Risper Faith Beats Calif Records Star! We have The Shocking Photos Of The Fight (PHOTO EVIDENCE)

Violence against women and girls is a gross human rights violation that shouldn’t condoned. However, in this story I wonder whether it can count as violence against women.

It all started as a rosy affair after Calif Records’ top flying artist, Ala-C, called up voluptuous video vixen, Risper Faith, asking her to appear in his upcoming video, “Kula Na Macho” with the promise of a handsome payment. However, the events that were to follow in the next few days turned out to be thorny.

According to the bootyful vixen, Ala-C has been dodging her after she demanded for her payment. A bitter Risper adds that the genge artist has not been answering her calls nor responding to her mails much to her displeasure.

Seeing as she would be fleeced for her effort in the video, Risper and her sidekick, Sheila Husna, put one foot ahead of the other and headed to Calif Records. Upon arrival, they demanded to see the ‘Walking Class’ hit-maker. So, he stepped out of the studio to meet his ‘guests’.

However, things were not so diplomatic as Risper demanded to know why Ala-C had not kept his end of the bargain. When she demanded for her money that’s when things started heading south. With Ala-C even threatening not to pay the two girls, matters went from normal to bizarre in seconds.

Risper and Sheila put aside diplomacy and wore their ratchet hats and started roughing up Ala-C with the hope that he’ll cough up the remaining Ksh30,000 of the agreed Ksh50,000 as he’d already given the two a down-payment of Ksh20,000.

It’s at this point that things got ugly as the three now got physical.

Speaking to Ala-C, he alleges that two ambushed him in studio in uproar disturbing peace in the usually quiet neighbourhood. However, in his defence, Ala-C doesn’t deny that there was violence but says all he did was in self defence after two started poking him with keys on the nose and head.

“Me sikutry kuwachapa, in fact wao ndo walikuja na issues. Me nilitry kujidefend tu.”

He adds that Risper and Sheila were too nagging and impatient to wait for the agreed date of payment (Monday 27th) like the rest of the other 10 girls in the video as he had promised them their cash before the release of the video.

In his revelation he reveals something interesting;

“Ao walikua tu na zao ju Sheila nilitry kumkatia, Risper pia nilitry kumkatia; nilitry kukatia wote wawili na ni mabeshte…”

Ala-C further adds that there’s no way he could have assaulted the two in full view of the public considering there are people who look up to him.

A passerby managed to catch the part of the action on camera;

Photo of the Day: Citizen TV’s ‘Machachari’ Star Celebrates Birthday

When stars celebrate their birthdays, it’s always a pompous affair and chock-full of other celebrities. However, for ‘Machachari’ actress, Millie, her 4th birthday was a low-key affair celebrated at her school with classmates.

Check out Millie posing before her cake at her surprise birthday;

Millie is Baha and Govi’s baby sister whose performance in the Citizen TV show is exceptional.

Meet the First Kenyan To Join Twitter (PHOTO)

Created in March 2006, online social networking and microblogging service, Twitter, is one of the ten most-visited websites, and has even been described as “the SMS of the Internet.” In fact, according to a study conducted in the US in October 2013, Twitter has overtaken Facebook as the most popular social network.

Locally, Kenyans haven’t been left behind. Popularly known as KOT (Kenyans on Twitter), they are the second most active on Twitter in Africa after South Africans according to Portland Communications and Tweetminster research. Do I need to justify why KOT always win tweefs against other countries?

Anyhow, have you ever asked yourself who was the first Kenyan to join Twitter? Well, wonder no more, we’ve unearthed the tweep who created the first Twitter account in Kenya, thanks to followerwonk.

Ladies and gentlemen, give it up to Tirus Gathere Njuguna (@tirusnjuguna)

 Tirus_Gathere_Njuguna.jpg

Tirus Njuguna

Tirus joined Twitter on 10 April 2007, more than a year after Twitter’s creation, thereafter, he next tweeted a whole year later on 6 April 2008!

Despite being the first on Twitter in Kenya, the blogger is surprisingly not a ‘bigwig’ as he commands a paltry 114 guys and following another 79.

Tirus runs bluef15h creel, whose ‘about’ reads “This blog is mean’t to be a digital archive or journal of my mental thoughts, sightings, inspiration, work and what is happening around kenya.. As time passes on, it will also become a host for my travelling journal.. so happy reading..”

