’s still too early. Even when that time arrives, I will still need him in my corner.

Churchill is a great guy land he has changed alot of lives. The comedians going round bad mouthing him him shout eat some quail eggs. Anyway, the reason I was absent is because I was on a break but I will be back bigger and better!”

Comedian Eric Omondi is fast becoming a drag queen and he’s not ashamed of doing. While others are doing it behind closed doors or onscreen for a role, Eric Omondi does it proudly and publicly.

Distinguished TV Station, Citizen Kenya was feted as the best media station in the country in terms of Motorsport coverage.

This is the 2^nd time that that the media house has received this award.

The feted TV station has previously won numerous  awards for its sports coverage. At the second edition of Kenya Rugby Elliptic Awards, they ruled the night by scooping two prestigious awards.One being the best visual media in Rugby and Citizen TV’s sports anchor Bernard Ndong scooped the  TV journalist of the year award.

With her fierce style and massive talent in her breakout movie, 12 Years A Slave, actress Lupita Amondi Nyong’o has become the film-industry conqueror. However, there’s always an uproar and disquiet whenever her nationality crops up.

Her bio reads, “Nyong’o was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents (Dorothy and Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o)”. And this is where the bone of contention lies. There are two groups that each wants to substantiate their argument about Lupita’s nationality.

One argues that Lupita is Mexican by birth and so she’s a Mexican national. However, most Kenyans argue that Lupita is Kenyan by blood considering both her parents are Kenyan. And as it is, this argument seems to go on and on.

Now, barely a week after famed writer, Ken Binyavanga Wainaina, came out, yet another celeb has come out of the closet. Up and coming socialite and video vixen, Angel Maggy, has come out as gay and has a girlfriend.

The one time ‘Tujuane’ chic revealed her sexuality in an exclusive statement to Ghafla! that she’s out and proud —well, sort of.

She clearly has several reasons to come out besides just living honestly. A proud Angel wrote, “Mmmmh…If a man can’t afford to take care of me, then my girl can do it better.” Adding, “In fact napelekwa Zanzibar honeymoon.”

Angel went on to reveal more details of her partner saying, “She’s called Fancy…Fancy Samantha and lives in the UK.”

Dennis Okari has established himself as the King of Investigative Journalism thanks to his Seeds of Sin expose and his latest investigative piece, Terrorists Playground.

He planted mysterious bags at jobless corner, CID headquarters, Kenyatta National Hospital among others but all went unnoticed. We were shown how the public and law enforcers lack vigilance when it comes to terrorism. This expose shook a lot of people to the core due to the fact that most of us are completely oblivious of such suspicious items .

The Tujuane crew have confirmed to us that Tujuane will be moving to NTV, at the same time on Tuesday evenings at 8pm.

The new season of Tujuane ignited a bidding war between KTN, NTV and K24, for which NTV won the rights not only because they bid the highest budget, but also because they offered similar audience numbers to KTN, unlike K24, which would have been a bit of a step down audience wise.

NTV now have the rights to 3 of Kenya’s top shows: Churchill Show, Baileys Weddings Show and now Tujuane, making for a compelling primetime viewing package.

Controversial blogger and cyber-activist, Robert Alai, is hated and loved in equal measure thanks to what he posts on social media. Alai’s whose social social media footprint is huge last night lashed out at a renowned KTN reporter following a story he did.

According to Alai, Fred Omulo is “one cheap mouth piece for hire.” Alai’s issue with Omulo emerged after the latter reported that Kisumu businessmen lost property to looters after the hotly contested March 2013 elections.

“KTN’s Fred Omulo with stupid propaganda. Ati businessmen who lost property. Some layabouts fronted as businessmen. Which property did they lose? This Omulo thing is turning into one cheap mouth piece for hire,” declared Omulo.

However, the Kisumu-based reporter did not take it light down as he returned salvos informing him that he won’t do his job to please him (Alai).

Omulo declared, “Alai, you still haven’t explained why you were insulting Peter Ochieng’ in your expletive filled post. I REPEAT, IT WAS NOT AN ANTI-RAILA DEMO! And if me reporting that makes you feel very bad and sad, you need to know i wont do my job to please you … If you have something personal against the man please don’t drag the whole country into your personal challenges!”

Today it seems I am on that vera Sidika tip. If you aren’t curious however, you wouldn’t be reading this now would you? And sine you are, i think we should cut the pretense and get into the heart of the matter.

And with all the speculation going on about how Vera made her money, one thing I can say is that she without a doubt spent it well. I have caught a glimpse of the lass’ house and I want to show you what I saw.

What is off isn’t that the crook is encouraging people to break the law but that they have decided to use the first family to do so. i have no idea who this crook is but to be honest, it is actually a very good ruse:

People will be too scared to question the source or point out that the page is encouraging people to break the law. Let’s face it, Kenya is a country where the Emperor never gets questioned about his clothes.

Has Vera Been Allegedly Having An Affair With Former Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi? I have heard that questioned posed to me so many times I would be a millionaire if I got paid everytime I had to answer. “I swear this question got me feelin some type of way” or maybe that’s just the music playing in my ipod.

But back to the matter at hand. It has been alleged that she is sleeping with Musalia Mudavadi and Vera has finally had enough of the rumours and is coming out with a response. And you could just tell from the response that she isn’t too happy.

According to the rumours her newly acquired status and wealth was down to the politician’s goodwill but that from what I have said several times before was hearsay. When my colleague Vince spoke to her she explained that she is in business and has been rearing livestock.

Anyway, this is what she told Cate Mukei:

“That is ridiculous. I have never met him (Mudavadi) in person. The closest I have come to him was just studying at a school named after his deceased father Moses Mudavadi. No one has ever bought me a car. I have said this over and over that I’m a businesswoman and everything I own is through my hard work. It has been a journey. I was once a lingerie model for Nairobi Secrets website. I also did runway modelling and saved the money.”

When Mudavadi’s aide-de-camp, Kibisu Kabatesi, was reached for a statement, this is what he told the Nairobian:

“We don’t know anyone who goes by that name and if she was hired to run the social media pages, I would have known.”

So there you have it!

If you grew up watching the 5 bob movies at ‘wannabe’ movie cinemas in the hood, then you’re definitely familiar with DJ Afro Amingos AKA Kimonda. This guy is a celeb in his own way but I highly doubt ‘trust-fund’ kids have heard about this top-ranking movie commentator who gives movies done in English some funny sheng/Kikuyu touch.

However, in his entire trade DJ Afro has remained a huge mystery to many of his ardent fans with only the very closest guys knowing him in person. His Kikuyu and Sheng-translated movies are a huge hit in downtown Nairobi and if you’re having a bad day you should probably grab a copy of his ‘production’.

After many years of mystery, King of Comedy, Churchill finally unveiled DJ Afro to the public last evening at the live recording of Churchill Show at The Carnivore. Say hello to DJ Afro;
