PHOTO: Radio Girl Anita Nderu Teaches Her Boyfriend How to ‘Pull a Miley’

In August last year Miley Cyrus became the talk around the globe after her racy performance during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. However, despite her twerking, nude-colored two-piece and foam #1 finger, Miley made headlines for another reason -her tongue.

Yeah, the organ that’s never in her mouth; where it’s SUPPOSED to be just like our own Uncle ChimTuna.

Miley’s tongue is almost as famous as the singer herself these days – she’s constantly sticking it out in pictures (like her ‘brother’ Chim), in music videos, and onstage.

Well, “the tongue” has managed to infiltrate Capital FM’s Anita Nderu who has already taught her boyfriend how to nail Miley’s tongue move, and now, it’s wormed its way into his mouth! So, in honor of ‘Ms. Destiny Hope Cyrus’ herself, here’s Anita Nderu’s boyfriend;

Anita captioned, “…I taught him the Miley:-D”

We may never know, but we can basically guarantee that whenever anyone sees anybody sticking out their tongue, the image of Miley will immediately pop into their mind.

Linda Oguttuh Gives Birth To A Beautiful Bundle Of Joy

A couple of months I posted a story about Linda Oguttuh being pregnant in the most insensitive of manners. Actually, to be honest, I wasn’t trying to be insensitive, I was just trying to be first with the story. Sadly, I ended up offending Linda Oguttuh. I have since apologiezed. But I find that this fact has made me become overly sensitive about writing stories about the KTN news anchor.

Yet not even SDE has this story so I guess i must man up and try to be as careful as possible. oh the pressure! And pressure bursts pipes.
Anyway, it is with joy that I want to announce the birth of Linda Oguttuh’s baby and for those eager to know the child’s gender, the baby is a girl. Aye lads and lasses, Linda gave birth to a bouncing baby girl.

The reason why I was being pummelled by females for the article that announced that Linda Oguttuh is pregnant is because she had previously unfortunately suffered a miscarriage and the article seemed as though I found glee in the fact. I did not and I do not and when Caroline Mutoko informed me, I apologized and profusely so.

But back to the story. My source who happens to be a nurse at the Hospital the delivery took place in tells me that the child weighed in at 4.2 Kgs and both mother and child are alright. And infact have already been discharged. I am happy that Linda Oguttuh gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl and I wish the family nothing but the best.

Willy Paul’s New Body Will Make You Want To Hit The Gym (Photo)

They say that image is not everything but in the entertainment world people are superficial and looking your best is imperative for one to achieve a successful career.

You can have zero talent but still have a large following and achieve fame because you have an attractive face or an enviable body.Looking good and having talent on the other hand makes you a double threat, just ask Diamond. The Tanzanian star dropped his one pack for a chiselled and wonderfully coffee-coloured body once he became famous.

Rapper Xtatic knows this too and her body is certainly a sight for sore eyes.

The People Have Spoken. Here Is Kenya’s Dancehall King

Yesterday we ran a poll to find out who is really the illest between two of Kenya’s most prolific artistes, Redsan and Wyre.

Was it the Badder Than Most Singer or the one who brought in Alaine for ‘Nakupenda Pia’

We threw in the greats in a pit that we like to call a Ghafla Poll and just like a gladiator only one could live to fight another day. So who was the winner? Was it Redsan or Wyre? Well here are the results

It’s clear ladies and gents that Wyre is King, All Hail the King!

Introducing the Hottest Afro-Pop Sensation

The Kenyan afro-pop music has been on a steady rise for the past few years and like fine wine it gets better with age and the best is yet to come. However, for now we give you the super-talented singer, Radi.

Radi (Radimusic) is a Kenyan Afro-pop musician with a soulful voice. Her stage name Radi is a translation of the Swahili word for ‘lightning’ which represents the striking, deep and serene messages in her music.

Radi begun her music career five years ago and she has just released an album titled “Nairobi”, which is a compilation of 12 single tracks that were recorded at various studios in Nairobi. The album blends different genres of music, portraying Radi’s diverse experiences living in Nairobi city.

“Vumilia” is one of her latest singles off the album that has created quite a stir.

The song was produced by Kevin Provoke and combines the acoustic guitar and violin, accompanied by African drums to bring out the rich yet unique Afro-pop sound.

Here’s “Vumilia”;

YGB Turn On Octopizzo, Reveal Some Damaging Secrets! Beef Season Is Officially Open

When Octo first came onto the scene, he had an entire army in back of him that he would always shout out. That team was YGB. On his first track “On Top”, he kept shouting them out and it gave you the sense that we were witnessing what could very well have been the beginning of Kenya’s G-Unit. then everything seemed to fall flat.

