Born in the magnificent lake region, Eric Omondi has grown up to become one of the most bankable stand-up comedians not only in Kenya but also in Africa.

The nominee Churchill Show funny man is not only a rib cracking comedian but also a kind soul .

He was recently at the glorious coast of Kenya where he spent Valentine’s Day with a few female inmates at Shimo la Tewa prison .After that he got into “trouble ” and was arrested by a few female cops,the comedian did not seem to mind though

Amani seems to be one in a long line of people who have an axe to grind with The Kenya Daily Post. And from what I have seen, they are all legitimate issues -and I should know a thing or two about legal issues of a civilian nature. Anyway, away from my threadbare legal knowledge, let us move onto the story itself.

The story that Kenyan Post carried about a certain underage girl called Vanessa Chettle infecting Shaffie Weru and Nick Mutuma was actually criminal and any of the aggrieved can turn it into a case involving the state should they wish to pursue it. However, that said, it would seem thaty Kenyans are getting tired of the garbage Daily post churn out.

 

Anyway, Amani is tired of the B.S and decided to call out the bloggers -whom I must asdmit have incredible political mileage which sadly they know not how to use. This is what Amani had to say:

So, we all know that Churchill Show & Churchill Raw have gone on a hiatus till next season. However, we wanted to find out which you best prefer. And what a better way to let you decide?

Anyhow, the results are out and it’s nothing close to what I imagined. I used to think Churchill Show is the more popular comedy show but it seems I was wrong if these stats are anything to go by. It’s pretty clear that you guys have a preference for Churchill Raw.

Out of 194 guys that voted, almost 60% of them would rather watch Churchill Raw than its sister show.

They say beware of a wounded lion and that is beginning to sound real. In March 2013, newly re-launched K24 raided Citizen TV and made away with the crème anchors, camera guys and other technical guys. This move was almost obliteration to Citizen TV but more was yet to come.

About a fortnight ago, unconfirmed reports at K24 infer, SK Macharia was seen at GMC Plaza, home to K24, flanked by heavy security detail. His mission? To ‘take his pound of flesh’.

Anyway, his visit is believed to have been a mission to dangle the carrot, and it wasn’t in vain as now Patrick Igunza is headed to the Communications Centre (Citizen TV’s home).

His move to the leading TV station in the country is set to cripple the K24 business desk which suffered a blow last month when the beautiful and astute Terryanne Chebet headed back to Citizen to re-join the business desk she had previously held.

K24 boasts of the best business and sports desks on Kenyan TV and it’s not a wonder it the former was targeted.

The departure of Igunza leaves K24 with only Mumbi Warui, Salome Warui and Tony Timase (formerly of Citizen TV).

Igunza describes himself as a “Young journalist but ready to take it to the next level with interest in Business news, Property Markets, Social Features and Entertainment.” And that is not just mere chest-thumping; the guy is good at what he does. Check out;

For the better part of Friday and the weekend, rumours were spreading quicker than bush fire on social media about a certain ‘16 year old socialite’ who is killing Nairobi men.

What’s more is that she was chopped down by not one, not two, not three but ‘six-fudging-teen’ deejays in a DJ booth at a leading Nairobi club.

Well, sounds too large-scale for a 16 year old until you hear her side of the story but Daily Post just had to run the story oblivious of the damage it would cause.

Speaking to Cabu Gah, Vanessa Chettle, was a torn teen girl. The girl who at one time graced our Ghafla! Girl section says;

Well…Why did someone have to tear her apart like that and even draw other guys?

 

Catherine Kamau is one of the hottest actresses on the show Mother In-Law and When I saw this picture, I just had to share. That was after I ripped my eyes away from staring at her titillating thunder thighs. And when you google the term “thunder thighs” what comes up? The fact that these are considered the right thighs to show off when wearing a bikini.

And from the picture I am about to share, it isn’t too hard to imagine this divine diva dipping herself into the ocean with an exotic backdrop -then I slapped myself and got back to typing up this article.

Usually, when the name“Nyong’o” is brought up, it is in political circles or alluding to political intrigues and noise. That isn’t the case anymore. It is now synonymous with fashion and taste and movie stars. And that is all down to one scion of the family; Lupita.

Funny thing though is that though Dorothy Nyong’o is often heard about when Anyang Nyong’o is mentioned, she looked at home on the red carpet.

After close to 5 years, photo-journalist turned activist, Boniface Mwangi, has decided to drop his banners and go home. He has been the face of street protests and is well remembered for orchestrating the much-publicized MPigs campaign that paralyzed parliamentary proceedings for some time.

And how, you will no longer hear much from Bonnie (as he’s commonly known) in the coming future.