Despite being the first KOT, Tirus isn’t active as he last tweeted in November 2013.

Now you know…

Heartstrings Entertainment Brings You “Husband For Breakfast”

Heartstrings Entertainment opens this year with a hilarious comedy

“Husband For Breakfast” is an unbelievably 3-hander hilarious comedy which brings together well-rated and respected stars. Two stars of the much acclaimed movie Nairobi Half Life Anthony Ndung’u and Olwenya are back again sandwiching the fast ever-rising female actress Aimee Ongeso who was a host on CHANNEL O.

The top theatre guru Sammy Mwangi will be taking this star-studded cast of three through what has already been touted and fanatically described as the comedy of 2014 that will re-define comedy as we know it.

Synopsis

This rib-shattering comedy puts philanderers on notice. It will show that beauty is not in the eyes of the beholder and that beauty can only take someone to one place only, nowhere. A thief storms a house to find an extremely beautiful woman (a self-acclaimed socialite) and what follows is the battle between beauty and brains. For the first time beauty and brains will coexist. The question is who will be the custodian of both, the burglar or the socialite. Hilariously, the audience will be treated to uncontrollable levels of laughter when in comes her husband: a self-proclaimed but failed socialite. This is anon-miss!

At only Ksh. 500, come watch this comedy from 28th Jan to 2nd Feb at Alliance Francaise. Timings are 6:30pm on weekdays and 3&6:30 pm on weekends.

Kelele Takatifu Release Yet Another Gospel Tune (VIDEO)

Whenever you see that a song has been posted by Kelele Takatifu, you know you’re in for a treat. The group which makes music that suits their quirky nature know how to infuse humour into gospel and still pass messages on -something I admire. And especially in a world where people turn to gospel on a whim and then return to drinking alcohol and posing suggestively with lasses.

And this time, the group are back with yet another hilarious one titled “Didimia” which basically means decrease in Swahili.

The song’s instrumentals are something I thought would be ill suited for their sound but they managed to shift paradigms so to speak and still own the song. The rappers who prefer to tell stories and jokes in their lyrics while still passing a message went to Teddy B for a “Kapungala type of instrumental.

The video was shot by J. Blessings and it is an array of colours and dances. Check the video out below:

Okari reveals a sleeping security system and a public that has long moved on and is no longer vigilant 3 months after the Westgate Mall attack. Okari says, “I set out to test the country’s awareness and awareness I did not find. I Planted mysterious bags at the airport, supermarkets, hospitals and even a police station. All went unnoticed.”

Be sure to join Okari on Sunday at 9pm as he takes you through a shocking security breach across the country in the face of new Al Shabaab terror threats in 5 major places and other secondary targets in an expose he calls, “A Terrorists Playground”.

Eric Omondi No Longer On Churchill Show. Find Out Why Here

Eric Omondi is indubitably the most prolific of comedians that has sprung up thanks to Churchill’s tutelage.
But he hasn’t been on and that has raised some questions especially from people who have been reading about alleged crises at the show.

But lad finally broke his silence and explained that he is just fatigued. He is worn out what with his hectic schedule. But that doesn’t mean that there is any issue with Churchill Show. He will actually be back on the show from March or thereabouts.

Burn-out is actually a very common phenomenon that affects everyone playing their game at such elevated levels. It’s not really common for Kenyan politicians but for athletes and entertainers it happens.

When the comedian was asked about what was going on, this was his response:

“I will be coming back in March or thereabout. You cannot crack jokes all year round, you need a little break.”

Ogopa’s Flamboyant Artist Imports a Fantastically Cool Sports Car (PHOTO)

Ogopa DJs’ Baby One is famous, like a few other celebs, for his extravagant lifestyle. This often includes dropping a ton of money on a car – sometimes more for the status of it than for the car itself. That probably played a part in Baby One’s decision to purchase a Smart Roadster Coupe Brabus for more than $15000 (minus customs duties, taxes, brokerage and other fees)

But it wasn’t just the cost that attracted Baby One to the car – the car has great looks plus provides masses of feel-good factor with 101bhp engine under the bonnet.

Baby One says the car is on high seas and is will be in town in a week’s time.