But today, YGB strolled into the Ghafla offices to explain where they have been and talk ab out how Octopizzo betrayed them. And my oh my, this was quite an interview. It was in a word, explosive! There were shots fired all round. From Slumdeezy and Virusi (YGB frontmen) were not trying to take prisoners. Possibly, pain at what they perceived to be betrayal was still raw.

What am I? A poet? These guys were taking shots and trying to get at Octo’s crown. When word that they were in the office was spread through twitter, Octo took shots at them in return via tweets and what an exchange it was! Watch the video below in which they started by calling Octopizzo the worst female rapper in the country then claimed rather sensationally that they were the people who ghost-wrote Octopizzo’s music:

{youtube}HjilA67M0Zg{/youtube}

On Octopizzo’s part, he had this to say:

Lady Karun’s Rendevous This Friday

Lady Karun is definitely one of the few females artists ever on toes starting the year on a high with the launch of her album attended by none other than the President himself. Given that she made it to our top artists under 25 list earlier this month, anyone would bet on her to be this year’s stand out female artist.

Well she is not resting on her laurels either, this Friday she will be the highlight of coke Studio Africa Artist Takeover. It will not be her first time as she has featured alongside other industry greats on the same platform during season one.

The former house help has managed to rise through complete hard work and willpower beating all odds to become one of Kenya’s best gospel artistes.

She also stood by her man after he was exposed as a rogue pastor and was pretty calm and did not disrespect him in public following the whole upsetting situation that resulted from the expose.A true ride or die woman

Turns out that Betty is not only a good wife but a doting mother to this cute little lady

After Being Fired from K24 Barely 6 Months Ago former Reporter Now Owns an 800,000 Poultry Farm. Here’s His Success Story

In August 2013, K24 sent home over 70 journalists in a move that shook the media industry. Among them was renowned K24 reporter, Caleb Karuga. Prior to his sacking, Karuga had been with the station for 6 years and that marked the end of his media career.

Defying all odds, today Karuga is the proud owner of Wendy Farms Ltd, an KSh800,000 agri-business empire that sustains him. Following his dismissal Karuga worked out a plan that saw him lease a plot of land and today he’s headed to be a millionaire!

Like many youths, Karuga’s family had a very small piece of land to its name – quarter an acre of land. With five beneficiaries to the land, he could not rely on it.

Caleb_Karuga.jpeg

“I leased an acre of land in Kikuyu and started to build structures for kienyeji chicken. The lease costs me KSh8,000 a year!” he explains his humble beginnings to Mkulima Young adding, “I bought three kienyeji chicken and three pigs. One does not have to start big. That is the mistake most young people make.”

Karuga then bought 500 Day-Old KARI improved kienyeji chicken after losing most indigenous chicken he had bought from several farmers in order to increase his stock because most of them were not vaccinated.

Today, his Kikuyu farm has over 1,500 kienyeji chickens, while two other pieces of land in Nanyuki and Nyeri have 400 and 200 kienyeji chicken respectively.

Caleb_Karuga_2.jpg

Although the kienyeji chickens take longer to mature, Caleb chose them because they are cheaper to feed and are quite disease resistant.

“I sell a one day chick at KSh100 and a kienyeji egg at KSh 15 or KSh 20. A full grown kienyeji chicken goes for about KSh800 while the broilers/ ex layers go for KSh 270-Sh 300. When you do your math, you realize that the kienyeji chicken is more profitable,” reveals the former K24 reporter.

Caleb_Karuga_3.jpg

Karuga reveals that on a good month the kienyeji chicken can earn him a handsome figure in the neighborhood of KSh800,000 shillings or more. At times, he sells cocks at Sh 1,200 and above during holidays such as April, August and December.

“In most cases, I determine the cost of the chicken since the demand for kienyeji meat far outstrips supply. It’s a very good business.”

Karuga has since expanded to quails, guinea fowls, dairy goat and strawberry farming.

Caleb_quails.jpg

As a parting shot Karuga says;

“You can lose the job you have today. Don’t be obsessed with a formal job or get stuck at the plateau of success. Look for a way in which you can have a plan B business to cushion you during hard times. Learn to create employment, not look for it.”

Anne Kansiime’s Show On Citizen TV Is A Success!

Anne Kansiime is without a doubt one of the most entertaining comedians of our time and a personal favorite.