 

Then again, Boniface isn’t walking away without a brawl. Cyber-activist, Robert Alai has taken shots at Boniface saying, “I am very disappointed with the excuses Boniface Mwangi give.”

This is what Alai thinks;

“How do you decide to stop being an activist? Was it a hobby or career that someone can just wake up and retire from? Rev Jesse Jackson still is active, Al Sharpton, just to name but a few.

You need to inspire change. You should inspire even change of mentality of the people you are fighting for. You are very FAKE if you don’t know that challenging powers that be put your life at risk. It is not a massage parlour. It is war and if you don’t have the guts, don’t attempt it.

I am very disappointed with the excuses Boniface Mwangi give. That is why I have always doubted his activist credential. Look at Okiya Omtatah. Cut with a panga more than enough times. He has never stopped fighting for the common man. He just changed tact.

Claiming that Kenyans are so selfish that they are not worth fighting for is the most stupid, unpatriotic and selfish statement you can hear from someone who should be fighting for the plight of the common man.

Ask the Orengos, Njoyas, Matibas, Railas, Imanyaras, Andugosis, Subas and Anyonas. They were not pussies like Boniface Mwangi. They fought grenades, bullets and tanks with bare hands. They were trailed to their homes and their families traumatised. You are a simple con if you believe that activism is a bed of roses which if you join, you get millions in funding and don’t get teargassed.

Being an activist is a calling if you are honestly in it. You are like a mouthpiece for those that are voiceless and the minute you put protesting and activism in the same line..phuleez I stop taking you seriously.”

Do you agree with Alai?

Fresh from controversies linking her to lesbianism, Nini Wacera, has decided to hold her head high and forge ahead in the film industry. The Pan African Star (Kona, Dads can cook, Nairobi Law, Changes among others), has done the big step and gone all Nollywood!

Her manager Alexandros Konstantaras has confirmed that Nini is at the moment in Lagos for the production of several Nigerian movies! Seems like it will be an exciting year for her with many challenging roles!

Nini admitted that she already fell in love with Naija.  

“I love Nigeria! The experience is intense and high pressured. The directors are very keen on what they need to achieve and I am amazed at the fact that they have mastered the art of easy storytelling, low production costs and high turnover. They love to work under pressure and my time shooting Kona prepared me for this. But there’s still time for an ice cream with my actress Lizz Njagah!”

The two Kenyan Stars are set to take over the African TV and Film industry and they are leading the way for other Kenyan actors and actresses!

Before her trip to Nigeria, Nini also starred on an AGRA documentary which received great reviews and her acting was hailed all over Africa

She has also teamed up with Sitawa Wafula, the founder of “My mind, my funk”, a mental health resource centre for persons with mental health conditions and their families.

 

Nini stated, “At the moment we are looking for funding to produce a talk show that provides positive narratives, information, awareness and education about mental health disorders and to provide tools and information on maintaining mental health.”

Nyasuguta is a character on the popular KBC TV show Vitimbi who happens to be a walking stereotype. I have no idea what tribe she is meant to be a parody of nor do I care to know. All I know is that she is good at it to the point of being an irritant to me whenever I come across our househelp watching the show. Well, on the flipside, she is good enough an actor to keep our househelp roaring with laughter.

 

But the thing about her character is that Nyasuguta is a village lass. And I mean the most backward of village lasses. She basically is a walking stereotype. She dresses like a bush-girl and acts like a bush girl but just how does she look when she is all dolled up, pressed and dressed to the nines? Check out the sexy lass below:

 

 

 

Relationships can be hard but they can be harder when you are in the limelight. This is because your relationship is the subject of public interest and there is pressure for those who want the best for you and for those that are rooting for the failure of your relationship.

Today I spoke to one of the celebrities whose relationships is under public scrutiny. His name is Gerald Langiri and you have probably spotted him in productions such as House of Lungula, Papa Shirandula where he plays the role of Mr Araka smart a long lost close friend of Papa Shirandula and he is also the Host of “In the forest”.

 

Langiri went down on one knee during the premier night of his highly rated production House Of Lungula. He popped the question to one Lynn Jumba and since then his relationship has been a subject of public importance.

Dating in the spotlight can be pretty hard as everyone is looking at you. You also have to be very careful with those people you associate with as some might try to ruin what you have. There is also that pressure of having a huge glamorous wedding because you are a celebrity and people assume that you have the money for a grand wedding. However the good thing about Kenya is that the pressure is relatively lesser as compared to the USA where Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s relationship is basically a Kanye Kim USA affair .My fiancé and I do not let the pressure affect us because the relationship is ours and we know what we want.