This sports car is the latest addition to the fleet of high-end rides owned by the Ogopa rapper.

Mzazi Willy M. Tuva’s Giving You An Opportunity To Get Upclose And Personal With Diamond

Diamond is by far the biggest star in East Africa. His reach goes well beyond Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda and well into the greater East African region. And his decision to collaborate with Davido was the stuff of dreams! It was quite simply an inspired decision that will open up a new frontier for him.

Whether or not he is the most gifted vocalist in the region is debatable (tastes and all that) but one thing that is immediately clear is that he is by far the most astute as he has hired people who know how to market him.

Well, the lad is in the country and it would be a waste of a visit if he didn’t sit down with Mzazi Willy M. Tuva. Tuva seems to know exactly what you want though; to get to know more about the star and he is going to oblige. Watch Mseto east Africa today and find out more than you ever will anywhere else about Diamond.

Jaguar Enjoying Continental Success As Trace TV Debuts “Kioo” (PHOTO)

Jaguar recently released a single titled “Kioo” that was released along with it’s video to quite the reception. It was an instant hit proving to all and sundry that Jaguar is indeed one of the indubitable kings of the Kenyan entertainment industry. His influence is redoubtable and when we carried out a poll to find out whether Kenyans were feeling the song more thamn “Number One/Skelewu” mash-up done by Diamond and Davido, it was a win for Jaguar.

Well, it would seem that even the video which was shot by Kenya’s own Enos Olik is has met the rigorous standards test carried out by Trace TV and the video has begun enjoying some rotation on the music channel.

That is a very good look seeing as most Kenyan songs more often than not fall short of the standards demanded by continental and international music channels.

The video which features cameos from the gorgeous Amina Amaru and controversial Pendo has Jaguar meeting the allegations that he makes his money from dealing drugs head-on and even had him play a prisoner at one of Kenya’s most infamous prisons.

You can check the video out below but first check out the picture of the video “Kioo” being played by Treace TV:

Ringtone Nearly Run Over By Speeding Car While Shooting His Video (VIDEO)

Ringtone was recently shooting his brand new video which reportedly cost about half a million shilling but all was not well on set as the video shoot was momentarily interrupted by a speeding motorist who nearly ran the lad over.

The video is for his yet to be released track titled “Muziki Ni Dawa” but nearly lost his life when an errant driver speed into the scene and nearly ended the gospel artist’s life. The best part is that the entire incident was caught on tape and you can watch it below:

Obinna Builds His Father A House (PHOTO)

Obinna was recently in the headlines for all the wrong reason -a lass claimed that he had sired a child with her and had then left her. Sad. But he is finally back for all the right reasons. And that reason is that he is doing what is right by his parents.

Obinna has decided that he will give back to his parents by building a home for them in Maseno. Check Out Tedd Josiah When He Was Just A Baby (PHOTO)

I came across a photo of Tedd Josiah from eons ago, back when Methusellah was a young lad. And you can only imagine my shock when I found out that he was actually a baby. Who knew that the man behind some of Kenya’s most iconic Kenyan songs was once a baby being taught how to snap his fingers?

And when I came across the picture I was perplexed. That generally tends to happen when you have evidence that contradicts everything you knew. I never had thought of the man as a little baby. My mind has been blown! Check out this Earth shattering photo below:

GHAFLA POLL RESULT: Should More Celebrities Come Out Of The Closet?

Yesterday I sought to find out whether Kenyans really want more celebrities to come out as being gay and it would seem that they do. That actually left me shocked as I had always assumed that Kenyans wouldn’t be as welcoming. They would want their celebrities to live in cocoons all their lives.

Maybe people would just like to stare or maybe they would like the celebrities to be free to be who they are. Whatever the case, the votes were unanimous with people voting for more celebrities to come out of the closet. Wonder whether my colleagues of Ghafla will disappoint.

Anyway, this is how people voted:

One Of Royal Media’s Accomplished Presenters Ventures Into Music

Kevin Nyakundi Ombwori a.k.a Kay B is a top news presenter and a host of a top rated youth show dubbed “Ragga Kuruka” on Royal Media Services’ Ekegusii radio station-Egesa fm.

Kevin is an accomplished Swahili poet going by the poetic name ‘Msanii Mafichoni’ since high school. His poems have been featuring in Taifa Leo since 2006.