She is genuinely comical and focuses on putting humor in real life situations as opposed to the ethnic humor and ‘shrubbing’ that has for ages been passing off as comedy. I was pretty excited on hearing that the girl from Kabale would be premiering on Citizen TV in a show dubbed “Don’t Mess With Kansiime

“Dont mess with kansiime” premiered yesterday on Citizen TV and was well received, here are some of the reactions:

When word broke out that Emmy Kosgei had received a gift from her soon to be husband, it did so on Ghafla. Then they got married and by them I mean Nigerian televangelist Apostle Anselm Madubuko and his blushing bride Emmy Kosgei. And since word of their whirlwind romance broke on an entertainment publication (I honestly can’t remember which but just so no hard feelings are caught, let me say that it broke out on eitgher Pulse, SDE, Buzz, The Star or some other publication).

After Anne Kansiime’s Show Premiers, The Bar Is Set High For Teacher Wanjiku. Will She Impress Or Flop?

Anne Kansiime has arrived and she is currently the toast of the town. Her show has received some resounding accolades, applaudes and ovation with it’s premier yesterday. And if you do not believe me that everyone has been giving it a thumbs up, check out some of the Kenyan actors reactions below:

But after seeing the reaction the Ugandan comic has had on the Kenyan audience, I am convinced that humour cut across nationalities, creed and ethnicity. But what of Teacher Wanjiku? Well, Kenyans expressed their lack of faith in her ability to carry a show as shown by the poll that was carried out by my colleague Sue Watiri:

Aye, Kenyans seem to have put their faith in Kansiime and she didn’t disappoint. She came through for her supporters in outstanding fashion. What of Teacher Wanjiku? Does she feel threatened? Is she a-quivering in her boots? Well, I called her to ask and…

My calls and texts went unanswered. Shocking!

Personally, I hope she will use the feedback she received from the humble two million (more like a humble 3.5 million readers) and use it to improve on what she had and make me proud. Personally, I always root for Kenya except when it’s football. But on this matter, I am firmly team Teacher Wanjiku.

just wait till her show launches!

Epic Fail! Top 8 Kenyan Celebrity Fashion Disasters (Photos)

When you are in the entertainment industry, your image is everything and a great fashion sense is a must. But you shouldn’t be caught out in ‘kawaida’ clothes in case you are confused for a commoner, make your clothes are distinctive and exquisite, something that will make you stand out from the pack.

When it comes to making fashion statements in the world, Lady Gaga takes the cake for having the most eccentric clothes, from wearing meat to wearing a bear to wearing antlers and lobsters; Lady Gaga has done it all.

http://images.thehollywoodgossip.com/iu/t_large_p/v1364525485/lobster-head.jpg

While we have not seen any superstar walk around like something that escaped from the Kenya Meat Commission, we have seen some celebrities go out of their comfort zones and try something new and unconventional. Unfortunately even the most carefully planned fashion statements can be an epic flop and a source for hilarity. Here are the biggest celebrity fashion fails so far:

Dennis Oliech

He got to the number one spot uncontested thanks to his heels and that ridiculous, ludicrous skirt he wore at blankets and wine.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FrLFAwyHuio/T_Qr0TxjV0I/AAAAAAAABbE/nVEb9bKiEVI/s1600/483286_255840414529586_696733582_n.jpg

While I will give a 10 /10 to Oliech for jumping out of the comfort zone and trying something unusual, I give him a 1/10 for plunging into the world of epic fashion fails

Ian Mugoya

I never expected him to be in this list but even the most stylish people have a bad fashion day and Ian Mugoya’s was his Kanye West skirt.

Here is the thing if Kanye wears a skirt he can hack it because he is Kanye, same reason Gaga can walk around in meat and people will call it ‘ the most iconic VMA fashion moment ever’ . You on the other hand just looks like a lost man in a skirt

Brenda Wairimu

Another one I did not expect to be in this list. Her blonde weave/wig at the African Magic Award nominee’s party was ill advised and so was the dress.

Brenda_Wairimu_AMVCA_red_carpet.jpg

It looked like a dog ran after you and tore part of your dress and the pieces you salvaged are what you are wearing .Brenda is a lovely girl she does not need to go bat-shit crazy with the fashion, it’s like lighting a candle hen covering it with a basket.

Avril and her  torn stockings

Torn stockings are bad, torn fishnet stockings are worse and should just disappear in a Fashion apocalypse.

Not even someone as pretty as Avril could not pull this off this, sadly

Muthoni Drummer Queen’s half-shaved head

Absolutely horrible. Muthoni while we appreciate the fact that you are  a breath of fresh air to the music scene, that hairstyle…

Betty Bayo

One of the most talented voices in Kenya, this outfit however was a let down

Risper faith

When you are as endowed as lady Risper, the last thing you should do id wear something as short as this.

