Ringtone’s new video “Muziki Ni Dawa” is back up in YouTube after it was pulled down for alleged ‘pornographic’ content. There is hardly any porn content in this video so it makes one wonder why it was pulled down in the first place.
Ringtone claims sabotage by his enemies. In his defense when it emerged that the video had been taken down, Ringtone accused the people of using the report button to have the video taken down on grounds of explicit content.
YouTube issued an apology to Ringtone then put the video back up.

Two weeks after the release of the ‘Makekes’, the Gospel video by Jimmy Gait and Papa Dennis is still sharp reactions but mostly denigration. Flamboyant Gospel singer, Ringtone, was the first celeb to openly take a stab at Jimmy Gait and Papa Dennis for throwing KSh2.5 million video.
Demeaning the two artistes behind the video, Ringtone argued that they wouldn’t have bothered contracting a foreign director since a local one would have done a better job than they did considering the amount of money splashed on the video.
In a rejoinder, Jimmy Gait declared that he won’t be moved by such statements and that he’ll keep doing bigger and better things, reports Nairobi News.
“God has blessed me and I will do great things to praise Him. Those discrediting me for taking Kenya’s gospel music to the international platform shall not shake me, in fact, they will make me work harder and achieve bigger goals.”
Just a day after, Jimmy turned a deaf ear to Ringtone, Papa Dennis has come out guns blazing and given Ringtone a rap on the knuckles and instead disparage their efforts.
A disappointed Papa Dennis says that it’s a shame that an old timer like Ringtone would fail to recognize a fast-rising artiste’s efforts
“Ringtone has been in the game for many years even before some of us were discovered and so he needs to pave way for up and coming artistes.”
But he wasn’t done.
He decided to take shots at Ringtone saying, “He has been in the game for so long but ajawai toa kitu kama hii besides hakuna award ile major amewin na video zake. So Ringtone aache wivu na asupport wasanii wachanga.”
Papa Dennis cold pack come this way: “Kama kitu ni kali ni kali na anyone can see. It’s easy to differentiate a Hollywood-class video from a Riverwood one.”
What did Ringtone have to say?
Well according to the ‘Mziki Ni Dawa’ hit-maker, he doesn’t want to respond to Papa Dennis because he doesn’t recognize him.
“Me staki kumzungumzia ju simjui,” declares Ringtone posing, “Who is he?”
He immediately switches to Jimmy Gait saying that he shouldn’t boast that he’s setting standards.
“In Gospel we don’t set standards. The Bible says Jesus already set the standards.”
He argues that the only standard set by Jimmy is “how secular Gospel artistes can go.” Ringtone adds that if standards were anything to go by, the likes of Mary Atieno, Angela Chibalonza and Emachichi did that.
Ringtone further says, “Jimmy should take criticisms positively besides he should stop bragging since the video was sponsored by Maliza Umaskini. If the video was sponsored he can’t say it will set standards.”
He concludes, “Maliza Umaskini is doing a good job supporting upcoming artistes and so Jimmy should stop saying that song his is. Hio ngoma ni ule upcoming artiste.”

Well, one of these musical legends is making a comeback. Kingsting formerly of the lyrical duo, Kingsting and Bedbug is set to make yet another comeback after two years as a no show.
He had surfaced two years ago with Sherehe before taking a hiatus to pursue other projects.Speaking to Ommy Dallah,the coast based artiste earlier announced that we should be expecting more of him in 2014 “Kwa sasa hivi ndio twapika pika mambo alafu katikati ya mwezi ujao mambo yatakuwa tayari”

Recently, increasingly popular singer, dancer and band leader, Defao Matumona, known as Le Général DEFAO brought Nairobi to a near stand-still when he descended in the capital in a fleet of the best and most expensive high-end machines.
We were then brought to speed that the Congolese musician was in town to shoot his high-budget video for an upcoming album. Remarkably, the entire video production had been contracted to a Kenyan production house, Katenga Media.
It’s believed that Cartel of Katenga Media raked in some fat pay-cheque considering he (and his team) handled the entire video production that featured the Chryslers, Range Rovers and Mercedes of this world.

Towards the end of January, Citizen TV’s Lilian Muli look-alike and KTN reporter, Charity Kimani, parted ways with her employer. With her exit from KTN still a mystery to many with unconfirmed reports indicating that she might have been fired, Charity seems to have ‘accepted & moved on’.
However, we wanted to find out why she left KTN upon which she answered,
“I’ll tell everything when the right time comes there is a lot…”
For now though, Charity says she’s keeping it on the down-low as she concentrates on her business.