He began to turn his poems into songs while in his first year in campus in late 2007 and recorded his first single in November 2007 in Kakamega. Due to poor production quality and lack of funds that saw his music career hit rock bottom, he then took a break from music.

He has gone back into music with his first single ‘Binti Bikira’ that will be released officially on 3rd February 2014.
He’s currently shooting a video that he believes will shake the Kenyan music industry with a taste that has never been seen before.

He says, “I don’t want to brag so much or hype this song as some artistes have been doing only to realize after the song is out, that there wasn’t anything worth the hype. I want my fans to judge for themselves once the song is out complete with a video. I have done my research well and realized the void in Kenyan music: lack of songs
with conscious messages and videos that tell a story ”

He adds, “I have a strong conviction that this will be among the biggest songs in 2014. I have taken my time in studio, given out the song to seasoned producers, djs and radio presenters for approval of lyrical prowess and production quality and it has received massive support.”

“Only 24 Alcoholic Beverages Have Passed Government Safety Tests” Honourable John Mututho Says

The answer is none.

I’m joking but the real answer is still as scary. I was going over some newsfeeds I received from a leading media house’s digital branch and found that the writer was concentrating on garbage information about Mututho flossing his car. leave such garbage to upstart bloggers.

Let me tell you that the real news was embedded so deep withing the release that I had to scour over it with a fine tooth comb after gagging on the useless post about Mututho’s car.

In passing, it was mentioned that Kenya is indeed a party haven! People love their drink and they don’t do it small when it comes to having fun. There are well over 500 alcoholic brands in Kenya that the government are aware of.

But according to Honourable John Mututho, of the 500 alcoholic brands that are in existence, only 24 have passed government safety tests. Now please look at what is in your cup. Carefully. And have another.

No, I am joking. Ghafla is working at getting the full list of the drinks that passed safety tests.

TOO FUNNY: Kaytrixx Fires Shots At ManU Fans (PHOTOS)

Man Useless is just the gift that keeps giving! 3 points to everyone! I can only wish that my beloved Kop meet them while they are still on this charitable tip. The team has been playing like garbage and Kaytrixx is one of the people happy to take shots at the garbage team.

Remember when Miley Cyrus was busy swinging naked on wrecking balls naked? Well, what happens when Kaytrixx decides to troll Man U borrows on that but is way more funnier. Check it out below:

Citizen’s Radio Producer Selflessly Defends Mzazi Willy Tuva And Other Bigwigs Accused Of Demanding Sex & Money For Airplay

Yesterday an upcoming artiste by the name Blaqy took a shot at the musical bigwigs accusing them of demanding Sex & Money from artistes for Airplay. A radio producer known as Michael Roalin came in to  defend of his colleague Mzazi and other musical big shots.

This is what he said:

I am an accomplished radio producer working for Royal Media Services and to be honest one cannot bribe a presenter to receive airplay. Personally I produce Mambo Mseto and each time Tuva receives a new song he forwards it to me for vetting. I have personally called up artistes to advise them on how to achieve good quality for broadcast, others have even asked me to name a price for airplay and my response is, for how long will you keep on paying to get airplay yet you complain of hustling.Let’s do the math, Royal Media has over ten stations, we add 1fm, Ghetto radio, Milele fm, Radio Jambo, Capital fm, Qfm, Kiss 100, Radio Maisha.. tell me even if one decided to pay each presenter 500 bob per show for airplay in total that amount can enable one get a serious studio and do serious stuff. You in Your capacity would u bend so low to be given 500 bob to publicize any individual?? The truth of the matter is now media has its level of discipline, someone who earns over 100k how much would you bribe him for airplay??

Most of these artistes do not have structures for their fans and they distribute their songs poorly, the quality is also wanting, someone brings u his cd labeled using a marker with no background information how does the presenter even introduce him to the audience? If u r a presenter whose show’s playlist is being controlled by someone senior than u, how would you take bribes and influence your senior or a panel of producers who vet music?