When you bend over or sit your Fundamentals will be exposed to all and sundry and we don’t want that do we?

Huddah Monroe in this outfit

The outfit speaks for itself!

You Need To Watch This Trending Video

Ringtone’s new video “Muziki Ni Dawa” is back up in YouTube after it was pulled down for alleged ‘pornographic’ content. There is hardly any porn content in this video so it makes one wonder why it was pulled down in the first place.

ringtone_COVER.jpg

Ringtone claims sabotage by his enemies. In his defense when it emerged that the video had been taken down, Ringtone accused the people of using the report button to have the video taken down on grounds of explicit content.

YouTube issued an apology to Ringtone then put the video back up.

Is someone out to derail Ringtone’s career?

Acting Pays! Former Tahidi High Actor Freddy Flaunts His Mercedes (PHOTO)

Expensive cars come with the territory of being a celebrity. The status, the spending and the brash tinted windows are all part of the package. Famous celebrities past and present own splendid wheels and Abel Mutua (Freddie in Tahidi High) is one of those.

After revealing that he owns a Mercedes Benz, we searched and searched the internet to satisfy our curiosity in what kind of Mercedes he but it was hard to find out what he owns and took forever to get the answer. But am glad we finally did!

The Hapa Kule News comedian’s ride is black and reflective. But it’s also a beast—it’s a Mercedes E200! Check out ‘Sheila’;

‘Nairobi Girls Drive Me Crazy!’ Kenyan Artiste Says (Video)

Kenyans especially the youth often frown upon vernacular Kenyan songs forgetting that vernacular artistes are the most successful and have the largest following.

Some successful vernacular artistes include Otieno Aluka of the Kanungo Ateko fame,Ken Wa Maria and his fundamentals and John De’Mathew of the Wituite Hiti fame.

Today we introduce to you a song that is slated to be the next ‘Fundamentals; .It’s called Muiruitu wa Nairofi (Nairobian Girl ) and it praises the beauties that are Nairobi girls.

The singer says:

When a beautiful woman is in public all the young men cannot help but go like “She is the one”

Nairobi girls are beautiful, they leave men confused and that is why I sing this song for them

Celebrating Mediocrity: Yet Another Boring Entertainment Show Is Launched.

It has been a minute since I last gave you a well thought out opinion piece and I figure I should make up for lost time.
Aye, ladies and gentlemen, my colleagues and friends had asked me whether I had caught a glimpse of the new entertainment slash magazine slash fashion slash whatever else they think of along the way show called “E-Curve“. I hadn’t so I looked it up on Youtube and trust that I was sorely disappointed. There was nothing new to be seen. Actually, it was a step down. You would think that “Str8 Up” would set a yardstick and they would be looking to improve on that model, not replicate then butcher it.

Think about it. When KTN pioneered the new format of interactive magazine show with “Str8 Up“, we all loved it. It was an improvement from the old format that was first brought to the fore by KBC’s “Mizizi“.
But it was fresh back in 2006. Str8 Up cannot be the only format that everyone is copying.

But all feelings of consternation cast aside, I strongly feel that the lack of creativity showcased in how corporates approach entertainment is best exemplified by the entertainment shows -and in Uncle Chim Tuna’s article, “E-Curve” is a fine example. When it was announced by Ghafla that KTN would no longer be showing Tujuane I was actually expecting them, to replace it with a well thought out show.

They didn’t. Instead, they gave us a show that is nothing more than a revamped version of KBC’s “Grapevine“. Whoever it is at KTN who screens shows is either out of touch with their demograph or simply doesn’t care. I spoke to a producer at KTN once and they informed me that Kenyans do not value well thought out shows and they are expensive. No sh… No! Just no! You don’t say!

Imagine my shock when I was informed that young, creative Kenyans who have come up with shows that are well thought out get turned away simply because KTN is not willing to cough up the money demanded as fair recompense. Really radical thinking that! The nerve of these punks.

Add to this the fact that KTN are being sued by Noni Gathoni who is alleging that KTN stole her idea for an upper echelon version of “. Instead of allegedly copying and stealing ideas, why not innovate? Come up with a funeral show or something. Or better yet, why not just hire someone who is ACTUALLY INTOUCH with the youth when you plan an entertainment show?

Think of it this way, at the rate at which we’re going, we’re going to have a bunch of mediocre (at best) shows claiming to fill the quota for local content. No wonder the DSTV subscription rate keeps rising with each passing year!

For now, I guess we’re stuck with this girl and her faker-than-Chinese-make-up accent and her sms eubonics in the name of entertainment news. Enjoy.

And before anyone complains, remember, everyone has a right to an opinion, MINE!