With this media craze and the government trying to control content being aired one cannot afford playing sub standard or explicit content and face the sack. We have some decisions that we make on personal level but we can’t blanket all personalities per ce. If I drive a probox one can’t say radio producers drive cheap cars.We have had cases where even our bosses order us to remove certain songs because of their content and quality, what does one do? One can decide to sleep with every woman musician in this industry but for how long will that habit go on? If they really are bribed then these presenters are damn wealthy..it’s very simple, ghafla is a big website…Would it be fair for other upcoming websites to claim that ghafla pays celebrities for interviews so that many people visit the website for content??Kizuri chajiuza, kibaya chajitembeza..Advice them to work smart and make it or MAKE IT!!!

Gospel Singer Ringtone Life in Danger

Barely a day after reporting how he narrowly dodged being run over by a rogue driver at the set of his video shoot, Gospel singer Ringtone now claims his life is in danger. This is after he was allegedly trailed by a white Subaru car from town all the way to The Junction.

In a statement to the police, Ringtone expressed fears for his life after he noticed a white Subaru car trailing him from Kimathi Street where he had parked his car outside Nanak House at 9.30 pm on Monday night, reports Daily Nation.

He allegedly drove towards Nakumatt Junction but instead of getting into the mall, he circumnavigated the roundabout severally to shake off the guys trailing him.

In his statement, the ‘Jubilee’ hit-maker did not name any suspects as he has no clue of who might be after his life.

“The truth will eventually come out. I have not wronged anyone and I cannot finger who is behind this or what is their motivation. My life is above board.”

Daily Nation adds that police have confirmed his allegations and are looking into the issue.

Ringtone on his part says that he will keep at his music regardless of any distractions as his life is in God’s hands.

“I leave it to God. The people who are trying to run me down will not succeed.” He concludes.

Is This Picture Racist And Highly Offensive Or Are We Just Over Reacting?(Photos)

There is this photo that has been making rounds on the internet; it’s a picture of Russian Socialite and Editor-in-Chief of Garage magazine, Dasha Zhukova, sitting on a black Bondage Chair.

The black bondage chair is made from a mannequin of a black woman on her back and legs in the air. The chair was designed by Norwegian artist Bjarne Melgaard and was inspired by an earlier 1969 piece by British artist Allen Jones.Allen back in 1969 created a couple of sculptures, a table chair and a hat-stand that incorporated mannequins of white women in a submissive position scantily dressed in leather.

The original: Allen Jones created 'Woman As An Armchair' in 1969. It was exhibited at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London and at the Tate

Understandably this sparked fiery protest form women who felt that it objectified women, turning them into nothing more than a piece of furniture, something on which men could sit on or put their cups on.

About fifty years later, another artiste decides to add fuel on wild fire and make not one but many of such nasty obscene furniture and included black women mannequins. The artist asserts ‘Woman as An Armchair’ was actually a protest against sexism and was not meant to offend anyone. But this chair is driving people berserk especially black people and feminist but mostly black feminists especially due to the fact that it’s a Caucasian woman sitting on a naked ” African woman”

This image of socialite Dasha Zhukova sitting on a chair made from a lifelike mannequin of a black woman lying on back with her legs in the was published on Martin Luther King Day

Dasha Zhukova who is also the girlfriend Roman Abramovich (the owner of Chelsea’s football club) has received quite the backlash for this chair especially due to the fact that it appeared online on Martin Luther King Day. She has faced accusations of racism and has been forced to apologize after the internets threw hissy fit over it. This is what she said ‘This photograph, which has been published completely out of context, is of an art work intended specifically as a commentary on gender and racial politics. I utterly abhor racism, and would like to apologize to anyone who has been offended by this image.”

If we are looking for offensive, I think this furniture is utterly and completely offensive to women everywhere regardless of whether you are black or white. Its offensive in that once again, women are turned into a mere piece of furniture, its offensive because these women are scantily dressed, its offensive because the chairs are specifically labeled as black or white. Its offensive when a Caucasian thinks it’s okay to pose on a “black woman” after the years Africans have had to deal with slavery, racism and colonialism. Its offensive because the Mau Mau had to bust their asses in the jungle, braving the cold nights and the gunfire and dying in order to free us from British colonialism.

This photo spits in the face of women like Wangari Matahi ,Mekatilili,Rosa Parks who fought to get us freedom . It’s distasteful to women like Lupita and Oprah who have worked their butts off to get recognize in Hollywood,an industry who i hear has a racist underbelly.

This photo would still be offensive if it was a black woman sitting on a “white woman”. This photo is offensive in so many levels and what’s with the bondage? There are many ways to portray sexism through art; it does not have to be through bonded scantily dressed women.

What do you guys think? Is this photo extremely offensive or are people over reacting?

Remember When? This is the very First Time Kenyan Artists were airlifted to Perform in the US (PHOTO)

They say memories are made of bliss; sure they are! While doing rounds on Facebook I came across this old photo of the first ever batch of Kenyan artists to perform in the US, a trip made possible by Jojo Kilimanjaro, a promoter of Kenyan, African and Reggae events and concerts in Minnesota and North America.

This was back in 2003 at Atlanta airport with Redsan, Mr Googz and Vinnie Banton of Wasee wa Githurai fame. This is when every Kenyan in the US went to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and Ogopa Deejays were the Kenyan music gods then.

This is also the very first time artists were flown in from Kenya to perform in the US. Take a look;

Memories are made of this.

Photo Of The Day: Check Out DJ Creme And Hypnotiq Back When They Were Skinny And Ratchet (PHOTOS)

DJ Creme and DJ Hypnotiq are some of the best known DJs in Kenya and trust that it’s for a good reason: the know how to keep the crowd raving. The lads really know their stuff and they can read the mood of the crowd without struggling.

But before they were some high flying DJs, who were they? What were they? Well, I can honestly say that they were certainly not round. And both had a full head of hair. While the illuminati sell their souls for wealth, Kenyan DJs seem to trade  their hair for skill.

But away from the LOLs, check the pair out below:

The Thirst is Real: Men Drool Over VoluptuousRisper Faith (PHOTOS)

While majority of women drool over 6 pack abs and chiseled shoulders, most men keep their eyes on either boobs or butts. Men are visual creatures, and it’s no surprise they’re attracted to some parts of the female body more than others. This was witnessed recently when bootyful vixen and model, Risper Faith made an appearance on Comedy Central KE.

Risper’s presence at the show’s posters seems to have attracted a huge audience that without a doubt enjoyed every moment of the show. The event saw the Louis Leaky auditorium at National Museum packed as Kenyans turned up for Comedy Central KE’s first recording.

However, Risper’s moment on stage aroused the audience’s interest as other openly drooled at the MKU student’s well-endowed backside. Even the Chairman of the Board of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund, Gor Semelang’o couldn’t resist the urge to check out the curvaceous Risper.

‘Alcoblow Watch’ Facebook & Twitter Pages Being Monitored by Police

Trust Kenyans to always come up with ways of outwitting the Government’s decree. Shortly after the re-introduction of alcoblow gadgets on Nairobi roads, Nairobians took to social media (their citadel) and set up pages with one aim; “Assist evade alcoblow”.

In fact one of the pages descriptions reads, “Yenyewe 500K fine is a lot of cash, lets help each other avoid the alcoblow by posting on this page where the alcoblow checks are. Then we can avoid using those roads”, and just like that the page started operations.

However, it would be long before the page comes under the Police radar.

Earlier this week, Traffic Commandant, Samuel Kimaru, read the riot act warning the admins of the pages declaring, “We are monitoring the pages. We are also redeploying the police to different locations after a few minutes to avoid this,” reports Nairobi News.

He went ahead to identify the targeted Facebook pages as ‘Alcoblow Watch’ and ‘Alcoblow updates’ and added that the perpetrators are helping drunk motorists circumvent the law.

However, the directive seemed not to perturb the pages’ fans as one said, “Its perfectly legal to post your observations on social media or on any other forum this is not a police state as much as the police would like it to be one.” Another adding, “how illegal is it to caution law abiding citizen of where they can be safe. i believe its in order to tell the public where our boys are situated so that they can get help asap. i guess now they’ll be coming to houses where cars are packed and demand we blow the gadgets.”

Another one urged the admin on;

“Admin, kaa ngumu, there is nothing the buggers aka police can do becoz FB CANNOTAND I REPEAT CANNOT SHARE user info. They are just making noise, kibunja tried it and he hit a brickwall once he realized that FB will not help him by revealing user info. There is NOTHING police can do. NOTHING. Keep the page up and lets recruit 20,000 other kenyans till these silly police arrest the real thugs roaming our estates and leave innocent kenyans who want to enjoy their hard earned money.”
